    I had a great experience with Magnolia! My water heater was leaking in my DC condo over the holidays and Magnolia came out immediately to inspect it. They set up a short-term solution to stop the leak and then promptly installed a new one. We got a second quote for a new water heater, which showed that Magnolia’s rates were very competitive. Pasquale is the plumber who provided our service. He is fantastic! Very knowledgeable and so good at keeping us updated with progress. He was patient and personable. I’d highly recommend Magnolia and specifically Pasquale for any of your plumbing needs!

    Called for same day service and within a few hours, a plumber arrived to my home. He explained how their estimates are tallied based on what needs to be fixed and what parts are required. The bathroom sink drain was leaking due to corrosion and new pipes were installed. It was a little pricey but in the end the leak was resolved. They guarantee the work for a year. The plumber, Anthony was polite, respectful and a true professional. I would call them for service, if needed again.

    Great Job Magnolia!!The team of Reggie, Tan, and Noel did an excellent job diagnosing the issue, replacing the circuit board, and installing the surge protector.They also completed my bi-annual service as needed.     It was the 1st time that i used Magnolia for my Heating and Mr Tan Cao did a great job to fix it. It wasnt easy to find out what it was but he did. You know how desperate you are when it is cold outside and your heater decided to quit on you. You need a reliable company to fix your problem as soon as possible and this is what Magnolia did for me.Also and very important the 1st contact you have with any company is the customer service and if it wasnt for Jennifer I wil not have gone with the company.     Magnolia sales & installation has been helpful and responsive. Our furnace died during the cold snap at Thanksgiving. New furnace within 24 hrs! They made a small mistake during installation and have been swift to get repairs done.

    Cant beat the service - went to website around 10am to schedule an appt. for A/C not working. Got a call within 15 minutes...offered 2 options for same day appt. Also called me 30 minutes in advance to let me know they were on the way. Technician was professional (uniform, shoe covers etc) and quickly diagnosed the issue and repaired the system in 30 minutes. Price was very reasonable from my limited knowledge of things. Great service and experience start to finish...highly recommend if in DC area.

    I had the blessing of having Tan Cao come out to service my A/C unit, and I couldn’t be more impressed. Tan quickly diagnosed a major issue that caused circuit breaker to trip and A/C not to start and resolved it within minutes by replacing the capacitor. He also recommended installing a surge protector to extend the life of my unit, which I greatly appreciated. In addition to the repair, Tan conducted a thorough summer inspection.     I had Michael and sons to come out to my mom house because she didnt have any heat. We needed a expansion tank removed but we was told that they couldnt do the job. So I went back to Magnolia and told them what I needed done and as of word they sent out a technician name TAN and let me tell you this man knows his stuff within a few hours my mom had heat and we all was very happy. Magnolia Is the best I highly recommend them for your plumbing and heating needs.

    We had a clogged basement stairwell drain that was 56 years old and had collapsed. Rain water backed up into our finished basement. The Magnolia crew dug a 65 foot drain trench to where our yard dropped off 10 feet and installed a new schedule 40 pvc drain pipe. The Magnolia crew did a professional job and fixed our problem, and we are pleased with the results.

    I am an Engineer at a condo community. I was having an issue getting the water turned off to replace shower cartridge in one of my units. I could not reach the valves. After cutting drywall i still could not reach the valves.I called magnolia and asked for some help. Cameron and Rebecca came for the service call. Rebecca climbed into the ceiling and turned water off.Cameron replaced valve in shower.Professional, clean, neat and knowledgable. Would recommend for both commercial and residential work.

    Efraim from Magnolia diagnosed and repaired a heat pump problem that 3 previous companies - including the original installer - failed to correctly identify (yet they still charged for unnecessary work). I chose Magnolia because they are certified to work on Ruud heat pumps, and am very glad I did. The price was also reasonable for the service. Excellent communication, rapid response. Im very pleased, and will recommend!

