The electric pole running from the electric meter to the roof line pulled away from my home on a Saturday evening. Chris came out to make all the necessary repairs as soon as he could. He updated me on his ETA after having to make an extra stop for necessary supplies. He stayed to make sure there were no issues after KUB restored power which was a good thing since a part was cracked while everything was reconnected. I would not have known to question them about the issue if he had not been there.

5-STAR SERVICE!! I called Pat Murphy (after seeing the trucks around town) to resolve an “open ground” issue with a basement outlet circuit. Zak and Terrance did an AMAZING job diagnosing the issue (no, not just a loose ground wire), but found a safe, quality, and economical solution that restore this home circuit to code. By adding the GFCI outlet next to a bathroom sink, and resolving the “open ground” mis-wiring issue, this circuit is now safe.I wanted to thank Suzanne in the Atlanta office for the expert scheduling and dispatch of these guys, working with their Knoxville office. We almost had a scheduling conflict, but Suzanne and the Knoxville dispatcher (Jeff? Sorry if I missed your name) quickly devoted their company loyalty, pride, and teamwork to keep the appointment. (I’ll refer you to friends/family in Atlanta, GA area).Their safety behaviors and professionalism (through job completion and clean-up) were best of the best. It was amazing to watch the teamwork of Zak and Terrance through troubleshooting, solution identification, correction, and job completion clean-up... all within the time allotted for the service call.I work in the Nuclear industry and given the safety behaviors, work quality, diagnostic proficiency, and schedule/budget I saw yesterday - I’d be happy to work with these guys myself. Thank you for making my house safer for my family yesterday. You have my highest recommendation and stand by the work you did for me yesterday.See the $5 circuit tester in the picture below from Home Depot? We have had a covered deck with ceiling fans that weren’t working for several years. It’s the only light out there so we couldn’t use our deck in the dark. We had several electricians look at it and I guess it was not straight forward to fix. So we got crazy estimates that sometimes required thousands of dollars of carpentry work to re run wiring. Luckily we ran into Chris who said he would take a look at it. Chris was awesome - super smart guy- who figured out an elegant simple solution to use an existing light space/ receptacle (I don’t know what it’s called) and run the wiring there. Now we have beautiful fans and can enjoy our outdoor space. Work was all done on time, no issues or problems.

I just bought a condo and my electric started going on the fritz. I had already had an electrician out who was unable to figure out the issue. Next, I had someone from Pat Murphy come and check it out. The technician tracked down the problem and showed me what was going on so that I was knowledgeable of the issue at hand. A huge job ensued- replacing my entire outdoor panel. It was not just for my condo but also for the three condos attached to mine since the system was old. To get mine up and running again it required lots of people and lots of coordinated timing. With less than a week before Christmas, they had a full crew out here taking care of it. Over six hours of work they did. The price was fair, I didn’t feel like I had to fight anyone to get things done. They took an experience that could have been horrible for a first time home buyer and made it a good experience. Everyone was kind and professional. I never once questioned their authority or expertise; they knew what needed to be done so that I had electrical service again.

I needed emergency service due to half of my house being without power. The electrician came in and explained that he was going to start with a diagnostic test, and gave me a price before he looked at my issue. We agreed on the price, and he found the problem in a matter minutes. Since he found the problem quickly he dropped the level and price of the diagnostic. The same problem happened a few weeks later, and they came out at 10:00 at night, found and fixed the problem at no charge. The first visit repair warranty covered the second visit. AWESOME JOB!!

I called Pat Murphy Electric to come to our new to us home in Halls we purchased in April. It was originally built in 1955 but had recently been renovated. Some of the renovations were a bit sketchy, mostly sloppy painting. My big problem was that I had a ceiling fan/light fixture and a ceiling light in a closet. Neither worked. Joshua showed up when promised and found the problem which was shoddy wiring by whoever did the renovations. Joshua fixed them both and suggest that some wiring in the attic be redone as it wasnt up to code. I couldnt be more happy with their work. Give them a go, they do great work.

They saved our house. Recently, we loss power to a couple of lights in one of our room, but couldnt figure out how to get them back on because we couldnt see which switch to reset on the Electric Panel to get the lights to work again. We called Pat Murphy Electric and they sent Devin and John out. They diagnose the problem with faulty wiring on an outside outlet and showed us the BLACKen cover over the outlet. Yikes! Also, a bit before we discovered that the lights didnt work we smelled something burning but didnt know where it was coming from, and didnt make a connection to the burnt outlet since we didnt know about it. DO NOT IGNORE BURNING SMELL. Any case, when Devin looked at our original Electric Panel, he pointed out how some of the wiring on it would not meet todays safety codes and how this should be fixed. It really was a mess. After some discussion, we accepted Devins suggestion to replace the whole Electrical Panel, fix the non-compliant code wiring, and proper labeling for each switch. This was an unexpected expense for us and it wasnt cheap. However, its better than having our house burn down or worrying about this happening. We scheduled a date and time for Devin and John to come back to do the work. They coordinated the work with the Electric Utility Company. They came back when promised and got the job expertly done - took most of the day. They were professional, courteous, and took their time in explaining things to us. I will not hesitate to recommend Pat Murphy Electrics to others and they will be on our list of approved vendor for any future work. I hope that Pat Murphy will give Devin and John a bonus for representing the company so well. They are trustworty and good men. Thank you for doing such a great job for us. We really appreciate it. Keep up the good work!
