Replaced a HVAC unit today with TRADEMASTERS Service.com from Lorton, Virginia. The Installation Team was excellent. Everything was well-done and all questions were answered. The Estimator had spent a fair amount of time explaining how the work would be done and stayed in contact to answer questions. And the Scheduling Coordinator had done the same. This is a professional company with skilled people who are responsive and knowledgeable. Happy to recommend TradeMasters.

My 19 yo AC chose the least convenient time to go out. Remember the record setting heat we had in July? They sent a repairman out that morning to fix. He quickly realized what the problem was - total coolant leak. The age of my unit precluded a refill - the new type of coolant wouldn’t work in my unit. So…3 days later I had a new unit. Couldn’t be happier. They were quick, clean - in and out in a day. Thanks Trademaster!!!

Trademasters is a great company. I have dealt with them for HVAC needs over the last couple of years. I cant speak highly enough about them. In particular, Shane who was fantastic in helping us pick our new system. Shane is very knowledgeable and patient. He didnt use any aggressive sales tactics at all. He answered all my emails in a timely manner, even though Im sure they were annoying. I had a ton of questions! But it didnt bother him at all, at least in his responses back lol. Shane and the folks at Trademasters are top notch and I will surely be saving their contact info for any future needs.

The crew at Trademasters stands behind their work. I had an upstairs a/c system replaced and they did a great job. Overtime the base plate they used started to collapse into the garden bed . I sent pictures and they came out and replaced the base unit with a bigger one at no additional charge. It’s hard to find real honest people who do good work in the HVAC and plumbing trades but you can count on Trademasters to take care of you . Thanks again Dave and the crew

We’ve been going to Trademasters for biannual service since the mid 1990’s. They’ve always been professional and extremely responsive. When the original HVAC unit required replacement in 2006 we contacted and received quotes form a couple of HVAC firms including Trademasters. Trademasters offered a host of options for the replacement system keeping within our budget at the time. The replacement effort was efficient and professional spending time to provide instructions. A really nice, conscientious installation team. More recently, after 18 years our system began to show a refrigerant pressure loss (the R-22 refrigerant has long been discontinued) and other symptoms of pending trouble. We went back to Trademasters. HVAC technology has greatly expanded and again Trademasters explained in detail a wide range of systems options to respond to our current needs. Current systems are far more flexible and responsive while still being energy conservative. Again, the replacement was efficient and professional spending time to walk through system operation and thermostat control options. The installation team was more like family showing patience and care insuring we thoroughly understood.

Why Choose Trademasters?? My (26) year old furnace needed to be serviced, so after positive reviews I called Trademasters Service, Lorton, VA. From the first call to the office to schedule an appointment, I spoke with Jamie who was a pleasure to speak to. Gabriel came the same week to service my furnace. He was pleasant and knowledgeable about his review and explained everything to me. Once I made a decision to replace the furnace, Shane came within days to discuss replacement unit. I chose a Trane Furnace. Shane explained the different features with the units. He did not try to upsell and not pushy. Very knowledgeable. The Furnace replacement was installed by Technicians, Abisai and Erick. They worked efficiently, explained process and cleaned up afterwards. After installation, Trademasters scheduled an “installation checkup” with Ben, Quality Control Manager; checks unit is working to its full capacity and to do any tweaking if necessary and answer questions. I was impressed with this followup service. I highly recommend Trademasters service. They definitely earn a 5-star rating.

Do not waste your time going anywhere else. If you need a repair or replacement done in your home and want folks who truly care about fixing the issue at hand without selling you into unnecessary nonsense - this is the company. I am floored by everyone that helped out, from Jamie & Ashley who were understanding, friendly, and quick with quotes, to Devon & Phil who were beyond incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. Not only did they diagnose and fix the issue, but they also gave super helpful tips for maintenance. They actually care and that is really rare to find nowadays. I have been using Trademasters for several years to do my HVAC maintenance and a condominium required furnace inspection. They have been very upfront about any repairs that have been required and dont automatically push replacing your system. They have always timely when you make an appointment. To flush this out a bit more, I had them replace my entire system because I wanted an up to date and more efficient system. The crew that did the installation was knowledgeable and professional and did a very neat job. Unfortunately the new compressor had a leak because of faulty manufacture. But when there are problems this is when a company shows its true colors. Jamie got right on it to get a replacement compressor delivered and they sent a crew out the next week to install it. Again the second crew was professional and did exceptional work. I would not hesitate to recommend their services to anyone who cares to ask.

