Mike, Jeremy and Scott were professional, efficient and empathetic to our needs. They coordinated with PGE to ensure that power would be restored as soon as possible.. Scott even followed up to make sure we actually had the power restored. This company has integrity and caring professionals and I highly recommend them and will use them for any future needs that arise.

I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Greenbox Mechanical. Connected through Angi but from the first email to the finish of the project, it was seamless. From the email from Mike the general manager setting up the initial estimate appointment to the appointment with Gonzalo for the estimate to the quick response in communication to hire them to scheduling before the end of the week was up, to showing up early (with notice) to the completion of the job: All flawless. I could not be happy with the experience. And the fact that they are a local company, Union and also provide plumbing and HVAC means that I will definitely keep them on my list when I need any of the services they provide. It was a pleasure to work with Green Box from the initial contact with Tim through the two service calls by Mike. It completely removed the stress from the situation for me. In early March, our friends at Green Box Mechanical came to the rescue when we discovered a broken copper water pipe in our garage wall. The pipe had frozen even though it had been winterized. Shae, an excellent plumber, came over to assess and offer solutions. He quoted a fair price and was open to my suggestion to relocate the outdoor water spigot. He then went to work and opened up the wall without making a mess!Shae did a fantastic job installing an anti-siphon frost proof hose bib and wrapping the remaining water pipe in the garage wall with foam insulation. He is a perfectionist and a real craftsman, and we appreciate his attention to detail very much. :) Thank you, Mr. Plumbing Genius!

They are not the the least expensive, but they do the best work of any plumber Ive ever hired. Ive used Green Box Mechanical for several years now for plumbing fixes, plumbing additions, a major extension of my Daikin home mini split system with an upgrade of the outside condenser and installation of three new wall units. Additionally, they added several new electrical circuits for my shop. Always prompt and professional and very capable. Im very particular about where specific electrical and refrigerant lines and plumbing piping are run. They respectfully listened to my requirements and worked with me and treated me as a knowledgeable customer. Recently, the fan and controller board for my upstairs bedrooms slim duct air handler failed, leaving me without heat and A/C for that zone. This air handler was the only legacy component that wasnt upgraded in 2020. It took a couple of visits for diagnosis and repair but now the whole system is working well and Im no longer running expensive portable heating or cooling units upstairs. Highly recommend these folks. You cant do better.

What I most appreciate about this company is that they have all the different trades under one roof so coordination is smooth and efficient. I’ve had a new heat pump installed, broken water pipe fixed and a couple of electrical issues addressed by these folks. I will continue using them and happy to support union jobs.

I first used Green Box to replace a small furnace last year. They did a great job with that, so I scheduled them this year for regular maintenance on our main furnace. They let me know that they could provide free 1st year maintenance on the new furnace at the same time, so they did both. Before Bill arrived I discovered that the main furnace was not working. He diagnosed the problem (mud wasp nest blocking the exhaust flue), cleared the blockage, and finished the maintenance while keeping me updated on his progress. Im very happy with his work!

Reuben came out to give us a free quote. We had four different issues he looked at and was able to give us a quote for all four as one job. There were two shut off valves to outside hose bibs that had started leaking, but rather than an expensive replacement job, he suggested we might want him to try something less expensive first. And it worked! Thank you so much Reuben!Our house is over thirty years old and while trying to replace the bathroom fixtures for an upgrade we ran into some issues with newer fixtures not fitting the existing plumbing. He was able fix those for us, too.We were extremely pleased with how quickly Green Box Mechanical responded to our initial inquiry via Angi and how quickly they came out to give a quote. When trying to schedule a time for them to actually do the work they were super fast, as well! The first was for installing under cabinet lighting in my kitchen, and the second was for electrical troubleshooting when my lights stopped working out of the blue. Both times I found that the technicians were professional, friendly and knowledgeable. The price is fair for the cost of the work. But the main reason I am grateful for this company is that they have faster availability that most of the companies that I consulted for the work. I called them on a Thursday, got a call back from scheduling on Friday, and the technician came out on Monday. I would absolutely use them again if needed.

He spoke to me after he completed his work, which included testing, explained several things about my furnace, and answered my questions. After calling several electricians that were on the list on the back of the electricians union $200 off coupon, I finally connected with someone Green Box Mechanical. The person on the line said I can have someone there within the hour!! They were also very upfront with the initial diagnostic costs (minus the coupon!) and the electrician even called to give me a more accurate ETA. He was also very helpful offering suggestions to possible the solutions of our problem, just in case it was just a breaker switched off situation. He arrived, quickly figured out the problem, fixed it and left. He was super nice and extremely professional. I highly recommend Green Box Mechanical and will be using them in the future.

