    After reading numerous stories about conversion to heat pumps we were still nervous about the idea. At first, we just thought about replacing AC but CU explained that a heat pump made much more sense, both financially and practically. Helping environment a little didn’t hurt either. Staff was great, from installers to office support. All our dumb questions were answered. One small suggestion for CU. We were charged $175 (roughly) for initial assessment that AC was shot. It took 5 minutes to hear this and get charged that much. CU should apply that amount to final bill. Just a friendly suggestion. Otherwise, all good.

    Great job!! Sean and Izzy were up in the attic most of the day. It was 93° outside, I cant imagine what it was like up in the attic. Halfway through the day they were joined by two other co-workers and the manager Mike. They all took turns up in the attic. Great teamwork! They finished the job in one day and cleaned everything up. Im 100% satisfied and would recommend Cooling Unlimited to everybody.

    I had accidentally nicked a copper pipe that goes to the outdoor unit while pruning a bush. All the freon in the system had escaped. Brad from Cooling Unlimited came and fixed the pipe and refilled the refrigerant. Everything is working well now. The price was reasonable. Brad was very professional and the work was done in an hour. Thank you!

    Al was our installer and he did a tremendous job, treating our house as if it was his own. He was courteous and kept the place clean and clearly took care in his work. However, there has been very little help from the company when it comes to completing the municipality rebate process. I was told that they would complete substantively all of it but in actuality that has not been the case.

    Overall, a great experience - I highly recommend them. I got several quotes and this was not the cheapest one, but I decided to go with them because A. they were most responsive (email, text or phone call, they respond to all), B. they were flexible and agreed to sub-contract my preferred carpenter for the construction pieces, C. the equipment they offered me was better (more efficient) than the competitor, D. they offered information and help with MassSave high-efficiency 0% heat loan and related MassSave rebates.The job was replacing my broken heat system, including backup heat / air handler (inconveniently in my bathroom ceiling) and heat pump / condenser (inconveniently on the roof of my condo complex). The machine is a Bryant Evolution® Variable-Speed Heat PumpModel 288BNV (which is 18 SEER/12.5 EER cooling efficiency and 11 HSPF) and the air handler is 5-speed variable. The new thermostat is the companion Evolution® Connex™ Control.It took a few weeks to get contracts (including sub-contract), MassSave heat loan sorted and schedule the job, but once is started, the heat replacement itself took only 2 full days, including removal of old equipment, crane to reach the roof and electrical. The heat removal / replacement was exactly per the provided schedule. I think there were at least 6 guys working on the heat equipment at various times. The ceiling construction (4 other guys at various times) took a bit longer than I initially expected (1 day demolition of bathroom, as expected, but 3+ days of ceiling reconstruction, which included metal frame, drywall, plaster, paint and 2 installed metal hatches), but that was my preferred subcontractor and he did a fantastic job.All the people who came to my house were professional and knowledgeable. The preparation and cleanup was a little inconsistent depending on which guy was there; sometimes it was 30 minutes of prep with paper / plastic on all floor (including through the doorway) and cleaning so thorough that it was cleaner than I usually keep it; other times it was a cloth tarp quickly set down with a quick wipedown and sweep at the end (not as clean as I usually keep it), but I appreciate that everyone made an effort to clean the job site at the end of each day.I havent had the new, efficient system long enough to see an appreciable change in my energy bills (this April was slightly less expensive than 2018 April bill, but hard to say if thats just inconsistent weather or the new system), but I can definitely FEEL the difference. I LOVE the new 5-speed fan system, which goes soft if just maintaining a temperature or harder if needing to change multiple degrees (which it can do much quicker than my old system). Also, its smart enough not to put the fan full blast while theres still cold air in the ducts (my old system used to blow cold air when it first turned on and had only one speed).During the project, they swiftly handled their part of the MassSave heat loan application, responded quickly to questions, and were able to deal with challenges (like the narrow height of my bathroom ceiling) and changes (e.g., an unrelated plumbing project in the building which had impact on my condensate drainage pipe). They also submitted both MassSave rebates on my behalf.Although I generally like to support smaller businesses, having a larger business for this project, with a dedicated sales person / project manager (Jason Shea) made this project a lot easier for me. Sometimes you get what you pay for, and I think in this case, choosing a more expensive service gave me a much better experience. Also, on a side note, this project involved people of various skin tones and accents; white guys, Brazilian immigrants, they all did a great job - thats what makes America great, a mix of talented, hard-working and diverse people.I would definitely use Cooling Unlimited again and would recommend to anyone in the area who needs heat replacement.