What a good experience this was! Shane was responsive, clear, and prompt. The installation crew was friendly, efficient, and very easy to talk to. They seemed proud of their work and eager to explain it. They worked for 6.5 hours without a break and cleaned up well. We went from initial inquiry to system installed in about 10 days and had it not been for our schedule, it could have been sooner.

They had the most competitive price for the best unit, but the thing that sets them apart is the attention to detail and pride in their work. They created a custom wood box to mount the HVAC unit and had the best readings after installation. I was incredibly impressed with their work and can honestly say I’m looking forward to having them install a new unit upstairs, as well, once that in fails. This is truly a local company that cares about their community.

Of course our AC died on the hottest day of the year. Trademasters got a technician out the same day. Bad news ... needed a new outdoor unit. It took a couple of days to get the unit installed, but Im a very happy repeat Trademasters customer. They show up when they say the will, do the work they promise, at a very good price. Plus they are really nice folks to work with. I HIGHLY recommend them for all your HVAC needs.

Im giving Trademasters five stars thanks to the five-star service we received. We recently had our ancient (and dead) HVAC unit replaced by this company and the quality of work was excellent! Also, the staff worked with a high level of professionalism.From our initial estimate meeting with Shane, I was very comfortable with his knowledge and was confident that they could do the job, which wasnt and easy one due to the age of our previous unit and the orientation of it. Shane gave a competitive quote and we decided on Trademasters largely due to his understanding of the situation and his experience.The staff worked from 7 am to 4 pm. It was an all-day job, but they got the work done earlier than previously estimated. Safety precautions were definitely taken and the technicians kept their masks on for the duration of the work, which alleviated any concerns. Once that air conditioning kicked it, relief was granted! Payment was easy as well and the office staff did a great job coordinating everything.Awesome service and highly recommended!

We are long time clients of this company and, after pricing different providers for this installation, we decided to have them accomplish the job. Devon was our technician and I was so impressed, I sent a message to the company! Devon was not only very capable and efficient, but just such a great guy! He went way above and beyond helping me to clear the area around the hot water heater location, was kind and thoughtful and just a joy to have about for the duration of a pretty complicated job. We were having problems with a furnace installation completed by a different company and called Trademasters for help. Ben, Phil and Gabriel came to our rescue and figured out a cost-effective way to make a big improvement. Ben really threw himself into researching the best approach to resolving an unusual problem. He identified three options, and the least expensive also turned out to be the one that made sense for us.Everyone I’ve worked with at Trademasters has been excellent. They demonstrate expertise, they’re responsive, and the prices are very reasonable. I wish we’d chosen them for the furnace installation in the first place and we wouldn’t have had a problem. They have my very highest recommendation.

My business had one of those nightmare weeks when everything went wrong with our mechanical systems. It began with a 200 Amp panel box failing resulting in the loss of power in one of our Suites. The property managements electrician believed that the HVAC caused the panel to fail, but I asked Trademasters for a second opinion. They were able to diagnose the issue and saved us a lot of money and critical time by properly diagnosing the problem. A few days later the roof mounted HVAC unit on another of our Suites stopped working. Again, Trademasters quickly came over and were able to immediately diagnose and fix the problem. Trademasters is an exceptional organization full of true professionals from the owner, to the techs, and all of the staff. This a very good and trustworthy company that I highly recommend.

My HVAC of 23 years kicked the bucket. I received four proposals to replace my system. Trademasters Service gave me a fair proposal and blew the competition out of the water hence, it was an easy decision for me on who to hire. On the day of my installation, the crew showed up early and on time. They worked really hard and did a fabulous job. When the job was complete, they showed me everything that was done and made sure that if I had any questions at all, they were answered. The crew cleaned up and I was left to enjoy my new HVAC system. I would not hesitate to recommend Trademasters to anyone and I would hire them again in a heartbeat.

I called this company for a second opinion on my heat pump after some concerns when my regular HVAC company said it needed to be replaced and was hard selling me to do it immediately. TradeMasters came out to give me their own estimate and after looking at the system questioned whether it needed to be replaced. Their technician came out the next day and confirmed the system was good for several more years with one inexpensive fix. After this excellent experience, I signed a maintenance contact with TradeMasters and dropped my original company.