    For several months my hot water was not as hot nor as consistent as it was in the past. A plumber, who did not possess a thermometer, assured me that everything was fine. As if he would know. On a Thursday morning my shower temperature was lukewarm. That evening I called Magnolia who scheduled an appointment for the next morning. Friday morning Fred showed up on time and thoroughly inspected everything. Fred was amazingly polite and professional. I chose to replace my hot water heater, expansion tank, and mixing valve. I had a lunch appointment and when I returned everything was replaced and working. Over a month later everything is perfect.Ive shared my story with friends and those who have hired Magnolia in the past echo my experience. I doubt I will deal with any other company for my plumbing and HVAC needs.

    At the risk of repeating my prior glowing reviews of Magnolia Plumbing, I can’t speak highly enough about this company!!! Magnolia truly stands head and shoulders above other plumbing/HVAC firms — and I speak from personal experience after living in the DC-Metro area for 30+ years and having tried many of its competitors with disappointing results! The most recent Magnolia technician to service my home, Ernest is a shining example of the high quality service Magnolia provides clients — and that’s saying a lot because EVERY Magnolia technician with whom I’ve ever worked has been outstanding. Ernest first arrived for my annual “Platinum member” inspection of my home’s plumbing — which btw I must say is one of the best programs to enroll in!!! During that inspection, I asked him a few questions about replacing my hall bathroom’s vanity and toilet. I thought it would be a difficult, time consuming, extraordinarily expensive process. But Ernest was so helpful with suggestions and assured me the work could be done quickly, providing me with a precise estimate for the work. When I decided to move forward a few weeks later, Ernest was easily available to immediately schedule the work. On the day of the job, Ernest and his colleague Donavan, arrived promptly. They were professional, courteous, considerate of my property and just a real pleasure to work with. I can’t speak highly enough about Ernest especially. He understood my time constraints and made sure that they wrapped up the work in plenty of time for me to make an appointment I had at my daughter’s school later that day. He is a true asset to the Magnolia team!

    Had a very bad clog in my kitchen sink at least 10 feet down. I have a professional snake and worked on it for several hours and could not get it. So I call up a national chain that advertises a lot with a cute little jingle to their name. They sent a plumber out there and he can in with about 100 yard of snake on wheels. He worked for about an hour and then tapped out! Never seen anything like it! Said it was too tough to get and I should call another plumber with different equipment? Ok you had 100 feet of snake, you are paid staff for a plumbing behemoth. Oh and the best part you owe me $150! I called Magnolia. Steven Cherry came to my house the next day. I told him all I had been through and that it must be a really major and tough clog. Steven grabbed his equipment and calmly and confidently said “I am pretty sure I can get this”. In less than an hour he took out every clog in about 20 feet of drain showing me the grease that was the culprit and correcting stating “grease smells worse than a sewer sometimes”. Steven also gave advice on installing a cut in the pipe in the basement to get to any future clog easier. Oh and the cost was a lot cheaper than what the national chain promised if they were able to actually complete the job. I will always use Magnolia now and Steven is my plumber!

    Magnolia Plumbing DC changed our HVAC system. Unfortunately, none of the systems functioned properly after installation. Luckily, after several techs visits, a different tech, Efrain, came on two separate occasions to quickly resolve our issues with heating in February, and then the AC in April. Efrain was the knowledgeable technician who found out the mistakes and fixed them efficiently. He also was very polite and helpful with the technical questions we had. 5 Stars for Efrain, and for the lady in Customer Service, who with good manners managed my angriness for the whole situation.

    I’ve worked with Magnolia companies since I bought my home in 2021, but this review is really for Oscar and Ryan. Oscar was the technician assigned to my AC unit issue this summer. He was respectful, knowledgeable, professional, and extremely easy to talk to. He comes across as both trustworthy and genuine. And Ryan was the account representative assigned to my account. She’s good-natured and easy to talk to, but perhaps most importantly, she’s excellent at following up on questions I had about the repair. Her drive to bring my problem to resolution made me feel like we were in good hands!I’d highly recommend Magnolia due to the experience I had with these two individuals.

    Instead of $12,600 I paid $814!! We had a quote from a reputable plumber in DC but they totally provided an estimate that was apparently way too high. Magnolia sent Nelson out and he provided a bid that was stepped, with the worst case being approx. $2,000. These guys know what they are doing and super honest! And fast!!!

