My dining room light is no longer tied to the switch for the light headed upstairs to the bedrooms. Yahoo!! What a relief! And the outdoor electrical socket to the gazebo is now per code. Amen. I can highly recommend Daniel and his company, Portland Metro Electric. (Oh, and I’m located in Vancouver-😊)

I recently had the pleasure of working with Portland Metro Electric, and I was really impressed with their service. Danny, the electrician who handled my job, was professional, knowledgeable, and made the whole process easy.He arrived on time, explained everything clearly, and gave me an upfront price with no surprises. Danny was friendly, efficient, and made sure the job was done safely and up to code. He also took care to clean up after himself, which I really appreciated.I had a few electrical tasks done, including installing new outlets and upgrading my electrical panel. Danny did excellent work and even suggested energy-saving options that could help lower my future utility bills.Overall, I highly recommend Portland Metro Electric, and if you get Danny for your project, youre in great hands. Portland Metro Electric was incredibly professional. Theyve been to my home 4 or 5 times in the past year to address many electrical issues identified in a home inspection, and then most recently to install new light fixtures, one into a 20 foot high ceiling - which required scaffolding and considerable precision. Each appointment they arrived on time with a smile and can do attitude, going above and beyond. Definitely recommend them!

We contacted Portland Metro Electric to get an estimate for installing a generator. Daniel - owner/operator - came to our home and did a thorough evaluation. He provided recommendations we hadnt considered which were more cost effective and efficient for our needs. We had the company replace our old electrical panel and install a generator interlock. Daniel was highly communicative, on time, and meticulous about every aspect of the work. He also identified aspects of our electrical system that were not up to code and remedied those as well. The first two photos are of the old electrical panel; the third photo is the new panel, perfectly labels and including important safety features. Portland Metro Electric, from the first contact to finishing the work, was professional and thorough. We plan on using PME for future electrical work, and could not recommend them more highly.

We had some branches come down in our back yard resulting in our power cable to the garage resting on the patio roof. In addition the original power wrapped around our gutter making it dangerous (this is the last picture). Because of this we decided to bring our power up to code, and add a new meter and mast to the house, route the garage power around our patio with a trench across the yard to the garage. Daniel came out to discuss, he came a second time to double check our panel and ensure we would meet code, so we decided to do the upgrade. We moved the mast to the front corner of the house and went with a single meter (we had 2 meters; 1 on the house with a second on the garage). Daniel completed the initial mast, conduit, trenching, and cable pull in 1 and 1/2 days. Daniel coordinated the permit, scheduled Pacific Power, and the inspections. Once completed we passed the initial and final inspections, in fact the inspector commented on the high quality of the work! I recommend Daniel and Portland Metro Electric for any jobs you may have, large or small! He did our meter / mast updgrade then came back to install a ceiling fan in our living room where we had no ceiling fixture. Thanks!

I have been a homeowner for over 40 years and have dealt with many contractors for home repairs and maintenance. My experience with Daniel at Portland Metro Electric was one of the best I have had. I was having some electrical issues and decided to have the main panel replaced. After getting two estimates from companies that did heating, cooling and electrical that I thought were high, I decided to get an estimate from a smaller company that did only electrical. My thinking was that their overhead might be lower and therefore more favorable pricing.The panel that was being replaced was over a foot higher than code. Daniel’s estimate included time for splicing cables which the lowering might necessitate. As it turned out, this was not needed and Daniel adjusted his price accordingly. I doubt that many others would have done the same. I would have had no idea that such splicing was not necessary, and as his original estimate was significantly lower than the others, I would have been happy to have paid it. I was very impressed with Daniel’s honesty and professionalism. It goes without saying that I would highly recommend Portland Metro for any electrical work.

Ive been in the trades for 20 years and to have an electrician that shows up when he says hes going to, does what he says hes going to do, and then cleans up after himself is very rare and a treat to work with. In November 2024, we had an excellent experience with Daniel and his team for installing a full home generator. Daniel is a great communicator and listener, and always answered our questions clearly and kept us fully informed, including about the scope of the work and the drywall cuts that would be needed. A few weeks after the installation was complete, we had another contractor out for a different project, and the other contractor spontaneously remarked on the conduit installation in the garage that Daniels PME team had done and said it was one the best and cleanest hes seen. Many thanks to PME for the great communication and their attention to detail, we definitely intend to be using them again.