I moved to a Estacada last year to become a sheep farmer. The house was a fixer for sure! Bill came and replaced my old heat pump with a much better one. Its more energy efficient with a reasonable cost. I never felt as if he was trying to sell me anything that wasnt a good fit. He stayed until the install was finished and even cleaned up after himself. Its been the most energy efficient heat pump Ive ever had. In addition, he allowed the kids to ask him millions of questions while he worked and he was very patient with them. They enjoyed his sense of humor. First and foremost, he’s a delightful person with an upbeat can-do attitude, but more over, from a professional standpoint, he listens, understood what was needed, and advised on solutions without attempting to dramatize the repairs to scare a homeowner. Throughout the process, he’s been informative, clear on next steps, has followed through in a timely manner, and managed the inspection process beautifully as well. Being I work on houses for a living, I meet contractors all week long. When it comes to electrical, Green Box is honest, real, and goal oriented. I am now looking forward to working with their plumbing and HVAC team too! We had new siding put on our house and needed some electrical work to go along with it. After several bids we chose Green Box for their reasonable pricing, good communication, and timeliness. We are very happy with the work they did. Unlike some electrical companies, they charge by the job, not the hour, but we never felt like they were rushing to complete the work on our house and get to the next job. When they needed to come back to fix something minor the city inspector wanted done, they scheduled a follow up with us and came and took care of it. If we need any electrical work done in the future I would definitely use them again.

I am a general contractor and need reliable subcontractors to complete projects in a timely manner. I like using Green Box Mechanical because they show up and complete the tasks on schedule and in line with their estimate. They don’t try to add fees after the fact. This is critical because I include their estimates in my proposal to the customer. I also appreciate that there are project managers that take ownership of the project to ensure that everything is done right. It also helps that they employ both electricians and plumbers so I only need to make one call or email to set up a job. The technicians wear uniforms and have well-marked vehicles, which makes the homeowners feel better about them coming in the house.

Yeah , my furnace stopped working so I called the HVAC number on the furnace. So the told me it would be 1500 to fix it furthermore they said my furnace was not worth putting a lot of money into and buying a replacement would be better. Anyway I chose Green box from Angie’s list for a second opinion. First thing the man said was he didn’t think I needed a new furnace because mine was only around ten years old, and said he would send a guy out to look at it. That being said Bill from Green box came out fix the problem with out needing any parts, unclogged a water line and used a fuse he found in the furnace. Bill and Green box saved me thousands!! Many Thanks to Bill and Green box🙂 Just so you know Green box only charged me 224 dollars !

I used Green Box Mechanicals plumbing services for the third time in three or four years. Different issues each time in this 1968 built house.All three experiences were very good. Today, the primary issue was a partially blocked cold water line in the lavatory sink in the master bath. Its just been getting worse and worse over about two or more years and I just finally got fed up with tolerating the problem and bit the bullet. Shae was on time and solved the problem in the cold water line to that sink really nicely. Old galvanized steel pipe which is prone to problems with internal corrosion at this pipe age. I was really concerned that this was the first indicator of the need for a complete house re piping,an expense I seriously needed to avoid if at all possible. Shae cleared the narrowing in the cold water feed pipe for that lavatory, and no attempt to do an up- sell for a re piping. Great job.Second item today was the downstairs lavatory, sink off the family room An issue that has been there since I bought this house years ago, and which has been sort of just eating at me. The lav faucet handles on this 2 handle faucet seem to rotate opposite the way they should. (The hot and cold are on the correct sides hot on left, cold on right, but the rotation seems to be backward) Shae took the faucet apart and checked the cartridges. After checking it out, it develops its the faucet design, the handles are on correctly and are rotating the way it was designed. It just feels odd and backwards, but I dont need right now the expense of replacing the faucet, I really want to fully rebuild that bathroom, gutting it down to the studs and going from there, but thats 3 - 5 years out.Final issue today was the shower in the guest bath. I changed out the escutcheon plate on the Moen single handle unit to get rid of an elipsoidal plate with no temperature markings on it and replaced it with a nice round Moen escutcheon plate with the red and blue temperature arrows on the right hand side of the escutcheon plate. I did most of that job myself last Saturday until I put the cartridge back together and even with the original instructions couldnt get the cartridge reinstalled correctly with three tries, and had the handle always landing upside down . Typical Harry Homeowner”flub. I should have taken pictures before I disassembled the cartridge . Shae had a good laugh at the fairly common homeowner error, and corrected my repeated screw up.Twice before I used Greenbox for plumbing issues. Once to install a new faucet in the kitchen sink (I was 75 the year I had that done, and I just dont do work under the kitchen sink with a basin wrench while lying upside down while staring up into the pitch blackness of the tiny space between the nuts on the faucet pipes jammed tight up against the underside of the sink. with a basin wrench anymore to remove old faucets. Im too old for that stuff these days. Getting down to floor level to crawl into the cabinet housing the sink is not any fun, crawling into the cabinet is even less fun and getting back up is beyond the pale.)The other time was a clogged drain line from the house out to the sewer, about a 40 or 50 run to the city sewer in the street That was a gawd awful job requiring the guys to come back twice with ever longer snakes to push the clog further and further through th drain pipe until they got the clog out to the Portland Sewer Bureau pipe out in the street. Really dedicated stick- to- it-ive-ness and going back and forth to their shop for both longer snakes and closed circuit tv camera stuff.I really like Greenbox plumbers.