I opted for a same-day call with a 3-hour window. Magnolia later called me during the window with an update on their tech’s ETA, which I appreciated. The tech, Fred M., later called me with a further update and some additional questions about my issues. When he arrived, Fred was very knowledgeable, efficient, and courteous, and he took the time to explain what he was encountering and doing as he worked. My issues were successfully addressed and I was very happy with Magnolia’s customer service and expertise.

    Ill never call another plumber in DC. Twice now Magnolia has come in after larger services were unable to solve our issues while still trying to charge us comical sums.     Magnolia Plumbing Service. A couple of days ago I noticed water was leaking from my hot water tank. Call around for estimates for a tankless water system but was shock at the prices. I call several companies for the estimate and decided to go with a regular tank water heater. I chose Magnolia Plumbing to replace my tank. The plumbing service technician was mainly why I chose this company. He followed up that night with a call to see if I made a decision to go with his company. He saw that my water was ready to go and to call in the morning if I had any problems. Sure enough, that night the water tank fail and water all over the place. I called the plumbing technician Pasquale Skok, he call back and told he would check his schedule and see if he could come that morning. He did come and installed my new water heater and this is the first time that I received such great service from a Plumbing company. Magnolia Plumbing your technician is a true value to your company.     Magnolia was fantastic from a quick, professional reply to being right on time. Ernest and his assistant were knowledgeable and efficient. Ernest was also very friendly and accommodating. The original quote for a plumbing clog in the home seemed exorbitant to me and after he told me the price, I told him that I would gladly pay his visit/diagnostic fee, but $500+ for what was about an hour or less of work was just too much. Ernest was understanding and he gave me as many discounts as he possibly could to bring the price down a bit. Candidly, I still think that Magnolia’s rates are too high, but that’s the only complaint you’ll hear. The clog is repaired and it was done perfectly.

    When my heat stopped working as the days turned cold, technicians from two other (highly-rated) companies evaluated my HVAC system and were unable to diagnose the problem. The Magnolia technician identified the problem right away and we discussed the pros and cons of replacing only one part or the entire unit, which was already getting old and would very soon need to be replaced anyway. I decided to replace the entire HVAC unit, and the technician was back the next day to take care of it. I couldnt be happier with the professionalism and knowledge of the technician and the efficiency of service I received.

    Magnolia has replaced my old high efficiency boiler with a new one. Installation was done by Oscar and his team. They did a perfect job - entangled spaghetti of old wires, transformers and relays, replacing them with one control board, took their time testing individual heating zones, demonstrated how information panel works and answered all my questions. I was also pleased with Sam, who drafted the initial contract, presenting the most economical option, which on one hand included replacement of old equipment that had to be replaced, but leaving “as-is” a significant part of existing piping which was in good condition.

    Very disappointed with their service this week. My 98-year-old friend purchased brand new components for her heating unit less than a month ago but it does not work. She has not had heat for at least two weeks. Tam came out on 10/18 to service the unit but it is still not working. We called for service again on Tuesday 10/24 and Andre came out but was unable to fix. He promised us that he and Reggie, the manager, would come out the next day (10/25) around noon. My friend received a call around 1:00 saying they wouldnt be coming until Friday. I called Magnolia since this was not what we were told yesterday. During that call, I was told that they wouldnt be coming out until Monday. My friend spent the extra $111 to purchase the platinum service plan which provides priority service.Update 10/26 a.m.: Was encouraged to receive a call not long after my initial post, saying Reggie and Andre will come out today 10/26 between 11 and 1. Was a little discouraged with the reply to this post, however, as I am working on my friends behalf since her primary caregiver is recovering from surgery. There is still the issue of the unit not working (which will hopefully change this afternoon) and postponing promised service calls from Wednesday to Friday and then to Monday. I am grateful for their swift response to my post, both here and by phone.Update 10/26 p.m.: Grateful that Reggie and Andre both came out today to service the heating unit. They ordered a part, which should come in within the next few days, and they were able to temporarily restore heat (via Emergency Heat setting) until they can replace the part next week. Really appreciate Magnolias response to this matter.

