Absolutely wonderful service from Darnold and Lyons Heating & Cooling! Furnace igniter broke just before a winter storm on a Sunday. Could not find a part anywhere! Darnold and Lyons called me immediately after I left a message and initiated a service call. I was kept informed the entire time regarding arrival time, cost, etc. JR Bishop drove out DURING the snow storm to replace the igniter. I could not be happier! From start to finish, this company is excellent with service and communication! I highly recommend them for any heating/cooling needs!

This is at least the third time in 6 years that I have needed DarnoldLyons Heating and Cooling to respond to fix an issue on my HVAC system that they unfortunately did not install. Previously, it was for simple and relatively inexpensive issues. Today, my service needs were more extensive including a leak check, repair of a broken line, and refilling of refrigerant. The price paid was fair and the technicians JR Bishop and Ryan were professional and very good communicators about what was needed and how much it would cost. I simply will not call anyone else except DarnoldLyons for my heating and cooling needs.

In the middle of a heatwave my furnace broke down and simultaneously a drain got clogged. Its an old house so these werent easy fixes. I called Darnold and Lyons and they promptly returned my desperate call.They diagnosed the problems and within two days they replaced the dead furnace and gave me an estimate on the plumbing issue.They had replaced my air conditioner unit several years back so I knew could trust them.The crew faced challenges replacing the furnace and they didnt gripe, just got to work and figured it out. Professional and courteous despite the extra time they had to put in to complete the job.I especially want to laud the efforts of Josh who fixed the clog and upgraded the plumbing. Again, a really tough job in tight quarters. I was impressed.It is rare when one feels they got their moneys worth. I would not hesitate to call on them again. As there is a 96 year old residing here the situation was dire. I cant tell you how grateful we were for their work.Thanks again to the Darnold and Lyons people. I always recommend them to my friends and family.

Just want to give a shout out to our technician JR Bishop. Our AC needed a new coil and he got it replaced yesterday. It wasnt an easy job but he worked tirelessly to get it done. JR has been so nice to work with. Great job and great service! Also, I would like to thank Tammy and Ben who also helped us out with this AC problem during some really hot days. Fast, Friendly, and Always Professional!I have used Darnold and Lyons for serval years. They replaced a fan unit on my HVAC. I used them to do a total HVAC system replacement. Most recently I contacted them for a plumbing job. Jason called 15 minutes before arriving. Reviewed the work with me. My frost free bin was not repairable so he replace it and my leaking main shutoff valve in a couple of hours. Jason was skilled, polite, and professional. Took time to leave the work area cleaner than he found it.I would use D&L for my plumbing and hvac needs again.

Hottest day of the year and our AC went out! Darnold and Lyons sent a technician named J.R. to make the repair. He recognized the bad capacitor in less than 5 minutes and was finished and gone in less than 30 minutes. Professional and extremely courteous. J.R. also recognized that the bad part was still under warranty after 9 years. I certainly would recommend Darnold & Lyons for your HVAC needs and I highly recommend J.R.

This company always goes out of their way to be accommodating for my mothers needs. Over the years they have found hard to acquire parts for an old heating system, worked to keep it running, and were quick to replace it when the 1950s equipment finally died out. Today her AC quit cooling during the recent record hot spell. They worked to get someone out the same day to get us back in the cool. Cant say enough good things about this company and all the techs and staff who we have interacted with over the years.

Was very explanatory of issues and found several parts that needed replaced. They had the parts on the truck and quickly had my heat pump back up and running. Unfortunately, it only lasted a few days due to a possible lack of freon or leak. Which is too expensive for me to have repaired at this time.UPDATE: The owner spoke with me and scheduled another visit since the unit was still under warranty. The same guy returned and wasnt very professional this time. Basically, left me with a unit still leaking freon and no explanation as to why. Once again, I spoke with the owner, Grant. He scheduled another visit with another repair guy. Upon his arrival, which was the third repair attempt since May 1, he listened intently to what I had noticed about the unit quitting and was apologetic for the way the previous repair guy conducted himself. He quickly realized that the A-coil was clogged with dust, cleaned it thoroughly and with patience he made sure the pressure was holding the freon. With a keen eye he noticed a vapor leak in the pipe connection. With the connection repaired and after making sure the pressure was holding, he suggested a few things that might have been overlooked on my part and that with a filter replacement and the winter roof removed from the unit it should be fine. But it only lasted 2 days and the unit stopped again, still losing freon somewhere, somehow. They had to come back out again, this time he was puzzled and worked several hours in the heat, refusing to give up until he had my air back on. He found the issue, unable to fix it due to the part being ordered, he gave me 2 days of air and a week later he arrived with the part fixing my unit finally. He even called 2 days later to make sure it was still running cool. I wont put his or his coworkers name on here, but the repair guy that finally fixed my unit was dedicated to his job, he couldve given up and suggested I buy a new unit. He was a blessing to me and my cats, never rude and never giving up. He had already worked late and overtime the day before getting mine fixed, again several hours passed quitting time he took his time securing the lines and making sure they held good pressure before leaving. If anyone deserves a day or two off for all the hard work, being dedicated to his job with the heat and humidity and sweat, always smiling and showing compassion after the job is done. Sorry for the long review, but 2 months after my unit quit, its up and running. And the thanks go out to Grant for hiring such a professional repairman that went above and beyond his job requirements to get the job done and keep the customers happy, cool, and warm. I hope you get a couple days off for the awesome job and skills you have, or something better like a raise, or promotion, you deserve all 3 in my book.

