    The women and men of Pettigrew Plumbing are absolutely the best. Karen, Trevor Stanley, and Connor were the three people that I dealt with because I needed a water leak fixed in the kitchen at my house.They were all great and the work was great. Trevor is great and does great work. I highly recommend Pettigrew Plumbing for all your plumbing and heating needs.

    Pettigrew replaced my dead water heater with an amazing tankless system, before and after pics here. They were incredibly patient with me, explained everything they were going to do, and did a beautiful job.- One tech talked to me for literally 20min to be sure I had all of my questions answered.- They scheduled me quick, I know they were busy but they cared that we had no hot water.- They had to cut out some natural gas pipe, do the hard math, and re-pipe with proper sizes, all while making it look very clean.- And hauled away the old unit.This is the first big project in my house I called a contractor for, and I’m in disbelief.     I can not say enough good things about this company. We have hired their building department manager, Alec, for many projects over the years. We have hired him to:-paint our basement, interior doors, and a bedroom-replace rotting beams-bending new metal trim around the windows outside-excavating our front lawn, installing a new patio walkway and rock wall-install lattice skirting around the deckWe also had Pettigrew install new outdoor water spigots. I absolutely recommend hiring Pettigrew.

    Awesome, knowledgeable, super responsive crew to work with! Highly recommended! We had a leak somewhere under the slab of our house which connected to an upstairs bathroom- they found a solution to reroute piping to the bathroom and close off the leak.     I am consistently amazed and deeply grateful for Pettigrew. If you need plumbing or HVAC assistance on the seacoast dont waste your time looking any further. I have an aging home that has needed two ceiling leak repairs, toilet and associated valve replacements, dishwater hookup/kitchen sink valve replacements, outdoor spigot replacements, and a new water softener system install. Pettigrew has exceeded my expectations every time. Everyone I have interacted with has been timely, kind, informative, attentive, and professional. I feel like I get great value for money for the work that they do. The front office is always quick to respond, schedule, and communicate. The technicians that have come to my house have always been patient, asked good questions, worked quickly, cleaned up after themselves, and done excellent work that lasts. Thank you Pettigrew!!!

    Exceptional service, quick response times, and reasonable pricing!Steve came out to replace our kitchen faucet and investigate water pressure issues on a private well system. He patiently walked me through the investigation and fielded my questions, he was extraordinarily courteous, and he did great work. Kitchen faucet works perfectly and we finally have our water pressure back!The scheduling process was fast, easy, and Pettigrew got us on the books within a few days. Cant praise them enough based on our experience.

    Woke up with no hot water, office staff was amazing and had tec out to my house in less then 3 hours (not a customer prior). Trevor was wonderful and figured out the issue within an hour. Parts were replaced and I was up and running again without feeling like i was over charged. This company has now earned a lifetime customer. Thank you very much!!

    My hot water heater developed a leak yesterday. I called Pettigrew at 4:30pm and by 11am this morning, I had a new unit installed. Trevor and Dante did the installation and I couldnt have requested a better team. They were both knowledgeable, professional and nice guys to boot. Job was efficiently completed and the site was left cleaner than what they arrived to. Thanks to Trevor and Dante, I now have hot water and a dry basement floor and Pettigrew now has a loyal customer.

    I had a leaking pipe and needed to address several plumbing issues. From the start, Pettigrew (Ben) was professional and provided a quick quote for the work I needed done. Scheduling was also easy, and Pettigrew took care of coordinating with Aquarion to turn the water off to the house. Pettigrew returned roughly 2 weeks after my quote to complete the plumbing work I wanted done and Stanley was professional, clean, and patient with my questions. I would highly recommend Pettigrew Plumbing and give Stanley a recommendation as well.

    Tony and Pettigrew are amazing! We found our water heater broken at 7am, called Pettigrew and they were able to find a tech and have Tony over within 45 mins. After a assessing the issue, he was able to give us a quote and start work right away. Another van delivered the new water heater and Tony had it all fixed within 3 hours. I cannot emphasize enough how professional and quickly Tony worked. He’s amazing. He answered all questions and made what usually is a nightmare of a situation into an easy process.     Awesome customer service! I found my water heater failed at 6pm when gallons of water covered my newly finished basement floors. I called and left a message with the 24hr call service.     We enjoyed working with Pettigrew plumbing. They were fair and honest on estimates/pricing. We were doing a full bathroom addition in the basement, requiring an ejector pump and all new plumbing. There was no future vent in our basement. The other companies we talked with created plans that sounded half put together. Ben, with Pettigrew was the only one who came up with a plan to tie the plumbing into our upstairs. He made the best plan that would result in the work being correct. We worked a lot with Steve and he was fantastic! He was always checking with me to make sure I was happy and that he was meeting expectations. I can’t say enough good things. Oh and I don’t want to forget Karen in the office. She was always very helpful and responsive with my questions. We will contact them again for any future needs.