    Fantastic!I cant praise Magnolia Plumbing Heating and Cooling enough! We needed a gas line leak replaced so we got 5 estimates. Magnolias quote was 70% less expensive than the others! The technician, Nelson, was the only one that informed us about a much less costly option ($760) than what the others proposed, which were all over $3000! The others were going to bust up my patio flooring and replace an entire segment of the pipes, leaving me with the cost to replace all the flooring. They claimed that Washington Gas would not pass the inspection if they didnt replace the entire line. Magnolia replaced only the portion that was leaking and did not have to dig up my flooring.The technician was super friendly and easy to talk to, but also very professional. He was not only able to answer all my questions but also provided in-depth explanations and kept me informed of everything he was going to do in advance.In addition to the technician being awesome, my experience communicating with everyone at the company was also great! They sent me texts and called me to keep me well informed of when the technician would be coming.I highly recommend Magnolia and will be using them for all my future needs!

    I put in a request on Sunday afternoon for a leak in my basement. Tayesha called me later that day and set an appointment for Monday AM! Gabrielle came out Monday morning. I asked Autero if he had a copy of the proposal Steve had sent me the prior week. He stated he did not, which I found odd. Autero and Steve do. I have had contact with Autero before and have always found him to be polite and professional, so the last call was out of the ordinary for his prior good service and assistance.Your prices remain exorbitant.

    Magnolia has been servicing my HVAC system for nearly 10 years. They also replaced my hot water heater in 2019. I subscribe to their Gold Plan, which includes an AC service in spring/summer and heating service in the fall. My system is 17 years old but by regularly changing the filters and Magnolia’s maintenance checks twice a year, it’s still working great. My system is in a tight space and Magnolia does a great job. I always request Tan Van Cao if possible. He’s very knowledgeable and professional.

But as for your plumber who came June 1, Mr Anthony Alfaro, he was totally unprofessional. Without even looking at my garbage disposal he began quoting all price options. My sink was not blocked, there was no back up or anything clogging system. When I finally asked him to look at the garbage disposal, without removing his coat just using the key and resetting it… it worked. He charge d the rip-off rate of $75 for the dispatch fee and another $123.21 for the reset. I Will use Magnolia for all HVAC needs but NEVER AGAIN for plumbing service. Nor will I recommend to my condo association your plumbing service. Kudos for Steven Smith and thank you for sending him. Thumbs down for Anthony Alfaro… and ne et again for him or plumbing service.

    I had an sewage back up on July 8th. Has another company resolve that issue. The main line was damaged and needed to be permanently resolved to prevent the back up from happening again. I could not get a hold of the other company to resolve.I looked up on Google for a alternative and found Magnolia Plumbing. I am in the service industry and lead a Sales team for a large fortune 50 company. I understand professionalism and its impact intimately.I can confidently say every single person I deal with (Jasmine in customer service, Berto who was the manager, Steve who helped with an unrated sink clog and the entire crew that resolved the pipe break) were the most professional, kind, educated and focused people I have ever dealt with in any company. They live up to their brand on the website and I am grateful to have found them.Yes they resolved my issue but the experience in dealing with this level of character far exceeded my expectations!I would give 20 stars if possible.

    I have used another local company to service my HVAC for the past two years and there was still an issue with a leak inside of my home. The only thing I was told was that the HVAC system needed to be repaired. Granted, this is the original unit the home came with but given that it was still working, I was hoping to get a better assessment of what could be causing the leak. I called on a Friday morning for a routine inspection of my heating system and Carlos R. arrived later that afternoon. He diagnosed the issues and explained them very clearly. He gave me an estimate for repair and presented options. He arranged with the dispatcher so that he could make the repairs the following Monday. He arrived on time with all the parts in hand that he needed to order. During the repair work, he discovered that the galvanized pipe to the heating system was completely blocked, and arranged for a Magnolia plumber to come in. Jermaine arrived and followed the same procedures as Carlos did to diagnose the issue and quote a separate price and time estimate. By the end of the evening, I had a fully functioning heating system, at a pre-agreed price. I feel that Magnolia has worked hard to build a culture based on customer satisfaction. For me, this investment will pay off because Magnolia will always be the first company I call when I have heating, cooling or plumbing concerns.

