These guys are the best in the area price wise, time wise and work quality wise. I have used them 3-4 times now and find the reasonable. A guy name Jim who works here is wonderful.They installed water heater and very reasonable cost like 50% lower, the only other company comparable was Mr Water heater but they just do water heaters and not plumbingThey repaired a leak in kitchen sink drain pipe which was not easily accessible and was leaking in garage due to corrosion, other competing companies were charging me arm and leg.Update 12/06/23:The company has gone horrible since part of Armstrong comfort solutions. SIMPLY AWESOME!!!I called MMP around 8 am and spoke to Cindy. She had me take some pictures of my water heater to email over to them. Within 45 minutes I spoke to Diane, she gave me the price and said she could have someone out to my house by early afternoon the same day. Diane called me back at roughly 11:30 am to let me know a crew had finished a bigger job early and could be at my house in 45 minutes (they got here in 30!).Jim and Joe were AWESOME! We went over the issues and they answered ALL of our questions and then some. Within an hour and a half they had the old water tank out and the new one installed along with a pressure regulator. Their work was EXCELLENT and the price was good! They will be my go to for any future plumbing needs. I asked MMP to get me a quote for a new furnace and AC unit, I will be sure to edit the review and let everyone know how that goes.

A guy named Tim came out to find/fix a leak, which we thought was coming from behind the shower, but it was later determined to be coming from the floor. He suggested going behind the wall in the other bathroom to fix the problem to not mess up the tile. He was very nice, courteous and beyond helpful and and professional.I have used their service in the past and once again they dont fail to deliver consistent quality workmanship.

We were so impressed by the hard work & efforts of the Matt Mertz team! They were able to fully & professionally install our stacked washer dryer within the timeframe promised, even despite a couple curveballs upon getting started.We are so grateful that the Matt Mertz team was able to salvage this job. We had hired another company to start this project, but quickly realized they were not equipped to complete the job as they had bidded & scheduled. They were also shockingly lacking in customer service, and communication / organization at the office. So, we fired them & turned to Matt Mertz, and it was one of the best decisions Ive made for our home.The Matt Mertz team worked hard not only to install everything professionally, but also to correct the mess left behind by another company. We sincerely appreciate their hard work, and clear communications about the plan during every major step of the project.This company went above and beyond the basic requirements to get this job done. They left our space in much better shape than they found it, clean, and all ready to use. We had a slow leak in the ceiling underneath our bathroom. We were very happy that they could come fix the problem so quickly and close to a holiday. Today I had the best experience working with Matt Mertz Plumbing. I spoke with Mary at the office when I called and her kindness and professionalism comforted me and let me know that I was in good hands from the start. My plumber today was named Rob and I felt very comfortable with him in my home and he was kind enough to explain what he was doing while he did it and didnt make me feel silly for any of my questions. I am very pleased with the compassion and responsiveness of this company and know that I can trust them with any of my plumbing needs.

They replaced two toilets that were supposed to be standard height but they installed comfort height. Not a problem as they apologized and rescheduled then installed the proper height toilets. The plumber was really friendly and knowledgeable, as was the manager I spoke with. I will continue to use them. Oh, 4 out of 5 only because of installing twice but that was simple miscommunication.

I called around to a lot of places for quotes on a water heater replacement and these guys had the best rate by far. Dispatch was very pleasant to deal with, and Maryanne made sure I was on the schedule before the weekend so my daughter and I werent without hot water until Monday. Brandon came out at the exact time dispatch said he would, and he was very polite and professional. He explained everything clearly and did not try to upsell me on a bunch of stuff I didnt need which is more than could be said about a lot of competitors. There were absolutely no hidden fees or up charges, I paid exactly what was quoted. Brandon even gave some advice on possible issues with my chimney and things to look out for on my PVM. From start to finish, I really dont think it couldve gone better. Ill absolutely be calling them for future work.

Thanks! I was very impressed with the Rob, the gentleman and technician that came out on an emergency hot water tank replacement on a Sunday morning. The removal and install was done quickly, professionally and all the while respecting for my home and property. I maybe easily impressed but I have to say the reworking of the copper piping is like artwork. Rob even wiped up the floor up after he was done. Ive had previous companies that that was not even a thought. Great Job! I will definitely use Matt Mertz Plumbing for all my plumbing needs in the future. No doubt about it.