    Connor was in a couple of times to do a shower repair in my apartment, and he couldnt have been better! Having repair work done usually makes me very anxious as being around strangers makes me nervous, but he was both respectful and very friendly. His demeanor put me at ease right away, and he put careful effort into making sure my shower was set up correctly with no leaks or quick-fix bandaid solutions. He told me what the problems were and how they would be fixed, what to look out for in future, and even how to customize my new shower fixture if I wanted to add a hose attachment or new shower head. As a tenant I dont always get the rundown, as Im not technically the client, but Connor was kind enough to include me in the process regardless. He was also sweet to my dogs, bonus! Id recommend him to anybody.

    We’ve always trusted Pettigrew for our plumbing, so we called them for our furnace that kept switching off during the night. Mack thoughtfully diagnosed the problem - a broken sensor. They ordered the part and sent Mack back to our house the same day the part arrived. Everything was back up and running for a great price. This is a reliable, straightforward company. Scheduling is easy, technicians are friendly and on time. They aren’t trying to upsell you on additional upgrades or service plans. Highly recommend!

    Just had a great experience working with Cole to install a 3/4 horsepower disposal unit in an under-the-sink space the size of a shoebox. He did a great job with such a challenge, explained things thoroughly, covered different options, gave pricing up front. Office communication throughout was timely, they sent text updates and even a picture of Cole so wed trust who was coming. Highly recommended!

    Steve G from Pettigrew was fantastic. He showed up on time, was very professional, and extremely knowledgeable. He helped us install the new faucets after new counters were installed. He also helped us troubleshoot a toilet and bathtub drip situation. He made some recommendations and we ultimately replaced the toilet. He was able to do all the work in a single day and single trip. Would highly recommend Steve and the Pettigrew crew and we will definitely be using them in the future!

    Called Pettigrew at 8:00 AM, the tech, Trevor, was at the house before 10:00 and done about an hour later diagnosing the toilet leak and replacing the water shutoff valve and line.     Pettigrew was fantastic. Thank you so much to Mike, Tony, Kyle, John, Karen, Eric, and Travis who all were part of the Pettigrew team who did a wonderful job on our rehab. We added a brand new bathroom and renovated and changed floor plan on an existing bathroom. Mike, Tony and Kyle did so much work for us with those! They showed up promptly, were responsive, with good communication, did excellent work, and cleaned up nicely. Always friendly too. Karen and Travis were a pleasure to work with over the phone. Eric moved some HVAC pipes for us, and was always cheerful with a can-do attitude. Eric also got that done for us in a very timely manner which helped a lot with timing one of the other parts of the job. John, I appreciate you getting that all done for us.     Mack at Pettigrew Plumbing & HVAC was excellent at diagnosing the problem with our furnace when we had no heat twice. He figured out the issues thoughtfully and quickly both times. He is professional, courteous and knowledgeable, and I would certainly use him again if needed. Also, I sincerely appreciate the answer to my phone call by Adam on an early, freezing cold Saturday morning, who promptly got Mack to call me and solve the issue with our furnace in no time.

    Due to extreme low temperatures and high winds we had a frozen heating line which was diagnosed by a technician from our oil delivery/furnace service company. He recommended that we call a plumber to locate the frozen pipe and repair it. We called Pettigrew on a Sunday around midday and left a message. Our call was returned within the hour and we were told that one of their service teams would be at our house within the hour. Mike and Kyle arrived as promised and after sizing up the situation confirmed the diagnosis of a frozen heating line which was likely to be in the ceiling of our living room. After determining a plan of action they shared with us how they planned to locate the frozen pipe and repair it with minimum damage to our ceiling. They proceeded to find the leak by removing of a portion of the ceiling and completed the repair and testing of the system to ensure that there were no further frozen areas and the heating zone was working properly. We were most impressed by Mike and Kyle positive and friendly attitude and their demonstrated professionalism. They respected our property and took care to minimize the damage their search for the break in the pipe would cause. They took care in cleaning up the debris and when they departed our heating system returned to normal operation with no evidence of their work other than the relatively small hole in our ceiling.     Mack came to perform winter maintenance on our furnace and replace the expansion tank for our water heater. He was professional, friendly and efficient. He took the time to explain the piping configuration and added a couple of shutoff valves to enable the water to be turned off at the water heater to save time for future maintenance.     I am so impressed with Pettigrew Plumbing! After the extreme -10 degree cold and wind here in Portsmouth, my kitchen sink water would not work. I emailed them, and they responded right away in a friendly manner and quickly scheduled me. The plumbers Trevor and James were very friendly and professional, and they diagnosed the problem easily, being very knowledgeable about different reasons as to why the water was not working. Also, the charges were very reasonable. I couldnt be happier, and I will definitely use them again, as well as refer them to my friends, for any plumbing and HVAC needs!

