I called the office as soon as they opened to schedule a service call for a clogged kitchen sink drain. They were very friendly and professional, and they were able to schedule a same day appointment. The technician Nick was excellent! He completed the job in approximately 45-60 minutes. He was kind and professional, and he answered all of our questions. We also inquired about some additional plumbing work, and we received a quote within an hour. I highly recommend Ron The Sewer Rat! Great Customer Experience!

We knew our problem was likely our main line. Ron the Sewer Rat was the only one of the four companies I called who answered the phone rather than taking a message. The receptionist was very helpful when I explained our issue and called the scheduler to see if she could squeeze us in. Our technician arrived at the end of the day after having already done several services. He was very pleasant, easy to talk to and explained everything clearly. I was able to watch on a tablet as he scoped the main line and pointed out where the problem areas were. I know this was not the cheapest service but we were very happy to get to work done immediately and feel the price was commensurate with the service.

Very very satisfied. I had a supply line that was leaking at an elbow joint. The scheduler provided me with an arrival window and a range of cost over the phone. Their automated communication system kept me informed. The technician, Leo, was professional and polite. He explained the issue and the proposed fix. He finished the job quickly and the area where he was working was left clean. The final cost was at the low end of the estimated. No surprises.

Excellent service again. 3rd time we have needed them. Found the leak less than 12 hours ago and its already fixed, and this is on Christmas Eve day. Chris H. was great and didnt leave a mess, he even applied silicone to the toilet again. Called last night, received a call last night and right away this AM. Chris even messaged and asked if it was OK if he arrived early. Excellent communication and service. Definitely will use again.

The scheduling was very easy. Great communication from start to finish. Jeydin did a great job fixing our clogged laundry drain. He was professional and very friendly. He provided an easy to understand explanation of our problem, made sure we understood the issue, general maintenance we can do, and the cost and what he’d do to repair. Above and beyond service and quality craftsmanship. After a routine drain cleaning one of the very kind and professional employees inadvertently damaged a much degraded pipe (that I was unaware of, and he was unaware of due to the fact that it was in the wall and older and more degraded than anyone realized). It wasn’t noticed at first, but when my husband was doing dishes an hour or so later, water was running into the basement. I called back right away and Mike, one of the owners was out the next morning to solve the problem. I was given an initial quote for the plumbing repair, but it ended up being much more extensive due to its awkward placement under the kitchen sink, next to a radiator in the wall. Rather than doing the “easy” approach which would have left me with a hole in the wall in the living room (and needing to hire a drywaller), Mike was surgical and navigated the problem via the kitchen. He was kind, professional, diligent and re-piped the whole thing. He charged me for a couple hours work when it took him 7. You don’t find people like Mike around much anymore, but I can tell you, he did an incredible job, fixed the problem and left me with a restored faith in humanity. Hands down, best plumbers and drain folks that I’ve come across. Excellent people and service all around. Thank you guys!

Perfect Process - Incredible Service - Expectations Exceeded — my experience from start to finish with Ron The Sewer Rat was nothing short of excellent. I needed to schedule a sewer line clean out and inspection for a client. The booking process was simple and I was offered to schedule as early as next-day, which we did, and the rep set some clear pricing and process expectations. I was told I would receive a call 30 minutes prior to the technician’s arrival, which I did. Kyle was polite, courteous and let me know what to expect during the visit. He was also able to find a better access point for the sewer line, which was closer to the street, and that saved us money on billing. After completing the clean out, he invited me to observe the camera inspection and explained the findings as he worked. All in all, the job was done, cleaned up and paid for in less than 2 hours. My clients and I couldn’t have been happier or more impressed, and I have moved this company to the top of my preferred vendor list, for jobs of this nature.

I have used Hessian plumbing for a number of years. As a first time home owner they came out and did some work, and it was so fast I didn’t have time to ask my usual 100 questions. I had to call him back a couple days later, and he came out again, just to explain everything to me again. Unbelievably great customer service.This time Johnny came out, and it was fairly bad news. He had to make some cuts in the ceilings and walls to find a hidden leak. He explained everything, then called the company who would come do the demo to allow him to come back and fix the plumbing! Whew!I am very confident you will receive the same great service at reasonable prices. They are local, and that means more now than it has in a long time. They are very responsive, they do great work, and they actually care.