I had PME come out about a month ago to add a hardwired ceiling light to a guest room. We contacted at least 5 different electricians and it was frustrating that some never replied to our request for an estimate, while others told us our job was too small and not worth it. Im so glad we found PME--Daniel responded promptly and we were able to set up an appointment within a few weeks. He arrived on time and kept our house spotless while he diligently worked. Very professional and was also kind to our elderly dog who we kept safely corralled to a separate part of the house but who still wanted to say hi. We are considering buying an EV as our next car and when we are ready to add a charger to our garage, Daniel will get our business.

I would highly recommend Portland Metro Electric! Looking for an electrician can be daunting, but when I reached out to PME, Daniel was responsive, explained everything about the service we were needing (grounding), provided a good price, and was able to get us scheduled quickly. They came highly recommended by our plumber of choice who said the magic words - I have no other connection to this company except admiration for their work. 2.) Their communication was impeccable and ultra responsive and 3.) They did exactly what they said they would, when they said they would and at the price quoted. They relocated a poorly positioned panel and doubled the current coming into the house and threw in a new plug for the dishwasher gratis. The installation shines in our fun house of DIY projects gone wrong and is a thing of beauty. How many businesses get a 5 star rating with 140 reviews in Portland? Daniel and David deserve every star and wed never go anywhere else.

Sent him a picture of our garage and dimensions of what we were wanting to have done, he responded with a very reasonable quote.Showed up on time and actually changed up how he was going to do our electrical run for our 240v outlet, since we have an attic access in the garage. My home needed a full panel upgrade from an ancient Federal Pacific as well as some updates of prior tenants sketchy DIY work, new outlets, and a new bathroom fan installation.David provided clear and prompt communication and the work was completed literally weeks before any of the other companies I inquired with could even schedule us for a quote.Daniel, technician who completed the work, did an outstanding job. Portland Metro Electric and Daniel just did an outstanding and clean major electrical project for my wife and I.We received incredible service with excellent communication and thoughtful insight to help us achieve our goals in an efficient and cost-effective manner. Our experience working with Daniel was a great example of locally-owned business done exceptionally well.We recently purchased a 114 year old Craftsman home in need of a substantial electrical system update. We needed to replace an outdated and known problematic electrical panel, replace wiring and electrical work that was performed by a previous homeowner and not to code or safe in some areas, then we had him add recessed adjustable LED lighting in two rooms along with numerous outlets throughout the house and garage.While Danial was replacing and upgrading our panel we had him add a 50amp generator inlet so we can connect a backup generator to run the house in the event of power outages. The losses from a single power outage can easily exceed the cost of a simple inlet and generator, and our family can comfortably stay home even if the neighborhood loses power.We called for bids from five different electrical contractors and four submitted bids. Of those four, two estimates were emailed over as PDFs and appropriately broke down the project elements. All but one company had 4-star or better ratings on Google and Yelp.Portland Metro’s bid was in the middle of the pack price-wise and one of the two detailed estimates. What set them apart from other electrical contractors was Daniel’s interest level in the project, excellent communication and listening skills, ability to see my vision for the project and thoughtfully contribute cost-effective ideas and options for ways to achieve our goals along with clear and reasonable pricing.During the project Daniel demonstrated a strong work ethic, efficiency, the ability to come up with safe and cost-effective solutions to a few surprises, very clean installations that also look good, and he cleaned up after himself to look as if we didn’t have any work done. He’s also a very personable guy that was super easy to work with.I would absolutely work with him again on future updates to our home.

Dave does stellar and detail-oriented work. He is a trustworthy and masterful electrician. I cannot recommend him highly enough. The inspector came and said the work was some of the best hed ever seen- obviously the inspection passed.The job was fairly complex. It took place over four rooms and involved installing outlets, lights, installing a new panel, completely rewiring an entire space, etc. I was very pleasantly surprised at how little time it took Dave and his apprentice to do all of this work (which, as a longtime homeowner, I can tell you cuts down on cost). They were clean, efficient, and knowledgeable. There were a few things we thought needed to be done for which they had a far better solution.Dave knows that electrical code book inside-out and he and his business are very well organized. He is punctual and communicates well in a timely manner. We were pleased as punch and I will only ever use Portland Metro Electric for all of our future electrical work.

