    Second time Tom came out to house. First time was for main drain to road. Explained what I could do to help with roots in line. Others had only cleaned but never offered any type of solution for root issue. His price was much lower than prior plumber I had used numerous times in past.Just came out to fix slow running kitchen and bath drain. Kitchen drain is now fully opened and empty’s very fast. Was able to get bathroom to drain faster but explained why it was slow. (No vent hole in sink thus no vent to help )Tom is very knowledgeable in his work and I will definitely use again!

    Could not recommend Tom enough. Very personable guy and all of the work was quick and efficient. Price was significantly better than the competition. Others I’ve talked to had the same experience and their eyes lit up when I mentioned Tom Allen.We had a main sewer line back up after roots got into the pipe. Nightmare of a time where we had to call a different company for an emergency snaking to temporarily unclog our system while we cleaned the bathroom and adjacent carpet one night after work. That company provided quotes for more permanent solutions and truly made us panic with how much we expected a fix to cost. Tom thankfully called us back after I left a voicemail and was familiar with the previous company and quickly alleviated concerns and fixed everything in the next couple days.The work was quick - Tom checked a couple things out on a Monday, called Miss Dig and handled everything permit related, came out that Wednesday morning, and was done by lunch. He even was nice enough to take some of the leftover stacks of wood the township previously left in our yard after cutting some trees down. He’s a good guy and does good work - trust him.

    I was referred to Tom Allen through a different plumber, and I am so happy with the referral - shout out to Roger the Plumber for the referral!My main sewage drain was clogged and I needed it to be scoped and cleaned. Tom was available to come on Monday morning (I had called on Friday) and got there right at 9 am to begin working. He also told me the price up front before he started the work so there were no surprises.He got to work scoping the drain line, and had me come down to the basement to look at the camera with him while he told me about how my clay pipes had shifted and there were now bellies in the pipe and the pipes were leaking due to them not being sealed anymore. He was able to pinpoint exactly where the bellies were, and advised me of next steps.He was extremely knowledgeable and reassuring throughout the entire visit. As a young homeowner, I did not know what the next steps were, seeing as my clay pipes were pretty busted. Tom recommended Rick Hubble from Hubble Construction come out and take a look at the pipes and come up with a game plan for new PVC pipe installation. Tom had a glowing recommendation of Rick, but even with that recommendation he still continued to say youre the boss, you make the call. Tom made a call and within 20 minutes Rick was at my house providing a quote. Rick is also very awesome, but Ill save that for the Hubble Construction review I plan to write.I didnt feel pushed at all to pay for things that werent necessary, and I felt that Tom truly had my best interest at heart. He has a very protective dad vibe about him, so I would definitely recommend him to anyone, but especially people who need some plumbing help and their dad either doesnt know anything about plumbing or isnt around to call. I couldnt say enough good things about him - highly highly recommend!

    I was recommended Tom Allen by a friend who had used his service for her sewer drain. I have had issues with my driveway drain backing up from the smallest amount of rain for the entire 18 months Ive lived in my house, but dreaded calling someone to look at it in case it was an expensive fix. I called Tom on Monday and he scheduled me for Tuesday morning! So prompt, straightforward, told me up front what it would cost (much less than I was dreading), and called me with an update when he was wrapping up the job. He also explained the problem, what type of drain I have, and how to help avoid/reduce the problem in the future. Very happy with the result!

    I had a back up in my new home (first time home owner). Allen’s was the first to call me back even on a holiday. He was very professional in helping me with what I would need via phone and setting up an appointment for the very next morning. He came in did his thing and the back up is gone!     This is a great company. He is a one man show I believe. Shows up on time, does a great job. Very nice. Also a vet and served. I highly recommend if your drain is plugged. Cost 80$ to rent a drain machine and have to pick it up, do it and drop back off. It better to just let him do it. I cant move the machine down the basement stairs by myself. He is big and strong.

    Ive worked with Tom a couple times in the past few years and am always so impressed with his prompt responses and flexibility with my schedule.     Tom Allen was amazing. I had a flood in my basement due to a clogged sewer pipe and called a bigger company who wouldn’t even give me a ballpark estimate over the phone. All they would tell me is that they would charge me $75 to send someone out to give me an estimate. I called Tom he gave me an estimate over the phone ranging from lowest cost to highest depending on repairs needed. He then got me in the next day! He was knowledgeable and gave me a lot of information about what happened, how I can keep it from happening, and what to plan for in the future and an estimate so I could make an informed plan. He was even cheaper than his original quotes! I will recommend Tom to everyone. He is phenomenal!