    Pettigrew is fantastic! Im so impressed. Theyre very responsive, friendly, and reasonably priced. I tried three other companies before finding Pettigrew and they were all booking emergency service several weeks out. I initially called on a Wednesday morning for an emergency indirect water tank replacement and they finished the job the next evening. I even missed their call (ahh!) when they showed up while I was out on a quick errand and they were able to come back later. I had some other failing parts on my heating system and they took care of those, too.     My hot water randomly went out one evening and I was concerned when I looked at it that I would be in for a pricey new hot water heater, I called Pettigrew and they sent someone right out to assess my situation. They sent Mac who was very professional and helpful, he checked the water heater and ran a diagnostic on my boiler to make sure they were properly working. He determined it was just an Igniter issue in my boiler and that everything else was fine. He called his co-worker Steve for a new igniter part and he showed right up within 20 minutes with the replacement part and Mac replaced it. He was very informative on my furnace and hot water heater letting me know what was causing my issue and addressed the issue and fixed it very quickly. My hot water is running great and I couldnt recommend a better company to call for your needs.

    Our hot water heater started to make an awful buzzing sound and we were completely out of hot water by the end of the day. Our regular plumber doesnt offer this repair service, so he referred us to Pettigrew. Within a minute, he was able to confirm they could not only help us, but come by same day. I called to make an appt and they were at our home within just a couple of hours! Trevor was wonderful all around. Super friendly, knowledgeable and took the time to clearly explain what he thought the issue was, what he would be doing to fix it, and options for moving forward if we decided to increase our hot water supply at some point (not because he was trying to sell us anything, this was something I inquired about!). Our problem was not only fixed immediately, but we already have an increase in our hot water supply just from having one part replaced! So helpful and love that we have another reliable plumbing & HVAC company to go to now for any future issues.

    I can’t recommend Pettigrew Plumbing enough. This was our second time using them and it was another great experience. Our water heater started leaking Friday night so I put in a request and I heard back on Monday. They sent a technician right away (literally 20 minutes later) once I explained we had to turn off the hot water to stop the leak. Ben looked at the issue and thoroughly explained our options. I really appreciated the time he took to go over each one! We decided it was time to replace our 13 year old hot water heater and it was done the next morning! They are professional, quick, and really friendly. They will definitely our go to company.

    As usual, my heating system shut down late Friday. I called my usual place and couldnt get service until Monday. So, I googled and came across Pettigrew Plumbing.     WOW! The absolute best experience! I was away for a weekend when -32 degree weather hit. I walked in on Sunday to hear the sound of rushing water from somewhere behind a kitchen wall. A quick peak in the basement showed 10 inches of water and rising.I called Pettigrew Plumbing and left a message with their service. Karen called me back in 5 Minutes... this is a SUNDAY.Karen let me know that Everyone is out on calls due to the extreme cold. Can certainly get me on the schedule ASAP, and do I need assistance getting the main water line turned off until they can get there. I was able to get the main off on my own and as I emerged from the basement my phone was ringing again. Less than 5 minutes from my last call with Karen she was calling to same that Ben was finishing a call and would be over as soon as he could.Ben called me almost as soon as Karen and I hung up and said he would be there in a few minutes.Ben and John arrived, asked a couple questions, removed one cupboard panel exposing the pipe and drain chase behind the kitchen wall, they immediately found the break in a pipe, repaired it, had the water back on and the job was done. I think that the time that they took to carefully remove the woodwork was the longest part of the Job!     I called Pettigrew Plumbing to replace an undermount porcelain bathroom sink that was cracked . Ben suggested it would be easier if I picked up the new sink and he set me up with Ferguson Plumbing Supply. I purchased the new sink and notified Ben. They were out the next day to install. Unfortunately the existing sink was sealed to the granite top with epoxy in lieu of caulk. Tex was not comfortable trying to remove it without damaging the granite. He suggested I contact a counter top company to remove the existing sink. Good call on his part, removing the sink was no easy task. After removal I contacted Ben and he returned the next day to install the sink. Work was done professionally and the price was reasonable. After 40 years in the construction busy I am happy to highly recommend Pettigrew Plumbing.

