Upon returning home from vacation we turned down the thermostat on our a/c unit. We soon discovered that on a really hot Saturday late afternoon our HVAC control board malfunctioned, burning up the fan motor with it. We were delighted and surprised that UGI Heating & Cooling came out that Saturday evening, assessed the situation, tried ways to temporarily get our a/c running again (but couldnt), and would place an order for the damaged parts Monday morning. At 8 am Monday we received a phone call that our parts had been found locally. They came out that morning and had the HVAC up and running before 12 Noon!We could not be happier with the service technicians or the service they provided. We are so glad we had a service contract, and highly recommend both the service plans offered and UGI Heating, Cooling & Plumbing!

We just had a new AC unit installed by Donald Readinger and Jonathan Ortez of UGI. Kudos to both of these technicians. They were knowledgeable and very engaging. They worked efficiently and took the time to answer all our questions. Before leaving they rechecked everything even though they had already checked it. Very impressed. Highly recommend.

My fan went out on my AC, which is shared with heater. HomeServe came to the condo and said that my heater was from 1999 and I needed a part, if they could not find one I would need a new heater. I got a call the next day, HomeServe said it was hard, but the were able to find a replacement part. They came out an hour later and repaired the heater. And, I Paid $0 dollars, the contract is well worth having. I trust HomeServe to do any work from now on. They are an honest and caring company.

Our air conditioning broke down on Friday night during a 7-day heat wave of 95+ temperatures. We went online, scheduled an appointment (easily!), and Juan arrived at 1:00 p.m. the following afternoon, as promised. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and professional! He replaced the faulty part in our heat pump, showed us photos of the faulty capacitor, and shared with us the amount we saved by being on the monthly service plan. Problem solved! Thank you, Juan, and Homeserve for such prompt and efficient service!

Update 05/31/2024: moving it up to 5 stars.My upstairs AC unit was not keeping up with the temperature in the hottest days. Called them and the technician came the next day, diagnosed the issued and walked me through the root cause analysis and corrective options. There was a leak in the gas line and indoor coil. He gave me the details of different options and sent the case to the office to quote. Customer service called me the next day with very detailed instructions and quote. Called again the next day to book the repair. A couple days later the technician came, did the repair stopping by once in a while to update me on the progress. Finished up everything, cleaned up and gave the full breakdown of the service and costs.Other companies had come before to see the unit and tried to push me to replace the whole system. UGI gave me the options, not pushy at all, and recommended the repair at this time. Of course, when time comes to replace the unit, I’m sure who I will call…Update 09/07: moving it up to 4 stars.Had a great service delivered this week when my AC failed. Called around 10am, technician was here around 1pm, went seeing the unit, fixed and issue (bad capacitor) in less than 10 minutes. I’m looking forward to move this up to 5 stars next time.Old review:First guy came, didn’t have the right part…Second guy came 3 days later, had the part but wasn’t able to install it, took the part to the shop…Second guy came again the next day and installed the part, now the house is smelling gas.I called to ask them to come back and check, they say next availability is in 3 days…Guys, there’s a risk I have a propane leak in my house and you ask me to wait 3 days…come on…

After making our choice of models and selecting the installation date, the UGI technician arrived promptly on the scheduled date and was personable and courteous. He worked quietly and efficiently and installed the new unit with virtually no disruption to our household schedule. In addition, he cleaned up beautifully after himself. Simply put, we were delighted with the entire process and couldn’t be more pleased with our experience with UGI.

The day after a maintance service call on our boiler, we discovered we had no hot water or heat. Although our appointment wasnt untill 4pm-8:30pm, Ray came in a cheerful mood . He asked us what was the problem and to show him our system (somewhat unusual from what I have heard from several service techs). He quickly determined what was the cause and proceeded to work on it (airlocked)! It took him a while to get rid of the air and he stayed to make sure that the whole system was air free. The owner should be thanking him on how well he represents them and he didnt even know i had a problem with them and i completely forgot till afterwards. My husband and I have carried the annual service contract on our gas heater, water heater, and air conditioner for years. We were recently reminded how valuable our UGI contract was when our heater fan motor malfunctioned during the first cold snap of the fall.We were impressed with the fast, courteous, professional service we received. The service technician was here about an hour and a half and was able to fix the problem. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND UGI and their service contract.

