Our home was struck by lightning last night, very scary. We are all fine, no fire, but house sustained significant damage with electricity and fried electronics.Called them, as a new customer at 8 am, based on awesome Google reviews. Arrived at my home with 2 electricians at 9 am and worked until 4 pm. Amazing care, professionalism and concern for my familys safety. They checked every piece of equipment, every outlet, took the panel apart to check for damage, tested for load requirements, installed new whole home surge protector, new GFI switches where needed, replaced broken items and generally gave wonderful peace of mind. They earned a new customer for life! Give the owner, Dwane, a call!

I have a 100 plus year old home with very old wiring. I needed a ceiling fan replaced as well as some fixtures in my laundry room. The team at Lauterbach was very professional and patient with the impediments that come up with an older house. They did a fabulous job and would highly recommend them for any electrical repairs!

This is an odd house utilizing post-and-beam construction with roof panels and floor panels; not many open spaces in which to run wiring. Previous owners had done some creative wiring and left some mystery circuits. Weve been planning an extensive kitchen remodel that required removing an interior wall to expand into the new kitchen space. Lauterbach had previously done work for us tracing wires in the ceiling of the old kitchen space so that we could install new skylights and we knew they were the ones for the rest of this job.Ken and his helpers were on site for more than a dozen days over the months it took for us to complete our remodel. They understood the mission and worked with us to troubleshoot the problems with the existing wiring, solved some mysteries, and suggested ways to accomplish our goals with the new work. They strove to accommodate us, sometimes on short notice as when another contractor finished up his portion and we needed the electricians back for the next steps so that we could maintain our momentum, and they arranged for the inspections.They were respectful of the property and of our vision, and they were a pleasure to deal with. We could not have done this job without them.

The Lauterbach folks did a great job installing our new front house lights. Our older lights were smaller and pulling away from the siding. We texted pics and measurements back and forth and they got the perfect hardware to hang the new fixtures. Came out fantastic. I also had them move a 220v outlet for a newly delivered electric stove - and that was done in 10 minutes. Well use Lauterbach many more times!

Lauterbach has gone above and beyond to get someone out to our Properties for repairs, almost always the same day we call or at the very latest the following day, and for a Commercial Property Leasing company, this is a valuable trait for our vendors to have. They are friendly, professional, and will to work with you on any issues you may have. I would recommend Lauterbach to anyone needing electrical repairs...excellent company!

We called several electricians in the Richmond area based off of referrals and reviews from others. Lauterbach was one of two companies that showed up on time and on the day they said theyd come by to check out the projects for a quote. We needed someone to check out a faulty attic fan, remove a couple of ill-placed recessed lights, rewire and install a ceiling fan, and install a grounded outside outlet in our backyard.Dwane was extremely professional and helpful even before he ever knew we were going to select his company for the project. He squirreled up into our attic and checked out an attic fan that we didnt know much about. A previous electrician (without going into the attic) said that it sounded like we had a gable fan and ran a quote based off that assumption that was twice the price of what Lauterbach quoted. Dwane got into the attic himself and confirmed the type of fan it was, if it was currently wired, and if it was completely broken as we had suspected. He even disconnected the fan prior to leaving and told us to contact a roofer to have it removed - so that we could tell roofers definitively that it could be removed safely.Dwayne got us a quote for the project within 24 hours, and we set up a day to have the work done within that same week. Barry and Kenny came by at 7:30 AM the day of the project - as they said they would! - and immediately got to work. They completed all of the project (except the attic fan since thats reliant on roofers currently) before lunch and were very kind and respectful of wearing a mask while inside the house (properly, no noses).The price aligned with the quote, and they carted the old recessed lights out as well so we didnt have to fuss over it.This entire project from first contact to completing the project was completed before the first electrician that came out for a quote had even returned HIS quote for consideration.We will 100% be using them for future work and referring them to all family and friends.

I recently had Lauterbach upgrade my homes electrical panel.They were excellent about promptly communicating all steps of the process and made the initial quote, permitting, installation, and inspection as hassle-free as possible. They were friendly and professional and I would highly recommend them.