In January 2021, my husband and I hired Matt Mertz Plumbing to remove an old gravel dry well in our front yard, install a new plastic dry well, redirect underground pipes, install new gutter downspouts, and repair a section of nearby concrete in the driveway. Within days of the estimate, the company was ready to begin the work. Two employees showed up at my house on time, and they were extremely courteous, knowledgeable, and skilled. The price was hundreds of dollars less than another company’s estimate. The employees left no mess behind, and since then, the dry well and downspouts have worked extremely well. In May 2021, I called this company again to permanently remove a sprinkler/irrigation system inside my basement. The employee showed up within his estimated time window, and he had a nice personality. He removed, capped, and connected several pipes, and he used hydraulic cement to fill in holes in the cinder blocks. The price was reasonable. Then West View Water Authority emailed me their specifications for removing an irrigation system (I wish that I had received the specifications earlier), and Matt Mertz sent a second plumber to my house to check the first plumber’s work for free. West View Water Authority inspected and approved the work. I will definitely continue to use Matt Mertz Plumbing in the future.

I was 100% impressed and pleased by the service at Matt Mertz Plumbing. I called several plumbing companies to fix a broken sewer pipe (and ultimately a tap that was never installed in the first place), and Matt Mertzs team was easily the fastest, friendliest, and most communicative of all of them. From the first telephone call requesting service, to the follow-up calls and confirmation calls from Bob, to the service provided by Ron, Dylan, and the rest of the team - it was all excellent. I am so grateful for the work they did, and that they were able to do it so efficiently and with such class (they must have fielded a million questions from my neighbors). We realized an awful smelling black liquid was backing up into our shower drain, we asked our friends about local plumbers and every single one of them came back with Matt Mertz. We gave them a call and they got us scheduled with a reasonable 4 hour window a few days later (We told them it wasnt a rush or emergency to us, they didnt force us into a later date.) On the day of my appointment I called in to confirm I was on the books, as I was leaving work for this and have had experiences with other companies not showing. Diane answered, was very pleasant, was able to confirm me and tell me who would be coming out for me. A short while later Adam gave me a call to let me know he would be here in 20 minutes, and sure enough he pulled up 20 minutes later. Adam was very friendly and professional. When he asked how I was I said Hopefully better if this can be resolved and he answered positively with Not hopefully, were gonna get you all sorted out. He worked quickly and explained what the issue was clearly. He answered all of my questions, cleaned up after himself, and was back out of my door for the exact quoted cost, not a penny more, in 15-20 minutes. I would absolutely call Matt Mertz again for my plumbing needs.

I have always used these guys for years and been very pleased on smaller jobs. In total 5-6 times, 3 different guys all very nice and knowledgeable.Recently our sewer backed up and Adam came out to snake the line. After some hard attempts he finally got the line to drain but the camera showed roots had crushed the pipe. He was able to pinpoint the location and give me an up front cost to repair. I got three other estimates and Matt Mertz was in the lower of them with a much better warranty. We scheduled with them and the repair was dug up in no time. We found there to be issues going into the street also but when Adam consulted with the owner they were able to give me an option to reline the old pipe instead of digging up the street! In total on this job I dealt with 6-7 employees in total including the actual owner. Top notch the entire way. Its horrible to have to deal with a repair like this but much easier when dealing with true professionals. I will never think twice about using them in the future.

Rob did an amazing job for us installing a new water heater and bringing the old connections up to code. He was clean, efficient and really cared about getting the project done properly. He even went out of his way to patch a vent hole because he was worried about carbon monoxide leaking. Couldnt ask for a nicer guy. We will definitely have him back to do some other jobs.

They sent over Rob who looked at my problems and made me feel assured that my troubles were over! He replaced my leaking main water shut off valve to my house with a valve that is really easy-to-use! Called Matt Mertz Plumbing for a basement drain that was clogged. They promised same day service but had about a 6-7 hour window to arrive. I expected that to mean id be waiting 6 or 7 hours, but was pleasantly surprised to have a plumber arrive within 3 hours. He was efficient and professional. Cleaned up after himself and even went way beyond cleaning up a drain mess i had made in the nearby sink, which wasnt necessary to do for the repair. I cant recommend strongly enough and I will be using Matt Mertz Plumbing for any other needs I may have.

After further examination, Chris came to explain the rest of the problems that were not seen prior. Jim from Matt Mertz Plumbing came to my home to replace a burst pipe inside the dining room wall in my 80-year-old house. Jim was prompt, polite, friendly, and professional. I recently had a water heater issue where it was leaking . I wasnt sure if needed fixed or a new tank so I called Matt Mertz Plumbing and told them the issue . I figured they would have to send a guy to look at it first than figure out what to do from there and would prob take a week . I gave them all the water tank info on old tank and same day around 6pm Matt and Mike came and looked at the problem and had a new tank ready because the old tank was over 13 years old and rotted . They worked late till almost 10pm but completed entire job with cement and new plumbing lines . I cant believe they were able to help me and complete job in same day . I would highly recommend them to anyone and those 2 gentleman were extremely friendly ,neat, and very detailed . Excellent job guys thank you !!!!##

Having to replace or repair our entire sewer line two weeks before Christmas was no picnic. Matt and his crew were awesome, very professional showed up every morning when they said they would and were very tidy. The guys had to dig an 11 foot hole in our front porch by hand in 20 degree weather and I never heard them complain. I would definitely recommend them a hundred times over. I am thankful they made a stressful situation alitte more bearable.

