Terry showed up Monday about 11:00 a.m. and quickly determined that the problem was a clog at the outside trap. He cleared the trap and check the basement commode and floor drains. He cleared all 3 floor drains made sure everything was working. He finished it all in about 40 minutes. Terry did an excellent job, was friendly and courteous. Water backing up in the basement drain, time to call in a professional. I called Terry’s Plumbing at 7.15am not expecting a live person, ready to leave a message.The phone was answered by Terry who advised that once Allison gets into the office, they will call me back to make arrangements. I received a call at 8am as promised and was advised that someone can come help and would be there between 10-12.I received a call at 11.30 advising me that the plumber will be there soon. Five minutes later Terry showed up and started working straightway snaking the sewer line. He was able to pull roots out but the water was not draining all the way.Terry then advised we call the McCandless Sewer Authority to make sure the main line was not the problem. The MSA crew came very quickly and Terry was still here packing his tools up. The MSA advised the main sewer line was not the problem.We called Terry to advise him and he said the next step is to get his crew there to water jet the line to remove the blockage and roots from manhole side.Terry promised they would be there in the afternoon and we got a call again that they were 15 minutes away and got to work immediately using the camera and the water jet. After 1 hour of work they were finished and the sewer line was unblocked.By following the steps advised by Terry, we saved thousands of dollars that would be needed to dig and replace the sewer line. Later in the afternoon around 5pm Terry personally called us to make sure we were good and that everything was done. Now that is great Customer service.We have used the services of Terry’s plumbing for 20+ years. This plumbing outfit has great customer service, they keep you updated and charge a reasonable fee for their excellent services. When it comes to great service from friendly folks that care for their customer, you can’t go wrong with Terry’s Plumbing

We were having a graduation party for our daughter at our house and proactively called Terry up to make sure that we didn’t have any issues with our plumbing. He even said to call him if we have problems that day. But thank goodness we didn’t have any issues. I just recently received an inspection report on home, saying a sewer cam was performed as an additional service to buyers inspector stating pipe has cracks slipped joints . Of course I panicked sounds scary having zero knowledge.I contacted a relative sent video no one sees these issues . It was reviewed by a total of 4 people2 being plumbers 1 inspector not close to my area.. Not knowing any plumbers from area no referrals nothing .. ughI needed to contact a local plumber. Randomly I called Terry’s plumbing spoke with receptionist . Told her what was going on , she instructed me to email the video would have the plumber Call me when he got in.I was nervous all day I’ve heard so many horror stories of plumbers.ect.I didn’t know who to call. No one from area.at 3:40 PM. Terri called told him what was going on. He reviewed camera footage.Super friendly, honest informative,nice guy.No cracks ECT .I told him I was willing to have him come out,Take a look pay whatever he needed to do .He said he did not need to come out he has reviewed & would write it up.Happens frequently inspectors make comments to cover themselves.It’s then put on owner to find, ,payA licensed individual to THANKFULLY find out no ISSUES EXIST..Im extremely thankful greatful. for Terry’s honesty .asked how much I owed him?absolutely nothing told me to donate to a church or child. . I called Terrys plumbing when I realized my water heater was on the fritz. The person who set up my appt over the phone was wonderful and very thorough. She also kept in touch with me during the day as she wasn’t sure if they had time the same day or if it was going to have to be the next day.She set me up for early the next morning, and the two men who came to replace the water heater were knowledgeable and quick to install it. No mess either!After a week, I’ve had zero issues and the water heater is working perfectly!I’d absolutely recommend terry’s plumbing for any issues!

The person who answered my call was courteous and quickly scheduled a plumber for later in the day. She then called me later to give me a 40 minute advance notice that the plumber was on his way. Mike arrived on time and he quickly got to work. He took care of my problem, cleaned up the area, explained the issue and the solution and gave me advice on what I can do in the future to prevent the problem from re-occurring. I am extremely happy with the service that I received today!

