I go to Travers Plumbing & Heating because they say what they are going to do and then just do it.....professionally and with a smile. Over the last 3 years they have installed new outside hose faucets, a water line for a new lawn irrigation system and replaced the flex natural gas hose going to my deck. They also maintain my septic system. When you call them you get to talk to a person.

Our heating and air conditioning system stopped working and due to their advanced age we• decided to order new units. There has been a delay in receiving them. I just had a major surgery a week ago and was concerned about not having AC this week as temps are expected to soar. My husband inquired as to when we could expect the new units. He was told they are still waiting. But, the company did not want to see me go through this heatwave without AC, so they took old parts from another unit and were able to get me AC the same day. We really appreciated the caring customer service! Steve (AC guru) and Chris are always professional and friendly, as are all staff weve dealt with at Travers! A little ingenuity and care will keep me cool this week, I cant thank them enough!

Travers Plumbing Heating & Plumbing has been to our house 3x in the past 9 months the- first to replace a failed septic pump, which had exploded all over the bathroom (since that bathroom is in the basement, we need a pump).Then to take out the toilet and pump (since that bathroom is in the basement, we need a pump) so that the flooring could be replaced. Then to reinstall the toilet and pump. Then the 3 year-old pump failed for some reason, and now we have to replace it, so we had to schedule another visit for them to replace the failed pump- which will be in Jan.Each time Travers Plumbing has provided excellent, prompt service- very responsive to calls and fair pricing. We really appreciate their services- their plumbers always provide good service (they also service our furnace) and are very courteous. We highly recommend them. They are also less expensive than area competitors.update 12/2023- then that same sanipump failed- so Travers Heating & Plumbing said that to save $, we could purchase a new pump ourselves and then ask them to install it. Thanks for being honest Travers Plumber! very helpful- they wont try to rip you off, they seem very fair.

Used Travers Plumbing for the first time to pump our septic tank. Best experience with a septic technician ever. He was on time, cordial, professional, and it was the first time in over 20 years that I had the septic pumped without a sales pitch on septic products! Me and my family use this company, but my dad is the one that deals with them mostly; he isnt technologically inclined, so Im transcribing this review for him. He says that he really likes Butch and would always want him to come service our septic tank; he also really enjoys the customer service received when he calls. The woman he speaks to on the phone is very polite and its effortless for him to get them to come down. Weve used Travers 2-3 times so far, after previously using a company for 10+ years and we only wish wed been referred to Travers sooner! We will definitely be long time customers. The prices are great and they do a much more thorough job than weve previously experienced.

Travers is a local Portsmouth business and has always been responsive to my plumbing needs and done a great job for a reasonable price. I have used them for inside bathroom plumbing problems as well as outside septic system maintenance. With regard to the latter, they have currently diagnosed a significant septic system issue and are undertaking a rehabilitation project which I fully expect will be handled with their usual degree of professionalism. I recommend them without any reservation.

We had Travers install a replacement overflow tank on our hot water heater last fall. The tank failed unexpectedly recently. I contacted Travers. They acknowledged the tank was still under warranty and promised to send a technician as soon as possible even though they did not have an open appointment for over two weeks. A week later they called and said they had an unexpected opening and they could send the technician right away. They did so. The technician was knowledgeable, courteous, and professional. The new tank is working perfectly. I received a bill from Travers in the mail today indicating no payment was due from me. It is nice to see a company stand by their work.

My wife returned home from Florida to keep appointments. When she arrived she informed me that the heating system was not responding to the thermostats. Luckily the outside temps were not very cold for January. I called Travers Plumbing & Heating to service the boiler, and they responded quite quickly. It took the better part of a week for Steve C. to chase down multiple parts that had to be replaced on a 30 year old boiler but he got it done just before really cold weather set in. My wife had nothing but good things to say about Steve and how courteous and professional he was. He saved me an expensive trip to RI, and he also relieved me of my concerns not only for my wifes lack of comfort in a cold house but also from a potentially damaging leak in our house. I have been doing business with Travers for years now. Their communication is excellent, Erica in the office always pick up the phone or calls you back the same day. Travers installed a central A/C unit in my house and when the system broke down came immediately to service it (in the busy Summer months). Initially, they did send a newer technician, but when the system failed again after a few weeks (either for the same or a new problem, I will never know) they sent their most seasoned A/C guy the same day and the problem was fixed for good. Erica fought hard with the manufacturer and got me a refund for the electronic board that was replaced.

