It was such a delightful surprise to learn that May, an incredible and knowledgeable female plumber, would handle the estimate for our new water heater. Buckner’s even sent a text beforehand with Mays photo and some personal details, which I found very reassuring.May was not only extremely friendly but also demonstrated profound expertise in her field. It’s inspiring to see a woman excel in what has traditionally been a male-dominated profession, and I wholeheartedly support her hard work. As a woman home alone during the service, having May as my technician made me feel incredibly safe and at ease.I also want to commend the communication team at Buckners. They were always quick to respond to my inquiries and very precise in their communication. They resolved an error in my estimate swiftly and noted my request to always have May as my technician for any future repairs.Buckner’s has truly won us over with their exceptional service, and the cherry on top is that they are located less than a mile from our home. From the moment the technician arrived to diagnose the problem with my old furnace, to the excellent sales person and then the new installation of furnace and air conditioner I was very pleased with each person I worked with at Buckners. They are all very professional and pleasant to work with. Mitzi Smith was instrumental in helping me with the best application for my home and the installers, Tony and Aiden, did a great job. I am very pleased with all and would recommend Buckners as an excellent company that cares about the customer and doing a good job.

Buckners installed the HVAC system in our home when it was new and we have used them over the last 19 years for needed service. They have always been there when needed. When we contacted them about replacing/upgrading our system, Steve evaluated our system and provided us with several options and taking the time to answer all our questions. There was no hard sell... just good information that helped us consider the options and make a decision we were comfortable with. The work was scheduled when we wanted it, and Daniel and Alx were prompt, polite and professional in completing the installations. No one really enjoys spending money on needed maintenance or replacement of HVAC systems, but everyone appreciated prompt, professional, quality service and installation. Thats our experience with Buckners!

From start to finish, the crew at Buckner’s was very responsive, respectful, and professional. Scheduling an appointment was easy and prompt, and the inspection of my issue was handled very quickly and informative. Mitzi came right out to complete the estimate after determining that my AC system needed to be replaced, and was able to discuss all available options with no pressure. The team was out the next morning to install a new ac and heating system. They we very polite, clean, and did a fantastic job installing the systems in 1 day! The systems are working great, and they left the work area cleaner than what they found it. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM!

We had a new furnace and A/C unit installed by Buckners recently. The furnace works fine and I anticipate the A/C unit will when needed. Buckners is top notch. The initial serviceman, Jacob, came quickly, checked out the old furnace and did a great job of explaining our opions relative to repair versus new. He was knowlegeable, patient, and personable. The two men, Alx and Daniel, who installed our units were also knowledgeable and very pleasant answering questions and explaining what we needed to know. We also interacted with Mitzy as the sales person who, again, represented Buckners very well exlaining our needs and options regarding A/C and heating units. I have no doubts that if needing service we will call on Buckners. They are , as I said, top notch.

Buckners Heating was great at giving me a fare quote and Malcom was awsome, he came and installed a whole home water softener system that I had purchased at Home Depot. He set it up for me and everything and it’s been working great in my small 2bwdroom home. Was tired of having water spots all over everything and forget about washing a car before. Now it’s like I’m at a nice luxury hotel.

I looked at google, for installer of a blower on gas a fireplace place. There are things, I feel, are best left to professionals. Joe Randall text me after inquiry, and in my opinion went above and beyond to answer questions for me. Sent me a pic of his personal fire place for reference. Common customer service, isn’t “normal” these days, but Joe, is grade A! He could have very well said no, and moved on like another place I reached out to for service this evening, but he actually took time to help!!!!!!!! That is a great example of a great technician!!!!! Every business would be lucky to have, 20 Joes!!!

My wife and I spend 6 months out of the year in our RV, so returning home to discover our HVAC unit was dead was not great. We had some mild weather days and decided it was a good time to replace our unit. We received bids from 4 companies in Kansas City, MO and decided on Buckners because we were bid the same unit as several other companies, the prices were more reasonable, the warranty was better, and our sales person, MItzi was super easy to work with. She was responsive to our concerns and she did NOT do the hard-sell just let us make our choice and gave us her best price. It was such an easy decision. We purchased a fairly high-end 5 ton Lennox unit, so it was not inexpensive, but overall it wasnt the highest price in KC either. My wife and I appreciate the straight talk, no BS, easy going manner of Buckners. Our 3 installers were super nice - actually a very reliable and informed group of men who made us feel very comfortable with their work.Our system works great now, weve had it for a few weeks and we love it. What I like most is we have a schedule for temperatures and time-of-day, I can alter and control those on my iphone and because of our automatic dampers, our two-story home stays the perfect temperature all the time.Thank you Buckner for making the experience as painless as possible and honestly, we cannot recommend this company enough!

