    I hired Volt Doctors to make a number of overdue electrical repairs and improvements at my 45 year old house. Steven H. provided a detailed estimate ahead of time and answered all of my questions in a friendly and respectful manner. He and Henry were a great team on the first day of upgrades and I was especially impressed with their coordination installing a new ceiling fan in my living room with very limited attic access. Throughout the job, Steven consistently checked in with me on my installation preferences, which I really appreciated. Upgrades included replacing and moving outlets and lights, adding a new 20 amp circuit, adding a new 15 amp circuit, and installing a new ceiling fan and switch. Everything passed inspection with the City of Raleigh a couple days later. Overall I am very happy with their work and recommend Volt Doctors without reservation.

    Ashley Beck came out at 7am on a Sunday to replace a part so we could get our power restored quickly. He was knowledgeable, quick, and was able to talk with our power company directly to get everything squared away and set.     Easy to deal with, quick appointments. Tech Eric diagnosed my fire hazard very fast and fixed loose wires and a charring/melting breaker. He was professional, courteous and thorough. Was very impressed and I actually recommended him to my neighbor.

    I had a great experience with Volt Doctors. They were extremely responsive by phone and email when scheduling an estimate and the actual work and when answering questions about my quote. Their quote was lower than others and included the cost for a work permit. Hunter and Ashley were friendly, knowledgeable, and incredibly efficient at installing multiple ceiling fans and a new outlet at my house. They make a great team and clearly take pride in their work. They also gave me helpful tips about my houses wiring and how to troubleshoot (unrelated to the projects they were working on). I am already thinking of more home improvement projects and plan to use Volt Doctors and ask for Hunter and Ashley again when Im ready to schedule.Edit 8/2023: I had Hunter and Ashley come back for another project to install recessed lights in several rooms and a new wall outlet. They did another great job. Again, very efficient, knowledgeable, and friendly. The office staff are also easy to work with. The work from our first project and the lights and outlet from this project are all working great. Thanks again!

    Great experience from start to finish! The Volt Doctors were prompt to schedule a consultation after discussing my project over the phone. They scheduled the work within a reasonable time and quoted a fair price. Work was carried out with quality and integrity.     We had major damage with the recent storm and lost power from dislodged electrical box. The entire team here was so responsive and helpful. They even arrived earlier than planned, gave us text and picture updates by phone. Could pay on site via card. Even after service completed, we needed a fuse change to get the AC on, they came right back the next AM first thing and fixed that within minutes. I was expecting long delays and normal frustrations, but Volt Doctors completely exceeded expectations with great service!

    An electrical problem with lights and outlets not working on Sunday, Jan 28. Volt Doctors called as they are one of a few compannies that answer weekend and afterhours calls.They charged $459.03 which was comprised ofa $259 Diagnostic fee,a $69.00 Afterhours dispatch fee, anda $99.00 troubleshooting feeonly to tell me the problem was a Duke Energy problem!Following my posting of the above review as one star, I was contacted by Mr. Clark, Owner of Volt Doctors. After hearing my concern, he refunded $259 Diagnostic fee and gave me his personal phone number in case I had further concers.

    The team provided great and timely service for my kitchen upgrades. Where cuts had to be made, they were small and repaired. Would recommend always getting an estimate from this team. They may not be the cheapest but you get what you pay for. Excellent work thats up to code.

    First, I’d like to recognize Tiffany, the dispatcher who took our initial phone call. She was professional and understanding about our concerns. She gave us an estimated time when the technician would arrive and an estimated cost — she was correct on both counts. Excellent customer serviceThe tech, Andy, arrived as predicted and was already aware of our issue. He quickly ran some diagnostics and identified the suspected problem. He was very personable and easy to work with. His evaluation of our home’s electrical system and distribution panel was very reassuring.

    Eric Stocks has been to our house once before. Lucky for us he was sent out to our most recent repair. He was communicative about his availability/arrival time, offered options for the repair with varying costs, listened to our needs/concerns and explained terms that we weren’t clear about without being condescending. Overall probably the best experience we’ve had with a technician. We’ll definitely ask for Eric the next time we call Volt Doctors.

    The electricians of Volt Doctors are very professional and have excellent knowledge of their trade. Steven and his team installed 2 circuits in our house and relocated some wall outlets in our kitchenet. They are very easy to communicate with, give a quote and schedule the work quickly. They obtained a permit from the city before they started and got the work inspected after they finished. They might not be the cheapest company but they know how to get the job done and they dont cut corners which is critical for safety of people and property.Tiffany in the office is great to coordinate the work and make appointments. She responds to emails very quickly. Shes an exception these days since many contractors schedule estimates several weeks and work itself several months in the future!My special thanks go to Steven for his excellent work and professionalism. He wouldnt mind coming back to fix an issue caused by the backsplash installation. Not only did he come back but also did it for free. They were also fair in lowering the final payment because they didnt have to move all outlets. A lower payment amount than the estimate is not something I see often. I didnt even have to ask them for an adjustment.Volt Doctors was recommended to me by my plumber, Curry at Full Stack Plumbing, and I owe him big thanks for that. I would call Volt Doctors and Steven 1st for my future electrical needs.

