The heating and a/c expert arrived the following day, right on schedule. He was not only well-informed and polite but also sported adorable little booties each time he entered the house.     I met Roger when I was walking my dog, I was very impressed with the young man and asked for his card in case I needed a plumber. A few months later, I had to have a new toilet installed, so I called Roger’s cell phone. He was most polite and said he would have his dispatch call me to set up an appointment. An estimator, Efrain, came out to give me an estimate. I was shocked at the price. But Efrain was so nice, and said he could have it installed by Roger the next day if I wanted. So today, Roger came and installed two toilets for me. And he was truly amazing as I expected him to be. He was extremely polite, efficient, informative, competent, and completed the two installations quickly with no mess behind. And he also said I should consider putting a shut off water valve on my water softener. This young man, Roger, is quite an outstanding asset for Jon Wayne plumbing!

I had two damaged Romex wires that needed to be replaced/repaired immediately.     Called Jon Wayne took look at an electrical issue weve recently had pop up on our fairly new house (5 yrs). The electrician arrived on time, set down a Jon Wayne door mat to wipe his feet over our door mat, then proceeded to introduce himself, provided a business card and then put shoe covers on over his boots. He asked me to summarize the issues to confirm the notes given to him and then proceeded to walk me through his action plan to diagnose any problem and invited me to watch him. That was an unexpected surprise as I am very curious by nature and also dont want to watch over an experts shoulder. At any rate, he was very thorough, provided detailed explanation of the recommended solutions at the various levels. Scheduled service for tomorrow and happy to have had an educational experience with this company.Update: the repair crew came today out after dispatch gave us a heads up call and arrived right around the estimated time indicated. The lead electrician and apprentice set up their mat, put on shoe covers, gave me a rundown of the repairs to confirm their notes and said it would be about an hour. They were spot on, almost an hour exactly and they cleaned up any mess, walked me through the repair and indulged my questions. Only thing I would have liked to see was the work before the covers went back on. Thats just me though, as I am an inquisitive one by nature. The electricians were courteous and friendly. Havent tested the fix yet but service so far has been great.

    Noe was on time, efficient, went right to work, found and corrected the problem in record time, he was kind and understanding, professional! We were offered a plan to join a preferred customer list at a reasonable rate that most anybody can afford so we don’t have to worry about who to call the next time our a/c needs maintenance.     Five Stars – Exceptional Service from John Wayne AC ServicesWe initially had another company inspect our AC because the fan kept running even when the unit was off. Their technician said it was a problem with both the module and the capacitor and quoted us over $1,500 for repairs. Wanting a second opinion, we called John Wayne for a free assessment.John Wayne quickly identified the actual issue: the fan motor was out, but the capacitor was perfectly fine.     Our service window was scheduled for noon - 4:00 pm. Received a call and text morning of to confirm. After sitting around all afternoon waiting, finally received a call at 3:47 that the technician is running behind and would be there in about a hour. Was told once they arrived service would take about 90 minutes. We had dinner plans so had to reschedule at this point for the next day. So, rearranged the next days schedule to be home and available. Service technician arrived the next day, was very professional, informative, communicating every step he was performing. We were very pleased with the service received, just frustrated that we gave up a full afternoon for an appointment that was made weeks in advance as well as the next morning. A discount on the service charge would have been a nice gesture for them not meeting their service window and us having to adjust our schedules for another day, but none was offered.

And this year they installed a new water heater, new toilets and repaired some pipe damage from trees! Chris came out and diagnosed the problem right away. He was great at explaining everything. Then, they sent out Roger, Zack, Jesus and Derrick to get the job done. They were all fantastic. All were very hard working, polite and professional.     Absolutely enjoyed my interactions with this company! We just bought a house here in San Antonio and wanted our air checked out and some other minor upgrades. I spoke with Jackie to set up my appointment and she was a joy to talk to. Then Ray called to tell me that Joseph was coming to see what was going on. Joseph came in and was VERY respectful and informative. He showed me things that needed to be done, things that could be done to make things better and what would be the lottery winning overhaul. Very nice to see what all of the options were. No pressure tactics. No feeling pushed to do anything... very refreshing in this day and age. If you are looking at getting work done please remember this company!

After assessing the condition of the entire system and finding a refrigerant leak at the indoor coil, he presented a list of options for repair vs. replace. He was also very professional, very knowledgeable, very thorough, and very honest. He checked the inside unit, the outside unit, the electrical panels, the air supplies and the return air vents. The other company wanted to charge the same amount of money for a lot less work and coverage, and weren’t forthcoming about their agreement, speeding me through the signing.John Wayne sent people out to give us thorough explanations and helped with financing options, allowing time for all the small print to be read.We are getting so much more work done for the same amount of money as the first opinion, without a reduction in quality.I would definitely use them again. Not because they were cheaper, but because they seemed to actually care about the client.