My wife and I are not from this area and we are pretty new to this part of the Midwest. We had no clue on which HVAC companies were great and which ones to stay away from. Our realtor recommended Buckners from his previous experiences with them and I am glad I chose to go with them as well. We had Buckners come out and give us an estimate for a mini split in our garage and a new furnace/air conditioner with an air scrubber and humidifier. Within 3 working days we had the equipment installed. The staff, Mitzi, Daniel, Jacob and Caleb were all very pleasant and professional to work with. Scheduling and install was super fast and the work was definitely worth it. I will definitely use them again in the future for the whole house water filter.

We just had a new HVAC system put in this week by Buckner’s. The project manager Mitzi came out next day to review our current system and give us quotes for a new one. She was so helpful, trustworthy and friendly. She demonstrated that she knew a lot about HVAC and she helped us make the best decision for our house and our family. We got multiple quotes and they were not only a good choice financially, but overall a wonderful install. Next: Daniel, Alex and Charlie came out to do the install. They were all very professional and friendly. They did their work quickly and efficiently. They also took great care of our house by putting tarps down and wearing booties over shoes when going where there wasn’t a tarp. Daniel took the time walk through the thermostat with me, but then also showed me important features about the new system. He walked me through where the shut off valves were and how (and when) to replace filters. He took the time to answer any questions. Overall, this was a wonderful experience. From start to finish, everyone was professional and knowledgeable. All the work the guys did looks very well done and we couldn’t be happier!

Mike K and Jacob K from Buckner’s came to my house the next day after I called requesting a service call for my Trane 90 communication error. My unit is 15 years old and I was expecting the worst “fix” recommendation (I.e. buy a new heat pump). Rather they spent 2 hours troubleshooting then figured out and fixed the problem!!! I have heat and couldn’t be happier with the service I received. They will be my 1st choice from here on out - I was not as fortunate with other local competitors this past summer when my other identical unit had the same problem :(

I would first like to state that this review is not only for Buckners heating and cooling but for our Rmech the original installers of my system.Both teams are really prompt and professional.I got my new system installed with a brand new air conditioner and furnace for a deal you cant find anymore lets just say that.Then Buckners heating and cooling came in my home one time to help me figure out why I had a problem and there was no problem they called that operator error. Thank you guys for not laughing at me.They just came through and did an inspection of my system earlier this year as part of the yearly checkup no problems everythings still great.They were even in my home this week handling a small little problem but I had and came in after they got the phone call told me theyd be there in the morning came in the house knocked it out and said have a good day sir.I would recommend that if you want to company thatll be there for you in the middle of the cold mornings. There if you need some help with something at all. Probably with a really good deal on the installation of some good priced systems you might want to give them a call.Thank you to the entire Buckners heating and cooling team.

I purchased an older home which required sewer work to be completed which this company did. As with many things problems multiply and after the work was completed my drains were now not draining. I needed another tech to come out and help with they got someone out the very next day. Determined that a fair deal of roots in part of the sewer line were causing the issue. The roots were angered out and I was able to use all my plumbing as normal.I signed up for the annual maintenance subscription and got a discount on all service since as well as a complementary inspection. I received an informative inspection performed by May. May made sure to walk me through each observation she had in and outside the home checking all areas where water flows out of a pipe and down a drain. Really appreciate this company helping me determine solutions as a first time home buyer.

I feel like that should be included to keep concrete from having a weak point, especially on a 15k project.Overall i am satisfied with install. My beloved but aged furnace was replaced by Buckner’s before it pooped out in the middle of winter! It was cheaper to replace it now before cold weather and higher prices crept in. Buckner’s came out and assessed what I needed. Then two workmen came a few days later (as scheduled) and replaced the entire furnace in about four hours. Nick and Caleb C. were professional, efficient, and pleasant. Could not have asked for a better experience. They reviewed the new system with me and cleaned everything up. A 97% efficiency gas furnace with variable speed motor was installed on 11/14/23 and I could not be happier. The old furnace was 80% efficient & my house is so much more comfortable now plus I will save on my gas bill. From the office staff, to the project manager and the team that installed the unit, all were polite, helpful AND knew what they were doing. I highly recommend Buckners & will continue having them do the annual spring/fall maintenance just as I did the 20 year old furnace that was replaced.

