Our kitchen sink was not draining at all Jason our technician was just great. When he came I explained that money was tight and his quote was more than generous. He had to come back another day with different equipment and that took care of the problem. Plan to use Sunkel Plumbing from now on for all our Plumbing needs and a special thanks to Jason for fitting us in when he was so busy.

Our sump pump started running constantly and making a weird noise. Jason was able to come over the same day I called, and it’s a good thing! The sump pump was overheating and had started smoking. As we suspected, the 14-year-old pump was dying. He described our options for new pumps including features and prices without any pressure. Jason was able to install the new pump that day. They put on little booties and put down mats to protect the for which I thought was very thoughtful. The repair was quick and it looks really nice - they did a great job! My sump pump discharge pipe was broken several feet below the ground next to my house foundation. Justin spent most of a day digging a deep hole by hand to locate the broken PVC pipe. He repaired the pipe and reinforced the pipe in the ground to insure stability and a long-lasting repair. Justin was very personable and took his time to ensure things were properly repaired. He spent time throughout his work to explain the process and what was needed to best fix the issue. We have used Sunkel Plumbing multiple times for a variety of work and they have consistently delivered high quality repairs and installation in a caring and professional fashion. I very much appreciate their expertise and professionalism and would highly recommend them!

My water heater broke, so I called Sunkel and they sent Dalton out to have a look. Unfortunately the unit was totally shot and I needed a new one. He was able to tell the cost and get a new ordered on the spot. The unit came in Thursday and Dalton was able to install it Friday. He spent 5-6 hours working like a champ so that I had hot water for the weekend. Dalton did a great job and went to every step to make sure none of the plumbing was damaged during or after the installation. Overall an excellent experience and I will definitely be calling Sunkel for all of my future plumbing needs.

A bit before Dalton arrived to install a kitchen faucet and flexible water lines, I received a short text survey that allowed me to communicate to the plumber exactly what I needed. Dalton arrived on time and was just incredible, taking time to communicate to me some of the pricing breakdown and explaining the best course of action before proceeding with the job. He was very thorough, yet he finished much quicker than I had anticipated. I admit that it may have cost a bit more than I had anticipated, but that is on me. However, I always say You get what you pay for, and Dalton provided bang for my buck!

The company was incredible to work with. I left an online scheduling request before they opened. I had a response within 20 minutes after they opened. They had their people at the house within an hour. Dalton was great. He was very outgoing and friendly and explained the work to be done and he explained other options to be added onto the work if I wanted them. There was no pressure-only information. What a wonderful experience! I called Sunkel at 11:30 in the morning and Dalton Lessen arrived at my house at 1:00 the same day. Impressed with Sunkel Plumbing! First, I called early in the morning and a very nice lady who was also empathetic to my plumbing issue answered the phone. That alone is always great customer service when someone actually answers your call and you don’t have to leave a message, wondering when they’ll call back. They had a technician who could come out within 2-3 hours, who did! Wasn’t sure I’d get same-day service or even that quick, but got it! The very nice and friendly technician, Dalton Lessen, introduced himself when he arrived and was very polite. He checked out my clogged kitchen sink pipes and explained everything he would be doing really well and quoted the final price upfront. He knows his stuff, and he also really listened to my questions and concerns. He did a very neat job, cleaning up after himself, even though I said I needed to clean anyway and was finished just under 2 hours. And it was a major clog, even having to run an auger! The cost seemed fair for what was done. I highly recommend Sunkel Plumbing!

I was having problems with my bathtub draining. Called one company and they never called back. Called Sunkel Plumbing. Was prompt on returning my call. They came out on a Thursday and tried to unclog it but weren’t able to. Came back on a Monday and replaced the pipes that were completely clogged. I don’t know how anything was going thru. I should never have this issue again. Jason explained everything to me that he was going to do and so I could understand. I will called them again whenever I have any other issues. If I could give more than five stars, they would definitely get them!! Thank you for all you did!!