    Carlos R w/ Magnolia Heating & Cooling came to my home yesterday to assess issues with my Combo Heating-Cooling Systems delivery of central air conditioning. He quickly inspected both the internal and external equipment, and let me know that he was confident he could identify & resolve the issues. He did so soon thereafter.He wrote up the work required, gave me a thorough description of each task/equipment item involved, and provided me the cost estimate.Given his outstanding customer service & technical skills, I felt comfortable authorizing the work and making the deposit.He said he couldnt guarantee exactly when he would return the next day to complete the work, but said he would work to get it on the schedule quickly.He eventually told me that a 12-2pm next day window was what scheduling allowed for at that time.I was pleasantly surprised when he called to let me know that he would be able to arrive closer to 10am with all equipment needed to complete the work.Around 12 noon, my wife and 13 yr old son felt the cooled air flowing in the house and shouted out in joy!Carlos wrapped up the job as professionally and thoroughly as he started it.Because of Carlos, I signed up for Magnolias annual heating & cooling maintenance plan, and we hope we are fortunate enough to have him be the technician each time we are serviced.

    We needed a Spacepak expert to diagnose our somewhat unique HVAC system after or regular HVAC guys could ID the issue (which had to do with the electronics - circuit boards, transistors, etc - rather than the mechanical parts).Magnolia said they would send their most experienced tech, Tan, and he lived up to the title. He IDed the issue almost immediatly, fixed some of the mistakes from our last HVAC tech, and had our system running in less than an hour.The work was pricey, but frankly well worth it. Tans skillset - understanding botht the electronics and mechincs - is rare. Lessor techs would probably have wanted to replace the whole system or doing some sort of shortcut/ductape job that will lead to a burned out system in 6 months.We will be using them again - especially for anything we just arent too sure was done right by our contractors or something.

    This technician was WONDERFUL 👍. He did Everything my retired Brother-in-law said a tech should do. We have an older system but the tech was skilled in it as well as newer ones and wanted to help us keep it functioning as long as possible. THANK YOU SO MUCH.!! The other company tried to sell us a new unit and THEY WERE THE ONES WHO HAD NOT SERVICED IT since my brother-in-law retired years ago, even though we had a contract with them.     Magnolia Plumbing Heating and Cooling, I commend you for hiring Duane Cunningham. He was on time, very polite, honest with his assessment, extremely careful when entering and leaving the house, wore a mask and foot covers throughout the entire repair. Duane and his partner repaired a broken stack in my house. They were extremely efficient. Located the crack, explained how the repair would look, provided me a price before beginning the work, made the repair, conducted several test after the repair, found a second leak, repaired the second leak, went over the pricing with me in detail and left my house spotless. I would definitely use Magnolia and specifically Duane in the future. Outstanding work.

    Carlos Reed was our technician for an AC issue and did an outstanding job. He quickly identified the issues and got to work on them right away, keeping me updated about status and cost while I was at work. He identified and fixed other issues that our prior provider, Michael and Sons, never bothered to notice. He and Magnolia are an excellent choice and are much more affordable than Michael and Sons and their slipshod work.

    Ive used Magnolia for our HVAC and plumbing services. They hire quality service engineers and came with masks and shoe covers. For the AC issue they quickly fixed the issue (Cleaned out the filter in the closed recirculation system, which apparently is a common problem with the building). The plumbing inspection which came at a different time was done for free, because we have a maintenance contract with the HVAC group. They found a small leak under the bathroom sink because of not properly tightened drain lever cap. Good quality service personnel. Their schedulers also typically call us before they come. The last time they called to tell us they were delayed and we would have to reschedule as it was late in the day.

    I have used Magnolia many times now for plumbing - for recaulking in my shower to fix a leak, replacement of my garbage disposal, and replacement of my shower fixtures. And I now use them for my hvac system as well. I have always been incredibly impressed by the professionalism and timeliness of the service professionals, as well as the high quality work that they do. Most recently Oscar worked on my hvac, and in addition to explaining everything clearly he is just the happiest and nicest person to have doing work in your home.