Dwane was very helpful in pushing up our initially scheduled appointment after our bathroom light fixture died and caused the lone socket to malfunction. The electricians were able to come in the next day, replace the fixture, fix the bathroom socket, install our new flood light, and resolve some minor issues from our home inspection in under two hours. Were definitely going with Lauterbach from here on out. Thanks again.

We recently hired Lauterbach to help us lower very high EMF levels in our home (which we had just purchased). Trouble shooting the cause of high EMFs is such a specialized service that we were concerned we would never find a local electrician to help us. We knew that left uncorrected these high EMFs can have negative health impacts and we were not willing to take that risk with our small children at home. We were blown away by the electricians willingness to troubleshoot, research, and correct numerous wiring errors that were found in the house, that were even missed during our home inspection! Im sure it was like finding a needle in a haystack for them but they were always very professional and showed genuine interest in correcting the problems down to a level that we were comfortable with. They were also exceptionally helpful in communicating with Dominion Virginia Power on another major electrical issue at our home, ensuring that our home was safe. Lauterbach ultimately fixed problems with our electrical systems that many electricians were not willing to even have a conversation about. This allowed us to stay in our home and we are eternally grateful. My only regret is that Google reviews only allows me to give them five stars! I would highly recommend this company to anyone.

We use Lauterbach Electric at the company I work for and they have been very helpful in trouble shooting electrical problems, adding new circuits to our existing electrical system, and designing new systems for us. Their electricians are always courteous and professional. We will continue to use them in the future.

I needed an electrician to rewire a bathroom during a remodel of my 1920s home. We were looking to remove some existing knob and tube wiring and replace it with more modern wiring. Other electricians gave us quotes at several thousand dollars, insisting that my home was unsafe with any amount of knob and tube wiring. I found Dwanes number on my circuit breaker, leftover from when Lauterbach upgraded some of the wiring to Romex in the early 1980s; I decided to give them a call...and I am very glad I did.Dwane responded quickly and came out the next day (I called him over Memorial day weekend) to give me a quote. He answered all of my panicky questions about Knob & Tube wiring and reassured me that its a safe and accepted form of wiring if properly installed. Instead of trying to upsell me into rewiring my entire house, Dwane talked me out of my crisis. We would just rewire the bathroom. My house would not burn down.Dwanes guys came out within a week. They were courteous and professional and did excellent work.As luck would have it, my dryer began tripping a fuse every time I turned it on right as Dwane & his crew were planning to finish up the job at my house. I asked Dwane if hed mind looking into it while he was at the house, and he had it fixed within the day.I cant recommend Lauterbach enough. Eventually I will be updating the remaining old K&T wiring in my house. I will be calling Lauterbach for that job and any other electrical jobs in my house.

Ive worked with quite a few electrical contractors over the course of my career in construction, and I can wholeheartedly recommend Lauterbach over almost anyone. Ive found them to be competitively priced, honest, responsive, and most importantly they do great work. If you need an electrician you can place your trust in, who will show up when they say they will, and whose craftsmanship is top notch, call them. You will not be disappointed!

Although I generally dont review companies, I felt compelled to share my experience with Lauterbach Electric.My wife and I decided to completely remodel the kitchen of our 1956 home in Richmond. We also were determined to act as our own general contractor and manage the subcontractors ourselves. After locating the appropriate contractors, we began and worked through the design details with the appropriate subs. After the schedule was planned, the first electrician fell through, unable to make our revised scheduling. The plumber/carpenter we were using suggested Lauterbach Electric.I will say this wholeheartedly: I AM GLAD HE DID.After speaking with the president, Dwayne, on the phone, he showed up, thankfully, early for the initial appointment to assess the job.He not only assessed the work that he had to do, but brought clarity to what we wanted to do, suggested very positive and attractive additions and later provided us with a detailed proposal. This included no only the scope of work, but the fact sheets for all products that he suggested and would use for the job.When Kenny and partner arrived after the initial demo, I found them both intelligent and personable. They were completely communicative during the job and successfully worked around our elderly beagle dog. They showed up on time, when they said they would.They also took the job one step further and replaced all the old wiring in the walls, to ensure safety. This was beyond the scope of the job. These guys worked around the other subs without problems and communicated well with them directly as to when they were needed.We absolutely loved the results they produced.Even though my experience with electricians is limited, I would not use another company if I have the choice to use Lauterbach.