Dalton from Sunkel came to my rescue today. I have been having plumbing issues since June. Originally Babbs Plumbing came out in June. They were going to put in a clean out valve and replace some pipe. Well months have gone by and all I have gotten is I will call you back. I definitely don’t recommend them to help you with anything.Now desperate to get my plumbing fixed; A friend of mine recommended Sunkel Plumbing. Thank the Lord, for the serviceman, Dalton. He was so professional and personable. He explained everything to me so I could understand what was going on with my plumbing. Moving to a new town in a new state, you never want to have a plumbing emergency late on a Saturday and have to cross your fingers that the plumber you choose is a good one. We called Sunkel and Dalton was on site really fast and went above and beyond to solve our problem, which ended up being a broken sewer line so we have had time to get to know Jason as well. Dalton did an excellent job refitting and assembling both p traps and the garbage disposal in my kitchen. Sunkel sent Dalton out two days after I called for a normal appointment. He arrived during the 8-10AM time frame as Sunkel had promised. Dalton gave me a quote to do the work, and after I got over the sticker shock, Dalton started right away. He was quick, respectful, and remembered what I said about the loose kitchen drain (needed some putty and tightening). The price was fair for the work, and the work was done properly. I am definitely satisfied with the work and would recommend!Update:Dalton did have to come back out due to leaks, but Sunkel scheduled the revisit as soon as possible. The sink basin was leaking without an obvious cause, but Dalton put in a new one without charge. Thanks so much.

My water heater died and was leaking water all over my basement when I called Sunkel Plumbing. The lady that answered the phone was very sympathetic and said she would have someone out within the hour. Dalton and Jake arrived and stopped the water immediately and gave me an estimate on a new water heater. They called their office and there was one available and they picked it up and came back and had it installed very quickly. Both Dalton and Jake were very friendly and went over everything with me. I cannot thank them enough for their quick and efficient service. Highly recommend these guys!!

I had the disaster of finding my water heater spewing a river of water all over my basement in late December. Got the water shut off and called Sunkel at the recommendation of my sister who also had a good experience. I was burned in the past by over inflated prices from a different high profile company and was skeptical. I was SO happy with the rapid response to the call and dispatching Dalton and Alex virtually immediately. They arrived and assessed the situation, explained the options. Rather than waiting for the new water heater to be delivered from the warehouse they decided to go pick it up themselves to get me up and running a little quicker.The guys were great. They were efficient, informative, and did a great job. They left no mess whatsoever and by the evening peace was restored in the house, except for the 8 fans and two dehumidifiers running and cleanup from the “flood”! I just recommended Sunkel to a neighbor a few hours ago and remembered I needed to complete this review!

Dalton and Jake arrived on time, provided estimate quickly, then got to work. Removed old kitchen sink and installed new one and new faucet. The opening in the quartz countertop ended up being too small for new sink, so they had to do a lot of cutting, but didn’t up the price. We were happy to have hired out this work. Would reccomend Sunkel.

New Gas Line: I was converting an electric stove to a gas stove, and converting 2 fireplaces to gas so I needed gas lines for all 3. My old gas line was too narrow for my gas dryer, furnace, water heater plus the added range and 2 fireplaces. I needed a whole new gas line run from the meter. To make things more difficult I have a crawlspace. In about 2 1/2 days they had the new gas line in with little to no disruption in my daily activities or access to heat. Throughout Dalton & Jake were pleasant, professional & reassuring. I finally made it down into the crawlspace myself after a couple weeks and am very pleased with the way the gas pipes were configured and secured.I will definitely call Sunkel Plumbing for future needs.

I have had many different experiences with plumbing outfits in Bloomington Normal, by my experience wit Sunkel is exactly what they advertise.....world class. I made my appointment online easily on a Sunday, and had a confirmation within an hour. I received an email on the date of service letting me know that I was next in line and letting me know what to expect. This email is what you would expect from a customer service oriented company. Just a couple of minutes later, my plumber, Dalton sent me an email letting me know that he was on the way. Dalton was very personable and knowledgeable. He let me know what they would do and how much it would be and kept me apprised along the way. True to their word, they left the place cleaner than how they found it! I am so glad to have a place I can trust if I run into issues again! They have my business!!!

