Our water heater started leaking on the late morning December 31st. AP Plumbing was able to setup a morning appointment on January 2nd and by 3pm same day we have hot water again. Roy was super professional and quick!

Called about a water tank pilot light that was out. Tommy was my service tech and was excellent at explaining what the issue was and fixing it. Took about ten minutes. Charge was $224. Service was excellent but price was a little steep so will probably look elsewhere next time. Be sure to ask what the price for the service will be when you call. Five stars for the quality of service received.

I had Roto Rooter out to my home yesterday because they were the first to be able to get here for a clogged/backing up sewerline in my 100 year old home in the University Neighborhood. After some snaking they said they were hitting a break in my sewerline and that I had two breaks that they were unable to get through, and then called in their salesguy to try and sell me on a complete dig out and replacement for over 20k (and charged me $1800 upfront for snaking and power jetting).I work in contracting and I immediately sensed something was off and I saw the scare tactics and showmanship being performed by Roto Rooter.Called AP Plumbing after Roto Rooter left and was given a window of 12-5pm next-day.John Messick called ahead of time and showed up almost 2 hours early. I shared my observations Ive had with my plumbing/sewer drainage system, and what my gut was saying with him since living here, and my experience from the day prior. He listened and gave me good feedback about all that before even getting started, and I knew immediately I was dealing with a much more competent, honest, and professional company.The next thing I noticed is that John was very thorough in his analysis and trade/workmanship, and he was exactly how I would be for my own customers. He also would periodically call me into the basement to explain where he was at in the process and his findings as he went. He educated me on my old/unique drain/sewer system design which was also much appreciated for future reference.Not only was he able to snake through all the breaks Roto Rooter found, but he also was able to clear the line through multiple blocks all the way to the street, and told me while its possible there are some separations at the joints of my old sewerpipes allowing for roots to get in, that he did not feel anything that he would consider are breaks.Cool dude and easygoing for this type of work as well, and I could tell he was honest. I have plumbing guys in one of the departments at the company I work for, but we dont do sewerlines, and John definitely impressed me today.The price quoted was also way (WAY) lower than what Roto Rooter quoted me, and includes a camera scoping visit in a few days now that the line is clear to figure out where any bellies in the line could be, buried vents, traps, etc. Even if we do end up finding breaks somewhere during that visit, I cant fault John for anything whatsoever. And if they quote me on any repair work during that visit, I consider that a good thing for preventative maintenance and so I know what I might be looking at down the road.Before he left, he also cleaned up and sanitized the mess Roto Rooter left in my basement yesterday (sewage splattered up the walls of my basement and all over the floor). I didnt ask him to do that... he just did it, and my basement now smells like lemon sanitizer instead of sewage.I cannot recommend AP Plumbing enough or speak highly enough of John Messick. And I will be recommending them to any of my own customers who have sewer drain problems that are beyond my own companys specializations.Ill be leaving this same review under a different email that I left my Roto Rooter review under so people can compare my experiences between the two more easily.Finally, I see people complaining on here about the $89 dispatch fee. Dispatch fees are common practices in contracting and trades for service work, and you are way more likely to get an honest answer and good service this way than going with a company that will push a free diagnostic upfront instead for work that definitely requires servicing. Companies with free diagnostic visits are usually for estimates, and theyre sending out a salesperson to give you an estimate on something (which could end up being a service visit if youre lucky enough to get an honest one who actually knows what theyre talking about), instead of a skilled tradesperson to get the job done with proper assessment.Thank you AP Plumbing, and dont ever let John go anywhere.

Had an emergency plumbing issue on a Sunday. Was very surprised when the gentleman showed up to fix my problem in about 20 minutes . He went right to work was very knowledgeable about my problem and had it fixed in just under an hour. Took the time to explain everything he had done and why. Would definately call this plumbing company anytime and the price was very reasonable for a plumber on a Sunday!!

AP Plumbing took care of a problem that required replacing much of the sewer drainpipe from the house to the main street sewer line. We were impressed with APs professionalism and communication. The initial problem was the sewer backing up in the basement. We had a different company come in to the clear the line but they were unsuccessful. This company did suggest the sewer pipe to the street looked like it needed replaced and quoted us the cost of doing the replacement (which involved digging down 10 feet to get to the pipe). We called AP to get a second estimate and they very quickly responded and had someone at the house within hours. They looked over the situation and the AP person who came said that while they were there they would try to clear the sewer line at no charge. They in fact succeeded, after much effort, to clear the clog. AP later sent an estimate for replacing the pipe to the street. Their estimate was half that of the other company, AND true to their word, they did not charge for clearing the initial clog. We waited about 3 weeks to accept the AP proposal for the new pipe to the street and not once did they pressure us to make a decision and accept their proposal. AP did then replace the pipe and they were very good about communicating when they would be there and what they were doing. Apparently the job turned out to be more difficult than anticipated but they finished the work and did not change the final cost from their proposal. AP Plumbing was one of the best experiences we have had with a home repair need.

We had an ongoing dripping faucet in our shower in our older home. I messaged AP Plumbing on Saturday evening and Monday morning I was called. Everyone on the phone were pleasant, professional and knowledgeable. The process was explained as well as some pricing. Another call was to schedule an appointment for the tech to come out. Adam and Brian came on the scheduled day and time, calling prior to arrival. They came in and I showed them the problem areas. After assessing the problem, I was given a couple of options. I chose a solution and they got to work. They did have to leave to get supplies that were not in their truck but returned quickly. They completed the job, cleaning up behind them and giving me time estimates along the way. After the job was done, they showed me the finished job. I was given the opportunity to ask questions, given the total as well as warranty information. While I hadn’t planned on having to call a plumber especially this time of year, it was a good experience from start to finish. I will definitely use this company again and recommend them to others!