    Actually, the homestead work was done on my brothers San Antonio property. He is very complimentary regarding the professionalism of your staff. From what he told me, you did an overhaul of his air ducts. This was a difficult and time consuming air duct repair that could only be done by experienced professionals.     I find that Jon Wayne does a very good job in their AC Repair and Service. However, I do have a concern:They replaced a part that was under warranty, so no charge for the part.But, since the part was defective, it leaked out all of the Freon.I was charged for 15 pounds of Freon.I was also charged for the labor to remove and replace the defective part that was under warranty.If the part is under warranty, then I would assume that repairing the damage and Freon cost this part caused should be covered under the warranty.Also the replacement labor should be covered by the warranty, otherwise you could just drop the part on my front porch and say the warranty has been covered.Almost $2,700.- to replace a defective part that was under warranty, seems a bit much.

From the get-go, Rudy, the estimator and frontline person representing the company, was exceptional to work with.     Very professional and patient with me. Ive been having a hard time and my lack of patience showed through though I really didnt mean to be so frustrated I just had no more and they didnt match my energy they stayed calm and helped me work through it and get the situation resolved.     Efrain was excellent in taking care of us. He was personable, friendly, respectful, and professional. It was obvious how passionate he was about his field and enthusiastic about inspecting all our plumbing including our water softening system, toilets, and water heater, when we had originally just called for work on our garbage disposal. I never felt as though he was pushy or selling his services but that he was genuinely concerned about our home and its maintenance. He gave us pricing and options for each thing and was honest and upfront about member club fees, warranties, and possible up-charges on toilet flanges should they be damaged and needing replacement.     I am so glad to know that there is a hometown company that is true to their word and do not go out of their way to screw you. Zacarias was our tech who did the cleaning of our main system under the rescue plan that I had forgotten about. He reviewed the account history and found that we had the rescue plan which cleaning was no charge! We even had our mini split cleaned for a sixteenth of what 2 of the other companies quoted.     Working with Jon Wayne is like having the professionalism & reliability of a huge corporate company, but with a level of service that is so personalized & human, that it feels like you are dealing with a family-run mom & pop shop. Out of the 8 guys from various companies that came out to give me bids for a new AC / H-Vac system, Rudy was the one I felt I could trust. He gave me the best deal & he was super nice & knowlegeable! He told me I could call him anytime, night or day, with any issues or questions! He arranged for me to be brought 3 window units to keep my home cool until the install day, just a couple days later. Robert & his entire installation team went way above & beyond for me! They threw in several customizations to make sure the installation was perfect & I was satisfied! They worked really late into the evening because they understood how badly I needed the new system to be up & working as soon as possible. I also appreciate Shannon, who was helping me from home, over the phone at 9:30 at night, walking me through the financing documents, so I could finalize the loan and get scheduled as quickly as possible. And although I never spoke with him, I must give a shout out to manager Chris, because I know he was working hard with Rudy to get my total price down, while still keeping all the extra add-ons & services I wanted.     I called Jon Wayne Monday 7/31/2023. Christian Moore the consultant came out within the hour. We had had another quote for a replacement so knew that thats what we was going to do. Christian spent at least 2 hours going over different systems/ options ect and we settled on the right one for us. There was absolutely no pressure. We decided to finance. That went extremely smoothly. We had an appointment the very next day for installation 8/1/2023. The guys arrived at 8.30. The time we was told. Very respectful, got it installed in good time. Cleaned up after themselves and Ryan went over the system, thermostat and app with me. This was A great experience and I feel very confident that we made the right choice with a company that will be there when needed.After being without AC for 2.5 days in the S. Texas heat it was great to feel that AC kick in. Its much quieter than my old AC unit and Im sure very much more efficient.     In the past I haven’t had a great experience with the service with Jon Wayne so eventually I let everything go with maintenance… when they sent out their workers in the past.. they were either late or were here for hours without explaining what they were there for and such. So when my AC went out I was very hesitant to call so I called others for help first and they weren’t able to help me. So I called Jon Wayne to make an appointment. Ben is such a blessing! He was able to identify the problem and explain EVERYTHING to me and how important it is to keep up with maintenance to avoid problems like this. After returning from dropping off my son to school I was outside staring at an object in my tire. Ben came outside to grab something from the truck and saw the tire and offered to change my tire! I wasn’t having the best of luck with the AC or tire but Ben literally went above and beyond for me and I’m sooo thankful! I have gotten back on the maintenance plan but you really need more people like BEN!

