Tristan from Roto-Rooter came to my house this morning. He, as a technician, did great at addressing my problems! However, the consensus about Roto-Rooter’s management setting extremely high prices is, unfortunately, very true. Their listed price to install a new kitchen faucet was $600 (including the $200 price of the faucet) - simply ridiculous. Fortunately, his recommendations were simple enough that I forewent any services, and simply paid the $60 assessment fee. I will install the kitchen faucet myself.They also mentioned to me that coupons were available! However, I don’t know for what discount. Be sure to ask before you pay!

We had Joe, one of their technicians come out to our place in Ionia after two other big local companies told us opposite advice and wanted us to destroy two other neighbor properties to dig out a broken sewer tile. Called Joe, he got a cutter snake and camera 245 feet into our line (its crazy long for residential, we know) and cleared the belly, discovered the problem, and got our pipes back to running! Joe was absolutely outstanding to work with, and I will never use another company for my sewer. When the van left, my wife and I were walking through the house, fists in the air, chanting Joe! Joe! Joe! Joe! Haha. Yes, they cost a bit more than the local guys, but now I dont have to pay to replace 245 feet of sewer, my neighbors driveway, a shed, 2 thousand-year-old oak trees, 20 Rose of Sharon bushes, my retaining wall, etc. 10/10 would recommend!

Deontae and Bruce were exceptional. They completed installation of a new sink in our basement, and were able to come within 24 hours of our call. We appreciate very much their courtesy, professionalism, and timeliness.Adam was also amazing. We had a drain clog; Adam quickly diagnosed the issue and repaired it, taking the time to show me what happened, and even offering some tips on how to prevent clogs related to kitchen sink drainage. He was great, and were grateful for his help.

My sump pump stopped working and my basement flooded. I called 3 other plumbers with either no response or no availability. Rooter helped me and scheduled an appointment immediately. Max showed up within 2 hours of me making the call. He was professional, courteous, and a bit of a comedian to boot. He got the pump working to get the water out of the basement and then replaced the pump with a new one so that it wouldn’t cut out on me again. I would highly recommend Rooter in the future especially in a pinch. And thanks again for all your help, Max!

Had problems with main sewer line going to city line. Called and they came out same day. Other than the expense, nearly $400 , job was done and backed by return trip if necessary. Week later, clogged again. No charge. Keeping fingers crossed as return is a one time freebie. Real review is for the technician, Steve, he was awesome. Helped out more than expected. Great employee and deserves this review.

I called about a clogged toilet that we tried to auger and snake, but we needed the industrial sized snake. The receptionist was extremely pleasant and I was able to book an appointment for the next day. Chuck was my plumber. He was very professional and quick. He even cleaned the toilet when he was done. There is no complaint in regards to customer service. One complaint would be price, but with the great service and quick availability I wasnt upset with it. I tried another place, but they couldnt come out to fix it for at least 3 days. I would highly recommend.

Our technician was very friendly and knowledgeable about our situation. He was able to unclog our laundry drain and gave us a few directions to try and prevent a back up again. He was also honest that we may need a bigger repair later down the road due to our house being older. It was nice to have someone honest about the situation and not lie and state that this will work 100%. I thought it was a little pricey of a charge but it was fixed quick and the technician was very friendly so I was okay with the charge now that I can do laundry again. I would recommend!Wanted to add to this. Our washer ended up over-flowing the next day and I requested a partial refund although I did have a 6 month promise to come back BUT we did not want to make the technician drive 1.5 hours back to us as we thought it was not necessary. When I spoke with customer service they were quite rude that I did not want to send someone out again I just did not find it necessary. Issue was never resolved and we spent a lot of money on that service

Some roots grew through my pipe and clogged us out to the street. I called several plumbers in the area and nobody was able to see any sooner than 48 hours. I called Roto-Rooter and someone was out here within just a few hours. He worked quick, cleaned the roots out, and even inspected the line to see how bad the damage was. Once he saw that the drain was in pretty good shape, he didnt try to push any additional services. It was affordable, and the staff was friendly and personable.

I had my toilet and tub backing up into my bathroom whenever we used them, as well as every time I washed clothes. RotoRooter came out, used the auger and after three times, everything seemed to be flowing well. Less than a week later, the exact same thing happened. The same guy, Bruce, came out and determined (with my dad) that I had a leak under my mobile home. It was in a horrible location, but Bruce fixed the rubber gasket and my drains and toilet are working perfectly again!! I’m so thankful that I chose this company!

