When you need an electrician, Express Electrical Service is a terrific company. We called them on Friday, and they came on Saturday, did all the work we needed in about half the time we expected, and did it right. We had called three 24/7 electricians before we found this company--all the others said, often rudely, as though we were asking the impossible, that they couldnt come until the following week. Our experience with Express was the opposite: Lisa, the woman who answered the phone, was courteous and efficient, and Jake, the electrician who did the work on Saturday, was outstanding.

Gordon called ahead to let us know when he would arrive; when he got there, he explained clearly what he would be doing in the yearly maintenance for our Generac. He said it would take about an hour, and he got to work quickly. After about an hour, he was done. I got a quote from Express Electrical Service in May of 2021 for a hot tub installation. While prices went up since then, they still gave me a very fair price for installing the hot tub in February of 2022. Despite the scope of the work changing from what was originally estimated, due to technicalities in the national electric code regarding things like line of sight visibility of the hot tub sub panel and minimum distance, they spent hours to work with me on finding a solution to get it installed. Everyone I have interacted with has been polite and professional, and despite allegedly losing money on the job (which I believe, based on the hours worked alone), they worked to make the situation right and get their work to pass inspection (it failed the first time due to conduit not being buried deep enough - 18 of depth above the top of the conduit is required). Seeing how they handle issues when things go wrong really says something about how a company operates, and based on this, Id hire them for future work.

The service I received was phenomenal! I got a Ring Floodlight camera as a gift but the nearest existing floodlight I could use to replace with the Ring camera was nearly 25ft up near the roof of my home. At that height the camera wouldnt be useful at capturing motion in my immediate back yard.Trey (the EES electrician) took the time to survey the situation and formulated a solution that would lower the camera to a more optimal position. He managed to wire and place a floodlight camera on a part of the house that had no existing wiring in place to connect to. Not only that, he made the effort to make the the light look as though it was part of the structure of the house rather than letting cables dangle or run from the light mount. Trey did a great job and went above and beyond for no extra charge.Most minor electrical jobs I feel confident in doing myself but I can promise that for anything major Express Electrical has proven twice to me that they will be my go-to electricians for the job.

Things were perfect.5/21 update - This is the second time weve used Express Electrical Service - this time for a bunch of electrical improvements/upgrades to our new-to-us house. They were fantastic - the techs (Gordon and Lamon) really knew their stuff, explained everything as they worked, offered advice/etc, and completed the job on time and without issue. It was a large, varied list of improvements and lighting additions, and were thrilled with the results. To top it off, the price was great. Fantastic service! These guys know what theyre doing. They are on-time, do what they tell you theyre going to do, and their pricing is very reasonable. I had two bedrooms wired for ceiling fans where no overhead lighting existed. The price quoted is what I paid. My guys arrived when they said they were going to arrive and finished both bedrooms in under 3 hours. I was impressed. I love that I didnt have to worry about any extra fees or extra time. Competent and Friendly ServiceThis is the second time I have had Tim working in my home. Matter of fact, I was willing to wait two weeks while he was on another job for him to come back. I am so pleased with his work and he is very polite and efficient. I was having a problem with a non-working outlet and also needed a dimmer on a switch for a chandelier. It was done quickly and was reasonably priced. I will not hesitate to ask for Tim again if I have a need for a repair or new work done!

Utilized this business when my power went out over Christmas.Gordon arrived on time and was very pleasant. He reviewed my issue and determined it was Duke Power related after all. (Duke advised I needed an electrician in error). Ultimately he was not able to assist me, but I will use this company again if I need an electrician. Their offices were closed but, they were the only place that actually had an emergency tech available (Gordon). Some places said 24/7 but their lines just rang with no answer. Gordon genuinely wanted to assist. I left the experience with a good impression even if they couldnt get my power back on. Good customer service goes along way.

Revised review: The company did refund the charge error per their reply below. As I said the technician was very professional and good. Lisa at the office was extremely nice and informative.The technician was great but I will not call them again because their prices are way too high. It was $700 to get an attic fan replaced. I had them do some work previously and seemed reasonable but this was way too high. I would have called someone else but would still have had to pay the diagnostic fee. I will be looking for a different electrician.

