I have used McVay Plumbing for a variety of services, but recently had AC installed in my 2nd and 3rd floors. It was a complicated process given that my home has no duct work and we had to go with a Bryant ductless system. It took the team 5 days to install, but they did a fantastic job. They were clean, courteous, and explained the process up front. I was updated daily on what they were trying to do for that day. The system is impressive and the service was outstanding. Id highly recommend if youre looking for the right service provider for heating & cooling. McVay is the way to go!

Weve used McVeigh Plumbing and Heating since we moved into this house in the 2010s. We have never been disappointed in quality of service or of the work that they do. They are an excellent company to have work done by. We will stick with this company because they are excellent at engaging with customers. They are very diligent in their jobs and they are great in their work performance and ethics. All people who work for them are excellent and easy to deal with as well as honest. I cant recommend them more highly. They are simply excellent.

My furnace went off once last month and then again yesterday. Im a renter, so getting it serviced as an emergency in the middle of a cold snap in January (with absentee landlords) was a little challenging. McVeys is the number on the side of the boiler. They worked with me and my landlord to get the service call done, thankfully.When Mike (?) got in to look at it, he was very friendly and especially communicative with me, letting me know what was happening and what he needed to do. He got the pilot relit, figured out that a valve had been stuck, then that there wasnt much water pressure going up to the radiators on my floor (due to another stuck valve and clogged screen). He gave me a key to bleed the rads as well. This kind of service person is a real treasure.Im very pleased this got done quickly, efficiently and with excellent customer service.

Matt and Cody installed new piping, fixtures, repaired our toilet flange, and installed a new toilet in our bathroom. They were extremely professional every step of the way. Very open and helpful, were happy to answer any questions and made some recommendations. They cleaned up after they were finished and even took the excess boxes and waste. Definitely recommend McVay for any plumbing/heating/cooling needs. They do not disappoint!

We had a great experience with McVay. Our air conditioner broke very suddenly right as a massive heatwave hit. They were out to assess quickly, and installed the new unit within 24 hours. We have family members with medical conditions that require being kept under a certain temperature, so we were grateful they were able to work so quickly. Everyone we interacted with was pleasant. The price was for the service call and then subsequent new compressor was far cheaper than any other other quote we received.

I called McVay this morning at 8 am, by 12 both Mitchell and Randy had arrived at my house to take a look at my plumbing situation. Within 30 minutes, they identified the problem and showed me the depth of how bad it was (broken pipe behind a stack in the basement). They were professional and friendly and made me feel like I was being taken care of by a friend. While the work may have to continue beyond this initial visit, Im confident that the folks at McVay will take good care of us and solve our issues like they lived here.Edit: Nic B and Damean and their whole team came out, dug up our pipes and replaced them brand new in less than 2 days (including demolition and pouring new concrete!). I was incredibly impressed with Adam and Teale from the Operations side as well. Would recommend working with them for any plumbing projects you need done.

I had lost pressure in my kitchen sink and sought out a local company. McVay was in my area and I was able to schedule online which was super convenient. McVay was prompt, knowledgeable and friendly. I received a call 20 mins before arrival and our issue was solved within the hour! An extra special shout out to Patrick, who spent the time to troubleshoot what could only be described as a once in a life time problem. With his thorough attention, we were able to get my kitchen sink back in working order! They took credit cards on the spot. I would recommend McVay to anyone looking for plumbing repairs.

Before we found McVay, we did not have good luck with plumbers. We called a few independent contractors that people in local FB groups recommended, but they either never called us back or just completely forgot to show up. We had a plumbing emergency a few months back and had to find someone to come out ASAP on a weekend, so we called McVay after finding them on Google. They have done a few jobs for us over the last few months, and we’ve been really happy with them so far. They always show up when they say they will, always give a courtesy call to let us know when they’re on their way, and when they didn’t fix our mysteriously running toilet completely the first time, they came back and made it right as soon as we called them. It’s nice to finally have a reliable plumbing company. Highly recommend.

I just bought a house where the seller was an LLC so of course the hvac and water heater were dated. So dated that they both went on the same day in the middle of winter. I called Mcvay, got in touch with their emergency responder Michael G. And not only was he there immediately, he answered all of my questions and he was also extremely fun to work with! He was very thorough in his inspections and made the inner workings of a furnace make sense to me so i could understand what happened. He made a very stressful and rough situation a lighthearted evening and assured me that we went with the right company. The Mr. Sewer crews from McVay Plumbing did a great job for us, replacing all the drain pipes under our basement floor and lining the main pipe to the municipal sewer. McVay is a big outfit. We interacted with quite a few individuals and all were efficient, professional and courteous. One gentleman took videos of the old pipes, confirmed they were crumbling, and provided cost estimates. Once the work commenced, one team worked on excavating the old drains before they found asbestos under the flooring. Another team finished excavating after we had the asbestos removed by a third party contractor. One team lined the main pipe to the municipal sewer, and one team poured concrete to cover the new pipes and fill the trenches. The service team answering the phones made sure we got a prompt response whenever we called. As you can tell, McVay brings a very deep bench to their projects. We were impressed with the consistently high standards met by all their representatives. Highly recommended.