    100% recommend this company. 9 days before our wedding, our sewage line was backing up into our house. Tom came over the next day to attempt to snake our line and found that is was impassable. He quoted us an extremely fair price and was able to repair the pipes 3 days after his initial inspection. He had the project completed for us within a few hours and was professional, knowledgeable and incredibly kind through the entire process. If you want a true professional to work on the plumbing in your home, call Tom Allen! He will be my plumber every time moving forward!!

    Ive had my drain cleaned by several different companies in the past and this was by far the best experience. I called on a Sunday and left a message. Two hours later he called me back to schedule and could get me in the following morning (this was not yet an emergency). Tom was so friendly not only did I feel comfortable inviting him in my home, but I would recommend him to anyone! Very professional and affordable.

    If youre reading google reviews about plumbers in the Lansing area, chances are youre not having a very good day. If you want your plumbing issue done right and done well I highly recommend calling Allens Plumbing. Tom Allen is a professional in every sense of the word. He is knowledgeable, hard working, and goes above and beyond to make things right.Ive had to call Tom on two separate occasions (for two different reasons) and hes done a fantastic job each time. Most recently, I called him about an issue and he was there fixing it within the hour. He fixed the main issue and two other non-emergency issues I asked him about while he was there in about an hour. I cannot recommend him highly enough.You wont go wrong hiring Tom. Hes the real deal. If I could rate higher than five stars, I would.

We had quite a nightmare with a broken pipe that ended up being the City of Lansings responsibility, and Tom Allen was our biggest advocate.     I had a great experience with Tom Allen! The first company (roto rooter) came to our house tried to snake the drain but failed and we still had to pay a crazy amount. Tom came in and got the job DONE for half the price! Tom also gave us advice on how to keep the pipes flowing until we can afford to get a new pipe put in. Definitely recommend his company. Very reasonably priced, nice and knows what hes doing.

    I was having problems with my drains backing up into my basement. i called around and got many different prices. some lower some higher but all outrageous for what i wanted done. i was told about Toms business and was very pleased at the prices quoted to me. He was very polite and prompt. when he said he would be there at 10:00am he was there at 10:00am.He was very knowledgeable and explained everything along the way.     I cant say enough good things about Tom Allen!!! We have had plumbing issues this week and had trouble getting a plumber out quickly to address the issue. Tom answered the phone when we called and was at our house in about an hour! The full sewer line needed replacing - which is expensive - but Tom gave us a great deal, did an awesome job, and kept every promise he made! Save yourself the time and stress, and just call Tom. Reasonable cost, exceptional work!

    01/31/13 -- I had Tom come out again today to reclean the sewer drain as he had suggested the last time he was here, and again the service was EXCELLENT! Tom has the utmost professional demeanor and helped me formulate a plan for some other work that needs to be done in my home. I trust all of his recommendations for future people to work with, and what he suggests to do with my home. He took a look at some other issues I was having with the shower and sink and was able to fix those as well! I will continue to use Tom for ALL my future plumbing!I had a backup in my sewer drain, and called Tom after seeing the many positive reviews for him online. His price was far more reasonable than the competition, and his service was impeccable. He was able to properly diagnose the issue, and fixed it in a matter of minutes.     Tom Allen is a rarity. I had a previous handyman at my house install tile flooring. He used the kitchen sink to dispose the grout which caused some issues yikes!!     Our whole bathroom was flooded and water was backing up into our bathtub and toilet.     I had a backed up drain from the washing machine and the kitchen sink. I had no idea of a good plumber to call so I began my search on Google. I found Allens Sewer & Drain and was very happy to read all of the positive reviews so I gave them a call. Tom was very nice on the phone and was able to catch me on my lunch break at home to do the work for me the very next day. He took the time to explain everything he was doing and why things were going the way they were at my house and fixed everything within a half hour. He only charged me $95! I paid $189 from another company just a year before and they never even fixed what I asked them to do. Tom is one of the good guys. He isnt out there to rip anyone off and you can tell he is happy to help people out. His reviews on Google are enough reason to try him out.

    When my laundry room drain became clogged, Tom Allen was able to schedule me the next day. He showed up right on time, a little early in fact, and resolved my issue quickly and professionally.     We had a sewer and drain problem for 7 months which had been unsuccessfully addressed by two other businesses. We were told by one of the companies that there was a break in our drain line and we would have to tear up the outside concrete above the drain line and then replace the drain line. We then contacted our plumber to see if he had any suggestions. He recommended Allens Sewer and Drain. We could not have been more pleased. After pulling our toilet, Tom Allen used a camera devise in our drain line and discovered a major blockage. Tom determined a large tap root had penetrated our drain. He drilled through the tap root, removed it and fully opened the drain line. His rate for his work was very reasonable and we would without question recommend his services.