Despite being booked out by 4-5 days, Greenbox electrician Jeremy dropped by Monday morning at 8am to diagnose and troubleshoot the problem. We are an elderly couple who deeply appreciate how fast Greenbox responded! Being without heat, range, fridge, etc. in winter isnt fun. The cause of the electrical failure is that the line from the street is severed. Jeremy called PGE for us. Greenbox does HVAC, plumbing, electrical and more. My first choice plumber (Craig Anderson) had retired and sold his business to Green Box Mechanical. I called them for an appointment to replace the floater in my toilet tank. Alex arrived at my house on time. After assessing the problem, he went to work immediately and explained the steps he was taking. Toward the end of the job, he noted that the water tank was loose--my house was built in the early 1950s--and told me he would rebuild it without additional charge. He replaced ALL the insides of the water tank--I noted that a previous plumber replaced just the flapper two years ago but not the floater; of course I did not call that particular plumbing company. I would definitely call them again--also learned they do other things besides plumbing. The person they sent, Alex, was the kind of professional I wish every service provided.

Amazing experience, I will be a customer for life. I have an older Trane high efficiency unit that stopped working. I had my usual shop come out and it was apparent to me the repair tech was stumped and instead of saying that, they told me I needed a new unit or control panel. Weve used them twice now, the first when we first bought our house to update our electrical to grounding outlets and again when our AC broke and we decided to removed the ducts and install ductless. Not only did the team, on both occasions, provide reasonable quotes, but they were very professional, on time, and explained everything to us in detail. While installing the ductless, one of the team members accidentally stepped on our plants in the garden. They could have just moved on and not say anything, but he made a point to apologize to us which was unexpected. Weve had other contractors come out recently to give quotes or do work and everyone of them stepped in our garden yet not one apologized. The Green Box team were kind, helpful, didnt talk down to me as a woman, and they kept to their budget (both time and money). Well be using them again for any future needs.

I had one other HVAC company come and take a look and told me that my unit needed to be replaced. The cost would be $5000 to replace the unit. The technician from Green Box looked at my system and determined their was a faulty part. The total cost for the service call and part was $350. Green Box was transparent and honest in repairing my AC. I would highly recommend them and use them again for my HVAC needs.

Green Box Mechanical just completed the replacement of our old 80% gas furnace and air conditioner with a new 97% gas furnace and heat pump. Now that we have experienced some hot days, there is no comparison with the old system. The new system just purrs like a kitten & keeps the set temperature. With the old, it would be 4 to 6 degrees warmer than what was set.They were very professional and courteous and left us with a very tidy installation. Cost wise, I thought they treated us very fairly and were competitive with the other 2 bids I had for a lesser systems. The new system is fantastic and very quiet. As an architect, I can be hard to please, but they did it! I would highly recommend them. They also helped us get a $500 rebate from EnergyTrust.

We had to do a complete re-pipe of our one level ranch home with a crawl space basement. Galvanized pipes were replaced throughout. Devin came and gave us a great estimate and we scheduled within a couple of weeks. The communication throughout the process was fantastic. We even asked for a couple small additions to the job which Devin said no problem and did them at no extra charge.The estimate was the final price! We learned Devin is a 4th generation plumber and he is very knowledgeable. The convenient thing about Green Box is they are one stop shop with the ability to handle all aspects of the job because they have electricians too so there is no sub contracting or hassle to get someone to come and do what the plumber cant during the job. Would highly recommend and will use them again