We called Portland Metro Electric to do a simple job for us (install a new light fixture in our walk-in closet). Dave was very professional and did the job in less than 30 minutes. Although his quoted price was for a minimum of 1 hour’s work, he only charged us for the time he actually was here, plus the cost of the light fixture. We are very happy with the quality of his work and his fairness in pricing. We won’t hesitate to call on Dave again for any electrical jobs in the future.

Dave with Portland Metro Electric did a really heat job with my kitchen remodel. I had a general idea of what I wanted done, but Daves knowledge of the Portland codes (and just good ides fir how to make a kitchen efficient) really tied the project together. He showed up when he said hed be there, worked hard throughout the day, and left the place cleaner than it was when he showed up. On a following lighting project he did for us, the only way I knew hed been there was lights and switches had been installed. Id recommend Dave to anyone looking for electric work in Portland.

After poking around, he discovered that he would not be able to complete the project as scheduled. Project: Add electric car charger and 2 new outlets to a garage, on either side.Had a pleasant back-and-forth convo on yelp before scheduling, got a quote for $1k and scheduled arrival for 7-8am.A little early to give a window, but Dave showed up with 15 minutes to spare. After looking at the garage and determining that two of the walls would be significantly complex to enter he advised exterior mounting for the electric car charger and the outlet on the far side of the garage. He asked me what kind of charger I was getting, and I foolishly thought Level 2 was a single standard that could answer his question. It isnt. He helped me understand what the different level 2 charger would mean, and the price difference between them. I opted for the larger 32amp charger, which would require a 40amp line.He further advised that a permit would be required, but that he would take care of it.Got a new quote for 1200-1400, given then larger amp line and wall restrictions, and an estimate of 4 hours.Dave finished in 4 hours with some beautiful work. The final invoice was $1300, including permits. Superb quote estimation.Overall he was friendly, professional and knowledgable. He even helped me diagnose an unrelated circuit issue I had caused installing a timer switch in the bathroom. I would highly recommend Portland Metro Electric for interior work.

Russ was able to diagnose a faulty GFI plug shutting off the power that was linked to it (those rooms). In the process, he also showed me (pictures!) inside one of the wall plugs for how bad the installation had been (wires connected, no caps, heat damage), made it better for what he could on the spot, and recommended checking out some future changes. While here, my wife had wanted a plug installed on her kitchen island for ages, and he had time to do that (crawling under the house, cutting out a cabinet and connecting). Not all heroes wear capes!3:30pm on Thursday after a historic ice storm, I discovered my dryer plug had melted to the outlet. I was in a bit of a panic. I called Portland metro, and after explaining my situation, David said he was on his way!He installed a new breaker, line, 4 gang box, and plug. This was in my open garage, while there was still lots of show and ice on the ground. It was like 25 degrees out. He also wired up my dryer for me after I said I would, then backed out.I should also add that he did not overcharge me. He texted his rates to me and finished in a timely manner. He didnt even charge an emergency fee.I could tell that David cares about helping people and enjoys what he does. The breaker switch dedicated for these rooms had tripped and had a worrisome amount of play in the switch and could not properly be clicked back on. Some brief searching online the following morning for an electrician left me calling Portland Metro Electric as they seemed to have good reviews and it appears they were indeed well deserved. I got a hold of Chris around 10 am and he promptly squeezed me into his schedule and arrived in less than two hours. He Diagnosed the problem and swapped in a couple new breakers into my box and all was well again in short order. Chris was knowledgable, expedient, professional, and the service he provided was conspicuously cheap and came in way under his initial guesstimate for the job. I highly recommend Portland Metro Electric for both their quality of service and value.

Had Dave come out for two jobs: running a dedicated circuit to a single outlet for a treadmill and moving over the junction box for a chandelier. Dave was right on time, thorough, and professional the whole way through. Also he was incredibly clean! I had never used the services of Portland Metro Electric before, but they were very well reviewed online, and they responded promptly and efficiently when I contacted them. The operations manager made an appointment within two days of my contact (my need was not an emergency). And I was extremely impressed by the technician Ilya who came to fix the problem. It turned out that the wall heater had a defective thermostat, which Ilya immediately identified and he fixed it within 15 minutes. He was extremely efficient and very personable. I will definitely use Portland Metro Electric for any future electrician needs!