We could not be happier with the customer service, professionalism, and service done by McVay. Our AC broke in the middle of July and John at McVay was able to prioritize us to come out and see what work we needed, and even beat the quotes we had from local competitors. We live in the city of Pittsburgh with a small basement and McVay was able to source the exact specialty parts we needed. On install day, things could not have been smoother! Rob F & Luke did an incredible job removing the old AC, installing the new one along with a new ultramodern thermostat. The new AC install came with a full electrical inspection plus full plumbing inspection. During that inspection we found a leak and McVay was able to come out the next day to repair. Their customer service is a dream and so easy to schedule and get a hold of someone. It was the easiest choice to go with McVay and we couldnt be happier with our results! Chriss team had to excavate over and under existing utilities, cross the road, took care of our neighbors property that was affected, and went above and beyond with how they handled and communicated everything. Once again McVay comes through with the lowest price and best solution. Other plumbers wanted to just dig and destroy. Adam came out and had a better solution to run a bullet line through the clay pipe saving a lot of concrete demo. From the dispatcher getting answers to my question before the job even started to the crew that showed up, no one ever seemed annoyed with the million questions i had. The crew (not good at remembering names) showed up and went to work. Professional and polite the entire time. Knocked the job off and left the area cleaner then they found it. Have already told the neighbors that asked if you have an issue call McVay first. This is the second time I have used them. Hope I dont need them again but if I do they will be the first call.

We got the 2 stage and are able to run it at 73 degrees and it is chilly still haha The system is much more quiet and efficient than our prior one. McVay Plumbing just completed a large project at our home. We were worried about the mess it would make. When Mike Rose and Reese showed up they complimented us in our preparation work and even did more than expected. Mike explained the process and plumbing changes McVay will complete. Reese worked with Mike to complete the project on time. The McVay pipe lining crew also completed their part of the project.

I contacted McVay Plumbing on Monday 9/18/2023 because my Furnace stopped working over the weekend. The company sent a young gentleman Mike G to service our Furnace the very same day. This young man service was impeccable. Mike diagnosed the issue and explained in detail what was needed to fix the problem and what the cost for the entire service would be. Also, Mike offered a Maintenance Plan, which we gladly accepted. This young man worked meticulously on the Inducer Motor to try to give us temporary heat until the part could be ordered and installed. Overall magnificent and efficient service. Ian and Kevin came by today to replace a portion of my cast-iron drain stack and established a water/drain hook up for my washing machine. They also helped install the exhaust pipe to my dryer.Ian was careful when cutting into the drain stack and cleaned up the all of the debris and water that collected on the floor. Kevin did a great job in connecting my dryer exhaust pipe, working the project, and walked me through everything they did as well. They both worked as a team and were done a lot faster than we all expected. I will be having them come out again for anything else I need in the future.

McVay installed our new Bryant Furnace and AC. Walt, Ryan and Adam performed the work and were excellent. Their work exceeded our expectations. It has been a few months and our electric and gas bills have been greatly reduced, the system is running smoothly, and we are very happy. We will be replacing our attic unit in the spring and hope Walt, Ryan and Adam are our installers.We had a leaky faucet that needed to be replaced and decided to replace our disposal as well. We were able to get a next day appointment. Kevin handled both items flawlessly. He was professional and quickly did the installations. This is our first experience with McVay plumbing, although we have used the Heating and Cooling side. Both sides have provided excellent, timely service.

Overall McVay did a great job. They were quick to respond, and their rep Adam, who did the original bid was extremely knowledgeable, professional and pleasant. I had already gotten several bids. Their’s was very fair and I had the most confidence in their ability to do the job right. They were timely and arrived on schedule. After the work was done, they sent Chris out to follow up and make sure that all was well. I very much appreciated that personal touch. Chris was also very pleasant and professional. They had some difficulty getting the liner in, but they were persistent and returned to complete the job. My only issue was a little lack of communication about the return time. They are merging with another company, so some bumpiness in that transition is to be expected. Once I expressed my need for better communication, though, they were very quick to rectify that issue. Everyone I spoke to at McVay, with the exception of their answering service, was courteous, competent and efficient. They seem to be a company that really cares about customer satisfaction and their reputation. I would recommend them to anyone with confidence.

Second time we’ve had to call a plumber since buying our home in March. We weren’t able to go through our home warranty for our water pressure issue and we were worried about pricing. What I thought would be an easy fix for me to replace the guts of my toilet turned into a situation “above my pay grade” when I couldn’t get the valve to shut off completely. Kevin came on a Sunday to help me out. He replaced the valve and water line. He also discovered that the water pressure coming from the street was much higher than it should have been. Kevin was able to install a pressure gauge and new shut off valve during the same visit. Kevin was professional and explained everything so I could understand and made all the repairs very quickly. I had a clog in my garbage disposal that caused a backup in both the kitchen sink and dishwasher. My house is currently under construction as well, so initially it was difficult to figure out what was causing the issue. McVay was easy to schedule with, communicative about when the plumber would be coming, and so polite. Ian did the work at my home. He was polite, friendly, on time. He explained what had happened and showed me how to reset the breaker on my garbage disposal. He wore shoe covers in the home without being asked, he cleaned up after he completed the project, and he spoke directly to me. I know that these may seem odd to mention, but after almost a year of construction and service providers, someone that looks you in the eye, calls you by your name, respects your property and cleans up their workspace is RARE. I am completely satisfied with my service and the service provider: Ian. I highly recommend them, and in the future, they will be my first choice if needed. Job well done!

He showed us the existing igniter next to a new one and explained the normal average capacity was in the 35-55 range and ours was at 54.5. I appreciated that he took the time to both show me and explain why this was necessary to keep the furnace running properly. Aside from replacing the furnace and humidifier filters this was the only other thing needed.