    Had some issues with my toilets, bubbles and another toilet not filling up with water. Called Mr. Allen based on the enormous amount of positive reviews. Told him my issue, told me he could make it out to my home in about an hour. He showed up in that time, quoted a price way below what was expected and performed the repair. He was friendly and courteous. Even told my husband how to do the repair in case the repair is needed in the future. Will definitely refer and call again.

    Tom Allen needs to be your first call for any drain issues. Hes a super friendly, super efficient ex-marine and self-described drain specialist.I woke up to water backing up in the basement and called Tom based on reviews. Even though he was extremely busy and in the middle of another job when I called, he said he could be at my house in an hour. He showed up exactly an hour later and had things cleared up within 30 minutes, maybe less. His prices are great and Tom is the kind of guy you dont mind inviting into your home. I will defintely be calling him the next time I have drain problems.

    Look no further for drain cleaning and/or repair!! I cant say enough good things about Tom Allen and his business. His prices, professional conduct and quality of work stand alone in the greater Lansing area as far as Im concerned... and Ive dealt with the full spectrum of drain cleaners in the last few years, from the most well known in the area (2 come to mind) to the craigslist snake dudes.Short story: I called Allens Sewer & Drain Cleaning to clear and video a partially blocked clay tile main line which ended up needing replacement with PVC. I couldnt be happier with Tom, his prices or his conduct.Long Story: I own a home with lots of trees on site and a (formerly) clay tile main line that Ive had snaked annually by a variety of people over the last 6 years in the house. After repeated issues within the month of Nov and Dec 2016 I called Tom after a google search turned up all the positive reviews youre reading. Maybe I just got lucky but he was able to come over later that same day to clear and video/TV the main line. He was very friendly and showed up as promised on schedule. After dealing with so many professional and semi-professional drain folks over the past 6 years I was impressed at the high quality gear he brought over, considering the price he quoted. After clearing the line via basement clean-out he narrated the video exploration of my drain and it was visibly obvious that the clay tiles had reached the end of their service life - a combination of tree roots and failure of the line itself (almost 70 years, not too bad!). We discussed replacement options and I was lucky to find that the excavation crew with whom he usually works was able to squeeze me in the next morning. We kept putting off this replacement because of the anticipated cost and trouble but maybe it was just fate (or at least good fortune) delaying us until I stumbled across Tom Allen. The cost was about half what we had anticipated and took a little over a day from when he walked in the door to when the trench was back-filled.THANKS AGAIN TO ALLENS SEWER & DRAIN CLEANING!!     We had them come out to our house a few weeks ago to clean out our laundry room drain because every time we did laundry the drain would overflow and we would end up with a bunch of water all over our laundry room floor. It was a mess. I called the day before and ask if there was anyway they could come the next day and they did! They were right on time and were very nice, they even were very considerate about not tracking snow and dirt in throughout my house.     Toms pricing is very reasonable and he does a great job. I called to Tom clean out my main sewer line, which backed up only a few weeks after another plumber cleared it. The other plumber told me there was probably a bend in the line to the sewer, and that I should flush more often to keep it open. Using a camera, Tom discovered a broken check valve in the line just a few feet from the access point. The port to the check valve was hidden, but Tom easily found it, and after we uncovered it he opened it up and removed the check valve. His price was significantly less than Roto-Rooter and he provides the same services. I will definitely call him again.

    Tom is the bomb. 32 yrs experience. Came in my house and diagnosed the issue(backed up sewer) and immediately gave me a quote, which is way below other competitors.     Allens Plumbing is a rare breed of housing contractor. I noticed standing water in the sewer drain and called for help. He called me back after 5 the same day (it was even a holiday) and suggested that he clean it out to first to see if that would fix the issue.     Tom Allen was prompt, professional, knowledgeable and honest, and did a fast job assessing the drain problem at my house and fixing it. I was really impressed. He also assessed a couple of other plumbing and drain issues around the house and recommended course of action (in one case do nothing; in another, replace shutoff values and consider bringing the garbage disposal into the 21st century). I will definitely hire Tom again.

    Called them for a clogged tub. Set up a time for the next day, and apparently they had their hands full, so they were a little late, but not terribly. They were both very friendly and focused when they got there, got the job done in about 15 minutes and went off to the next. When I called, I was given a ballpark amount to expect to pay, and wasnt surprised with anything more than that. They dont accept plastic; cash or check only, but it wasnt an issue since I knew what to expect.