Brian, aka Tar, came out and repaired a simple old cast iron pipe problem under the toilet, when other plumbers had quoted us 8-10x the expense and the need to do much more extensive work. Recommend 100%. Especially if your home has old iron pipes, make sure you get an experienced plumber like the guys at Matt Mertz.

I discovered a leak in my basement and called Matt Mertz that night. It was not an emergency but they called me back early the next morning and had someone at my house by 10:30 am. Adam came in and assessed everything and was able to find a pin hole leak in a the copper tubing behind the dishwasher. They were very quick, reasonably priced, and very professional. I would definitely use them again.

My entire sewer system needed replaced.. The job at my house turned into a 2 week ordeal. The gentleman I met through out this whole nightmare, put me at ease. They were all exceptional workers. Mike, Nathan, Dylan, Don, Joe, Jeff, Neil, down to the owner Matt himself were guys here throughout these two weeks. They answered every question myself or even my 7yr old son asked. Not only did they answer, they went above and beyond to explain more about what they were doing. Other than the new concrete in my basement, you wouldnt even have known they were here. Extremely clean. They take their jobs seriously, but have fun doing so. They took extra time today after it was finished, to make sure the sidewalk was swept thoroughly. My old furnace wasnt even connected to electricity but these guys went above and beyond, gave me an excellent contact in Conrad, and then came back at a later date to install a filter boot that could not be installed at the original installation date. UPDATE: The company called to ask if there was anything they could do to make this right. Changing my review to 4 stars purely on a customer service basis. The error may have been a slight oversight or miscommunication on their part, but it resulted in us having to go out of our way at the last minute to buy our own parts.The work that was done seems to be of good quality as far as I can see, and it seems they do care about their customers.Wrote on our signed quote, as well as in an email to the company that we would like arrestors installed to prevent water hammering. I got an email back saying they would call us to schedule service.When the plumber showed up he stated that was something we have to supply ourselves. We were never told this, despite having mentioned it both on the signed quote, and in an email.Not sure what kind of plumbing company makes you buy your own parts. My husband had to run out at the last minute to buy them from Home Depot. Will not use their service again.

They were readily available when we needed them, Earl was extremely kind and helpful, and best of all, the inspection was only $80, the best price we could find.Just keep your wits about you, they might try to upsell you on a second service to get a better look, and now you’ve no longer saved your money. If you hold fast against the upsell and take your camera inspection by itself to make your opinion, then you will get the best price on an inspection in the city.Thanks for the great service! Found my new go-to plumbers. After some initial communication issues, the company reached out to me and made it right. Im so glad I stuck with them because Jim and Joe did such a good job. All-pro job, cleaned up after themselves, explained to me how to overwinter everything. Cant say theyre the cheapest, but Im super happy with the job they did. Their receptionist isnt particularly friendly, as I read on several other reviews as well, but I suggest trying to ignore that. Or just ask to talk to Lisa. Job was top-notch.

Earlier this summer, one of Matts plumbing crews was putting in a water line for a new house next to mine. Since my water line crosses a paper street (creek) between my meter and my house, the water company neglected to mark my water line and it was busted in the process of installing the new line next door. When I arrived home from work that evening, the foreman (Jim) was waiting outside for me to let me know what had happened and ran me through the process to flush the sediment from my water lines. Due to the sediment accumulation, I had some issues with my faucet and one of my valves sprung a small leak, so Jim came out the next day to fix it free of charge. Once I received my water and sewage bills for the quarter, Matts team provided exceptional customer service and offered fair compensation for the water used to flush my lines and for the time and money I spent fixing other valves in my house. I do not use contractors often - Im an engineer - but I will definitely be calling Matt Mertz if I am ever in need of the services they provide.

Matt has done two jobs for me during the past 2 years. One was an excavation and installation of a storm sewer at my brothers house and the other was an excavation and installation of a new waste pipe from the house to the septic tank. That job also included the replacement of old 4-inch cast iron waste pipes in the cellar with plastic. Both jobs were expertly done at a reasonable price and the yards were put back into good order with only minimal settling. I would highly recommend Matt for such work. He runs a first class business.