    I phoned Magnolia on October 6, 2014 to request a service call for a leaking toilet. I was very impressed with their customer-focused service. I was able to get a same day appointment and was phoned when the technician was within a half hour of my home. Felix arrived on time with a warm hello. He diagnosed the problem quickly, explained my options for repair, and gave me a quote. He worked quickly and professionally and honored the quote when the job was completed. Felix also offered to inspect my hot water heater and explained the new government mandate (effective April 2015) intended to increase water heater efficiency. He was very knowledgeable and helped me understand the choices I could make. Felix delivered both outstanding advice and service.

    I had the most incredible experience I hadCalled Magnolia plumbing heating and cooling because my air conditioner was not working I needed to deal with a company that would work with a Trane Unit under warranty the company came out early the next morning with two calls beforehand that the tech was on his way then saying he still had a 1/2 hour till arrived he arrived on time he spent a lot of time diagnosing and trying to fix the problem he was so knowledgeable and efficient his name is Ephraim and I would highly recommend this company👍

    Please hire them! I’ve been tortured by my low pressure shower faucet for so long to the extent I was pretty depressed by it. Gabbi came over today and fixed it in no seconds! Gabbi was super nice and friendly. Most importantly, Gabbi really knew what she was doing! She is a true expert! Gabbi saved my poor life! The charge was also very reasonable!     After a very quick response from your dispatcher, Jim Blue of Magnolia responded quickly to our water leak emergency and replaced an old damaged pipe in our water supply system as well as a central heating water valve.     Whew, we have to talk about Derrick.Washington Gas came to my house after a report of a gas leak. They promptly shut off the gas, pointed out where the leak was coming form and left. This was when I called Magnolia Plumbing to fix the leak and hopefully get my gas turned back on. Enter Derrick, stage left. He showed up right on time and walked me through each step he took on site. However, since my gas meter is actually inside the home vs an external meter, he realized that 1.) Washington Gas might not have been able to point out the correct location of the leak. 2.) *IF* there was a leak, the location of the gas pipe to the air duct was too tight to fix and would result in having to create a new piping system. 3.) That the area Washington Gas reported the leak could have been coming from...would actually have been the responsibility of Washington Gas since it wasnt on the house line.He suggested that I confirm with Washington Gas first before spending any additional money (rerouting of piping would have been up to $5,000).Sure enough, Washington Gas came out the next day, determined there never was a leak and that yes-- If the leak had been in the original location they pointed out, it would have been the responsibility of Washington Gas to repair.Each time Ive worked with Magnolia Plumbing, they deliver quality service with exceptional communication.     Russ was awesome to work with at Magnolia. He came and took a look at our old water heater, which was still working but is going on 16 years old. He gave an upfront quote for the work, answered all my questions about going tankless versus a new tank, why theyre using the equipment theyre using, and all the other details of the install. We decided to move forward and when he came back, he was in and out in 2 hours. He and his team worked very clean, answered all my post-install questions, demonstrated all the features on the tank, showed us the plumbing enhancements they made, provided us with all the owners manuals, and lastly informed us about the upcoming inspection by WSSC. While Magnolia isnt the least expensive option, they are highly professional, employ high quality people, and are very very thorough. Were extremely satisfied.

Mr. Reed walked into my house and immediately told me that Id had a history of having the same problem with my furnace; and told me that he was going to resolve the problem today. And he did!     Felix S. was my Service Professional today, Tuesday, November 25, 014. He arrived on time this morning, identified himself, the company, greeted me professionally and confirmed my service request. He then put on blue booties, careful of my wood floors and respectful of my home. I was impressed. You do not normally see this in trade professionals.I have not used Magnolia in years simply because their prices were not competitive. Again, today Magnolias prices were more expensive than the other two plumbing companies I contacted, however they were available on a next day request.If plumbing expertise, knowledge and professionalism were the only standards used to contract for services, my Service Professional, Felix S. would certainly win my plumbing work for Magnolia every time. Please re-evaluate your pricing structure. I would love to use Magnolia for all of my plumbing needs.

    My AC gave out early this morning. I called Magnolia and they quickly dispatched Carlos to my apartment. Carlos was fantastic and in about 2 hours I was back up and running. He checked the entire system thoroughly and replaced a few other parts as well. Magnolia is the best and Carlos was fantastic. I purchased the annual maintenance contract and will be requesting Carlos again!