    I called Jon Wayne to come out to my home due to my AC going out about 2.5 weeks ago. The salesman, Lucas came over he inspected the 19 yr old Carrier Infinity unit. The part that was broken would not be here in time for my liking. So I decided to get a new Jon Wayne Duke HVAC system.The install was good, Lucas was there to answer all of my questions, and the technician Hector and his crew was Awesome! Hector worked well into the night, until the next morning installing the unit due to the troubleshooting as to why the thermostat was not communicating with the unit. So he came back the next morning with a new thermostat. He got the correct thermostat install in less than 1hr.So it has been about 2 weeks now and I am loving my new system! I am loving the new features that my old 19 yr old unit didnt have. I also am loving the 12 yr warranty on my new unit. I also am very please with the people that Jon Wayne has working them. They are very professional along with very knowledgeable about the HVAC industry.     John Waynes Comfort Advisor - Christian Moore invested a lot of time and did a superb job laying out all the details with many different options in regards to fixing our Air Duct issue that I originally called about, in addition to replacing our A/C system. There will always be a cost involved having any type of work done. But consider the equipment durability and trust using a reliable company is more leverage to investing in a home. My husband and I feel confident due to our experience. We decided its best to purchase a new A/C system from John Wayne Service Co.

    I recently got a new system installed. Art was very helpful, walked us through various options and gave us a really good quote. Three gentlemen took care on installed next day, on schedule. There was a complication due to removing zones, but they were able take care of that next day. Overall, very satisfied with the service and the new system so far.

    We were in need of electrical work. The driver on a recessed LED light in the master bath had gone bad. JD Ortiz of Jon Wayne Service Co. replaced the fixture, which we provided. JD then told us about newer styles of fixtures that are easier to replace when either the LED or the driver goes bad. JD also reinstalled a light kit on a ceiling fan in the master bedroom. We appreciated the knowledge he shared with us plus all the plans Jon Wayne Service has to offer. We are very pleased with JDs work.

    The young lady who set up my appointment was wonderful and very helpful. The technician arrived early the next morning and i was very happy. My AC was out and we had a rough night. However he was unable to fix the problem and it wont be done until tomorrow. Another day without AC is brutal as both my wife and i have asthma. The technician was very professional and did all he could no complaints. They have set up an appointment for tomorrow i pray they can fix the problem.

    Update Aug 2024:At first Lindsay reached out to try and help figure out a solution. Eventually the owner also called and they had a new technician, Brian, come out to do actual assessments and consult the engineers. They came out as soon as everything was agreed upon and made the adjustments with duct installation and a few other things to get the system where it was supposed to be to be comfortable. Christopher and the other installer were great and professional the whole time they were here working in the attic in the middle of the summer. I have noticed a huge difference already in the back of the house where the sun hits in the afternoons and they plan to send Brian back out to test the airflow again and make any adjustments where needed. I knew Jon Wayne was pricier than other companies but I based my decision to have them install the new system because of their reviews and because I try to buy American when I can and the system I bought was made here in Texas. Im glad they made everything right because I planned on keeping them as my home service company for awhile.Original post in July 2024:I had a brand new hvac installed roughly 2 months ago. My TOP concern when talking to the sales guy was the back of my house being so hot in the evenings and at night. My bedroom and living room are in the back so its difficult to keep the area cool when sleeping and relaxing. I bought one of the most expensive units and I was told that it should see the problem because the variable stage unit constantly runs so it never allows the temps to go to high. He told me it would make the back room temps more comfortable. I noticed when taking out the trash that the unit DOES NOT run at the low temps CONSTANTLY but instead runs low for a long period of time to avoid the larger surges in power when it kicks on. James explained this to me afterwards when I called to complain and said he accidentally told me that and apologized for not explaining it properly. So the company decided to not fully listen to my complaint and sent someone out to check the unit to make sure its functioning. I never said it wasnt functioning but that it wasnt performing in the way that James explained. Nobody offered to fix the problem that the sales guy lied about so now Im stuck with a $30k unit and the back of the house still gets hot. I asked the guy that came out for the unnecessary check up what wouldve been a better solution and he mentioned a split unit that specifically sits in the bedroom or living room. Clearly those werent expensive enough to the sales guy and Im sure he needed the commission from the unit he sold more than actually providing me the proper solution to my problem. Even after the service guy mentioned in his report the disappointment and dissatisfaction Im still having absolutely no one called to try and resolve the problem. So here I am having to use Google to make it public and more obvious that I want a solution immediately. If you sort the reviews by the lowest youll see in the last 6 months is when everything seems to have gone downhill. Im not sure whats happening over there but I am sick to my stomach thinking about how angry I am and the company doesnt give a crap.

    This review is for Adam our service manager! I am not happy with the fact the year old unit we got installed last year has had the outdoor compressor and coil valve go bad. For us we have had JW out about every other month. The other unit we have has worked fine. The difference is the attitude and honesty from Adam to keep us customers. Otherwise…we may have just had them come collect the unit and gone with someone else. The five stars goes to Adam. 3 Stars to the equipment manufacturer.
