I have been a customer of HVAC & Plumbing Unlimited for about 12 years, and while I’ve occasionally thought about trying a new company, my recent experience with them has assured me I’ll be a customer for life.Phillip came out to fix our boiler (heating system), and the service exceeded my expectations. Initially, we received an estimate for the repairs, but as often happens, not everything that needed attention was immediately visible. While putting everything back together, Phillip noticed we weren’t getting enough water pressure upstairs. After diagnosing the issue, he thought two valves might need to be replaced, which would have added to the cost. However, Phillip didn’t stop there—he kept investigating and discovered the real issue was simply the house water supply being partially shut off.It’s rare to find an expert who takes the time to dig deeper and solve the problem without unnecessary costs. Phillip’s honesty and thoroughness saved us from spending money on repairs we didn’t actually need. Today I received my semi-annual maintenance inspection and both of my technicians, Joe and John, were first rate. I have three different HVAC units and they had expertise in each one. And that’s typical of every service member I’ve dealt with over the years.I strongly encourage anyone who needs either HVAC or plumbing work to consider this company. A two-man HVAC Unlimited installation team arrived and removed a very old, obsolete, degraded, corroded, rusted-out, and broken beyond repair chilled water fan coil unit at a small one-bedroom condo I manage in Reston on Friday, June 30, 2023. They replaced it with a new JRJ 2-ton unit and a new Honeywell Pro Series thermostat at total cost of $4888.00. The technicians projected professionalism, competence, and experience. D arrived at 8:00 AM sharp, surveyed the job, and started the work. His partner, Juan, arrived at 9:00 AM bringing the new unit. The job was completed at 3:00 PM. They pressure tested the new unit, cleaned the work area thoroughly, loaded up the old unit for disposal, and gave the tenant a full orientation, including instructions for operating the digital thermostat and changing the filters.Pressure testing confirms that the fan coils are properly sealed and able to withstand the operating pressures of the chilled water system. Pressure is applied to the coils, and the system is checked for any signs of leakage or pressure drops. The testing helps identify any potential issues or leaks that need to be addressed before the fan coils are put into operation.Five stars for D and Juan, not so many for the Install Manager/Comfort Advisor, with three stars blending to four overall.

HVAC Unlimited is one of the best companies. They care about their customers and they will be there throughout the process. I had bad experience with other folks where as soon as they get their check, you will not hear from them. With these guys, they will be there when you need them until the end. My inspection got rejected. I reached out to them, they sent someone right away to fix the issue and during the inspection they sent someone to make sure everything goes smoothly. Ned is a great person. He is very polite and respectful. He replied to me right away every time I reached out to him. Great company to work with.

AC technician Joe Martin came by today and readjusted and dialed-in our AC that was installed last year. He and service manager Steve are knowledgeable, skilled, methodical, and most importantly they are willing to listen to their customers and provide real technical solutions. They are true professionalI and courteous. Originally, last year I worked with Dylan, Install Manager, to verify size our AC unit. Dylan did load calculations and upsized AC unit, but he didn’t stop there. After the unit was installed because new technology, humidity conditions inside the home went up, he listened to my feedback, and made adjustments last August to reduce air flow rate which made indoor conditions better. I observed how AC and furnace performed over the season and gave Dylan again feedback, he again listen and stood by his product and adjusted the system (dialed-in air flow rate). This is truly a well run company, the leadership know what they are doing…when you give them your business, you are just not buying an installation service, you are buying a peace of mind, top down great company. Please keep it up, you are an example of how rest of the world should perform!!!

Had my first experience using this company for a kitchen sink leak. They stayed in touch consistently giving me updates on the techs arrival. When Travis did arrive on a Thursday at 4:30, it was determined I needed a new faucet. We agreed Id pick one up and they would do all they could to quickly get the faucet repair completed the next day. On Thursday at 6PM I called to let them know I had the faucet. Travis installed it at 10:30AM the next day. Everyone I spoke to was friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. They did what they promised to do. The installation cost was fair and reasonable. I highly recommend this company.

Philip Taylor provided excellent ‘above and beyond’ service— cleanliness, speed, quality, price, personalization, innovation, etc. His service convinced us that HVAC Unlimited is our company of choice for future HVAC maintenance and repair. He’s a determined and creative problem solver for sure. During a routine annual maintenance he identified and persisted to resolve system issues (related to another company’s poor installation) and helped us optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of our new-ish HVAC. What’s surprising is that another company that serviced our HVAC last year missed these issues! One of them was a potential safety issue—so thank you PT for protecting our family! It was a quick diagnostic and replacement of ac capacitor for our 10 year old unit. He didnt leave unless he’s sure no leaks after putting the refrigerant.i signed up for a maintenance contract right away after discussing the benefit of it. Albeit there are very few service providers that can work on Convectors. It may be that they have extremely high rate because it is an uncommon system but that does not justify charging extra in my mind.

