    Kurt Simms is the best electrician in the Austin area by far. We had multiple tricky installation and wiring issues during a remodel. Builder’s electrician said none of the things we wanted to do were possible. One meeting with Kurt revealed these were all things Kurt was willing and able to handle. Kurt has a completely positive “can do” attitude. He has gone out of his way on several occasions to get work done in time for next phases of our project.     I would 100% recommend Simm’s for electrical needs. Curt was extremely professional and efficient in his work. It’s not often you run into contractors with his integrity and honesty.He was able to source power from another outlet from and adjacent room to our bbq island when other contractors wanted to run a line from a breaker panel on the other side of the house. Needless to say, that would have run much more expensive and lead to impractical work.Thank you Curt and Simm’s electric!

    This is an easy review to write. Kurt and Mary are the real deal. Mary was easy to talk to on the phone and was helpful in explaining their process. Kurt showed up on time and gave advance notice of his arrival. He helped me troubleshoot a problem I created with an existing GFI outlet, he installed a new outlet and a new wall sconce. Kurt is clearly an expert who was willing to take the time to explain to me what I had done wrong, and explained what he did to fix it. We agreed on a project price for adding a wall sconce and switch. When he opened up the wall, it was clearly more work than he was expecting, but he completed the job perfectly and honored the original price he quoted.This is a real professional that perfectly completed the job and kept the site clean, with no unexpected damage. I recommend Simms to anyone looking for big or small electrical work.

    Kurt replaced a couple of faulty fuses that were causing problems with my home AC, and he cleaned up the wiring that he believed led to the wear on the fuses. He explained everything he found, made sure I understood what he was looking at, and educated me about various material choices that builders have available that might have led to the problems we encountered.As far as the ease of getting someone to my house - they have a contact form on their website that I used but would not recommend. I called the next day and Mary got me on Kurt’s schedule for just a few hours out. It would have been nice if the website was fully functional, but Mary was a star at working around my schedule to get someone to me on the same day.Very friendly service all around, and very professional. Highly, highly recommended.

    We’re very impressed with Simms Electrical Services. We recently purchased a plot of land in the Austin / Lakeway area and needed to add a 400 amp service rack, meter, (2) 200 amp boxes, pole, and (2) 50 amp RV outlets / Electric Car charger. Kurt walked us through the whole process from start to finish. Simms Electrical Services answered our calls immediately and addressed any and all of our needs. Work was started right away and completed on time / on budget. The craftsmanship and attention to detail was top notch! Very clean and organized wiring in boxes! Pole, rack, and boxes aligned perfectly. Everything completed exactly to spec and passed PEC electrical inspection with no issues at all.     This outfit is fantastic. We just looked for an electrician nearby when our main box started making popping noises and the internal breakers kept tripping. I was concerned that it would take a while as it was just a couple days after the storm and thought most electricians would be busy but Simms was able to show up ~3 hours after I made the appointment. Very courteous, professional and knowledgeable. Could have had me fixed up in 15 minutes after identifying a loose neutral wire but stayed an entire hour to do it right. Highly recommend.

    Kurt installed a mobile generator in which I could receive limited power in the event of losing power. So my system was limited, but it did allow power to transfer water into my house, to run refrigeration, & to carry many (not all) of my in-house needs.     We were having problems with our smoke detectors. They had been changed out and all have new batteries but we continued to have intermittent beeping. Curt came out immediately and diagnosed the problem which turned out to be with a carbon monoxide detector located very near one of the smoke alarms. He was efficient, courteous and knowledgeable and we are now enjoying peace and quiet. We will happily recommend Simms Electric in the future.

    I hired Simms Electric to install electric services to my new 30 x 30 shop. He tapped in to my existing breaker panel in my home. He updated the existing service panel and rain the new service through my attic through the garage and underground to the new shop. He also installed a plug for my portable generator to my home and installed a manual changer over switch with new breaker for the portable generator. He also installed an underground CAT 5 cable to my shop to provide internet service into my shop. in my shop he installed numerous quad outlets, duplex outlets, GFIC outlets, and multiple indoor and outdoor lighting fixtures. He repaired my in ground sprinkler system electrical wire and water pipe that had been damaged during installation.He stayed in the agreed upon price and completed the project at the agreed upon time. He was on time each and every day despite have a fairly long distance to reach my home.He kept the work area clean each and every day. He kept me informed on what would be going on each work day. There were never any surprise problems that popped up. All circuits were tested upon completion and all work was done in a professional and courteous manner. Kurt Simms is professional and very skilled in his profession. I highly recommend him.

    Great experience! I called for a job at my sons house. They answered the phone right away. They sent someone out the next day. It took the electrician 5 seconds to figure out two different problems. One was the dryer wouldnt come on and it wasnt the dryer, it was a bad braker. And, the garage door wouldnt open, it was the outlet it was plugged into. We think and electrical storm broke these. They charge a minimum of $250 to come out. Our total came to $325.Will definitely use this company again if the need arises.