Called Saturday morning, was given the option for same day emergency services or wait til Monday— we opted to wait til Monday.Easy to make an appointment, confirmation of services and scheduled appointment was texted and emailed to me, a reminder text was sent the day before, and a photo of our technician and text that they were on their way, and a picture and bio of our technician was texted to us ahead of time.Jordan J was great! Super respectful of our home (asked about preference for shoes on/off, was very careful about carrying equipment in an out of our house, etc). UPDATE: Ron the Sewer Rat called to talk about my experience. We discussed what SHOULD happen regarding service and customer relations. They assured me that what I experienced was not correct and that they appreciated my telling them so they can use it as a chance to educate their service team. I feel this positive move on their part was enough for me to bring them from 2 stars to 4 stars.PAST:I called for a maintenance cleaning because I had tree roots a couple years ago. 2 yrs ago I signed up for the annual maintenance and didnt receive a notification so I asked if they would still honor the price which was $288, still high for a maintenance cleanup but went with it. Definitely got the talk about how this was a favor and going forward the clean outs would need to be during certain months (Jan-April) during their low times. So, not a customer-friendly experience. The line was cleaned as requested. They said I had a hole at 57 and gave 2 recommendations on who to call to fix it. They included this info in the report on the invoice. If I wanted a copy of the video it would be another $99. So, almost $400 for a maintenance call. Ridiculous. I opted to not have the video right away because I wasnt sure if another company who was going to repair would end up doing a camera inspection on their own. I had the report and also a video from the past. I sent those items to companies to get their feedback on repair. They wanted the current video. Once I paid $99 and was emailed the link to the video, I was also given a report. I thought I already had the report on the invoice. Nope. This report had more details including multiple places along the line that were compromised and should have service. This was not on the report I was given. The project scope now changed significantly. Im disappointed in Ron the Sewer Rat service and pricing. I heard they had been bought out, not sure. That would explain the price gouging. Bottom line, Im not using this company any longer. Much better pricing for the same service out there. I will NOT be partaking in annual maintenance.

I had a clogged kitchen sink drain that I was unable to clear myself.I knew it would take a professional to get the clock removed.I contacted Ron the Sewer Rat and was able to schedule an appointment for the following day.Shortly after my phone call to them they called me back and said they had a cancellation and could have a technician stop by before noon.Nick H. was the technician they dispatched.He was at my house 20 minutes after I hang up the phone.He assessed the situation and told me what the cost would be and explain it if the clog could not be cleared what the next steps would be.I told Nick to proceed with the work and 15 minutes later we had a clog free drain.I was very satisfied with the service that we received from Nick and would recommend them for any drainage needs.

We have an unusual situation with how our home was built that now causes us to have our drain snaked about every 1.5 years. We had the pleasure of meeting Kyle W. today and sure enough he came in looked at the situation and checks everything just to be sure that the plumbers before him had done everything correct. I almost didn’t share my review because I don’t want to share my plumbers (😉), but they’re SO good at what they do, I just had to!We had a handful of issues in the house we just bought, from a low pressure shower, to a “Frankenstein” washtub in the basement, to corroded pipes and stuck valves, and they took care of everything, and even a few other things, like swapping a backward hot/cold, to upgrading our shower head on the fly (they even went to pick up the new head over their lunch break).No exaggeration, they were so thorough and amazing I seriously teared up from RELIEF.Best of all, they came in at almost $2,000 less than Dean’s plumbers for the same job.I cannot recommend these guys more! I’ll be singing their name in our new shower 😂

Saw the company on Nextdoor in rated highly. Called them on the Friday of Labor Day weekend. They had a cancellation and were able to come over by noon. My tech was a gentleman named Cesar. He was excellent low-key, very informative, explain to me what he was doing Reviewed the pricing which had already been explained when I made the appointment. He found the blockage and cleared it and gave me some helpful tips going forward regarding my disposal and other ways to maintain a clean sink drain. It was a very professional and satisfying visit.

We have used them on multiple occasions to take care of a mainline issue and an individual clogged drain. The second time, I had 5 technicians out for estimates as the first two I received were much higher than expected. The closest another company got to Ron the sewer rat was $115 over, plus their technician went above and beyond clearing out another section of the pipe after clearing the drain just to be sure everything was running smoothly. Always the best price and they are very straightforward with those prices, I would highly recommend.

Great timing! I had asked for an afternoon visit, but they were able to come out early. They made sure to close the basement door as I asked. (I have a blind dog who could fall.) After looking downstairs, I was informed what needed to be done, as well as the price. I was kept informed as they went along, telling me of any changes or additional work. It cost more than Id have thought it would, but prices in everything has gone up, so maybe high is the new normal.The minus was that I was unable to go down the steps. The original reason I called them out was to check the main line. He refused to do that, dismissing it. He took some pictures of the piping below one bathroom and said his snake kept turning around, going into the sink pipe instead of going down. All I could see was the external part of the piping. No.way to verify it. He proceeded to cut the piping apart to clean it, then put it back together. He said. He discovered another problem, unverified, and told me there was a pinhole in the drain beneath my sink. Funny, I hadnt seen any water below. After replacing it, he didnt show me the piping piece he removed. Lights downstairs were left on wherever they were.. I have problems on steps, so theyll be off later when I can get reliable help.Bottom line, dont trust them! The job I need done was declined and the other job was exaggerated with only his word it even existed.