    We contracted with Cooling Unlimited for a new whole-home Mitsubishi Hyper heat pump. Technical and admin staff were always very responsive. The work was scheduled promptly and conducted on-time, in 1.5 days of the 2-day window we were given. The crew was courteous and professional, fully cleaned up and made sure we knew how to work everything. One minor issue with some electrical work by a subcontractor was addressed promptly upon reporting it. One piece of advice for anyone installing a heat pump through existing ductwork is to make sure any work on the ducts is assessed and included in the quote - we took the risk of incurring additional costs for that but in the end it worked out OK with only minor tweaks needed. It also took a few months and some follow-up to make sure rebate paperwork was processed and permits closed, but in the end everything worked out fine. The system has worked flawlessly over our first winter and we are very happy with it.

    Cooling Unlimited installed two heat pumps and integrated with existing duct-ed system and gas boiler (to be used as auxiliary heat). The installation manager was knowledgeable and the team did excellent work. They started work as scheduled and delivered a system that met the specifications of the work contract.     Really happy with my A/C installation. Dan spent a lot of time with me explaining my new system and the heat pump features. Everyone involved was very professional. I’d like to thank Mike for taking care of a few issues I had, always nice to see people stand behind their work. Glad I went with a traditional A/C system over a high velocity system. The Bosch air handler and condenser are super quiet. The registers spread the air across the ceiling so there is no cool/hot spots.

    When my husband and I first started our search for a company to install ducts to run central cooling and heating in our 100 year old home, we found it difficult to find information and reviews specifically about this type of work. From everything we were able to gather we found Cooling Unlimited and I can not recommend this company enough! Cooling Unlimited had great reviews and was on track price-wise with the market analysis we did. I can not say enough good things about this company, the entire team was always so courteous and respectful of my home. They really went above and beyond in their work. Mike was an awesome resource and had a wonderful team, I only wish I remembered everyones names so they could get credit for how great they were. Despite how difficult the job was in an older home full of brittle plaster, dated wiring, and plumbing, they took great care in making sure our home made it through with minimal disturbance and the systems work great. They were very responsive with any issues or kinks that needed to be worked out and provided quality service. If youre thinking about choosing this company I would definitely do it.

    Used Cooling Unlimited for my initial system installation 11 years ago. I have been using them ever since for my bi-annual maintenance servicing. If the technician is running behind the quoted timeframe, the office alerts me he’s on his way and when to expect him.     I have to be honest, I called this company because the first one I tried was all booked up- well, I’m so glad I did because these guys are AWESOME!!     Excellent service at a great price. Cooling Unlimited as one of three companies I considered for the ductless AC install at my home in Cambrige. I chose them based on price as well as the high degree of skill and thoroughness of their sales technician. The techs who performed the install were fantastic as well. They overcame a couple of tricky logistical issues and did great work.

    I cant speak any more highly highly than 10 stars for cooling unlimited. They installed our air conditioning system system from beginning to and eith all brand new equipment they did a perfect installation they clean up after themselves and they had the whole job done in 2 days most companies were taken a week to do it . They also installed a brand new high efficiency boiler the boiler for me because rs broke 6 days before the 10 year warranty ran out They got me a new boiler and it all the installation and all the upgrades to make it up to code and the heat has never worked Better. Yes yesterday my air conditioning went out at 5 PM I called cooling unlimited and they said that they would send a checkout for an emergency order and they werent sure what time that would be They were there 2 hours later we were lucky enough that they had the condenser in the truck to replace our broken one and our AC was back and running Immediately. They have a yearly contract where they can check your heat in the fall and in the spring to check the air conditioning I would recommend doing it its a way to know that your equipment is in good shape Or if something will need to be replaced down-the-line. I cant say thank you enough for yesterday and I cant say thank you enough for all the work that you have done for me over the last 8 years some reviews people put are full of it this ones real and these guys are that good. Give them a try they will come out they will give you a quote they also work with the Mass Save program so anybody who owns their own home and cant afford an upgrade to their heating or air conditioning system they have special loans with 0% interest through the Mass Save program check them out it will be well worth your time its the best decision Ive ever.

