Alan repaired a door that wouldn’t stay closed and when it was closed, it was drafty. He showed me the issues with the door and was able to “MacGyver” it despite faults by the builder years ago regarding the door frame and the screws used. His prices are reasonable as well. By the time he left, I felt like I’d made a new friend!

I reached out to Alan on Tuesday, 12/19 for an online estimate. He responded within the hour for more details and within the next hour, he provided me with a quote for the services I requested. He offered to come on Wednesday but I had other errands to run so we settled on Thursday morning.I had two existing ceiling fans that I wanted replaced with two remote controlled ceiling fans. Alan arrived promptly and professionally installed both of the ceiling fans. There were some unforeseen difficulties but Alan walked me through the issues and explained possible solutions. I loved that he kept me informed throughout the process and that he was able to successfully install both of the ceiling fans.In addition, he provided some helpful feedback on a project I had done earlier in the summer that was done incorrectly and I had not even noticed.Alan is very knowledgeable regarding home repairs and I definitely plan to use him again. It can be difficult to find someone who takes pride in his work and is reasonable and fair with their pricing. I needed 3 18x24 frames hung in my home. I reached out to the Raleigh Handyman, and he replied very quickly (within a couple of hours). He asked for clarification regarding the type of backing on the frame, and I sent him a picture of the back of the frames. He provided a quote and let me select a time for him to arrive. The day before the appointment, he confirmed that I still needed him to come out. He arrived on time and was super friendly. I thought I wanted the frames 2 inches apart, but he advised me to measure the whole wall so that I could appropriately consider how the aesthetic will look and ensure that no awkward spaces were left behind. I really appreciated his advice. He was kind enough to talk me through his process so that I understood how everything was being hung. Everything turned out beautiful. The price was very reasonable compared to other companies I had researched. Very happy with the work performed.

We didnt expect the shelves themselves to be broken, but they were, so he went to Home Depot with me to buy new shelves and brackets and put them up and fixed all the holes left by the prior shelves breaking and falling down. He responded to me within a couple hours of my initial email, and was there the next afternoon. Prompt, reliable, helpful, and great work. I think this is the second review I’ve ever written so me taking the time to write this should be a testament itself. The Raleigh handyman, Alan, is the absolute best to work with. Responds very quick, high-quality work, friendly, and super trustworthy. I found him on Google and first reached out to him in 2019 to mount a TV and help with installing a light fixture. He called back within 45 minutes of me reaching out and was able to squeeze me in that day, which I was not expecting at all. Great price and excellent service! I recently reached back out to him and received the same awesome customer service. He called back within a few minutes of me sending a text and was able to fit me in within that next day. He mounted two TV’s in no time and also installed new shower fixtures. While he was here, he also provided advice for other random inquiries I had at no cost. Alan is great to work with and I have recommended him to multiple friends who have had the same experience (I wouldn’t expect anything less of him). It’s hard to find reliable and trustworthy home repairmen these days so I am thrilled to have found The Raleigh Handyman and I look forward to continuing to use him in the future!

Alan is absolutely the best handyman available. First, he’s very professional given how responsive he is to return calls about requested work. His professionalism also shows through his dress/appearance (Alan’s the “best dressed” handyman I’ve ever hired) as well as his communication with you about the progress of his work; he does a great job explaining what needs to be done and how he’ll complete the job. Second, he’s a great problem-solver. Just call him the “MacGyver” of handyman services. Several times I’ve witness Alan resolve an issue with a job (most recently, a tile-flooring job) with creativity and ingenuity; he simply won’t quit until he fixes the issue. I believe that this never-quit attitude comes from how Alan told me when I first hired him that he’d complete my work as though it was his own home; and Alan, a.k.a. “MacGyver”, does just that! Finally, Alan is trustworthy. I am a very private individual. But, I’d have no problem leaving Alan alone in my home with my wallet laying out on the kitchen counter. The man is honest and dependable—the kind of person you can have a beer/glass of wine/or a coke with and just talk about life in a friendly way; Alan definitely won’t take advantage of his customers. It’s for all these reasons that I won’t call any other handyman service; if Alan happens to be busy for a few days, I’m willing to wait on him to do my needed work. He’s that great! So, hire Alan yourself and then get prepare to experience his excellent handyman service.

Alan has been very helpful to me and my mother. He has repaired a door that came out of its track, a sink plumbing issue and the biggest challenge of all replacing deadbolt locks in our doors. What should have been a simple replacement was not. The deadbolts were actually bigger by just a small amount so the existing holes had to be enlarged and that is not an easy task on metal doors. Anyway that setback did not frustrate alan and he soldiered on. He is on time, friendly and knowledgeable. Thanks Alan.

I have used him twice once on replacing a garbage disposal in which he did everything he could to not but it was just time for another, and he replaced my hot water heater reserve pipe and I havent had any problems out of either. He also has reasonable prices and if he doesnt have what he needs ( because I didnt have all the correct parts he didnt hesitate to go and get them without extra charge ) he also gave me a tip on how to keep the blades sharpened.
