Ive been using McCoy Plumbing since we moved back to Charlotte in 2012. They are extremely reliable, honest, fair, and responsive. Ive used them probably 15-20 times. Because they are family owned and operated, Im never left wondering who the technician will be. Today, it was Josh. He was good as usual. We had a water filter system installed very quickly.

Hes been in my home 4 times, and he is absolutely top-notch. Josh has been with McCoy Plumbing 20 years, and I hope he’ll be there another 20, because I don’t ever want to call anyone else. I want to share what I know is a highly unusual experience with a plumbing company but I think it speaks volumes about McCoy Plumbing and Rick McCoy.My son and daughter-in-law moved into a new house and discovered a 3 round circle of deep mud right outside the house in an area that hasnt seen rain for weeks. It was readily apparent that this was either a broken sewer or supply line and needed attention quickly.Somewhat new to the area, we called and texted pictures to several plumbers seeking help. The estimated cost for fixing whatever this was ranged anywhere from $1,200 to $3,600 and would take several days at best to get someone out. Some quotes included a $500 - $600 charge just to come out and find the leak - repairs would be additional. I didnt actually get to speak to a plumber in these cases and the estimates were based on the pictures and text messagesI called McCoy Plumbing based only on positive reviews in the Charlotte area and was fortunate enough to actually get Rick on the phone. Though it was after normal working hours, Rick drove over and he examined the issue and crawled under the house. All for no charge. He proceeded to go through all the options for testing what and where the issue might be and how I might do this myself to save money if I was willing . Over the course of the next few days, Rick carried on a daily dialogue with me. I did some digging (literally) and he talked me through the water supply line repair.With his help, I was able to locate the leak, replace the section of pipe, buy the needed fittings, etc. I was able to complete this for a few dollars worth of supplies and some of my own manual labor. Rick even called me several times just to check my progress. I have never had that level of help and concern from any contractor.Rick told me that often as these pipes age, more leaks may develop and we may indeed need to replace the full line eventually. But his help and his generosity with his time sure saved the day. Truly exceptional.I dont live in the NC area, so it is sure comforting to me to know that in the event this problem or any plumbing issue arises, my son and daughter-in-law have his name and this company to turn to.

Left a VM about our issue at our office and he called back to walk me through the solution -- all the while thinking about how best to avoid unnecessary work / expense. I wish every home maintenance experience could be this easy! Eddie and Lee were friendly and professional. They arrived on time and performed the work quickly and cleanly. They were very respectful of my home, which I appreciate. They worked separately, installing one toilet each, and it seemed like they got it done in no time at all. They even removed the packing materials from the new toilets, which I had purchased on my own. I chatted with Eddie about replacing my water heater and he gave me advice and a quote. Ill definitely be calling McCoy Plumbing whenever I need plumbing work done.The woman I spoke with on the phone (Mary Jane?) was helpful and pleasant too. An all-round excellent experience.They were significantly less expensive than other firms.

McCoy Plumbing has fixed/replaced many things for us over the past several years: our hot water heater, bladder tank, shower heads and leaky pipes. I have called in a panic each time and someone has always answered the phone. On a couple of occasions we actually needed a well or septic company and they were able to tell me who to call after I texted a few pictures of our issue. They’re great!!

One of the times I personally was not home, but another time I was walked through each step of the service performed which made me confident in the quality of work. I have nothing but great things to say about Rick at McCoy Plumbing. We had a blocked sewage pipe and Rick called me, walked me through how to troubleshoot the issue and helped to identify the problem was the cities responsibility. The other companies I called were ready to send a crew to rip up my yard and charge me 10k+. This type of customer service is hard to find these days. I can’t say enough good things about McCoy. I called with an emergency leak under my house and they came out within 2 hours. Their techs quickly diagnosed the problem and called me while under the house to explain what had happened and the repairs that needed to be done (replaced pressure switch). The repair was done quickly, professionally and at a very reasonable price (much cheaper than I expected). They will be my go to plumbers from now on. Highly recommend!

McCoy Plumbing installed a sink in my garage last week. It was an excellent process. The scheduling was great, the plumber showed up on time and was very friendly. He did a great job of installing the sink and so far I love it. Ive already used it a few times and it not only works great, but it looks great to. The staff kept the work area clean and made sure I was 100% happy before he left. McCoy plumbing when above and beyond. I will use them again in the future.
