Excellent service! They keep you updated with texts and phone calls when a technician will arrive complete with a picture and bio. Our tech Austin quickly diagnosed the issue with our shower and had it fixed in less an 30 minutes. No mess, no fuss, and reasonably priced! Will definitely use again!

We called Cardinal Heating about a possible gas leak that we were smelling outside at the vent exhaust pipe. A service tech showed up at our house at 7:00am the next morning to check it out. He was very professional, courteous & very knowledgeable about furnaces. After a thorough & lengthy inspection it was determined that there were no gas leaks and the furnace was operating correctly with no issues. We were very satisfied with the diagnosis and are thankful for there quick response.

Brandon and his work partner came out today to replace two valves that turn off the water to outside spigots, that had been leaking through after shut-off. They arrived in a timely manner, and were friendly and helpful in explaining exactly in advance how they would do the job. They were careful to not track in, and cleaned up after their work. They installed better quality valves on the inside. I was very pleased with their work.

Cardinal is a great business. They are on the higher end of the price spectrum, but their service and support is worth it. I have had them do heating, cooling, electrical and plumbing. Both the technicians and managers are friendly, informative and helpful. They are very thorough in their work and spend all the time necessary to both analyze the problem and explain the services they recommend. They dont pressure you and dont do anything without consulting you first. I am very pleased with their service.

Our furnace went out and Cardinal guaranteed we’d have a technician out to our house that same day. The technician, Andy S, went above and beyond to make sure we understood everything he was going to do, the outcome and next steps. As new homeowners, we decided to join the Cardinal Club before Andy even told us his findings. The outcome was that our 37 year old furnace was no longer operational and our next step was to meet with a Comfort Advisor. Rick J was patient and kind as he educated us on all things furnace and A/C and helped us arrive at a decision that was best for us. We are so happy we found Cardinal! We feel fortunate to know we will be taken care of and have support with all of our heating cooling plumbing and electrical needs for our 120 year old house!

My 14 year old furnace needs some part replacements and Trey helped me decide what was essential and what could wait a bit, which I really appreciate. I am a Care Club member. I set up my annual air conditioner check and the staff was very flexible accommodating my schedule. Today, my technician, Nicolas arrived to do my service check. I first received a courtesy call to let me know he was coming. When he arrived, he introduced himself and he described the work he would be doing. He was friendly and professional. I asked him several questions during his visit and he patiently answered all my concerns. He offered recommendations at the end of his visit. The timeliness and professional service stood out the most from this visit.

I’ve been using Cardinal for all of my HVAC needs, and they have NEVER disappointed. Today Carl came to repair a faulty faucet that I recently installed. I was unable to determine what was wrong with the hot water flow, but Carl ultimately pulled the the hot water side to find a piece of rubber washer from the shutoff valve wedged in the bottom. I never would have figured that out. Cardinal’s team are talented professionals and I highly recommend them!

The exhaust from our dryer was plugged with lint, triggering the safety shutoff and making our dryer unusable. I called Cardinal and they sent a technician out the next day. Steve, the technician, was prompt, extremely courteous, and very helpful. He moved the dryer out from the wall (under tight conditions), examined the problem, cleared the exhaust conduit, and checked the system - still no exhaust from the outlet. He determined that the problem was at the exhaust cap, on our roof. On a cold winter day, Steve climbed up on our roof and discovered that there was a screen on our exhaust cap that was solidly plugged with lint. After removing the screen and retesting the system, all was corrected. Our problem was solved. Not only are we pleased with the result, but very impressed by the diligence and quality of the work done by Steve.

I had a main shutoff valve for the house start leaking really bad. I called them the night before and they were able to fit me in the next morning. They were able to replace the old valve and replaced some of the pipe going up to my water softener. All done in a few hours. They were polite and curious. Nicolas W. performed the annual servicing of my air conditioning unit. Upon arrival he explained what he would be doing, and answered several questions that I had. He gave me an overview of how the cooling/heating system works, and also told me what needed to be done to clean the outdoor unit. He was very knowledgeable, thorough and conscientious. He found a potential issue and walked me through all the possible solutions and costs. I really appreciate the time he took to explain, in layman’s terms, what was going on. He resolved the problem and made sure everything was in perfect working order before he left. He also emailed me photos of what he’d done as well as the readings he’d taken. Nicolas gets my highest recommendation. This is the third preventative maintenance visit from the Cardinal team; I am very impressed with their work ethic and transparency.