Buckners recently replaced my air conditioner and furnace. Everything from the initial estimates through the finished installation was handled professionally and in a timely manner. They listened to my situation about what I wanted to do for new equipment, priced it out, and we sealed the deal.The install was about a week after we inked the deal and it went smoothly. Once I let Ian, Aiden, and Jacob B into the house, they went about the business of removing the old equipment and replacing it with the new. The noise was negligible and I was easily able to keep working while they completed the install.I highly recommend Buckners for your HVAC needs. They were priced reasonably, took care of rebates on the new equipment, showed up as scheduled, and completed the work within an 8 hour work day.

Buckners was referred to me several years ago when my AC went out in the middle of the summer. They found a time to fit me in and repaired my AC quickly. This winter my heat went out and they came out quickly to assess the problem and discussed options with me. The best was to get a new system. They were able to schedule that quickly as well. I was not able to be home for the installation so my dad came. My dad is quite a bit more discerning than me about home repair/services. He was VERY impressed with the service and quality from Buckners. If you are looking for a heating/cooling company then I would highly recommend Buckners!

But I am writing this review to help others find / go with this company - I am not a relative or a friend of anyone at Buckner. Our home HVAC system had been regularly repaired over two decades (death of a thousand cuts) and the latest epic fail during the recent sub-zero week of weather was the final straw. I did web research of HVAC service companies in the Kansas City Northland (7 companies with review of their customers reviews) and Buckners was so far ahead of the others in reviews and customer interface (web presentation, phone outreach, text notifications of status and timing, friendly people) that I scheduled a consult. Steve (sales rep) showed up the next day, assessed the broken system, and provided a detailed recommendation of what was needed - no pressure, just solid Midwest sharing of advice and Buckners capabilities. I followed up with a call to Steve and we closed the deal - no pressure, lots of professionalism, straight up legit. Due to the cold / emergency, they sent a full three-man crew (Max, Ian, and Charles - ALL FANTASTIC / FRIENDLY GUYS) to the house the next morning on time, fully prepared, organized materials and tools/clean vehicles, briefed on what was to be done, skilled and very friendly and respectful. They answered every question, worked diligently, and the install of a completely new system was fast, absolutely no drama, and so far beyond what Ive received from past HVAC companies that I actually felt like I had to point others to this company...again, I dont have any ties to Buckners, but I recommend them strongly.

I had my gas furnace go out while I was out of town. My family helped get it temporarily repaired by another company. It went out a week later when I was back, and the other company had a very high quote for repair. My gas hot water heater also died at the same time.I called Buckners to get another quote that was significantly more reasonable and about $1000 less than the competition to fix BOTH issues instead of just the furnace. They saved me significant money by working out the warranty on the hot water heater part without me even realizing to ask about that! Both items were repaired very quickly by the nicest, most professional technicians.It was really a joy to talk with them while they conducted repairs. I have been working with Buckners, recommended by my neighbors, since I moved to Missouri in 2023. I have been impressed by each and every experience with Buckners technicians, and they managed to exceed my expectations once again when they sent Jacob King for my HVAC winterizing. I may have been his final appointment for the day, but he was as energetic and upbeat as if it were his first appointment of the day. I live in a retirement community, and his first question was about my neighbors to ensure they could still leave their home because parking space is at a minimum. My husband and I started having issues with our furnace about a week ago. It was blowing air, but it just wasnt heating the home. Our Nest/Google system recommended a reputable company to come and check everything out. We have, what I would consider, a middle-aged furnace (about 7 years old) and have not had any issues with it until now. After looking at our system for about 10 minutes he quoted me nearly $2,000 for replacement parts and labor. This seems like way too much to spend before getting another opinion.I called Buckner the same day and they were able to come in the afternoon, about 2.5 hours later. Super friendly and gave me a 15-minute heads up before they arrived. Within 20 minutes they came up and said it was good to go. There was carbon buildup on the flame sensor... that was it. About $114 total including the diagnostic charge. Before they even left, I felt a difference and could feel warm air coming into the house. They also took the time to educate me on how it worked and why this happens so that we could watch for a similar issue in the future.Before shelling out your homes savings fund, get a second opinion. Or just call Buckner first. Would absolutely recommend this company!!