Trademasters just saved me $3700 as best as I can figure it. Beat that! The original installing firm without testing or trying to troubleshoot, told me my combo heating/hot water unit had no parts available and that I needed a new boiler, chimney sleeve - the works. Trademasters plumbers on the other hand came and correctly diagnosed it was a exterior (to the unit) mixing valve. They spent time, researching and reading to make sure. They were all such great guys - Phil, Mark, Joel. The boiler (Joel) specialist came and within 3 minutes confirmed proper function with piping hot water coming from taps and showers. He replaced probably a $50 mixing valve and now we have more hot water than ever before, and, its been 12-15 years! The first installing company - UAT - installed it with too much cold flow (not tuned correctly) Imagine that! Anyway, its rare to find an honest company that allows you to put ALL that money back in your pocket. Trademasters will a be my service company for our rental house and Ill advocate for them going forward. Outstanding! Thanks everyone.

Had a minor flood in my kitchen due to a busted faucet. Phil came out and quoted me a fair price. To give you an idea this was 50% of what another company had quoted me. I needed to have the faucet installed and a pipe rerouted. Phil took care of it in no time flat, told me everything he was doing, and adjusted my home water pressure so I wouldn’t have further issues. Phil is a really good guy and a very good plumber.

We used Trademasters about a year ago to inspect our residential heat pump system and they were great.We were first-time home buyers who didnt know anything about heat pump systems and figured we should get it inspected. We had first contacted another local company (McCarthy Services) for an inspection, and they wrote up about $4,000 dollars in repairs and tried to pressure us into buying a brand new system for $5,500, telling us our current system could go at any time but they could give us a big discount if we acted within the next two weeks. We were rather surprised and contacted Trademasters to get a second opinion.Trademasters got a tech out to us within a few days and he did a thorough inspection job. His conclusion: Everything was fine, no repairs needed. We then showed him the estimate from the other company and he laughed at how ridiculous it was. He informed us that all the technical information on the McCarthy inspection report was correct, but that it was still within acceptable tolerances for operation. He also told us that the prices for repair were wildly inflated, and that McCarthy was working on commission and figured we were an easy (and inexperienced) mark.Needless to say, we will be using Trademasters for all future repairs or replacement of our heat pump system. They already saved us $5,500 just by showing up and being honest.

Trademasters is its namesake.I needed to replace an HVAC system that was 30+ years old and had requested estimates from three different companies. Trademasters made it an easy decision upfront and constantly reinforced that it was a good decision to go with them.Everyone that I interacted with from this company was on-time, professional, and intelligent about their subject matter. Shane, who did the initial visit for inspection to prepare an estimate, was prompt with both his arrival and with his promised delivery of the proposal itself; it was in my inbox the next morning. I made clear to Shane that one of my main goals was efficiency, and he gave me a proposal that addressed that goal. It was extremely competitive in terms of efficiency as well as cost. The proposal was for a Daikin Fit heat pump with gas backup and a Daikin One thermostat. (As far as I can tell, Trademasters is the *only* company in the area that installs Daikin.) Shane was available via email and phone to eagerly and happily took the time to address questions I had about the proposed furnace as well as the type of refrigerant being used.When it turned out that the needed equipment would take a few days to arrive from the manufacturer, Trademasters provided, at no cost to me, a portable a/c unit I could use to keep cool as spring gave way to summer; thank you to Josh for on-time delivery and setup of the unit.The level of detail the crew shows was exemplified in when they inspected the equipment after it arrived from the manufacturer. Rather than receive the equipment and load it up right away, they checked it over and identified damage from shipping that could have compromised the internal components. They were able to get the manufacturer to expedite a new part and communicated the issue to me so I knew and understood what was happening.Another aspect that I caught my attention was an offhand comment during the pre-installation visit from Ben. Aside from writing down accurate measurements and well-thought-out plan of approach for the day of installation, he mentioned in the course of conversation a tidbit that he had learned while listening to an HVAC podcast. Yes, an HVAC podcast. I had no idea such a thing existed, but it signaled to me that Ben was continuing to expand and refresh his knowledge about his field of expertise. Just as you would prefer to go under the knife of a surgeon who is up-to-date on knowledge about a procedure youre undergoing, it makes sense to want to hire HVAC professionals who continue to develop their knowledge of a field that continues to evolve.On the big day. David and Connor were prompt, just like everyone else, and they set right to work. While I stayed out of their way, there were very friendly when answering questions I had while observing the process. Even Ben made a brief appearance to check in and observe that things were going smoothly. Ultimately, they made quick work of the installation, wrapping up before 3PM!Finally, I would be remiss without mentioning Jamie. Though I only ever interacted with her via email and phone, she was the New Systems Manager that orchestrated the whole experience and maintained communication with me throughout. Thank you, Jamie, and thank you to everyone else Ive mentioned here and to the folks who I may not know but who had a hand in making this possible.When first viewing the website for Trademasters, its apparent that they do a lot of commercial HVAC work, and Im of the opinion that the professionalism and quality necessary to make it in the commercial realm has a positive impact on the experience they provide when it comes to residential HVAC.This was a lot of words to convey why I rated Trademasters the way I did, but I feel it serves to underscore my original point.Trademasters is its namesake.

