When it became clear that our AC unit was struggling during the current heat wave, we called Dowe & Wagner Heating and Cooling and were very pleased that they were able to schedule a repair visit within 24 hours. Rich Hanson, the technician who evaluated our air conditioning system, was knowledgeable, professional, friendly, and courteous. He quickly identified the problem, explained what had happened to our unit and what was needed to fix it, and provided a detailed materials and labor estimate. After we authorized the service, Rich made the necessary repairs – and our house is now cooling perfectly!We highly recommend Dowe & Wagner’s quick response, great service, and decent pricing.

Ive been using Dowe & Wagner for over 10 years. They installed a new Furnace and AC and Ive used them for the routine maintenance ever since. To date I have had no issues with the Furnace or AC units. Apparently they sell quality equipment, and their techs do a good job at the yearly cleaning and check-up. Everyone there is polite and professional, and they are very accommodating when scheduling appointments.

Let me start off by stating that I would recommend Dowe & Wagner to anyone in search of a quality Heating or Air Conditioning Contractor! This original post was quite derogatory towards Dowe & Wagner on their Service Department. I was unhappy with the overall customer service experience I received and voiced my opinion here!I have only used Dowe & Wagner for HVAC needs for the past 10+ years and felt they were fast, reliable, and professional. Not cheap, but certainly not the most expensive, and knew what they were doing. One of the owners called to discuss my experience and to correct any misunderstanding I or they may have had. Since then, they have been doing whatever possible to ensure I, the customer, has the very best experience using Dowe & Wagner. Thank you to Tom & Marc for all your help.To anyone reading this, I would say that if your unhappy with Dowe & Wagner, instead of immediately writing a bad review, call and speak with management. They care and want you to be a happy and loyal customer.

I had called Dowe & Wagner over 3 years ago to repair my furnace. Then this year it broke down again after surviving the polar vortex. The serviceman repaired what he could and recommended that I replace it as soon as possible. He checked to be sure that fumes werent in the house. The next day I received a quote to replace the furnace. I selected one and scheduled the installation. All of the work was done in a timely manner. The installation was done quickly and professionally. Thank you!

Prompt friendly service. I called Monday at 8 am and they had a technician to the house in the afternoon. Rich, the technician, took time to explain the issue and then explained the options. Rich had to order a motor and it was installed the next day. Our A/C is working great. This is the second time I have had Dowe & Wagner out to service our furnace & A/C. Our air conditioning unit went out in the late afternoon on a Wednesday , we called Dowe and Wagner , they moved jobs around to come and inspect the air conditioner that same day . We were told that it could not be fixed and we needed a new unit. Currently I work at home and have computers that cannot withstand the heat . So they went back to the office and within and hour they called and had moved jobs around so they could install our air conditioner the next day . By 4:00 PM the new unit was installed and cooling our home, Their service is fantastic. Having Rich Hanson with Richmonds Dowe & Wagner, Inc. show up at my building was a lucky break for me. Originally, I called Black Diamond to find out why the boiler was clicking. It had never done it before and I wanted to be proactive before the boiler broke down. Black Diamond charged right around 1700.00 (Part of that was for a pipe section I wanted replaced because originally two different metals were put next to each other which caused disintegration.) and the clicking continued. About a month later the clicking stopped and so did the boiler. I called Black Diamonds office and left a message. No call back. I called Dowe & Wagner, Rich Hanson came out and said the clicking noise was a sound that the gas valve makes when it is malfunctioning. He put in a new gas valve and the cost was 540.00. I will call Rich Hanson in the future if I need boiler repair again.

From my century-old original coal-burning furnace to an ultra-modern 95% efficient smart furnace capable of being controlled remotely by your cellphone, Dowe and Wagner can handle it all - and I am living proof. I recently had a chance to Time Travel with Dowe and Wagner and found out first-hand what an incredibly adaptable and knowledgeable HVAC company they are.When I initially contacted D&W, it was to bid on replacing my ancient Winchester Boiler/Cast Iron Radiator heating system. Yes - it was manufactured by the same company that manufactured Winchester Firearms. It was installed new in ~ 1915 as a coal-fired Advancement over the drudgery of felling, cutting, splitting, hauling, stacking and burning wood. Over the decades, that same Winchester system was eventually converted to oil burning, then finally to natural gas. It is a gravity operated thermal-conduction hot water boiler/radiator system that has operated flawlessly for over a century, no matter what kind of fuel was used. But my electric went out during a cold snap and parts of the system froze up and burst. It was not pretty.I have a little experience as a handyman and so I bought two natural gas space heaters and temporarily hooked them up to prevent further damage from the cold and to give myself time to find a good HVAC company that could deal with the situation.It took a while to contact a company that still had the old knowledge necessary to deal with this system. Most of them simply said they didnt deal with the older stuff, several of them admitted that they were intimidated by it. I finally found Dowe and Wagner and they came right over. D&W has been around for over 70 years, they have seen it all, and they can deal with it all. I did look up their ratings on Google and found out that they were VERY highly recommended. I soon found out why.Tom Eppers came over, surveyed the situation, and gave me a number of options. They ranged from testing and replacing the bad radiators and pipes and trying to salvage the entire old boiler system, to replacing just the old Winchester Boiler and keeping the old radiators and pipes, to replacing the Boiler and keeping some of the old radiators and piping and replacing some of them with new baseboard radiators and PEX pipes, to replacing it all with new everything. (We also discussed the new independent Mini Split heating/cooling systems, which I had never heard of before - they are the ultimate in efficiency and cost-savings. I will probably have D&W install them upstairs this summer.)Tom took it all in, took lots of notes & measurements, asked a lot of questions, then asked me for some time to put it all together. When we met again Tom had put all of my options together with price tags on all of them. We talked for quite a while, then I asked for a little time to examine everything and think it over.We asked Tom how much it would cost to test out which parts needed replacing in the old system, and he said that if we went with his company he wouldnt charge anything more than the estimates he had already given us. (I know for a fact that he and his staff put in more time than he thought they would, but he was true to his word.)We decided to update to the newest and most efficient unit available, and D&W did a great job of putting it all together. Tom & the staff were pleasant, polite, and never left a mess - much to the delight of my better half! I should also mention that D&W gave me the best apples-to-apples price quote from among 4 HVAC companies bidding.The highest recommendation I can give is that when I do decide to replace the aging heating and A/C system upstairs, Dowe & Wagner will do it. I will go with one of the new Mini-Split A/C - Heating systems that Tom assures me will eventually pay for themselves relatively soon. Do yourself a favor, and make sure that D&W gets a chance to bid on YOUR next HVAC need.Ken Van Dyke

I purchased a new high efficiency furnace and air conditioning system along with an Evolution wi-fi controlled thermostat/humidity controller. Everything has been working flawlessly. The installers arrived when scheduled and worked hard to get everything to fit into my small utility room. The new thermostat was late to arrive from the factory but Dowe & Wagner installed a temporary thermostat to keep the systems running until the new Evolution arrived - at no extra charge! Highly recommended!

Me and my family had our AC unit poop out on us during some of the hottest days we had during the summer months, i cannot say much for the home warranty team as they sucked in getting my issue resolved. However i can speak volumes for the hard work, great customer service and everything else Dowe and Wagner did to help my family get back to a cool situation. I especially want to thank Ted Rojano who did the install and went above and beyond to ensure that my system was running properly. Thank Dowe and Wagner, I would definately reccomend you to anyone in need of HVAC service.

First time i had them come out they were prompt and courtesy on the phone and when the tech come too the house to get my air going again. I want to thank Rich hansen for getting my Air going.