Worked with Adam in the downtown Syracuse area today. I live in a condo complex and did not know where the main water shut off was for my individual unit, which left open the possibility that we were going to have to shut off everyones water. Adam showed up and said he was on a mission to not do that - and proceeded to help me find my shut off (behind the stove), hook up a new fridge, and fix a running toilet all within an hour. Super helpful, professional, and quick. Highly recommended.

Originally, I contacted AP Plumbing for a new valve shutoff. The representative went above and beyond by hooking up my washer and putting it on the pedestal I needed to place it on. I was so happy, I called them to install a utility tub. The rep explained the scope of the job, both for short-term repairs and if I wanted it done to eliminate later work, and let me decide what I wanted done without any pressure. I chose the more expensive route, but got a discount and quality work that I know will last. They came when they said they would come; no delays. I will be using them again!!

The AP Plumber assigned to my house was John and he arrived right on schedule.He was extremely professional and polite.I had a difficult plumbing issue that was very hard to find. He was focused and determined and found the problem. He then gave me an accurate appraisal of the situation and proceeded to do the work as stated. He is a master of his craft. He also looked at my outdoor faucets and quickly repaired them just by tightening them. He could have done anything and charged me anything and yet treated me fairly. He gave me an estimate on a new garbage disposal. He was sure to put on his floor protector “booties” even after I told him it wasn’t necessary. Over all he was a class act and I would recommend him and AP Plumbing completely. Top shelf !!

Over the weekend we had a backup that was causing standing wastewater in our shower. We called AP Plumbing and they sent Brian out Monday afternoon. We weren’t sure what to expect as we hadn’t worked with AP Plumbing before or needed a plumber at our previous home (we were able to DIY there). Brian was excellent – once we described the problem he was able to narrow it down to a couple possibilities, and after going over the pricing with us, got right to work (in the snow and wind). He described everything and answered our questions in detail so we knew what was going on, and was able to quickly resolve the problem and help us prevent it from happening again. We felt the pricing was very reasonable for the work that was done and wouldn’t hesitate to call AP Plumbing again.

The two employees they sent replaced the 20 year old hot water heater we had in the basement. They were very efficient and worked together on putting and taking out the old one. They made sure the new hot water heater was hooked up properly and no gas leaks. They instructed me on how it worked and what it should be set at to be the right temperature. It has worked perfectly since it was installed. We are very happy with the new hot water heater and we would definitely use AP plumbing if we have any plumbing issues in the future.

I needed a plumber to unclog the kitchen sink drain at my business. I didnt know of anyone so I Googled Syracuse Plumbers and AP Plumbing popped up. I normally do a lot of research, get a referral, etc. before hiring someone, but was in a hurry and said what the heck. So I called and got a live human being who was both courteous and professional and quickly got me scheduled within 24 hours. The technician showed up on time in a clean professional looking van, uniform and hit the ground running with diagnosing my problem. He was a friendly guy who was thorough and explained everything to me. His supervisor showed up who was very knowledgeable and helped diagnose the issue and gave me suggestions on how to prevent further clogs going forward. I never found clogs that interesting before! Who knew coffee contributed to gunked up drains! I was extremely pleased with this company. So much so, I plan to use them going forward and I plan to tell the building landlord to use them also. I would highly recommend this company to anyone needing a good plumber!

I could write a short story on my issue, but I wont :). So we noticed a leak in the ceiling below our upstairs bathroom late at night. We called AP Plumbing who initially could not get someone to us the next morning, I explained my concern of the constant leak even with turning off water and Mike (I believe) got us squeezed in and sends out Caelin to find our issue ( I knew we were going to be fine since my granddaughters name is Kaelyn as well). Upon Caelins arrival he was very thorough and explained step by step the process of what he would be doing to locate our leak along with the pricing before even beginning. I love that this was the process so we knew what to expect prior and after. Ultimately he found the issue (along with some reinforcement from Jeremy) and we could move forward with the appropriate steps to fix our issue. I would definitely use AP Plumbing again and would only be so lucky to get Caelin or Jeremy again. The both of them answered all of our questions, were patient and understanding. Very professional and friendly. AP you have two gems right there and I hope the rest of your employees are the same.

We just had a tricky portion of our sewer line under our house replaced that a portion of our drains tie into oddly and they did an incredible job. The price was fair, they explained the work they had done and how it should function, it looks great, and most importantly I feel confident that it was done correctly. I will for sure use them for our future plumbing projects and would recommend them to others as well.

We had a leak from our master bathroom shower into our kitchen ceiling. John came out with the assumption it was a common fix, but due to our home putting in an uncommon drain, it was not what we thought. John went above and beyond to try and find the piece, contacting the actual company that made it, getting involved with numerous departments at the company, sending numerous emails and just simply going above and beyond. I will not only use this company for any future plumbing needs, but I will specifically request John. He was so personable, kind, honest and fair. Truly a pleasure to have working in our home!

Our water main line from the water company box sprung a leak. Water company told us we were SOL and had to fix ourselves. Called AP Plumbing, they came out same day to provide an estimate for excavation and replacement of our water pipe. AP Plumbing explained not only what would need to be done, but also why. AP Plumbing did all the lwg work in terms of getting permits to dig, sourcing materials, and refilling the excavation. After the repair, our water pressure improved noticeably, even compare to before the leak. AP Plumbing was able to complete the repair in one day, allowing us to have our water offline only for 6-8 hours. Very happy with the quality of repair

The pricing seemed a bit high, but the transparency, communication, and excellent service was worth it.