I received estimates from 5 other companies. Trademasters provided me the most comprehensive and best valued system. They worked with me through many adjustments to my quote and once we agreed on a system, delivered quality system ahead of schedule. Trademasters understands the Trane HVAC system better than any other company I spoke with. I would definitely work with them again as a preferred contractor.

I have been using Trademasters for my HVAC needs since 2011. Last week the A/C unit needed replacing and the team of Ben, Connor and David came to the rescue! They were prompt, courteous, professional and explained what they were doing every step of the way.I also had one of the new Nesting thermostats installed (works with Alexa) . . . and they walked me thru setting up the app and all things related to that aspect of the install.Shane (estimator) had come a few days prior and explained that would be needed as well as how the install would proceed.There is an old saying about youth sports: There is no letter i in the word team . . . and what I saw at work throughout my interface with Trademasters was a team approach. Trademasters semi-annual visit to check our HVAC systems was, as always, very professional. AJ came prepared and while checking our system noticed that our water heater had a small leak. Since it was part of the house’s original equipment, it was 20 years old—well past the norm for a water heater. We quickly asked for a proposal from Trademasters which they provided that day. We have been dealing with Trademasters since they first started business about 30 years ago. Although a bit pricey, their work and materials are outstanding and they are quick to respond to anything needed.

Our experience with Trademaster was a very welcome exceptional experience in replacing our HVAC system. We had contact with five representatives/technicians for the entire process. All were most professional in presenting the information we requested to the actual installation. With the average daily temperature reaching 90 degrees, the time for replacing our system was important. From the initial request for an estimate to the installation, Trademaster folks did it in a little less than three weeks. I have been a Trademasters customer since 2012 when they installed a new Trane HVAC system in my Alexandria, VA townhouse. I have had a service contract with them as well. They have always promptly responded to any issue. From the office staff to the technicians, I could count on them to be polite, informative, punctual, responsive and professional. Last week was a perfect case in point. I am selling my townhouse and while the home inspector and buyer were over, we had smelled gas. One call to Trademasters and they were promptly over the house. After thoroughly troubleshooting the HVAC and gas water heater, Gabriel was able to trace the leak to the gas logs in the fireplace, shut the gas off to the logs and immediately inform me at work. An intermittent problem unresolved over the past year was finally identified and I was able to fix the problem. While I am moving out of state, I could not have been happier with Trademasters and strongly recommend them to anyone in their service area.

We had our air conditioning go out unexpectedly on a weekend. I called first thing on a Saturday morning, and a technician came out later that same morning. He was able to get the system back working in the morning, but in the afternoon we heard a sound that indicated a further problem. We called and the technician came out again that same day, was able to do some additional diagnostics and determined that a bear in the motor had gone. While Trademasters was not able to fix it that day, they called first thing Monday morning and got a technician out to replace the motor. We have a regular service agreement and they only charged us for replacing the motor. I very much appreciate the expertise and professionalism of the technicians and prompt response from the support staff. I will definitely stay with Trademasters.

Their representative, was not only professional and polite, but took the time to explain what combination of components would work best for our house and didnt try to upsell us on a more expensive set-up, which earned our business. They were sure to include and explain the little things that really make a difference that we would not have even though of as a homeowner. Things that seem “small” but are worth it such as a trap we can see and clean, a drip pan sensor and float sensor to detect leaks and clogged lines to prevent water damage to our house, and a new equipment pad and risers for the outdoor unit. Really appreciated the honesty and transparency of the quote. They additionally provided great information for us to decide on the type of replacement unit we wanted/needed. They answered any questions we had promptly and thoroughly. When the two technicians arrived on site they were on time, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable. They wore face masks (COVID), shoe covers, and laid down a drop cloth from the front door to the indoor unit to protect the house during their work and trips inside and out. They were impeccable when they cleaned up their work inside and out. They were extremely professional, hard working and efficient during their time here. The orientation of the new unit, explanation of the initial startup, testing of the unit and all the details of the work completed were above standard. Trademasters really goes above and beyond from start to finish.