Their electrician (Jason) did a superb job of troubleshooting a very tricky issue and had it fixed in short order. Best experience ever with an electrical company. I needed two new junction boxes put in the ceiling of two different rooms, a ceiling fan moved, and nine lights installed. Two of these were extremely heavy chandeliers. Donald and Charles came out. I was given a quote before work started. The price was extremely reasonable. Im really picky about things -- Donald was able to drop the junction box perfectly in the center of my powder room!! They were very communicative about my options on the other junction box and installed it well. All the work was completed in a very timely manner and they cleaned up nicely after themselves. I highly recommend Express. Just gave their number to my son-in-law!!

Ive had to call this company twice but only had to use the service once. I will say, if I ever need another service done, I WILL be calling them!The first time I called was a weekend. I was told that it would be higher fees due it being an emergency service outside of normal business hours. Thankfully, I was able to save myself the money and fix the problem temporarily.The second time I called was when my main breaker blew. I called before service hours but asked that the technician wait till normal hours to come. The tech (Trey) showed up around 12:30 and immediately figured out the problem. He left to get parts and had my new breaker box in place and power turned on by 3:30. I was VERY pleased with the quality of service AND THE PRICE!!! It was honestly less than I originally estimated! All in all, if I ever need work done again, this company will be the first one I call!

Simply the best. They show up on time, are neat, respectful, and do a great job. They are honest and ethical, and as a Realtor, they are the only electrical company I recommend. This part of the review is being written five months after the first part. Express Electrical continues to be the only electricians I will use. Their electricians are very well informed. The company is based on values and ethics, rather than on just making as much money as possible. They are responsive, cooperative, and they offer free estimates, something unheard of in their industry. Dont waste your time look at other electricians. Just call Express Electrical. Service was prompt, price was fair and they worked with us and local inspectors to expedite the process in order to restore power within the same day after a car crashed in our yard and ripped utility wires off our home. They accidentally overcharged me but quickly let me know about the matter and issued a credit in form of a check the same day. Would recommend and use again in a pinch.

I initially left Express a negative review after the outlets in our dining room stopped working after they had come to address a problem with flickering lights. After talking with the owner, they came out again and identified the problem, which turned out to be the fault of another electrician wed had install some GFI outlets in our kitchen leaving a broken wire in the back of the receptacle box. Express came out and fixed the problem someone else had made, and while they were a little more expensive than several other electricians I priced, they were very thorough and did both jobs right the first time. Would definitely use them again in the future.

He offered advice as to the right bulb to use for the dimmable fixture. He was very neat and avoided leaving any mess. He was on time for the appointment and called in advance before he arrived. They were at my house for an estimate within 24 hours of my email inquiry, and scheduled the work immediately. What a rip off.

Gordon showed up within 1 hour of my call late on a Friday knowing I had no hot water. He quickly and efficiently diagnosed the problem, which was a tripping ground fault relay that powered my hot water heater. He isolated all the circuits one by one and found the source of the trip to be a wet extension cord feeding my outside up-lights fed from the same circuit. He corrected the problem and my family was able to shower again! Highly recommend these guys.

I called Express Electric to install a ceiling fan in our bedroom, which has 15 cathedral ceilings. On top of it, the geometry of the hallway leading to the bedroom would only allow for a 10 step ladder. Express sent 6-6 Gordon, who arrived promptly at the scheduled time after calling ahead to let me know exactly when he would arrive. He ran into a couple of small obstacles that werent anticipated, but worked through them without a hitch. There was a small upcharge to install an electrical box rated for a ceiling fan, but I had a feeling that our existing box might need to be replaced going into the job. All in all, a great experience...prompt, neat work, courteous, polite, efficient. The amount charged was exactly what was quoted plus the cost of the upgraded electrical box. I would not hesitate to use Express Electric again, and would definitely recommend them if a friend or relative asked for a referral.