We called them after having a horrible experience with another plumbing company that had poorly installed our water heater (sold us too large of a water heater so it didn’t fit out space) while simultaneously making our water softener inoperable, damaging my home, and left a mess behind. This other company charged us $3,400 and ultimately refunded us for their poor work. I called Ron the Sewer Rat on Tuesday and they came out of Thursday (they offered to come out the next day but we weren’t able to accommodate them!). The whole experience, from scheduling to installation was seamless! The plumber who came out was efficient, considerate of our home, was incredibly cleanly, demonstrated integrity in his work, was honest, and did the work that it took 5 plumbers/technicians (from the previous installation) I’m the same amount of time. On top of it all, our water heater installation looked so much better and cost $1,300 less than the previous plumbing company. I would strongly urge anyone with a plumbing need to use Ron the Sewer Rat!

Great experience. Kitchen sink/basement laundry tub clogged on a Friday night. When my efforts failed I called another prominent local plumbing company on Saturday morning. Because it wasn’t a mainline clog they wouldn’t come out on weekend and, in fact, couldn’t get someone out until Tuesday. Ron the Sewer Rat had Sat/Sun hours listed, so I gave them a call. Tim showed up a couple hours later and had the problem fixed inside of an hour. Then he spent some time discussing possible causes and solutions for the problem. Yes, we had to pay $150 extra for the weekend service, but since we had guests it was well worth it. We would’ve spent more on restaurant meals in the two days we couldn’t use the kitchen. We were living in state of panic and stress, when dirty water was filling our sinks in the kitchen and pouring over our counter tops onto our wood floor. I appreciate the appointment confirmations via email and text and the 30-minute heads-up call before a technician arrives. I also appreciate that pricing is right on the website. Today, Jordan came to our home to clear a clogged drain. When he found there was significant dripping behind the shower/tub access panel, he calmly addressed the issue and advised us on how to dry the area and what to look out for moving forward.

My $800 screw driver.We tried hooking up a new laundry tub in the basement over the weekend and the drain was backed up.Yesterday Ron the SewerRat came out and after 2 hours and $580, he couldn’t get it flowing. (He did clean the mainline to the street while he was here).Today they sent out another plumber with a gnarly machine. He was my last hope.The thought of busting through 4 inches of concrete to find a broken pipe was eating me up inside.Then he showed me this.He said a couple more minutes and he would have recommended the jackhammer.I’ve never seen this screwdriver before. All of mine are pinkThat said, I want to leave a great recommendation for this company. They probably saved me thousands.

I had an awkward first experience with Ron the Sewer Rat, but Im impressed at the organizations commitment to making it right. When they replaced a pipe on my 2nd floor there was a spill that caused an ugly stain on my ceiling. It took a while to get my feedback to management, but once we were connected they went above and beyond to make it right: they came back to confirm there werent any leaks and that the water damage was only cosmetic, so they connected me with a local painter (Matt, the Painter Guy) who did a great job covering the stain and blending to the original color. Ron the Sewer Rat even covered the entire cost of the painter.I definitely recommend their services, Im very pleased with how everything turned out.

We ordered both interior and exterior main sewer lines of our 45-year-old house to be inspected and cleaned. The technician Tim competently performed these services while at the same time keeping us informed with video footage and diagnosis. We were fortunate that our pipes did not need repair but did require some cleaning. (Occlusion due to mineral deposits was about 25% in some places.). Tim cleaned these and showed us the final result. All the while Tim educated us on sewage lines and their business. We couldn‘t be happier with the service.

A number that anyone one who owns (or is considering owning) and old St. Paul home should save in their phone!From phone scheduling to invoicing, a great a experience.Years ago, I had previously used Ron The Sewer Rat as part of a pre-purchase home inspection, and was happy to see that they also did plumbing.When one of the 70yr old pipes and fittings that Ive know where on borrowed time for awhile finally failed and left me with no water(shame on me for waiting, but you know how life goes sometimes..), RTSR was the fastest to pick-up the phone and get me help the same day (actually within just a couple hours).The scheduler was great, and she was even able to give me an estimated price range before even dispacting a plumber.This is something that most other companies dont do, (they want to charge you between $70-$300 just to show-up and give you an estimate). I know from experience that the price that the RTSR scheduler quoted was very reasonable.The plumber (Matt E.) who arrived (on the early end of the window that scheduling provided) called me when he was leaving his previous job (30min away) and was then on time and both very personable and professional when he arrived. He did a great job of explaining exactly what his work plan was, updating me on the price estimate as he went, and fixing a pretty tricky problem in less time than it would have taken me to even figure out my parts list and go to the hardware store. He also had some expertise and experience with similar homes/pipes and took extra care to turn the water back on slowly as to not clog any of the other lines with losend debris.While a plumbing emergency is never a fun experience, the people at RTSE made it about as brief and affordable as possible without introduction any additional pain into the process. We had a wonderful gentleman named Ken fix a leaking toilet supply line and install a new water heater. We’ll never use another plumbing company!
