I am the manager of the Gordon Square Special Improvement District in Cleveland. I contacted Fred Alert from the Alert Pioneer Plumbing Company to resolve a clogged drain issue which had been creating severe sidewalk flooding issues at a very busy intersection in the district. Fred was very responsive and extremely effective at resolving this issue in a timely manner. He also explained the nature of the problem and shared his digital imaging so that we could make longer term repairs if desired. Simply put, this is the plumbing company youve been searching for in NE Ohio. After giving our toddler a bath and putting her to bed, we found that the tub water wed drained had somehow backed up and overflowed out of our first floor toilet. Not pretty.We called Alert Pioneer Plumbing due to their stellar reviews and within an hour of talking with Fred, his team member Gabriel was at the house unblocking our homes main sewer line, which had caused the water to back up into the main stack and escape through the lowest point - the toilet. Gabriel was wonderful - friendly, efficient, and a great communicator.A week later, we unfortunately encountered yet another plumbing issue. To make it worse, it was on a Sunday morning. Once again we looked to Alert Pioneer Plumbing hoping for a fast rescue as we had family coming in that day from out of town. This time, Fred himself came out on that very Sunday morning and worked tirelessly into the afternoon to solve our problem. Fred used his state-of-the-art equipment coupled with his years of trade experience to isolate the problem and painstakingly resolve it within a matter of hours. We had a leak in the cold water line behind our vanity and the shut off valve was broken. We have always struggled to find an honest and reliable plumber in the 14 years we have owned our home. The drywall was wet and soggy and it was something we wanted to address ASAP before it did anymore damage. We called The Alert Pioneer Plumbing Company and left a message. Within minutes, I received a text from Fred saying he could possibly squeeze me in next day in the afternoon, but it was dependent on how their morning job went. He said he would would keep in touch. In the meantime, another company I called told me they could get me in for sure next day in the afternoon, so I told Fred we were taken care of. But after a little research on the other company we found they had no license and there were some concerning news articles we saw on the owner. So I reached back out to Fred and once again, he responded within minutes asking if I could make early morning work. I agreed because I felt it was urgent to get it fixed. Gabriel promptly showed up at 7 a.m. and he was extremely friendly and professional. He put on booties which we really really appreciated! Right from the start that showed that he would respect our home. He had a tight space to work with, but he quickly diagnosed where the leak was and what needed to be done. He explained that he would have to cut out drywall and made sure we were ok with what he was doing before he started.He not only fixed that issue, but he also fixed another small leak coming from the drain in the vanity sink AND he cleaned up after himself! Some might say their hourly rate is a bit high because honestly thats how I felt when Fred mentioned their pricing. But when you see the quality of work, the professionalism and the respect for your home, it makes every penny you spend with them worth it. They know what they are doing and they are honest, so you might just end up saving money compared to what another plumber might charge. They are so knowledgeable, skilled and CLEAN and you just dont find that very often in the plumbing industry. Im so glad I found them and I highly recommend them!

I had noticed a terrible sewer gas smell in my house, particularly in the basement. I looked for a plumber, and I chose Alert based on the stellar reviews. Fred and Gabe were able to come to my house within a few days of my call (I want to stress that this wasnt at all an emergency, so there was no rush). They arrived within the given time and even texted to let me know they were on the way (a huge help, since it allowed me to wrangle my dog). They figured out the problem very quickly and took immediate action to correct it. I was initially worried that it was going to be a costly repair, but the fix wound up being very reasonable, and Fred was communicative about price every step of the way. The entire process, from booking to payment, was very easy, and Fred and Gabe were both great at communicating the problem and were both very professional. I hope to not need a plumber again for a while, but, if I do, Alert will definitely be my first call!

Weve been having irregular--but consistent--sewage back-up in our basement. Fred Alert came on site and--using a camera--scoped our entire pipes all the way to the sewer. He showed me the video to demonstrate that they were clean--no problems there! He was sure the problem was coming from the sewer itself.Without a doubt, an expert in this situation could have pointed to all sorts of things in the video--or not shown me the video at all--to persuade me I had a big problem that would cost lots of money. Not only did you save me tons of money I would have wasted on companies that said I would need to have my outside dug up to get to pipes and others that were going to tear up my kitchen floor you came in and worked till you solved the problem then used a power jet to blow the problem out of the pipes. Highly recommended: excellent work, communication, and covid safety. I was having several plumbing issues in my house. One issue was a clogged sink drain. But I was also having bigger problems that turned out to be a clogged main line. Fred showed me the clog on the camera and then explained how it happened. (There are ledges inside the drain line caused by concrete around the joint.) They cleared the clogs and left everything the way they found it. In fact, some things were CLEANER when they left! My sink had a nasty residue inside it from standing water before they arrived. That was completely cleaned out when they left! Also, they are very conscientious about COVID. They arrived wearing masks. Fred later informed me about their vaccination status and asked if I would like them to continue wearing masks or if it was ok to remove them. I asked if they would please continue wearing them (I was also wearing one) because my daughter is too young to get vaccinated. They voiced no issue with that and continued wearing masks the entire time they were inside my house. This was greatly appreciated!

Fred made the arrangements and Joe at Alert Pioneer Plumbing came at the time he said and had all the professional tools needed to get our kitchen drain unplugged. We moved into a new home for us and the drain was severely plugged. We tried unsuccessfully using a power self feeding snake we had rented (the snake was kinked up and couldn’t be used). Joe used a camera to check the pipe out and used a water jet to clear the pipe. Joe and Fred are real pros and showed personal attention which you don’t see much in this world. Thanks!