The sump pump in our finished basement died after 17 long years of service. This happened during the winter during a time when it warmed up enough to have all the snow melt causing our sump pump to work harder than normal. After calling around and looking at company reviews, I selected Roto-Rooter because of their strong Google review ratings. My experience was the same. Upon calling they were very friendly and immediately dispatched Bruce to come out...this was in the late afternoon and I didnt expect immediate service. Bruce was very friendly upon arrival and did a good job detailing the work and new sump pump options. The work was performed and the new sump pump was operating in less than an hour. I was very pleased with responsiveness and quality of work.

Our technician Arthur took excellent care of us today! I was only going to do an estimate today but he came in at our budget with his recommendations so we just had him do the work while he as there, and did a great job finding and resolving the problem. He even took extra time to clean things out extra well to make sure everything would continue to work well for a while. He was super knowledgeable about the drainage system in our older house and took the time to explain things to me as I asked ALL the questions, always with a kind and super patient manner. He also provided tips to help us maintain some stuff that we can do on our own (and probably should have been doing this whole time). And he was great with our dog and the neighbor’s dog who decided he was a nice guy too. If we ever need service in the future we will be asking for Arthur!

Our toilet was not going down and it was 7:00 after hours. When I called I was able to talk to an actual person which is rare now a days. They gave me a time of 9-11pm when the service person would show up and he showed up an hour early which was great. Josh was nice and very courteous with wiping his feet and keeping our house as clean as he could while he worked. He went right to work and kept us up to date on everything he was doing. He worked quickly and at the end knocked off $90 for toilet removal on our bill which was greatly appreciated. I will definitely call again for any plumbing service I need.

Todd was my technician and is just an amazingly nice guy, that really has the customers best interest in mind -- Genuine, professional and thorough.I had an interesting case with an old house with weird plumbing, when our first attempts didnt fix everything I hoped it it would - Rick (the head guy) and Todd came out personally and worked to trouble shoot the problem until it was all figured out. They didnt even charge me for the extra work.We had some unforeseen issues pop-up, but Rick, Todd and Mark made things right and were very fair with me.You can probably get work done cheaper (as theres always someone), but if you want the work done fast, right and want a team you can count on to not take advantage of you if something goes wrong, Id absolutely recommend the Roto-Rooter team in Lansing.

After the fact, I found out that the price we were charged was 2 to 3 times of other plumbers. That sucked, BUT they WERE the only ones that could get us in the day I called, and they did an excellent job.

Our plumber Todd was awesome! We were having issues with leaking in our kitchen sink. He came by, decked out in a mask and gloves because of the current COVID-19 pandemic. He reviewed all of the situation, and he gave us an honest assessment before suggesting how he could fix the problem. I was confident that he was doing the right thing to correct the issue quickly and accurately. He had to leave to collect the proper parts needed, and returned promptly to finish fixing our sink. He went the extra mile by going into our basement to ensure there was no mold or water damage from the leak we experienced. I especially appreciate the warranty on the work that Roto-Rooter performs! It is really helpful to know that someone with the right skills is handling things that I cannot take care of myself.

He went right to work cutting the old galvanized pipe. The job took longer than expected but Bryan wanted it done right. He made sure that I understood each phase of the work. He was thorough and professional.Adam arrived 30 minutes after I called, at 6:30 Friday evening. He immediately assessed the need for a new water heater. Adam worked steadily for the next few hours to remove the old and install the new water heater. He was thorough and professional. He definitely earned 5 stars.

He called and asked if he could come a little earlier and I was thrilled. He came and diagnosed the problem at minimal cost. Considering it was 3 days before Christmas and my money was tight, I thought he was a gift from God.

He assessed the issue, told me the price, which I agreed upon, he went to get the right truck since he didnt come out with the jetter truck, and got to work. He laid down tarps and used his own stuff - unlike other plumbers who asked me if I had towels, buckets, etc, and after finishing the work, he cleaned everything up. All I had to do was put my stuff back where I had it.