Absolutely outstanding service. My tenant called me late on Wednesday (12/7/2022) with a no heat problem at my condo in Fairlington. I came in from out of town on Thursday morning (12/8) to see if it was something easily fixed (like a faulty thermostat). After concluding it wasnt something that I could fix or figure out right away, I called Dylan at HVAC around noon to see if they could get someone out that day. He had quoted a new system for me last summer, and I told him I was wanting to limp the old (central electric-only) system through the winter if possible due to plans for a major renovation. He suggested calling their service dispatch center. The nice lady I spoke with said that she would check to see if someone could come out before the end of the day, and called back in a few minutes indicating that they could.Around 4:10 pm, Randy arrived. He understood the mission, and we headed up to the attic to investigate the situation at the air handler. He mentioned that he had never seen one like that before (so old). After taking off the panel to get access to the electrical terminals, he started the electrical probing. During the process, he made several face-time calls to the service manager (Steve) who was helping guide the process. First assessment was that no power was going to the coil wires and the voltage checks on the contactor switch were not as expected. They checked what they thought were the terminals of the heater coils and found them open (burned out). Then as I understand it, Dylan also suggested that they dig a little deeper by loosening up and pulling out the heater pack panel. When they did that and we could look inside, they concluded that the previous check had actually been on the two fusable links. Randy then disconnected the wires going to the two heater coils, and both coils checked out as good! They decided to directly wire up the coils (instead of going through the fusable links which they did not have replacements on the truck), we flipped the switch, and the heater worked!!!! So, now by about 5:15 and after multiple checks and phone calls among the HVAC team, and a temporary fix, we have heat again. Randy took the broken part to see if they could find a replacement. I told him that I would really like to get it done on Friday if possible due to my schedule.Steve called me about mid-day on Friday indicating that they had found substitute fusible link that would work (the old ones was obsolete). Both Steve and Randy arrived separately (Steve had to make a special trip to the supply house and Randy was coming from the opposite direction from another service call) around 4pm on Friday 12/9. They said that they knew that I had to leave town and needed this done that day if possible. They installed the two new fusible links, started up the system, and perfect!; the old system was back up and running.I was really, really, impressed with the responsiveness of everyone involved, willingness and understanding to address my desire to fix this old system to get me over the hump. The problem solving was top notch and made me really happy as I watched it take place in real time. They could have given up and just told me that I needed a new system to fix this old unit (something that I expect would be the case for many inexperienced repair people). This company was recommended to me years ago by a real estate agent that I trust, and she was definitely right. These guys are professionals; I highly recommend them.

I will say that this was originally going to be a one star review but the way that they handled the issues caused by their technician changed my mind about them completely.When they came out to give us a quote the tech and the manager (Rob) were present and said it was extremely simple and straight forward. A tech arrived at our home to install a waterline to our fridge about a month later and it was the worst experience we have had. We dont know what was going on with the technician but he was acting strange and just couldnt get it right. After two large cuts in our drywall and three (YES THREE) holes drilled into our hardwood floors, he called Rob to come out and help him. (just as a side note, one hole was in the hardwood in our living room about five feet away from the fridge and about two feet away from the wall... WTF?) Rob got out and helped install the line. I waited a few days but finally got a response about the holes in my home which they promised to make right. They sent out and paid for a contractor to patch one drywall hole and fix two of the unused holes in my floor. The contractor did a great job and Rob even came by to check if we were happy. They guaranteed that the employee was let go and urged us to give them another chance and I think we will. Any company that takes care of issues and own up to mistakes deserves acknowledgement.

I have used HVAC twice. The first time was for a heater issue and and the second time was for a plumbing issue. Both times the company was responsive and reasonable. The technicians were polite and efficient. The heater issue occurred just before the temperature was expected to dip significantly. HVAC came out the same day. It was the only company willing to come out the same day. Definitely recommend this company.

HVAC Unlimited arrived within 4 hours of my phone request for service -- air was blowing, but it was not cool. Temperature outside was in the 90s, and this apartment is on the top floor. An hour later, the air was nice and cool. My HVAC unit is old. Instead of recommending a complete replacement, the technician got into the unit, which is not easy to access, replaced a part, and added refrigerant, for ONE TENTH the cost of a complete replacement. I am very satisfied and HIGHLY recommend this company!