I had gotten an estimate from Brandon to replace my ancient AC unit and 15 year old furnace back in October. Didnt pull the trigger right away until one Sunday morning woke up and the furnace was not working. Called Brandon on a Sunday afternoon and not only did he honor the original quote but he was able to get his team scheduled to install the new units quickly; what had been a nice to do home maintenance project became a must do project.The team from American Heating & AC did a great job on removing the old system and installing the new system. Polite and professional, the team also goes the extra mile to protect flooring and walls as they remove the old system and bring in the new one. They provided a great tutorial on the new system and the overall installation, pic attached, is clean meaning pipes were smartly routed and the unit was seamlessly integrated into the existing duct work. Extremely satisfied both the scheduling and workmanship.Most of the furnaces and AC units are manufactured in a handful of factories so at certain price points most units are pretty similar meaning the big difference often is the installation and support from the contractor. American Heating & AC is top notch.

I was looking to get an air-to-air exchanger installed in my home and reached out to get multiple companies based off recommendations, online reviews, and proximity to my house. Honestly there are so many companies out there that its hard to sift through them all. American stood out in the quoting process because of Brandons mix of chill vibe and nerdy building science info. Its what I was looking for, especially since he showed himself to be really honest, even if the answers I was looking for werent what I wanted to hear. I remember as he was answering my question with a long, detailed explanation he stopped and asked wait, are you interested in all this detail? It was a nice out for me if I did, but I wanted to hear all the nerdy details!Brandon came back with a quote for the exchanger, along with a furnace and A/C as we were looking to get those replaced at some point too. The quote was inline with other companies in spots and better in others, which made the decision easy.The exchanger install was super smooth--Dave was on-time, professional, and did ultra-clean work. Sometimes companies sound great in the quoting process and dont follow through with the actual work. That was not the case with American.The best (worst?) part is while we didnt replace the furnace and A/C, my furnace happened to go out shortly after telling Brandon wed wait on that. It was awesome to have a quote in hand with a company I knew would take care of me and start the work as fast as possible. It felt good to know I was getting the hardware I wanted as a price that worked with a company I knew would do a good job. It was a lot of money to pay for these three things, but I felt good giving that money to American. They earned it!

Waking up on a cold, fall, Friday morning, I realized that my furnace wasnt working. I left a message with the after-hours answering service before going to work. Following up a few hours later, we realized that the answering service didnt deliver the message! The Cardinal Heating dispatch promised they would send the next available service technician. Within a couple more hours, I received a call from the tech saying they were on their way. They diagnosed the issue quickly and sent a request for the parts van to deliver, awaiting only my authorization. Their quick response and service saved me from weekend or emergency call rates. Afterwards, their follow up services show the level of care that illustrates that they want you as a repeat customer.

I worked with two techs on a furnace issue, on two different days, who very patiently explained what was happening and answered my questions as they found and fixed the issue. We contracted American Heating and A/C recently to replace our furnace. We did a lot of research on local HVAC companies (we had more than 10 come out to quote the project). American was very competitively prices. The price combined with their demonstrated HVAC knowledge are the main reasons we went with them, and were happy we did. Brandon was great to work with, quick to provide a quote, and very knowleable (see below). I highly recommend them.During the inspection/quote, Brandon notified us that our current furnace exhaust was not up to code. We got mixed responses from other HVAC reps (some said it was fine, some agreed it was out of compliance, others said nothing). American was the only company that included fixing our code violation in the quote, and they were still less expensive than most. We confirmed with a city inspector after the installation that the code violation pointed out was in fact a violation and that the work done by American brought us into compliance.There were at least 2 or 3 other more minor problems we had related to our furnace/thermastat that American identified during the quote and fixed during installation that were not mentioned by other companies. From our experience, Brandon takes the time to be thorough inspecting a job, quotes the right solution to serve the customer, and somehow does it at very competitive prices.

A few days ago the temperatures here in Madison started hitting the upper 80s and to my dismay, when I started my air conditioner, I found out it wasnt working...It was Saturday so I called around to a few places and when I called Action, I actually got an on-call employee on the other end (not an answering service or machine). I spoke with the person to get pricing info, etc. and ended up calling back on Monday to schedule an appointment (they were cheaper than everyone else I called in the area [no trip fee!] and seemed nice).Even though they were being inundated with calls from the hot weather spike, they guaranteed that someone would be at my house on Tuesday afternoon so at 12:45pm on Tuesday, their technician (Dave) showed up and proceeded to diagnose and fix my issue within 1 hour.Im very satisfied with their service as their technician was knowledgeable, friendly, and fast.