I was very impressed with the service we received from Buckner. When our furnace went out I called another company. They came out and checked the furnace and said that it would need to be replaced but they would have to have a salesperson come out and give me an estimate and they couldnt give me any idea when that might be and was even less knowledgeable as to when they might be able to come back to install. They also kept pushing that I should replace the air conditioning unit at the same time as the furnace. I called Buckner and Steve was here within a half an hour, showed me what they had to offer and when I could expect installation. The prices were very reasonable and I had a new furnace installed a couple of days later. I will recommend Buckner to anyone who is in need of heating and cooling repair or purchase! Buckners installed the HVAC in our new house 12 years ago. I have had a maintenance agreement with them since. They come out twice a year to check the units. Almost always its a tech that has been out before. The units have never failed. We finished the basement after we moved in and was not getting warm enough there, even with putting ducts in.I contacted Buckners and was called back the next day by Steve. We set a day that was convenient for me. We discussed the issue and talked over several options. He came back the next day with his suggestion and a written quote. We ended up with a split system by Mitsubishi . I managed 11 buildings before I retired and the commercial tech we used suggested also.Scheduled an install date. Lost the compressor on our heat pump a couple weeks ago. The replacement price was fair. The installers were polite, and obeyed the current health precautions. I proposed a different thermostat than what they normally installed. They reviewed it, and said it appeared to be a good thermostat, and theyd do it without any extra expense. They rebuilt my entire AC system in about 3.5 hours, and didnt leave any messes behind. The only issue was that it took 18 days from when I said Yes, install it. before the installers showed up. But, Steve kept me informed the entire time.

Let me start off by saying this, if you go anywhere else for your HVAC support in the Kansas City area, you are making a tremendous mistake. I am relatively new to Kansas City and when my home needed two new HVAC systems, I spoke with and researched over 6 companies. All where fine but Steve Blow (Sales) came in an provide me a estimate on what I needed not what he thought I should buy. We discussed upgrades but never felt pressured to upgrade. Then Steve was responsive to my questions and clarification on financing. The sales process was simple and we were set for install. Then on install day, Joe, Sean and Ethan were at my home promptly in the morning ready to work and worked a full day (830 am to 530pm) with no time wasted. Because the job was bigger, they came back for day 2 of the install and knocked out another full day (830 am to 600 pm). Joe and his team were patient with questions along the way and ensured we knew what was happening and what to expect. They conducted an excellent job installing the systems and fully cleaned the area prior to departure. I will finish with saying that if the maintenance team for Buckner is anything like the Sales and Install teams, then my systems will run well past the manufacturers recommended timeline. Again, if you go somewhere else, you are missing out on an opportunity to have a contractor that you can trust and know that they care about the details and getting the job done right! And oh by the way, the systems were almost $3,000 less than all the other quotes. Thanks Buckner and the entire team for a job well-done!

On July 25, 2017 Kansas heatwave and severe storm power outage killed my A/C. The company I had a service call into never showed up for repairs. I made a call to Buckners instead, not even sure if they serviced Kansas. After the operator verified, she was able to set up an appointment for same day salesman visit. Steve B. was very knowledgeable, answered all my questions, and did not try to confuse me with too many options. He was able to set me up with an install the very next week! The installers, Colt and Jacob, were very courteous. Colt got his foot smashed halfway through the installation, but hobbled around to finish! I hope it was not broken! So glad I contacted them! Our experience with Buckners has been good in the past and for this new install. First experience was 2006 with a Tech, Tony, and we had to have a new coil installed on the second floor unit. It has lasted twice as long as the original coil and is still running good. Our primary unit recently began to fail (Heat pump, propane fueled, and AC compressor) after 18 years. We upgraded to a new heat pump (still propane fueled) with a 96% efficiency rating and a 16 SEER AC unit with a variable speed fan. Installers Joe and Colt were great and walked us through the new thermostat and app that goes with it. They showed us good basics on taking care of the units and were friendly and informative. This unit seems to keep our home more evenly heated and the app makes it easy to control your temperatures from anywhere. So far, so good. We are anxious to see what the savings will be on our electricity and propane usage. We are also going solar so we may be able to update this review as how it is all working together.