    I am so pleased! I had my first diagnostic appointment today with Eric Stocks. I had an appointment and he came right on time and called first. I have a number of projects that need doing in my aging home. He made several great suggestions and checked and repaired outlets in my home as part of diagnostics. He explained things thoroughly. I already have my estimate. Eric was friendly and knowledgeable. I cant say enough great things about him! I look forward to working with him

    Ashley came to our house after a lightning strike and was absolutely awesome. He installed a surge protector in our main fuse panel to protect it in the future, he replaced 2 GFIs, a flood light and diagnosed a downed ethernet line as well as a dishwasher. He was on time, personable and very helpful, I have nothing but the highest praise for him and his company.

    I contacted Volt Doctor about 2 weeks ago to put a ceiling fan in my bedroom, which is huge. Todd came out, gave me a quick quote to rewire my outlet and switch, and then less than a week later he came and did the entire thing in less than 2 hours. The price was definitely a bit steeper than I expected, but then again I was asking for a fan installation with no existing wiring and for a complete rewire of my light switch and outlet, so Im not too surprised. He was professional, punctual, and very friendly. My room is now much cooler and in the middle of this heat wave, I couldnt be happier!

When Eric came out to give us a free estimate, he clearly explained what would need to be done for the various electrical projects we were considering, as well as the costs involved.     UPDATE: I was contacted by the owner of Volt Doctor and he went above and beyond to make this right.I am still shocked at the level of service we got to address this mistake. Initially, I wouldnt have recommended this company but after experiencing how much they care, I would recommend using Volt Doctor.We contacted Volt Doctors to fix issues with our breakers.1. They did not fix the issue2. When I called for them to return to re-evaluate, they never showed3. When I contacted again they said they had returned, when they never did, and when I asked again for an appointment I never heard back from them.

    I contacted Volt Doctors through Home Advisor on Sunday, not expecting to hear anything back until Monday, but Todd emailed me back right away and we set up a time on Monday for a tech to come out. Eric called to let me know he was on his way as I was told he would. He was professional and personable. I told him the history of the problem and where I was at the time. He took a look at a few things, and fixed it pretty quickly. He even managed to get through the gate I use to keep the dog out of the room without asking me how to work it! I am happy with the service provided and will hang on to the business card in case I need him again!

    UPDATE - The owner saw my review and was very genuine about helping with the repairs and making things right. Really appreciate their customer service.OLD - We hired Volt Doctors to install 13 can lights around our house. In order to help them know where they’d go, I marked with painters tape where I wanted them. Unfortunately what they didn’t tell me, after cutting 6 inch squares in every rooms ceiling, was that if I had placed them in different locations (due to the ceiling joists), that they wouldn’t have had to cut square holes for the junction boxes.Worst thing - the electricians left huge messes with wire pieces all over the floor and didn’t patch or fix the ceiling where they cut the holes. Even after patching and painting, I can still see where each hole is, and my ceilings will never look the same again.

    I had the fortunate experience of speaking with and working with Andy. I recently purchased an electric vehicle and its a lot of new information in regards of how to charge your car in your home. There are heavy warning signs that come up in the vehicle if you are not careful so I wanted to contact a company to receive a professional opinion. Andy took his time to call me back and answer all of my questions. Ill be purchasing a home soon and will definitely look forward to utilizing their services again.     Luke H is the best electrician I have seen. It took him just seconds to figure out what the problem was and was able to fix my outdoor receptacles .     We had Eric S come out and replace our old Gould panel with a new Square D Homeline panel. Also, we had a new high amp circuit added to our backyard shed. The homeowner (me) did not arrange the inspector to come out in time, but Eric took it in stride and worked on the outdoor circuit. Today the panel was installed and approved by inspector. This time, the electric company was late coming out to turn off power and Eric had a revolving door of inspectors checking his progress. So kudos to Eric and the Volt Doctors being flexible. They were a great value and Eric has always been available by phone or text. Highly recommend.

    Had a pool and shed wired in by Eric Stocks of Volt Doctors in Raleigh NC. Eric was professional, friendly and very skilled and knowledgeable. He went above and beyond what I expected.     Had an issue with an outlet that was tripping out A/C unit to shut off. Eric S came out and quickly diagnosed the problem. Not only did he fix the problem he educated me on how to resolve it on my own in the future. We had used this company previously to replace some outlets in our home and had a good experience then. I wasn’t disappointed with this visit and they are always the first we call when we have an electrical issue in our home. Definitely recommend.

    We called and Mike arrived by noon. He determined the problem within 10min and removed the part that was broken and took it to the store and got the replacement part. He came back and installed it without any issues (well he never complained to us about any issues). He was very nice and got the job done and we now have running water again!You dont appreciate things like running water until it stops....thank you for making it a priority to get our water running again!