    I own a small business in Portsmouth and recent bought a commercial property in Kittery. I hired Pettigrew Plumbing and & HVAC to do a complete install of my heating and air conditioning, as well as plumbing from the ground up. These guys are top of the line in all areas. From the receptionist to the guys in the field.Tyler and Jordan were the technicians that were there each day and assigned to the Heating and Air Conditioning portion of my project. These young men were exceptional people. They were polite and spent time explaining things to me so I understood what was going on. I never felt stupid for asking questions, or rushed by their answers. I was able to communicate with them throughout the project on progress and next steps. One afternoon I showed up with supplies and materials for another piece of my project. Without asking, these guys stopped what they were doing and helped me unload my truck.     We had the bottom of our hot water tank give out along with all 40 gallons contained within. Unluckily, this happened in the very early hours of a Friday right before we were to have family from overseas visit for the first time. I made one frantic phone call to Pettigrew (who we have never used before) and explained the situation as best I could knowing the chances of getting someone over to help before family arrived to be practically zero.About 15 minutes later we received a phone call saying someone was on there way right now! It turns out Ben (the son in the family business) and Kareem took it upon themselves to leave their lunch and come see what they could do for us before their next appointment! In barely more than 2 hours they had the ruined tank completely replaced and without a word being said even tidied up the mess it had made.The entire time they were extremely friendly and frankly just happy to help us out. They explained what went wrong and let us know what sorts of things to look out for in the future to help make sure nothing like this happens again.     I cannot overstate the professionalism of Pettigrew Plumbings team. Its usually difficult to get a returned call from plumbers, but every text or email to Pettigrew Plumbing was promptly answered --what a welcome change from most plumbers Ive dealt with in the past. We exchanged several emails, because the job was particular challenging--they had to install a toilet pump in a very confined area in my basement.The work and workmanship was excellent!     I am so thankful for the amazing service I received from Karen and Tex. Having a busted pipe in our floor isnt something that can wait a few days, so to say I was freaking out is an understatement. I know everyone is super busy, lots of people out due to Covid, and I wasnt sure Id get anyone to respond to my calls (with temperatures of MINUS ZERO coming up too!!). However Karen called me right back, explained that itd be hard but she would try to get someone out today. And she did!     I called on a Friday afternoon at 4:30 because of a heavily leaking water heater. They were the 3rd call I made trying to find someone to help, and the first people to pick up the phone right away. The guy on the phone was patient to help me through figuring out what valves to turn off after texting him pictures of it. I also texted a picture of the type of water heater it was. Ben called me back within 5 minutes to let me know that they could be out the next day, Saturday and replace the failed water heater. The next day Tex showed up on time, was very friendly and professional and showed me what I needed to know. They didnt even charge me for a weekend/emergency visit. Seeing that all the water heaters in this condo building were 12 years old, which I guess is the life expectancy, another owner decided to do hers proactively, and I decided to do my other one. Tex came back out on Monday to replace 2 more. Every time I contacted him about timing and what not he responded right away. Once again so very impressed with immediate responsiveness, friendly and courteous and professional work. These guys will get my business in the future for sure, and I will recommend them to anyone that is looking for a plumber!

    I asked Pettigrew Plumbing for a quote to install a replacement kitchen sink and a new bathroom pedestal sink. At a time of year when most plumber/HVAC firms are backlogged and few are professional enough to even return a phone call, Pettigrew was quick to respond, professional and very fairly priced. I had a quote for my non-urgent job within a week and the work was completed a week later. Communications were excellent and timely and the professionalism and quality of work from technician Connar were both outstanding. He came to my house on a Saturday morning to assess the scenario and explained (thoroughly, but in a digestible way) what was wrong. He did not try to up-sell me; all his recommendations made sense based on my particular situation and the age of my home. What’s more, I felt he was looking out for my family’s safety. He and one of his employees were back the following Monday to complete the work.
