We had a great experience working with Metro Plumbing. We had multiple other companies give us really expensive quotes and felt we were being taken advantage of. Metro was far more reasonable, and most importantly they were honest and upfront from the beginning! Matt was really great at answering all our questions and explaining costs. He helped get our service scheduled quickly and seamlessly. The technician Joel did a really great job. He was timely, knowledgeable, resourceful, honest, and upfront. We would definitely use them again!

While my plumbing issues are not able to be resolved, Shane and Tyler were super helpful and professional in diagnosing the issue and communicating my options. They patiently answered all of my questions and addressed my concerns, used all the tools at their disposal, and solved our garage drain plumbing mystery. Also loved the easy online appointment request, text communication, and ability to send photos beforehand. All around a great experience, will definitely call again for future issues.

I received excellent service today by Fred from Metro Plumbing. My partner and I bought a house recently and it was not disclosed to us how old the sump pump was. Fred was very helpful in coming out, evaluating the current pump and making some recommendations for what to do next. The pricing was upfront and honest and Fred was able to install a new sump pump the same day. Overall I am very happy with my service—he was here within the time window that we were given and worked efficiently, answered all of my questions, and didn’t pressure me into buying the most expensive system or any other add ons (which I appreciate as someone who has very little knowledge of how it all works). Thanks Fred—we will continue to use Metro for any future plumbing needs.

Chad and Richard did an awesome job installing my new water heater. The installation was a bit tricky because I live in a one level home on slab, so the mechanical room is small ( 5’ x 7’), and houses the furnace and water softener in addition to the water heater—it’s crowded. Yet Chad and Richard were able to get the installation done in that tight space, and, having re-plumbed a couple of lines, they left it better than they found it—and I really appreciate that!

This review is for work done last winter when my boiler failed in the middle of the winter. Metro Plumbing came to install the new equipment. I missed writing a review at the time but did not want to miss the opportunity because Andrew S. who worked on the installation all day did a phenomenal job. The basement of this 1917 farm house is unfinished with a dirt floor, no windows, but plenty of spiderwebs. It is accessed through a heavy door in floor of the hallway and getting a new boiler up and down the stairs alone was an achievement. What impressed me about Andrew S. was how professional and positive he was throughout the day working in the dark basement by himself. Not only did he complete the installation professionally but he was a joy to have around. If there were more than five stars to give I would give Andrew S. a sixth star for his friendly disposition. I highly recommend their services.

My sister used Metro, so they came highly recommended. This job was actually our second project completed by Jesse and we couldnt be more satisfied! Previously, he had switched out the 80yr old toilet while leaving the original tile work unscathed. This time he had to retrofit handles, faucet and drain into our classic Kohler lav sink and dont think it was simple! As usual he went above and beyond to deliver exactly what we had hoped for! This is my ONLY number for plumbing.

Great experience, will use them again.

I recently submitted an online estimate request and received a call from Metro the following day. They explained what they thought the issue might be and provided an estimated cost but mentioned that they would need to send someone out to confirm. The next day, Fred from Metro arrived and called ahead to let me know he was on his way.Fred was punctual, professional, and friendly. He explained his plan of action and consulted with me before proceeding whenever he encountered a challenge in my old home.Despite facing continued difficulties, Fred resolved my issue in just 3 hours. He assured me that he tested it without seeing any water leaks. I will watch it and reach out if that isnt the case.Based on my experience, and if they have more people like Fred, I would highly recommend Metro. I have previously used another major company specializing in HVAC and Plumbing but was not satisfied with the service and pricing.

The entire experience was great. At first I just needed a pipe looked at and diagnosed by a plumber for the insurance Co. I originally called Metro but had to cancel due to possibly needing someone here at the same time as a fireplace tech that was going to look at the affected fireplace. I wont name names but the only company I could find with the matching time started with RR. Next morning 2 hours before the plumber shows up, his boss shows up with a ton of equipment ready to do a bunch of cleanup work which was never requested nor needed as we were already well underway with someone else. After the supervisor left about an hour later the plumber calls. He tells me without even knowing what was going on yet that it would cost $500 for him to diagnose the problem and $1400 to replace the pipe. So $1900 total. I told them I would call them back as we were learning the fireplace didnt need to be removed anyhow. I called Metro back and glad I did. One tech (I cant remember the name sorry) showed up on Friday and quickly diagnosed what I already knew but needed it official. The inspection fee was $99 but that fee would be forgiven if they did the repair. Another plumber Fred came over the following week to complete the job in under 30 minutes. From start to finish the entire bill was $385. More than a $1500 savings that RR was going to charge without even knowing the issue. I will never doubt my referral again!