I first used Buckners last year for some repairs needed on my furnace. They were quick to come out and had me up and running in just a little over an hour. I was impressed with the professionalism and how well he knew what he was doing. I was also impressed with how he was just telling me straight about the issue and seemed genuinely interested in only getting my furnace fixed and not up-selling me into any other services. It was quite refreshing.I needed them again this spring since my 20 year old heat pump - a/c unit wasnt coming on. My entire system is 20 years old and was not doing what we needed for us in the house. Steve was out to see me less than an hour later to go over replacement equipment options. There was no pressure selling, no up selling. Steve was great about simply explaining the pros and cons of the various options and was very knowledgeable about the equipment and how it would work for our home.The install experience was also great. Jacob and Shaun showed up promptly and were courteous, professional and very knowledgeable about what they were doing. They had the install done in that day as advertised and wouldve been done sooner if it wasnt for me trying to hold on to my finicky Nest thermostat. Once they swapped it out for the Trane thermostat that came with the new equipment, all was good.They cleaned up everything when they left and so far the system is working great. Highly recommend Buckners! We woke up to a cold house and a furnace that was only blowing cold air. We called multiple places that were already booked for the day. Buckners was also booked but offered an after hours appointment for an extra fee that was worth it to get heat going again. Gary, our service tech, was actually able to get to us before the end of regular business hours and only charged us the standard service fee. He took the time to explain everything to us about our furnace (we just moved in and werent familiar with they system), got our heat working again and also informed us about a part that was on its last leg and would need replaced soon. We have relied on Buckners for all our heating and cooling needs for a number of years now. In fact, Buckners installed the entire HVAC system in our house when we had it built in 2001, and over the years have done the tune ups and repaired things as needed. Last night the A/C stopped working about 930pm. I called the emergency number just to have a call in for today. Mike called me as soon as they opened this morning and scheduled me for a service call at their first opportunity, tomorrow. A couple hours later he called back and told me he had managed to schedule a technician for today around noon. Thank you Mike!!! How considerate, considering the sweltering heat!! Scott came out and in a few minutes diagnosed the problem, a bad compressor motor. Within an hour or so he had not only gone back to their shop to get the motor but also had replaced it and a bad contactor but checked out the entire A/C unit to make sure it was in good shape and good to go. Scott is top notch; knows his stuff. Professional, friendly, courteous...a definite asset to Buckners. Along with Mike. Our experience with Buckners over the years has been excellent. In fact I would have called Buckers instead of another HVAC company even if it had taken Mike another day or so to get me scheduled. These guys are all top notch; the best in the entire area in my opinion. Fair priced; reliable; responsive; very customer-oriented. They really know their stuff. Incredibly positive experience! With an aging HVAC system and a blazing summer on the horizon, we contacted four of KCs highest rated heating & cooling companies. A neighbor recommended Buckners. Its challenging to compare prices and systems with the myriad proprietary systems with tonnage and SEER ratings. Steve, from Buckners was the only one to genuinely listen to our HVAC needs. Though he provided options, he tailored these options specifically to our expectations. He didnt try to up-sell or pressure us toward a more costly system. After comparing our four bids and considering my neighbors recommendation, we selected Buckners feeling that they offered the ideal system at a competitive price. Accommodating our availability, we scheduled the installation. I subsequently contacted Steve with countless questions over the coming days. His timely and thorough explanations eased my concerns. I even modified our contract to add more options. Installers, Joe and Shawn S., are superb. They arrived on time and clearly explained the installation. They maintained landscaping as they repositioned the outdoor unit to allow better access to utility boxes and installed on a robust concrete pad. In the basement, they took meticulous care of personal items as they moved them around during installation. They put protective covers along the floor and surrounding areas. They finished the entire HVAC installation including a whole-house humidifier requiring additional plumbing, neatly returned my personal items, cleaned thoroughly, and clearly explained how everything works offering advice to increase efficiencies. A new HVAC system is a costly investment; however, Steve, Joe, and Shawn S. from Buckners Heating & Cooling made this incredibly easy. Have always used Buckner’s for my home, replaced furnace today and couldn’t be happier with the service provided. Tony and Ethan showed up at 830am and were done by noon. They were courteous and respectful and efficient. Thank you again for the great service Buckner’s!