We had our laundry room drain backing up into our newly finished basement. We called Terrys Plumbing on a sunday hoping we could get someone out to snake the drain. They had someone here within an hour from the time we called! They snaked our drain and pulled a ton of roots out of it aswell. Weve had several plumbing issues from leaky pipes, to floor drains backing up, and most recently needing to replace the water line from the street to our shut off. They definitely went the extra mile while working at our house. I will never call another plumber as long as Im in the area. Terrys customer service from the initial call until the job is complete is outstanding. Unlike other plumbers I have used in the past, Terry and his crew arrives on time, does great work, and gives you a fair and honest price. Youre not going to find a more skilled plumber or better pricing, just save yourself the time and call Terry!

I am doing a major upgrade of the plumbing on my 40 year old house. I called Terrys to get an estimate on the project. When the plumbers arrived they reviewed the project and confirmed the pricing. While doing the work they found a few other problems. They showed me what was wrong and gave me an estimate. I am very happy with the quality of the work and the items they install. I compared the pricing of the work for the project with another plumbing company, and I believe that I was treated very fairly and got a great value from Terrys plumbing. Overall I am very pleased with the project and would recommend Terry plumbing to anyone.

We recently had an issue where, after closing the cut off value to the exterior water faucet, the cut off value itself sprung a slow leak. I was able to fix it ... sort of, but the leak just got slower, it wouldnt stop. So we called Terrys Plumbing. The prices were a little high ($80 visit fee, plus whatever work is necessary) but the quality of the work and professionalism of the plumber was outstanding. We now have a new cut off value that works better and doesnt leak.Based on this experience we recommend Terrys Plumbing for leak repair. We also plan to call Terrys Plumbing for future plumbing jobs.

Rick from Terry’s did a great job installing a new pressure regulating valve and shutoff valve on our aging main waterline. They came out just a few days after my initial call, worked quickly and cleanly, and the final bill was $495 instead of the quoted $685 (more than a 30% savings)! We’ve used Terry’s for decades and have always been big fans of their work. Even Terry himself has come out to the house for jobs occasionally. Great family run company!!

I had an issue with 2 toilets. One seemed as though it might overflow. The other needed the tank mechanism replaced. The first plumber I called told me parts werent available and that 1 toilet would have to be replaced. He told me the other would be a major job that he couldnt schedule for weeks. So I told him to forget it and called Terrys. Terrys plumber fixed one toilet on the spot, and checked the other. He verified nothing was clogged and no additional service was necessary. Terrys also schedule me more quickly than the first guy.

Chris and Joe are particularly great, and the owner Terry is personable and down to earth. I have used several different plumbing companies in the North Hills and once I found Terrys I havent looked back. They are always prompt, professional, and know exactly what they are doing. They have straight-forward pricing, every technician has been friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to spend the time to answer all my questions. I cant say enough good things- finding a legitimately honest and well-priced plumber has been a huge challenge in the Pittsburgh area. Terrys has helped me with a basement sewage backup, a backyard rainwater drain issue, and gas leaks from a hot water heater. If I could give six stars I would, not to mention their receptionist is lovely and will connect you to a plumber before booking an appointment to make sure its an issue that needs a professional.

Terry talked me out of a service call!I booked Terry to come unclog my sewer the next day, but once I found one of the Big Names to come basically immediately, I called to cancel the appointment with Terry.A few days later, Terry called and left a message, urging me to call him to make sure I knew what I was getting into with that Big Name. After a short-but-not-too-short phone call, I was convinced that I should wait and see rather than immediately booking a humungous sewer replacement. Note that he didnt try to get me to use his company instead, but rather not to do anything unless it became obviously necessary!Terrys personality, humor, and candor won me over, and Ill be sure to use him next time I have a plumbing issue (which is hopefully never, but lets be real). Over the years Ive come to value those service people who tell you when NOT to pay them—anyone can make a mountain out of a molehill, but it takes special strength of character to show the customer no, look, its just a little molehill. Strong mojo, to make a loyal customer without ever charging a dime.

We needed a sewer trap repair and I sought Terrys Plumbing to provide a third opinion on what was needed further after the first didnt even locate the sewer pipe after digging and dismantling the wrong pipe and the second tried to pressure us into thousands more (we suspect an old video was used) for a lining citing there was a broken pipe with a large, infiltrating root. We avoided being scammed further from two of the largest operating plumbing companies in the city when we got a real-time camera scoping that showed the pipe was clean after jetting. Terrys is professional, honest and fair and he gave us good advice.. I am grateful for his help.