We had new drain pipes along with new drain baskets placed in our kitchen sink back in August by Metro which went well. Unfortunately after 2 months one of our drain baskets started to peel paint(poor manufacturing of part). Richard came out to replace the baskets with new stainless steel ones. He was very pleasant, knowledgeable and took the time to show me what issue could have contributed to problem. He then proceeded to rectify the issue and recommend future solution. Richard and Chad completed several plumbing tasks at my house and they were prompt and professional. They installed a new bath tub faucet and fixed the high loop to prevent water from flowing from the kitchen sink into the dishwasher. They also noticed the shutoff valves to the outside faucets were old and corroded, so they replaced them with new valves and pipe, including moving the location of one valve to make it much easier to access. Both Richard and Chad were very knowledgeable and careful in their work. They clearly explained what they would be doing, and carefully cleaned everything up when they were finished. The price was reasonable and their work was excellent. I highly recommend Metro plumbing!

My furnace broke down on one of the coldest days and their response time was impressive. During July 2022, Metro Plumbing did projects at my home. The first project was replacing 3 toilets with Gerber toilets and replacing all the plumbing in my tub/shower (new faucet, drain, and all the plumbing pipes in the wall). Charlie and Cameron did an excellent job. They were efficient, experienced, personable, professional, on time. I am very pleased with their work and the results. The second project was to replace an anti siphon spigot and replace the 2 shutoffs in my basement with the ball (lever) type. Our water heater was 10 years old and had a slow leak. I knew I better get it fixed soon before it flooded the area. I went online that night and was able to get an appointment with Metro Plumbing the next day. We had used Metro HVAC for a furnace check 3 months ago, and I was very impressed with Kyle, who was able to figure out some longstanding issues we had with the furnace, due to an improper install back in 05. That is why I wanted to use them again. I sent photos to them, and we both knew that a new water heater would be needed. They sent me quotes with 3 options. I picked one and they assured me that they would deliver a new water heater tomorrow. Price was $1700 all in, including haul away of the old unit. The price has gone up considerably since our last install in 2011, but that is how it is in our current economic climate. The price was in line with what other plumbers were charging.They gave me a 11:00-2:00 window. Richard called at 10:30, and was there at 11:00 on the dot. I was very impressed with Richard. He was very nice and personable and professional and knew exactly what to do. He took off his shoes without being asked and was very courteous in general. He has done hundreds of these installs. He had to make some changes with some of the existing copper fittings, using pro press and soldering, because the unit was slightly taller than the previous one. Everything was done by 2:00 and we have hot water again. One cold shower was enough!Richard also took a look at one of our toilets that was leaking from the base. He said it needed a new wax seal, which is kinda what I figured. He came back the next day and did the reseal on the toilet. Price was $315.00, and there was a 10% off coupon for repairs over $300, so it ended up being $283.50.I probably couldve found someone on Craiglist to do this cheaper, butI wouldnt have felt as comfortable with the installs. Metro is a longstanding good-sized company that I feel will stand behind their work. And both Richard, for plumbing, and Kyle, for HVAC, were top-notch. Highly recommended!

Metro Plumbing recently installed a water softener for us. Our house had not been plumbed for a softener and it required a fair amount of additional preparation work. Charles (installer) came a day early to estimate the added plumbing, enabling his office to email a revised quote; after calling ahead, he arrived promptly on the install date and spent the afternoon on the job. Charles worked as quickly as possible; cleaned up the work area carefully; charged and started the softener; and, provided operating instructions and documentation. We had a water heater and softener replacement done on the 2nd floor in a small townhome. The existing conditions were nasty and plumbed like an interlocking spiderweb. Charles made short work of the chaos and cleaned all the plumbing to the highest standards. We really appreciate that he listened to us and helped make some minor adjustments to reclaim a lot of lost space in our tiny mechanical/laundry room. His demeanor was pleasant/inviting and he most clearly cared about maintaining cleanliness of our home. It was an absolute pleasure working with Metro plumbing from initial email through completed job. Thanks again, we couldnt be happier!

A water heater replacement installation in less than three hours by Mr. Charles Doody who turned out to be the nicest repairmen we ever had.He was very carful covering our carpets, cleaning the work area and certainly knows his business.We are completely happy homeowners using Metro Plumbing, in Maplewood, and would certainly recommend them.Avis & Remy Bourne