    I had a someone complicated issue with a receptacle in my house (its an old house with some crazy wiring) that required a couple trips out to diagnose. After having a small issue with a first diagnostic and payment, the owner called me directly and was able to offer a solution that worked.The owner appeared to be very sincere in his attempt to make the situation right and do whatever is needed to do so. I appreciate the quick response and willingness to work with me on this. You can tell there is a lot of pride in the work here. The electricians and ownership are great to work with and after seeing how they handle a problem I will be returning as a customer. Thank you.

    I found Volt Doctors off of Angies List....and quite frankly wasnt expecting much as other times I have gotten contractors off the site they have been less than stellar. BUT I can say Volt Doctors came through great! James the electrician came out and was thorough and professional and willing to work with my schedule. Would hire again.

    Volt Doctors installed two ceiling fans at my house, one inside and one on the front porch. The technician, Michael Carrigan, was very pleasant, professional and did what he promised, staying to complete the job until 9 pm. I feel confidant the job was done correctly. Two things keep this review from being a 5-star. There was some mix-up at the office regarding his arrival time. It was supposed to be between 8 and 8:30 am, but they failed to convey to me that it would not be until midday, due to a scheduling change. Secondly, Volt Doctors prices seemed a bit high to me. As I wanted the job done & dont know enough about other vendors in this area, I did not get another quote. They were recommended on our Next Door web site. Otherwise, I am satisfied with the job they did.

    I wish we had called Volt Doctors first! After a nightmare experience with another local electrician, we called Volt Doctors; Todd was our technician. They were thorough and able to quickly diagnose the electrical issue with clear communication and follow up. Not only did they fix our issue, they did it right (obtaining proper permits, etc.) and were professional throughout the process which was a breath of fresh air. In the future, we wont hesitate to use Volt Doctors for our electrical service needs.

    John Parella and Volt Doctors, from start to finish, made every step of powering up our new well effortless and as quick as possible. We have running water now! The office was fantastic, responsive and proactive about permitting with Orange County, and John stayed in communication with me about every step of the installation of the power to our well (which is a multi-step process). We appreciate the hustle and detailed focus to make sure this happened as quickly and correctly as it could. As always, top notch service in every step with Volt Doctors Electric!

    UPDATE: In a time where customer service is lacking, Volt Doctors owner, Andy, was sure to show up. Andy reviewed my invoice and noticed an error and immediately contacted me after reading my review. Andy has rectified the situation and has definitely earned my business in the future. Customer service is very imoortant to the livelihood of a business. And Im very appreciative that it was recognized today.I do not know enough about electrical and had no problem hiring a professional. They were able to come out the next day, diagnosed the issue in less than 15 minutes and had the repair done in about another 15 minutes. What i wasnt prepared for was the repair costing $260. I had a bad outlet. Something that would have cost maybe $20 if i had other resources now cost me $400+ (that includes the diagnostic fee).

    Ivan did a great job with my dryer problem. My problem is with the cost. I thought the $179. diagnosis charge was to be applied to the total cost. Ivan was here about an hour. I did not receive an estimate, and after the work was done, I was presented with a bill for $446. which I feel is excessive for one hour work, travel, and small parts cost.     I was very pleased with the response and service I received from Volt Doctors. I was in need of electrical work and had called several companies only to get voice mail. When they finally called back it was more than a week before someone could come out. I then called Volt Doctors, the owner answered and walked me through the problem I was having. He replaced that section of the wire. It proved to be an easy fix. Other electricians had suggested more costly and invasive solutions that might solve our problem.     I asked Volt Doctors Eric S. to quote an attic fan fix / replacement. It didnt need to be fixed and it had it working in 2 minutes. He was very decent about it.Since he made the trip I asked him about a possible electrical issue to a A/C heat exchanger. He found a blackened wire & replaced it right then. He tested and found a blown fuse. He gave specific information about a disconnect should it need to be replaced. The ultimate cause was the 20 amp fuses were below minimum. These things are always obvious in hindsight. but he helped get me there.The point is, Eric was polite, knew his stuff and genuinely and sought to get it done without putting fees before everything else. Excellent.

    During the closing of our house the Home Inspector had called out about an improrper Electric Junction Box in the Attic. I had not gotten aorund getting this inspected and fixed. Volt Doctors was running specials on Inspection and I got it scheduled. Eric promptly came at the scheduled time. I received a text the morning to remind me of the appointment. Eric also called me ahead. He throughly inspected, asked me of any questions/concerns, looked at the Attic Box and provided me with an estimate and recommendations on the items he found during the inspection. He did the job with his heart as if this was his house. I would not hesitate to recommend and hire him for any Electrical that I have. By the way Eric gave me a good estimate and I requested him if he could take care of it. He took care of it the same day and I was lucky that he had all the parts that was needed. I am very pleased with him and the company.
