He did an excellent job. I called on a Sunday and left a message, not anticipating a call back until Monday. He communicated promptly on Sunday with pricing, availability and scheduling and came out the next day (which was helpful as I had water shutoff to the upper floor) and completed the work ahead of schedule. He communicated well through the process, was good to talk to and did great work — even cleaning up after himself. Pricing was very fair, especially considering the quick turnaround. I would gladly recommend him to anyone looking for a competent plumber.Quoting and payment processing was also smooth as it was all done electronically, making it easy to review and pay.For reference, he swapped out a shower valve on CC for me and used pro press instead of sweating the CC.

Oh my! John saved the day! Over the holiday weekend I had a pinhole leak start from old galvanized piping above a very old water heater in an older home I purchased 2 years ago. He communicated with me quickly about what to do and came todsy and replaced piping and water heater, and taught me so much about this old house and planning its care for longevity moving forward. John, proprietor and licensed plumber, of JLR Plumbing provided a quick, extremely competitive estimate on replacing two 50 Gal Hot Water Heaters and redirecting some piping. From estimate to completion was literally two days and the in home work was done in less than 3 hours. The work was done about a month ago, so I waited to write this to ensure the work was solid and indeed everything is working wonderfully. I would highly recommend John to anyone needing plumbing related work done quickly, effectively and as described. Thanks John for proving quality workmanship and pride in doing a great job in plumbing still exists in our country.

Great experience with John.We had a dishwasher break. A new one was delivered over the weekend and he showed up Monday morning first thing. After calling a couple places and getting no response, I can’t say how happy I was with his availability. He answered calls in person and responded to texts; was flexible with scheduling. I can’t say enough about how much I appreciate being able to talk to a person and not a digital voice answering system.Most importantly, the dishwasher is working perfectly. He put in a new outlet since the old one was “hard wired,” and the new one needed to be plugged in. The dimensions were super tight but he made it work without any damage to the surrounding area.Professionalism 5/5

I dont leave a lot of reviews but felt compelled to give John/JLR credit for being a grade A business. After our heater stopped working I contacted JLR to get a repair quote. While we initially did not have him come out (due to schedule) to troubleshoot, John provided feedback, assistance and prompt quote in case we did need replacement water heater. When our water heater could not be fixed by another company, I contacted JLR after hours on a weekend not expecting a response. John responded promptly, had us scheduled first thing Monday morning, showed up on time and had a new one installed within a few hours. I appreciate Johns promptness, honest feedback on a few questions prior to purchasing a water heater from him.

John tried to un-cement the disposal, but my overzealous plunging had broken the seal so, though it would run, the old disposal leaked. John replaced the potato-y, leaky disposal with a sleek new one at a reasonable price. I will call him, gladly, for any further plumbing work that might be needed. He was great about communicating any snags he ran into and explaining what all needed to be fixed when our main water line started leaking.He has always arrived on time, sometimes even a little bit earlier. We also appreciate him asking for us to send him pictures of the problem instead of trying to figure out a good time to schedule him to come over and give an estimate. Great Plummer. I contacted John after getting multiple quotes from big companies. I was in need of a new hot water tank and after having multiple conversations with John we decided to upgrade my hot water tank from 50 gal to 75 gal. 50% more capacity and quite a bit more BTU’s. Also I wanted an entire home water softener and filtration system. I first called John on Wednesday and he had everything installed by Friday at 1:00pm. Quick, fast, efficient and a much better price than the big companies. John had the best prices and was great to work with. I will always support a small business owner over a large company any day. When my old Kenmore water heater died suddenly I reached out to multiple big box stores with installation programs that promised same day. When both came back with unreasonable bids, my wife and I searched the web in desperation doubtful that we could find a better solution. Lo and behold, we discovered JLR. Within 10 minutes of reaching out to John he had us a solid quote (less expensive than the other two, A LOT less than one of them) and same-day schedule. He then arrived promptly when he said he would, swiftly de-installed the old unit, and installed a new Bradford White. Other impressive things: the access to my basement, where the unit was, is a little tricky -- Ive had other installers complain. No issues from JLR! He navigated easily.Would totally go with JLR again and recommend him to others.

I contacted JLR plumbing, a one man operation, on a recommendation from a friend. Id had terrible experiences with other Spokane plumbing companies, gouging me with absurdly inflated bills, i.e. inflated by a factor of at least 5. They wouldnt bid a simple job over the phone, even with a photo of the problem. JLR asked for a picture and gave me a very reasonable, guaranteed price on a replacement water heater by email. When the job was done, John discovered there was no gas coming to the new machine. I told him the old machine had leaked through the gas regulator. Hed never seen that before, but he believed me. He went into the crawl space and discovered that the leak through the gas regulator had plugged three gas lines with water. The brand of flex pipe involved was no longer on the market but John found parts and fixed the problem. He saved me a fruitless house call from the gas fireplace company - that line was also plugged with water - and I believe that the work and trouble shooting would have cost me thousands more from shameless folks at Mainstream or Gold Seal. I cant recommend JLR highly enough.

John Ripley, of JLR Plumbing, fixed our gas fired boiler for our old hot water radiator system this morning. He is highly knowledgeable, thorough, kind and hard working.John made an emergency visit to our house this morning, making room for us in his already busy schedule. Our house heating system was down, 52 degrees and falling.He quickly diagnosed the problem after testing quite a few possible causes of the problem, tested the main electronic control valve, and found it faulty.He drove to his supplier, picked up the part, and was back in 1/2 hour. It took him a short time to install the new part, test the connections, test the system and we were fired up and the house was heating up. This is a 100 year old house with an antiquated system. I doubt if many other plumbers would even have the knowledge. His price was very reasonable.This Fall he replaced an old gas fired water heater. Again, quick diagnosis, fast and competent replacement. He tied it in to the old plumbing really well.Mr. Ripley is very knowledgeable, thorough and a kind, polite person. I highly recommend him for any plumbing problem. I have been a builder most of my life and have seen many plumbers and tradespeople. He is one of the best.Stanton D. Cobbs. 2/17/22