Replaced a 29 year old Carrier central AC with a new Carrier 4-ton unit. Darnold & Lyons workers arrived promptly and were extremely skilled, personable and professional. The lead worker, French, possessed a wealth of technical knowledge. They removed all of the old AC related units, installed the new compressor, condenser, condensation pump and tested the new AC. Testing the cooling efficiency of the new Carrier unit, I almost expected ice cubes to come out of my floor vents. The installation was completed in four hours. They serviced our system until it needed to be replaced due to old age They had our heat back on shortly and we were thankful for their services. My moms furnace went out and with me being in another state, they were quick to respond to her issues, they had someone there within an hour, had a quote to replace the furnace and A/C (was a package unit) which was very fair, and the installation was done the following day. Moved into my first home 2 weeks ago and AC unit went out on July 3rd. Calling around no one was available for weeks and the inside of the house was approaching +90 F in the evenings!! Darnold & Lyons were able to get us on there schedule within 4 days of us calling.Our techs name was John, super nice guy that explained everything to us, checked both the inside and outside units, cleaned out the filters and made sure nothing in the house was damaged in the process.Service fees and parts cost were very reasonable! I would highly recommend them to anyone in need in the area!

Everything checked out ok and I am very thankful for his expertise. Great technician!

Roy Lyons went out of his way during the hot month of June when our AC went out to find us window units cheap to get by Till they replace our busted AC system and heat pump. He is a class act and helpful Christian man and he will always get our business. And he treated my infant daughter as if his own. Great man great business quick work and quick response times he pulled off another job to help and came to find out well he came to find out my wife was pregnant and had a 6 month old at home and he got on the job quick. I highly recommend darnold and Lyons due to professionalism and total class act and great prices. If you want it done right the first time call these guys.... DODRILL IS OVER PRICED TRUST ME I KNOW FROM QUOTES AND NOT VERY FRIENDLY. And Teays Valley heating is out for your money not relationships between customer and themselves. Roy made us feel as family. I SEARCHED GOOGLE FOR 5 STAR REVIEWS. DARNOLD & LYONS WERE ONE OF THE COMPANYS WITH 5 STARS. BUT IT WAS THE REVIEWS CUSTOMERS WROTE. I CAN UNDERSTAND WHY. THE SERVICE MAN WAS NAMED JOHN AND HE CAME IN AND IMMEDIATLY SAID I KNOW EXACLTY WHATS WRONG. SAID IT WAS AN EASY FIX. I WAS SO RELIEVED. HE MADE ME FEEL COMFORTABLE AND HE WAS VERY CONFIDENT. HE HAD MY PROBLEN FIXED IN ABOUT 30 MINUTES. I HAVE JUST MOVED INTO MY PLACE AND ALSO HAD MY HEATING AND COOLING SYSTEM MAINTANCED BY ANOTHER SERVICE UNDER THE RECOMMENDATION FROM A FRIEND. IT WAS A BIG WASTE OF MY TIME AND MONEY. I WOULD USE DARNOLD AND LYONS FOR ANY AND ALL SERVICES AND MAINTANCE IF NEEDED. I JUST ALSO WANT TO TAKE THE TIME TO THANK JOHN AND JUST TO LET HIM KNOW HOW I AM SO GREATFUL. IM SURE THEY HAVE MANY GOOD SERVICE MEN BUT IM GOING TO TELL YOU JOHN WAS PERFECT AND KNEW EXACLTY WHAT HE WAS DOING.. I RECOMMEND DARNOLD AND LYONS HIGHLY.

Our 18 yr old A/C went out and we had another company provide repair and quote a new system. Communication from that company was not great, sometimes they did not even answer the phone. The repair was short lived and we decided to get a 2nd opinion from Darnold & Lyons. The receptionist answered promptly, was friendly and was able to get someone out that very morning. Grant recommended replacement and provided a quote. Darnold & Lyons has been much more responsive with communication and we felt they would be the best choice. We did not regret our decision. They installed our new system promptly and it feels good to have central A/C back in the house. The technicians were on time, courteous, cleaned up and left us happy! We are excited to be customers of Darnold & Lyons.

We purchased our house in 2000 and chose Darnold & Lyons Heating and Cooling in 2012 when we decided it was time to replace the two systems installed by one of the previous owners.The installers of our Carrier systems were knowledgeable and took great care to avoid any damage to their surrounds as they worked and cleaned up thoroughly when they were done.Over these 10+ years, we chose to have annual maintenance performed by this same company. The charge of a little more than a dollar a day seems reasonable for cleaning, changing filters, and servicing. Various technicians have come and gone but we have always had excellent service. Any concerns we have had were always addressed promptly and professionally. There was an occasion on which we had to have our technician work with a roofer and a plumber to solve a problem. Besides going out of his way to make a number of visits, our Darnold & Lyons technician interacted professionally and shared his knowledge comfortably with a team spirit.I would be remiss if I did not mention the two women who have been like command central--Rebecca for maybe 8 of our years with the company and now Brigette. These women answer the calls, listen carefully, ask pertinent questions, schedule your services and often follow-up to make sure you are satisfied. They have appeared to enjoy their work and the company they work for, and they care about each and every customer.When you invest in major systems for your house you have to be able to count on the company youve chosen to have employees on the frontlines that are like our technician and Brigette. These are the people who are the face of the company and they will be there for you for the years to come. They are why we continue our relationship with Darnold & Lyons and why we will buy from them if or when the need arises.