    In past years Cooling Unlimited got my air conditioning going more than once on hot days when it decided to stop working, and they were overwhelmed with calls. They always came out promptly. This past summer they came again, got the 20 plus year old system going temporarily, quoted a new heat pump system, installed it and did an amazing job.     I contacted Cooling Unlimited for maintenance on my five-zone ductless mini-split system. This company did the install for me in 2018 and this was my first maintenance appointment. I spoke with Megan who provided me the estimate and scheduled my appointment. She was able to squeeze in an appointment when I was home rather than having to take time off from work. Kevin was the technician who did the work. He was a nice guy who answered some questions I had. The work was done in about two hours. The job site was clean and Kevin wore a mask the whole time. I would recommend Cooling Unlimited for your HVAC needs.

    I have used Cooling Unlimited to maintain my HVAC since we arrived in Massachusetts six years ago. This fall they replaced the gas furnace with a gas furnace and air heat pump combination. The work was performed professionally and on time; they restored heat on the second day, even though the full installation took one more day. They hired all necessary contractors, including the electrician and plumber — obviously people with whom they had worked before and who knew what they were doing. They taught us how to use the system and explained the switchover from furnace to heat pump. When the original week they had scheduled conflicted with an unexpected death in my family, they rescheduled: very responsive and considerate. They cleaned up after themselves. When we noticed that the heat pump never stopped unless we called for only the furnace, they came out and located the problem immediately. They also helped with the paperwork for the state government rebate on installing the new equipment. I highly recommend this company for regular maintenance and for new equipment.

    Wow! So happy I called Cooling Unlimited. the technician who came to my house was amazing - talented, friendly, professional, and fast. Last week, I had called a different HVAC company for this same problem (central AC stopped working from an unidentified electrical problem), but the Sila technician couldnt figure out how to fix the problem, and then told me that it wasnt worth fixing and that I would need to buy a $16k replacement system. I called Cooling Unlimited for a second opinion, and Im so glad I did! Their technician came out and found the problem right away and fixed it on the first try for less than the price of a service call from the first company. So grateful. I highly recommend Cooling Unlimited and am going to call them the next time my system needs service.

They Called when they were near and not only promptly fixed the AC but also Brad(very good, sharp guy) found and connected the missing wire to two of my nest thermostats.     Cooling unlimited did an excellent job on my 2 new gas burners , converted from oil to gas , and new ac systems. The workers were very courteous , and clean. Jason Shea my sales person was very knowledgeable he put me to ease knowing how big this job was . He explained everything and helped me with the different Mass Save programs, from available rebates to taking advantage of free 7 year interest free finance programs offered.Before Cooling Unlimited I had approx 10 other quotes all with different systems and ways to do the system. I did not feel comfortable until I was referred to Jason and his company.Feel comfortable knowing you will be well taken care of and comfortable spending a lot of money, and getting the end result that you wanted.I highly recommend Jason Shea and Cooling Unlimited.

    I am very satisfied with Cooling Unlimiteds installation and service. I called Dan Carpenter after the steam/radiator system stopped working at the begging of winter. The pricing was good, details of the system and Mass Save rebates were clearly spelled out. Removal of steam radiators and system went smooth and new high efficiency system for heating and A/C was installed quickly. A very professional experience.

    I found Cooling Unlimited over 10 years ago when I was searching for an HVAC company to convert my heating system (from oil burner-radiators to gas burner-forced hot air) and my cooling system (from window AC to central AC). They did an amazing job. Initially I did not subscribe to a yearly maintenance plan...what a mistake. A few years later my heating system failed in the middle of the freezing winter. I contacted a different HVAC company located closer to my home but they were unable to order parts needed in a timely fashion. In desperation, I contacted Cooling Unlimited and informed them of my situation. They responded with a sense of urgency to help me. They had the parts on hand and they quickly repaired my heating system. I have since been subscribed to their maintenance plan (they perform onsite scheduled maintenance twice a year). I have experienced no issues with either systems since. The staff is always very professional and very friendly. I am so happy I made the right choice as my HVAC system provider!