A few weeks ago my 3 year old decided hed throw river rock down our vent pipe into our sewer drain. Before we noticed hed filled the ten foot deep pipe with 5 feet of rock. We called another company (the best in the business) and were pressured into starting work the next day for $4500, which didnt even include the price of replacing sidewalks and landscaping that would be destroyed in the process. They also suggested we might line the drain for another $10,000. Not wanting to have raw sewage back up in our basement we panicked and scheduled the work for the next day.That night we called Terry, got a return call from a plumber and then from Terry himself within 10 minutes. He told us to cancel the other plumber and that hed come by himself the next morning. He did, talked us through our options, gave us a quote at $2200 and then offered to save us money if I was willing to do labor. He told me I could even borrow tools from his shop and that hed coach me through doing it myself if that were possible. Finally he suggested we call a septic service to see if they could suck out the rocks one by one so we didnt have to dig anything up.The septic service was able to do the work for $280! Terry came back himself and put a camera down the line to make sure everything was clear. He then told me how to replace the vent cap myself, which I did with some elbow grease and $25 worth of parts.Long story short, Terry referred someone else to do our work (costing his company $2200) just to save us money and aggravation. He came out to our house for free twice, offered his services for free, and actually refused payment when I offered it for sending the camera down the line. I will never call another company again. TERRY IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST.

This company is amazing! The drain in my garage was backed up on a Friday night. I called Terry’s and they got back to me early on Saturday morning. Came right over within an hour and fixed the issue so quickly. He even swept up the water and put some soap down to help get the smell out. I can’t say enough great things about this company. Called Terrys Plumbing on a Saturday morning to address a water pressure issue. Water pressure kept building up overnight despite a new pressure reducing valve and expansion tank. Plumber arrived Tuesday to diagnose the issue. City of Pittsburgh water is a DISASTER as the pressure fluctuates constantly and the weekly water main breaks mean all kinds of rocks and debris in the lines. The plumber recommended redundant pressure regulators to address Pittsburgh’s disastrously bad water pressure fluctuation issues. The plumber managed to pull out multiple bits of gravel from the water line in the process… After the additional regulator, the water pressure is now sitting at a comfortable and consistent 60psi 24/7.The work done was professional, clean and consistent. I thought the price was also reasonable given the amount of time they were here and the thoroughness of addressing the problem. I’ll definitely be using Terrys for any future plumbing needs!

Ive had a wonderful experience with Terrys Plumbing. I called them to open up a clogged drain pipe in the basement. Once the guys got there, it was cleared within 45 minutes, and the two guys who showed up were pleasant and on time. They had a special going on, and I was charged $89. While they were there, I had them quote replacing the main line from the house out to the road. I had this quoted twice before the prior summer by Gillece and another company (I think it was Mr. Rooter). The other guys quotes both came in around $12,000. Terrys charged me the fee to send the camera down the line and the time to look at it, about $90 (the line was in terrible shape, tree roots entering every connection of 4-foot terracotta over a 30-foot section).The two guys who first showed up called in what had to be done to the main office, and within 30 minutes of that, Terry himself showed up to inspect the line and give me a firm quote. Terrys quote was $3,900...thats less than 1/3 the other two guys! Within an hour of Terry being there, there were 3 new guys at the house with a small backhoe getting to work on removing the old line. That was Wednesday afternoon, and by Friday mid-day, I had a new main-line and the work was complete, no hassles at all.The best thing about this is that I told the first two guys that showed up how much the other companies quoted to replace that same line. Terrys could have quote me just a few thousand dollars under the other guys quotes, and I would have still gone with Terrys...but he didnt do that; he gave me a fair price even knowing he could have made more money and I would have still been happy. I will definitely be using Terrys for any plumbing jobs in the future!

