Since purchasing my home earlier this year, I’ve needed a variety of services performed, ranging from plumbing work to electrical. As anyone who’s owned a home before knows, finding a good servicing company isn’t always easy and can sometimes take a few trials and tribulations. Sometimes though you get lucky and you stumble across a gem right off the bat. In my case, the gem was Molitor Electric. So far, Dan with Molitor has upgraded both house electrical panels, installed a few standard electrical outlets and even ran the wiring and installed two high powered outlets for two vehicle charging stations. At one point during his installation of the electrical panels I asked about the durability and quality of the panels with regards to overall cost. Dan responded by saying that he only used the best of the best for his customers and even though it might mean a high upfront cost, at the end of the install I would have the best panels on the market. As someone who grew up with a father who ran his own construction business for over 20 years, with the ideology of perfection and quality of work, this mentality holds a lot of deep meaning and value to me. Dan’s work is immaculate, detailed and professional. In the case of using an electrician, what you pay for is what you get. If you want professional, quality work don’t waste your time trying different electricians. Just use Molitor.

If you need a knowledgeable, honest, electric repair company look no further. I couldnt be happier with the service I received. It was a big job to change out my electrical panel. They figured out the problem, came up with a solution, and executed the project in a timely professional manner. They took the time to ensure I knew what was happening. Then they tested every plug in the entire house, and cleaned after the job was completed. They were courteous and respectful. I got 4 bids and they were the most cost effective and told me things about the job no other company mentioned. I highly recommend them!

As we all are doing while in quarantine, I started looking around my home and wanted to make some improvements. One of them being changing out the old and outdated light fixture above my kitchen table and getting a new one installed. I had no idea how to do this, but no fear, Molitor Electric came and installed my new light so fast! And they were polite and professional wearing personal protective gear the whole time! I would highly recommend them if you have some electrical work you need done around the house.

On a recommendation, we brought in Molitor to fix some subbar work left behind by a previous electrician. We then contracted with them to upgrade our house to 200amp service, including the installation of a new Eaton CH service panel and subpanel. We couldnt be happier with the work Dan and team did on our house. Not only was the work they did stellar, but they also found a number of safety issues left behind by the team that remodeled our house and addressed them quickly. A couple of other notes about the quality level of service that I think are particularly noteworthy and unique to our situation:* Our assigned disconnect date from the city for the service upgrade ended up being on the coldest recorded January day in Austin history (it was 16 degrees outside). That didnt stop Dan from coming out and performing the upgrade.* We had to transfer city permits from the old electrician to Molitor for the service upgrade, which ended up being tricky for a variety of reasons. Molitor handled the whole thing with professionalism, grace, and aplomb.We could not be happier with Molitor and would absolutely recommend and use them again for any and all electrical work.

Dan has an outstanding assistant named Claudia that has always been extremely responsive to all of my communications. We called Molitor Electric for the first time a year ago, after enduring several years of lights flickering, breaker switches going off at bad times (when is there a good time?) and network losing connection. Dan Molitor diagnosed the fairly extensive problems, including the fact that our electricity was fluctuating on and off. Thats why my ovens (microwave as well as stove) took so much longer to cook everything than they should have. Dan and his team handled everything, diligently and efficiently. And when a city employee caused a delay, which resulted in a power outage for hours, Claudia came over with stick-on lights and a cell-phone battery, and reassurance.They are all such nice people!So two weeks ago, when I was tired of getting a shock from a light switch in the carport, I got Dan to come again. That wasnt a simple problem either. He had to break through some HardiPlank that was installed by a home improvement company - which I will review harshly elsewhere - and correct faulty wiring that substandard contractors had done in 2015. I also had a new light installed over the front entrance to shine on the address. That took some creative design/ engineering. Dan wouldnt quit until I was satisfied. He and his whole team work so hard, evenings, weekends, all the time! And probably havent charged nearly as much as they are worth.

I called Molitor on Friday 12/16 when Id lost partial power at my house. I was really worried as we were getting some really cold weather the following week and was afraid for the tankless water heater etc. They were very busy and the 22nd was the earliest appt they had but said theyd try to get to it if they were in the area. I got a call on Sunday from Dan, saying hed stopped by and was able to replace a breaker in the subpanel and thought that would solve it. Sure enough it did! So grateful they fit me in. Ill definitely call Molitor the next time I have an electrical problem. I love having a local company I can trust to do work like this.

We bought a 45-year old home which needed a lot of electrical work. I found Molitor by reading their reviews, coupled with the fact that they’ve been in business in Austin for many years. We had a quote from one of ‘the big’ companies in town, and when we received our quote from Molitor, we actually had to compare item-for-item, because it was so much lower than ‘the big’!ALL was in order, and we chose Molitor.As with any older home, the job ran into a snag with the City inspection, and we had to go with a more involved remedy to bring the house up to code. At EVERY point along the way: we were kept in the loop daily on the current status, and what was next with the job. Every employee I met or communicated with was responsive, knowledgeable, and kind.Without any doubt, this is THE company you want for your electrical needs.

We had something fairly simple to fix (we hoped that was the case anyway!). Dan came in & got the broken disposal switch replaced in our kitchen and went ahead & replaced all 3 on that panel (for only $10 in parts). This was done w/in the hour for $150 hourly fee + the $10. It took all that time due to not so great tile work done in our kitchen by previous owners. He handled with care & it all looks good.It was a good experience & I think $150 base fee (for an hour) for coming out is about right for most electricians. Im happy to pay this if its someone I can trust. Well call them again next time we need electrical help.

I needed a new 50A breaker installed and my EV charger hard-wired in my garage. I called one highly rated company that was flaky. I called Molitor Electric, another highly rated company, and they picked up the phone! I told them everything I wanted, the EV charger I had, and sent pictures of my equipment. They promptly sent me a quote, which was a number that I expected for this kind of work. When Zach and Grant arrived to do the install they were on time, professional and personable. They also worked with me to place the conduit in the least visible way. I really appreciated that! They made sure I was able to connect my mounted EV charger to my phone app. Finally, I plugged the cable into my car and it started charging! I cant say enough great things about this company. They have been helpful with getting information on the Austin Energy rebate and on the Federal tax credit. Definitely will be using Molitor again!

Molitor Electric have proved to be committed to their work, there are no corners cut, if he can not complete the work with integrity he will not do it. His prices are very reasonable, he charges for the work but he does not over charge. Mr. Molitor is a man of his word.

I reviewed Molitor electric on Yelp, but I wanted to make sure that hes being ranked everywher people look. I have used Molitor for another job since my original review on Yelp in Feb 2019 (Dan replaced a standard switch with a fan/light switch, installed a video doorbell, added hard wiring and installing a floodlight camera). I would officially say I have a guy for that if anyone asked about electrical work. I trust Molitor to provide great service for a competitive price. I have recommended him to others on FB, on Nextdoor, in person, etc. Keep up the good work!

We really love Molitor Electric. They have always been very efficient and CLEAN, which I love, because I cant say that about every tradesman who has come into my home.Hes also very honest. I had an instance one time where my water heater broke and was under warranty. When I called the water heater company, they sent someone out and told me it was an electrical problem. So, I called Molitor Electric. A technician was sent out right away and it turns out that it was not an electrical problem after all. The technician could have easily charged me for unnecessary repairs but instead showed me that everything was working properly and showed me how to keep the water heater repairman honest when he returned. In fact, this exact situation happened to me again some years later and I was able to show the water heater repairman that it was not an electrical issue when he tried to claim it was.