I had a new dishwasher delivered from Home Depot and included installation in my order only to learn that the delivery company wasn’t able to handle and I would need to call a plumber to swap the appliances. In a panic, I asked a friend if they had any recommendations, and I am SO GLAD she referred me to Sunkel! Vicky took my call, and told me she could get someone out within an hour. I couldn’t be happier with the work done by John and Dalton. The dishwasher was a tricky fit, but they found a way to get it done without any sacrifice in quality. Had Sunkel Plumbing at my home today. Technition Dalton worked diligently to get sewer line open. Even tho he was unsuccessful in doing so, he was very informative and kept me updated on what was going on. Gave me options and estimates for additional work. Roots were so bad in lines it will have to be dug up and replaced. Dalton keep apologizing even tho it wasnt his fault. Only problem was I wish he had told me when he was going into overtime and what the fee was beforehand. I Would still definitely recommend Sunkel Plumbing.

We live in an older house (early 1900s) and well established neighborhood. Its quite an undertaking on a few different levels (cost, trench, basement floor demo, choice of plumbing services) to proactively move forward to replace both a sewer line and water line between our house and the curb before an eventual fail of one or both. When it came to choosing a contractor, we feel that we made the right choice from start to finish. Jason responded soon after I initially contacted him about doing the work. He explained everything from demolition work to the potential extra work and cost depending what was found along the way. Once the project began, Jason and crew worked long hours to restore our sewer and water services. In addition to their quality work, I most appreciated the overall communication, response, and answers from Jason and his crew along the way. Its hard to know all of the contributing factors when any business explains how busy they are and how difficult scheduling is. Jasons good communication kept our expectations totally in sync with the timing and the work itself. Thank you Sunkel Plumbing!

Dale replaced a split, leaking pipe behind my basement wall, replaced two aging water heaters that were on their last legs and is working a project to run gas lines to a pool heater and fire bowls. He then performs the work in a clean, professional and skilled manner.Jason has been onsite a number of times as well, providing expertise and assistance. We called Sunkel Plumbing to come and bid out a few things we wanted done around the house this past autumn. Jason came out and did a walkthrough with us as we discussed the things we were looking to have done and to get some feedback. He provided us with lots of information and had bids sent to our e-mail in short order. The bids were broken down into different tiers of prices with descriptions of everything included with the bid, giving us the ability to decide with which option wed like to proceed. We ultimately had them bid out 4 different areas, and they sent us 4 separate e-mails with the options. We had questions about them and they answered them quickly, as well. We scheduled the work to be done, and they came out on the day we selected. Unfortunately, we hit some snags along the way due to the nature of some of the existing plumbing in our older home, but Jason called out some more folks to help to make sure the project got done on time. We are very satisfied with the work, and have even reached out to Jason since they completed the work when weve had additional questions, and he has been very quick to respond to those as well! So--I had a pipe burst. I remember Sunkel coming out to my childhood home, so in a panic, and after seeing generally positive reviews I called them. They came to my house quickly, and quite professionally fixed the pipe. Some more water came out during the fix, however the workers could tell I was a bit annoyed at this and they helped to clean up the water, which was very much appreciated.However, during the course of the job, one of my water valves that they were trying to make sure was off or on became busted, and was quoted $250 to fix if done today, or $350 if they came back later. I said Id have to think about it, but to be honest, Im pretty annoyed that something that was broken likely in the course of the workers job, I think any person would be annoyed when asked to pay for that.I truly hope that these are read, and that something can be done. I called the next morning to complain about the outrageous cost and $148.00 was additionally removed!! I was told there was a $200.00 charge just to turn the water off and then back on! 😳. I wish I had called around first, because, I have found out since that it should not have cost more than $250.00 total. I pays to shop around, especially if you’re on a fixed income and feel trapped to use a company or be out $95.00 for nothing!!

Highly recommend Sunkel Plumbing for your plumbing needs. Jason was nice and friendly. He did a very good job. He even fixed a small side project that we had intended to take care of ourselves, but he helped us with. We had purchased a new water heater from them a few months ago and they came and performed a 6-month flush. One small negative comment - when first contacted, a day and work time-frame was scheduled. Because of a prior job or jobs, he was running late, which happens. It would have been nice to get a call or text towards the end of the originally scheduled time-frame stating that he is running late and offering an updated time-frame. Overall rate them a 5 out of 5 stars.