Very satisfied with the service person that fixed our shutoff valves under our sink. We only thought there was one that was bad but he found two others. Great service. 2/201901/08/2020We moved from the Reading area to Ephrata and had furnace problems. I didnt renew my maintenance contract since I was really busy and wasnt sure if they supported propane furnace in a manufactured home. They did and when I called this morning the tech arrived at 11am. He diagnosed the problem within 30 minutes and got us running. We had used a local company and they took five days and never resolved the issue. The furnace is 16 years old and needs to be replaced, which I will only trust UGI to take care of. I also made sure my maintenance plan was paid for the year.We had UGI natural gas in our old home for 19 years and had the maintenance plan for six years. Well worth the cost for complete piece of mind.Sales rep gave us a price for a new furnace on 1/6/2020 and they installed it today 1/8/2020. You cant ask for better service than that. Unfortunately we found that the condenser-coil is bad and since the a/c is just as old, they will come back in late March to replace them. Not what we wanted to hear but at least we know what we are in for.

I needed a new gas furnace and I had a few of the area companies come in with a bid. UGI won the job with a more thoughtful and detailed estimate with better value for the job required. It started with Comfort Consultant Benjamin Valdez and his assessment of my needs. He was very professional and courteous but more importantly forthright with faults in my HVAC system. I did my homework and all the things he noted as issues were indeed real problems that would have a big impact on a new furnace. The other companies never mentioned these issues. His estimate was longer and he explained things to me while also listening to my needs. He also did a load calculation for the estimate in front of me while other contractors did not seemingly care to do this for my estimate. UGI are lucky to have him on their team. The install went very smoothly and Benjamin sent out extra work crews to get the job done during a busy Thanksgiving period. The tech guys were respectful and listened to all my questions and did a professional job. I recommend UGI for all your HVAC needs and I will use them again for a new AC in the summer. I am very happy with UGI.

Excellent customer service!!! We noticed our hot water heater leaking on Saturday morning. I called UGI at the local Reading phone number at 10:00 am. They had someone at our house within 15 minutes! The technician came to see what was going on and confirmed that we did need a new heater. He called in and scheduled a Comfort Consultant to come to our house and give us an estimate. The consultant arrived within 30 minutes! He told us what all we would need and we agreed with everything. He called in and got another technician to bring out the new hot water heater, which arrived within an hour! So from the time we called at 10:00 am, we had all the work completed and a new hot water heater up and running by 2:30 pm! Everyone was very friendly, quick and professional and we highly recommend this UGI location!As a side note, I did call the 877-UGI-HVAC first and the gentleman I spoke to was absolutely no help and was rude. So I looked online and found the local Reading number and called them, which Im so glad I did otherwise we still would be with no hot water and possibly a flooded basement.Kim C.Reading, PA

UGI Heating, Cooling and Plumbing installed our new water heater and we could not be happier! The entire experience from start to finish was flawless. When I called UGI to let them know our water heater was rusted out and leaking all over the floor of the basement, they had an estimator out there just a few hours later. The scheduled the install around Our schedule and it was done in less than a day! The installer knew what he was doing and was very friendly and personal. He even installed a new venting pipe and make it closer to the wall so its not in the way of our heads anymore! He really want above and beyond the level of service we expected. He took away the old water heater so we didnt have to deal with disposing of that and he left no mess! Very pleased.

We had a problem with the second floor of the house not being cooled by the air conditioner. So we called UGI and the service tech was scheduled for the next day. He was on time and asked how the system had been operating, and other info for his diagnosis to be made. He checked schematics and found some of the on off switches were probably not the best combination and made that fix, plus some other adjustments and the problem was fixed, and has been running well since then.

I had a gas hot water heater that did not fire on restart. Had a service contract. Got prompt service and a very professional tech that found the problem quickly and we were back in service. Many years ago had a serious heater problem and they really botched the job. 12 days without heat in the middle of winter all due to an internal squabble between some bosses. Went a away from them for many years. Seems like they are back on track and customer oriented. Will continue to use them.

Phenomenal customer service from the repair call center through every technician that’s been here over the last 16 years since we built our home. I invest in a maintenance program with UGI and get service call priority and coverage for most repairs as my system ages. More importantly, the technicians finish their work and then take as much time as needed to explain every to me. I can trust their recommendations and repairs which is key for me. All the technicians have been very professional, knowledgeable and timely. Frankly, I wouldn’t go anywhere else.