My basement recently flooded after a storm and the team at Travers Plumbing was amazing. They showed up immediately, assessed the problem, and took great care of me. They couldnt have been more responsive. I needed a new furnace - they took care of it. My domestic water system was damaged - they fixed that. I needed to upgrade my sump pumps. That was taken care of too. Erika in the office was so great to deal with. Gary Travers (owner) took the time to call me and discuss the repairs with me. I had a great experience with Gary several years earlier which is why I came back. They care about their customers, are fair to deal with, and are nice people to boot. Id highly recommend them.

We recently bought a 50 year old home and had two important plumbing jobs where I called Travers. The first time was to replace a complete drain system under the kitchen sink and 3 water valves in the basement. They showed up on time, gave us great advice on doing the right amount of work, and did a very thorough job.The second time I called them to replace a pretty old water heater in our basement. They suggested coming to the house first for an evaluation. I had to get it repaired quickly and was concerned an evaluation would delay the job. Im glad I took their advice. They were able to quickly fix an air lock in the pipes and said we should get a few more years out of the heater. Other plumbers might have been happy to do a full replacement for 1000s of dollars.They charge fair prices and provide great advice and service. Travers will be our go-to plumbing company.

Everyone at Travers Plumbing has been incredibly helpful with a MAJOR home expansion and remodel I am working on. The office staff (Ashley and Erica) are overwhelmingly pleasant and friendly. Bottom line: they have been exceptionally responsive and reasonable in price. I will always call them first for my plumbing, septic and A/C service needs.

Travers Plumbing & Heating Inc. REVIEWI have been doing business with Travers P&H for the past 5 years. I cannot express enough how Dependable, Knowledgeable and above all HONEST they are. My most recent reach out and service from them involved a Saturday 11/12/16 call out to them for “No Heat” at my Newport, RI condo. They returned my call in less than 15 minutes after leaving a message. I informed the technician that the gas fired unit was turning on but no heat was being generated. He explained what the possible cause was and that it would be an easy fix if they had the part in stock. BUT – he also explained that the weather forecast for the next 2 days was good and that there was no need to rack up the weekend (Saturday & Sunday) higher rates. Here comes the Trust & Honesty part – The unit is unoccupied and has electronic locks to allow access. Monday AM they arrived as promised, let themselves in, and effected the repair. The bill was mailed to my home in Massachusetts. The amount was certainly NOT what I had expected. The part they said was not the problem. They could have easily soaked me for that part, time and labor and I never would have known. They replaced my defective thermostat which was the problem. I own a home with a gas boiler that was not generating heat. I initially contacted the firm where I have a service contract. The technician came out and advised that he had to condemn my unit. Needless to say, I was shocked as the unit was not old. They recommended replacing the unit and provided an estimate. Rather than panic, I contacted Travers to get an additional estimate. Gary came out, took a look at my system. His diagnosis was that the unit was not bad. We scheduled a date for one of his technicians to come out and run tests. His technician arrived, another Gary to perform the diagnosis. The end result, I did not need a new system. I have heat. My cost was a less than 10% of the cost to replace the system.I am switching my ongoing service to Travers and I highly recommend them.

Over the summer my tankless hot water heater died. It was very old but Travers was able to keep it limping along much longer than we thought possible. When it did finally stop working we got quotes from 4 different HVAC companies. Travers estimate was about 200.00 over the least expensive quote, but we went with them because they were local and had always been very good to us, we use them for heating oil, maintenance of the old furnace & septic services. The removal of the old tankless water heater & installation of the new one took one day. The guys doing the work were respectful & professional. Garry Travers is a stand up guy. Help was available encouragingly soon after call for lack of hot water, problem was solved, and following for new problem happened without extra charge.Last week, May 31, 2023, the exchanger of my high efficiency furnace was cleaned. Two days later, I turned on my shower and lathered my hair while waiting for the water to warm up enough to step in. Unfortunately, the water did not warm up. The morning after, I called the plumber proved to be a champion by making a speedy come-back to my satisfaction.

The drain from the house to the septic system was plugged, yet again. Too far out for a homeowner to snake. They came and cleared the line. About the .. yet again. The drain has plugged like clockwork every two years for the last six years. :-( For 10 years before that, no a problem. The owner came out a few days later and explained what he thought was the real problem -- the drain needs to be jetted so that the PVC is clean as a whistle. It made perfect sense to me.