It turns out our garbage disposal developed a hole in the back where we couldnt see it. It came to light on Thanksgiving Day while cleaning up dishes for our 13 dinner guests! I called Guthries/Roto-Rooter the next morning (Friday). Rachel answered and was very friendly and said she would have someone out there that same afternoon. I was expecting to schedule an appointment for the following Monday (at best). Josh, the technician came out and was very friendly and courteous. We needed a new disposal, needless to say, and he didnt have the one we wanted on his truck, so my husband dashed to Home Depot to pick one up while he waited. Josh re-routed some hoses and pipes in the back of the sink that were getting in the way of the sprayer hose in the meantime. Home Depot didnt have the right disposal in stock. The technician said that he would come back the next morning, to allow us time to go to the other side of town to get the disposal from another store. He was back when he said he would be the next morning and installed the disposal. We were very happy with the service. Notwithstanding the return trip the next day and the brief wait at our house the night before, I would have to say that I felt that the hourly rate was pretty high making the total for a garbage disposal replacement a pretty costly ordeal. But, in the end, the promptness in service and convenience of having the job done right was probably worth it.

Our sewer lines were plugged, so we knew we needed a good, affordable Plumber.Roto-Rooter in Lansing was my number 1 choice.Upon calling, and talking to them, I quickly realized that Roto Rooter was a great choice.Even on a Saturday, within 2 hours, there was a technician in my house working on my clog.The technician was very friendly, and knew exactly what the cause of my problem was.The best part: when he left, my lines were clear, and my bank didnt take a HUGE hit.

Day 1: Called with frozen sewer pipe. Was able to send someone out to check it out. Technician John showed up and was very friendly and informative. However the person that took the phone call didnt fully inform him of the issue and had to come back the next day with more equipment to hydro jet the line.Day 2: Technicians showed up to jet the line, very friendly. Tried but could not get the main line thawed. Recommended a clean out be put in when they come back tomorrow. Paid for jetting.Day 3: Clean out was put in, but there was not enough time to do the jetting again that day, so jetting was scheduled again for the next day. Paid for clean out.Day 4: Finally jetting happened and pipe was finally clear!!! Paid for jetting.Final thoughts, technicians were all very friendly and informative. I got many updates from the main office about when people would be there. But the scheduler wasn’t able to tell me when people would be able to be there until the next day. Would have been a little better if i knew what time they would be able to be there earlier. Overall good experience with the technicians. Glad that they kept with it to finally get my sewer flowing again :)

Caleb came to my house on time and was very professional. He tried many ways to unclog our drain and eventually got it. No wonder the drain cleaners I used didnt work as he said the clog was pretty bad and hard to get to. He stayed long enough to see if it was fixed by running the water and letting the washing machine drain. I was very happy to hear there is an included 1 month warranty because it just seems like everything is breaking right now. Now we can use the dish washer, washing machine, and sink at the same time without fear of our basement flooding.

I had a large leak under my tub for months. It was coming from my drain pipe and was filling up a small hole where all of my tub plumbing was inside of my clothes closet in my bedroom. Every single time I would walk into the closet to get my clothes, I would be reminded of this leak by the musty smell in the air. It created a stress that sat with me every day. A constant reminder of a problem my house had that I felt I didnt have the time or money to fix. I got one quote from a different company which required tearing up my newly laid tile floor and digging down to replace the old drain pipes. It was 6000 dollars! Talk about a kick in the you know where. I called Roto-Rooter and they set up an appointment. They ended up sending two of the most amazing guys out to my house. Great people, one a National Guard soldier. Which I appreciated, because I am prior military myself. They disassembled all of the plumbing and realized it was an old pipe just slid into a larger pipe and it was leaking from that. They ended up sliding a new pvc 3 inches or so in and packing water-proof cement around it to seal it. Needless to say this worked like a charm. My shower is now longer leaking, my stress is gone and they saved me 5400 dollars. The total cost of the repair was $611 dollars so about 10 times under the other quoted price and I didnt have to tear up my new tile floor. I will say right now, I highly recommend this company for all of your drain needs. They are amazing along every step of the way.

This company was amazing. Scheduled online at night, received phone call fromMelissa next morning. Mike was out on time, gave me straight forward pricing. Ordered the work, found bigger issues close to our main city sewer drain. Mike got missdig and permits ready to start digging the next morning. Super cold outside and they found the problem, resolved the problem to code,and all is well. There wont be another plumber I call. Fair, reasonable cost, exemplary service, and they are local.