Terrys Plumbing to the rescue!On Sunday the 10th, I noticed some water coming into my basement at an impressive rate. Since we moved in October 2015, this had happened a few times with heavy rain, but nothing to this magnitude - it was literally pushing holes in the hydraulic cement i had patched in a few places.There was a sudden cold snap on the 10th as well, went from nearly 50 degrees the day before, to about 0 degrees in a day - and that was coupled with about a half inch of rain - so I just immediately thought I needed a drain. On the off chance it was a water line, I called my borough and asked them to come and check to make sure that this wasnt the case.The borough didnt call me back until Monday morning, after which I spent most of the night trying to abate the leaking to no avail. The water company professional told me that he didnt think that it would be a water line, or backed storm drain, because the water lines were new, and there are no storm drains on our street. He also mentioned that with the recent snowfall, that they would have to wait to check the line until there was a dry day and a decrease in traffic to be able to hear if there was a leak.So, based on that information, I surrendered to the fact that I would most likely need an internal french drain. I called several places, and even a general contractor, all of whom didnt have immediate response times.This is important, because of what my wife and I had to do whilst waiting for an eval and price we could afford - this was building a levy in my basement to contain the water, using flow dams to try to direct it to drains, and every towel, blanket and sheet in the house needed to be spun out in the washer, and about 30 gallons of water vacuumed out and dumped every 6 hrs, for 7 days, so it didnt completely destroy my basement. We entertained all offers, none were great, but we were going to have to do something soon.Then, on Thursday night, I noticed that around my curb box for the water service line had no snow, neither did my hillside, and it was very soggy. So I took pictures, and sent them to the borough manager, asking for someone to come and check the line. Move to Friday Morning, the water authority gentleman who came up three times over the next few days, was such a nice man, and he very nicely told us what the problem was, and what we needed to do to get it fixed. I called in every person I knew, even my uncle who was a retired plumber for suggestions, no one had a good one, so I turned to Angies List, and good thing I did.When I called Terrys plumbing, they were delightful, and Terry himself came out and took a look at what needed to be done. He gave me an amazing quote within my budget, and said that they would be back on Monday. Terry was the absolute best, he was respectful, honorable, and stood behind everything he said to me. The crew that Terry sent must be his A-Team because Jason, Jason and Tim were top shelf. They put me at ease about everything, and got everything taken care of and the water back on within just a few hours of being here the first day. They came back day 2 to straighten up the yard, and patch a hole in my basement floor where the new line came in. The whole Job went off without a hitch, other than it being about 6 degrees outside the whole time.They cleaned up everything very nicely, and gave me all the information I would need to keep myself safe going forward, and even let me know that my water tank is aging and we might want to budget for that next before it goes. Very professional, very good expert work and advice. I will use Terrys Plumbing again, and will recommend them to everyone I know. This was my first big hurdle as a homeowner, and Terrys made it easier for me. Cant thank them enough.

We called Terry for a second opinion after being told by another plumber that we would have to jackhammer up our basement floor to run a new drain pipe (for $8000). Terry showed up, took a look, and said, dont do that. Im telling you, if you were my brother, son, I would tell you not to do that (spend $8K and jackhammer your floor). Instead, he said he would show up another day and really snake out the drain to see what was going on. Terry showed up when he said, successfully snaked out the drain, and ran his camera into the problem area. The previous plumber said he believed my drain pipe was cast iron and rusted out at the bottom. Terry showed that the pipe was terracotta and obviously not rusted out. Terry did note that the pipe did not have much fall to it and that it was likely going to be a problem that needed to have an eye kept on it, but noted that the other plumbers solution was no guarantee to work either and was going to cost $8K. And all of this cost $189. So yes... five stars....

Had Terrys plumbing come in to add the underground plumbing for an additional bathroom in the basement. The guys that came to do the work were friendly, courteous, and made sure that I understood each step of the process and why they were doing what they were doing. I was also able to have them do as little or as much of the rough in as I chose which is nice since I will be doing all of the other plumbing and just needed the underground work done. I appreciated the consistant follow-up from the office to assure the work was moving forward and that the workers were doing a good job. Site was cleaned and swept. I would reccomend and would use them again.

Outstanding! I had a very large plumbinG company tell me I needed to replace my sewer line after doing a blurry sewer camera job. They left a bill for $200 and a quote from 5-12,000$ To dig out the “busted line”. I did not feel comfortable with the high pressure sales job. I wanted a second opinion. Terry came and gave a second opinion. His camera was crystal clear. He cameraworked to the same area and we found it was the p-trap! Sewer line was perfectly fine! The big plumber guy was going to dig up the yard for absolutely no reason! I am still in shock that the biG company wanted to have me pay $89 per month for 5 years to destroy my perfectly fine sewer line.