Found a 3ft water stain on the kitchen ceiling 5 oclock Friday night. Thomas Baker from HVAC and Plumbing Unlimited came out Saturday and found a small wood trim finishing nail had finally made its way to piercing the copper water pipe. Thomas made quick work of the repair and our water was restored. Im a two year customer with HVAC and Plumbing Unlimited. This is a first class company. The technician, Robert, arrived promptly on time after calling to say he was on his way. He covered his shoes to protect the carpet - I have dogs so this wasnt necessary but so good of him. We have Great experience with HVAC Unlimited.We had a problem with the thermostat panel and were not able to switch on the cooling system. The company sent an expert the same day, although it was a holiday. We were informed that the panel should be ordered and installed when received. In an hour the expert came back with the new panel, that was unexpected for us and saved us rescheduling and waiting. It exceeded our expectations - the problem was solved the same day! Chance came late Saturday night to take care of an emergency plumbing problem in my kitchen that occurred while I was away. He is a complete professional and very knowledgeable. He explained everything he would do and how he would do it, placed drop cloths to protect the floor and inside the cabinet where the pipes were, and cleaned up everything before he left. He made sure the kitchen plumbing was working correctly before leaving, and made sure I felt confident that was the case. Its rare to find a technician who goes the extra mile. Chance did, and I will be sure to call on him again if the need arises and recommend him to anyone in need of an A+ plumber.

Bi-annual inspection done through contract with condo management. Although Heating and Air Conditioning unit was found to be in good working order, a small leak in the connecting pipes causing condensation when AC used was found by the certifying technician Robert. He did promise to return to seal the leak that day and true to his word, he returned AFTER he completed his work for the day on the units in the other building. He was knowledgeable, professional and took extra time to answer my questions. I trust his expertise and appreciate his dedication that he did not wait for the next day - or longer.

HVAC & Plumbing Unlimited did a great job redesigning my homes plumbing system and ductwork to be more efficient and cleaner. Ned, Rob, and Wayne were very professional and friendly and talked the project through with me beforehand and during to make sure I received what I wanted. They also checked and fixed a couple of issues that they identified after the project began which were not originally scoped. The day following the project completion there was a small leak, which Chase came out to fix immediately. He also fixed another preexisting problem that my projects construction must have knocked loose, and fixed a faucet aerator he noticed was bad - for free, because came out to finish the previous work.I cannot recommend this company enough for their commitment to quality workmanship. I will use them for all my plumbing and HVAC needs in the future.

Steven W. arrived on time, with the right tools, equipment, and supplies. 3. He even had a filter for my humidifier which I did not know was needed. Let me explain, thinking that my builder installed HVAC air cleaner consisted of an air ionizer cleaning system, I had not changed the filter nor checked it. Thanks to Steve W.’s attentiveness we checked the filter finding it to be well beyond its life and filthy. 4. Thankful he had a filter in his truck and installed it. Now we have clean air and proper humidity levels in our home. I highly recommend this company.

Outstanding Service from beginning to end - you guys rock! It stated out with our service tech, Steve, who originally made a strong case for a new installation and coordinated Dylon’s visit to explain what HVAC-Unlimited could for us. Dylon was very professional, knowledgeable as well as attentive to our needs. He provided several options based on our requirements and did it in a very positive way. On the day of install, Trin, the install lead, was really amazing. The entire deinstallation and removal of the existing water heater and HVAC system was seamless and well coordinated. Trin and his team did a fantastic job. After installation, the clean up was quick and thorough. Post install Trin went over the operation of the new thermostat, both the hot water heater and the HVAC and gave us plenty of time to ask questions and gain an understand of the new systems. After the team left, Trin even called back to ensure that the both systems were operating correctly and if we had any final question. Both my wife and I really appreciated that attention to detail and customer service. The overall process was quick, easy to understand and both my wife and I really appreciate the professionalism of the HVAC-Unlimited team from the team in the office to the service techs and installers in the trucks! Recently I called HVAC and Plumbing Unlimited because I wasn’t receiving enough hot water. Robert came out and inspected my 50 gallon water heater. He explained that the heater was in good working order. He took his time to explain to me that the hot water demand was too much for my size water heater. He provided me with a few options and gave me his proffesional recommendation. I decided to install a tankless water heater so that my family never runs out of hot water. He quoted me a price and I was pleasantly surprised thinking I would have to pay much more. The office arranged a time for it to be installed and Robert was on time so I didn’t spend my day waiting for service. Robert and his colleagues worked diligently and the final product shows a level of craftsmanship that exceeded my expectations. The experience was 5 star from the moment I called HVAC Unlimited. The office staff was efficient and polite. Robert was on time, wore shoe covers, was not pushy when he gave me my options, he didn’t rush through our appointment, and the final product looks and works fantastically. Ronny arrived on schedule, in CDC compliant gear checking and working on thermostat and outside unit until it was working 30 min later. relief!