I switched to TradeMasters a few years ago when i got tired of the “Well Known big guy” in AC/Heating got too big for their britches. I had a service contract and they would call the morning of the appointment to tell me they had to reschedule! And appointments were months out! Not with TradeMasters. Very easy to get in touch with, appointments are easy to make and you can request morning or afternoon when you make your appointment! Technicians are friendly and knowledgeable. The leave a written report of the preventative maintenance done and follow up with an email receipt. Dont waste your time with the guy painted on the truck, go with TradeMasters.

Sandy, Ashley and everyone in the scheduling team has been great in ensuring that the appointments are scheduled right away, including last minute scheduling changes. The HVAC staff who came in to fix my A/C unit is very knowledgeable. The work was done right away.Edward, the plumber who came in to help replace my toilet and sink faucet is especially notable. He is very professional, knowledgeable, and patient. Everything about Edwards work was exceptional. He made sure to wear shoe floor protectors and kept the work area clean. He provided great advice on replacement toilets and provided us with options on how we would like to proceed with the work. He was very transparent and provided us with before and after photos of the work.Edward is very customer-oriented and made sure that the job is done even when the toilet that we ordered online arrived cracked. He helped us pick a replacement toilet at Home Depot even though it meant that his work day will be longer. He provided us with advice on how to prolong the life of the fixtures that were installed. Well make sure to ask for Edward if we need additional work to be done in the future.Trademasters is also very transparent about the pricing. The cost is reasonable and actually lower than the other contractors Ive worked with in the past. In my experience, having the service plan has been great and helped lower the total cost of the work that was done.

These guys are amazing. I hired them to replace my furnace after getting a few other quotes, and they were the lowest by about $300. They also let me know that Washington Gas would give me a $300 rebate, which no other HVAC contractor mentioned, and even filled out the paperwork for me.I didnt feel like the salesperson was trying to sell me anything extra and I even got a better brand furnace (Trane) than your typical builder quality furnace.The install was quick and everyone spoke English, which I only mention because I tend to ask a lot of questions. Trademasters sent a QC inspector the following week, who caught a small mistake in the installation and fixed it immediately. He also replaced one of my breakers with a 15A breaker, which was needed because City of Alexandria codes dont allow for 20A breakers any more for my size furnace. They even mailed me some cookies afterwards! Ridiculously good company.

We had two emergencies in recent months when suddenly our furnace stopped working. The first time was in the evening on a chilly winter night. We called Trademasters and someone came out right away. Turned out the issue was simple: a bird had gotten into the chimney ductwork, found its way all down the ductwork to the bottom where it died. Its body flipped the switch basically and turned off the furnace. The Trademaster tech disposed of the bird and started the furnace again. We were very grateful that he had been able to come out in the late evening so we only spent a few hours without heat.Then same thing happened again before we had been able to get a roofing guy to come out and fix the chimney. Trademaster to the rescue, dumped bird, restarted furnace.Both times the techs were very professional, quickly found the problem, and restarted the furnace.We have now had the roofer come out to put mesh over the vent in the roof, so problem should be solved.

We had a total of 5 estimates for replacement of a heat pump and air handler for our townhouse. We found a wide range of prices, as much as $800 between them. We chose Trademasters, which was in the middle of that range, in part because they installed a furnace/ a/c in another home for us and have done fall and springs checks since then. They had always been easy to work with and schedule. That system is still working well. We had the townhouse checked out when we purchased it. David was the technician. He did a great job, explained everything about the heat pump and air handler, what potential problems we might have and the new R-ratings for coolant. The hardware was very dated (1985 and 2004), so when it had problems later, we had Trademastesr prepare an estimate. The estimator, Shane, like David, gave us cogent and detailed information and explained what he thought our best choices were. Chris (crew leader), Stephen, and Luis did the installation. They called ahead, were on time (early, even), watched out that the muddy outside did not come inside, even put up with the rambunctious puppy with grace. They worked straight through until the work was done and the house was heated, just before the unusual very cold spell that occurred in November 2019. Kudos to all of them. We would fully recommend Trademasters.
