I signed up with John H. Coleman for the Core program to maintain my units. I had a possible issue with one of my mini-splits freezing up (someone had turned it down too cool). The technician (Wayne Maples) came out and gave it a thorough look over and was so helpful explaining what the cause was an told me the unit was fine. I appreciated his professional and friendly approach. Glad Im with a locally owned and operated company I can count on.

My compressor went out recently and had to be replaced. The person who diagnosed the problem did not do the repair. I hired Coleman for the job. My technicians were CHRIS and COOPER who are incredible and super nice guys and did a terrific job with my repair. They first attempted to make sure it was a compressor problem, which could save me some money and time. Once they had checked every other possibility it was, unfortunately, the compressor. They had spent an hour but I knew that changing the part would probably be a six hour job. They started around 11:30 and worked until around 7:00. The sun was on the side of the house as the unit, it was really sunny that day and the temperature got up to 92-93 degrees and at one time the feel like temperature was 99. I did not hear either one of them complain one time about how hot it was - although I was dying inside during the repair as it rose to 92 degrees inside before they were finished. I was so impressed with their work, I bought one of their maintenance plans. If all of the employees are anywhere as great as Chris and Cooper I wouldnt hesitate for a second to hire them again. Needless to say, after spending a week staying at a hotel because of the hear, I now have a perfectly comfortable, well functioning unit and Im sleeping in my own bed. Thanks again guys!

He goes above and beyond the call of service, his work is great, and his dedication to his work is incredible. I cannot express how thankful we have had to have him working on our project with us. Coleman installed two new HVAC systems for our house in West Knox, and they replaced the ducts in their entirety. Josh, Jacob, and Joshua did an amazing job. The entire experience was positive; workers wear uniform shirts, workers are knowledgeable and share their knowledge when I asked questions, work is done in a way that minimizes inconvenience, final installation works as intended, workers clean up and leave the property looking like it did when they arrived.Based on my experience, I have no reservations in recommending Coleman.

This review is for the install, which was very professionally handled. Josh and Franklin did a great job. They were prompt and thorough and we are delighted to have cool air again after living in the heat for nearly 2 weeks. Can’t say much for the long term satisfaction yet (the HVACs were just installed), but the initial process of installation was smooth and satisfactory.

Ehsan Alqaisi was my repair man, and he was wonderful! Sometimes having a repair man come over when you are the only person in the house can be a little intimidating, but Ehsan was so polite, kind, and knowledgeable. He knew exactly how to diagnose the problem of my heating not turning on and was able to fix it within the same day. He also is just extremely nice and loving to talk to so he is great company to have around while he is in your home. I highly encourage everyone to request him to help you with any of your HVAC problems.

The repairman, Chris Monaghen, was friendly but very professional.He was able to get it running and gave an estimated time (which was accurate) that my house should fully cool down.The heat wouldn’t turn on when it was cold a few days later. Chris came back out, recognized there was a wire issue from his previous visit, took care of it at no charge and was extremely apologetic. The installers did a good job in poor conditions (it was raining). The only problem was no one had told them that everything had been payed for in advance. Consequently they wanted to charge us again. We had to dig out our paperwork to prove that all of the work had been payed for in advance. The company wanted their money a week before the installation. I am always reluctant to pay before the product and work is completed. But, we were going through Costco and thought there would not be a problem.

I would like to comment on the incredible service that my wife and I received from John H. Coleman Co. We recently bought a home in west Knoxville. While we were out of town our HVAC system and our water heater had a back up and leaked from our attic into our second and first floor. We were in need of immediate assistance. We called John H. Coleman Co and within several hours we had someone at our home. My 5 star review is not only because of the promptness of their response time but also in the quality of their work. We needed assistance both with our HVAC and also our hot water heater. They provided us both services and within a couple days we were back in business. I would like to recognize Nathan from the plumbing side of their business. I told him we were driving back to Knoxville from NY and he made it a point to have a new tankless system installed the next day. I am writing this review at 9:30 pm just after saying thank you and good bye to Nathan for a job well done. There are many different reasons to love Knoxville, but for me there is nothing that beats the people!!! Thank you John C Coleman Co for providing us with a cool house and hot water. I had two issues with my HVAC system. The system was directing too much airflow to our master bedroom suite, causing a significant temperature difference vs. the rest of the house. The Coleman technician evaluated the system and installed a damper in the line supplying air to the master suite. Also, the two outdoor units appeared not to have been maintained properly prior to our purchase of the home. The Coleman technician performed a significant cleaning of the outdoor units and discovered a fan motor that was on its last legs, which Coleman replaced. Very much appreciate the detailed evaluation of our overall system and the attention to detail on maintenance and repair.UPDATE...December 2023 - as luck would have it, the damper installed in our HVAC system about 6 months ago was installed in the wrong location. This time, two Coleman technicians - DJ and Chris - came out, figured out the problem, installed dampers in multiple ducts, and checked out all the resulting airflows. The system is operating much better now. Many thanks to DJ and Chris!

They have also fixed multiple issues with our two furnaces that were installed by other companies including redoing exhaust pipes. These guys are the best.

While we often have a newer maintenance person visit for the periodic system review they are always professional and friendly. Without fail they call ahead to let you know when they are heading to your address or if running late, which helps. While offering several brands of systems, they often provide suggestions for maintaining our specific system at peak performance. The only improvement I can offer would be for the digital programmable touch screen monitor to be more sensitive to temperature changes, such as within two degrees of the setting, rather than three degrees. One of our family has a neuropathic condition and is very temperature sensitive. I would rate this company as about as close to an ideal heating and cooling outfit as you can find. In addition their prices are very competitive with the larger brand name companies in the area while being local. Keep up the great service!

We really only needed the lights on one side of the room (over the new office area), so I asked Greg to revise the estimate. It was not trouble and he did not try to push me into the original quote. We agreed on the price and he scheduled the work. Brennan came promptly and even texted me when he was close by so I could put the dog in another room. When we purchased our home in Knoxville after moving from the Nashville area, we found a home that we knew needed upgrades in both HVAC and electrical services. After consulting with several contractors in town, we selected JH Coleman because we felt the most comfortable with their approach to our quote and felt they would provide the best value for our needs.We couldn’t have made a better decision, as they have provided and performed at an extremely high and professional level. We swapped out both of our HVAC units, had the attic fans replaced, some minor electrical panel work, and miscellaneous electrical items repaired/replaced throughout the house. As I’ve mentioned before in previous Google reviews, I have had some trouble with HVAC service before. I’m the type of person who doesn’t know a whole lot about HVAC, so I depend on the expertise and professionalism of others to give me valuable service. I work for a living and I don’t have the interest in becoming an expert either, so it is very important to me to find someone who will be honest, provide quality work, and stand behind their work/product. This is what JH Coleman has proven to be.The HVAC work and the Electrical work were separated by two crews and departments. Chris Foster quoted me the HVAC work and Greg Pullins worked with me on the electrical. Also, Brandon Henry helped me post-install to dial in all the HVAC settings to make sure the units were running to meet our needs. He was available per my convenience and was more than happy to discuss/troubleshoot as much as it took.Chris was very up front and in depth with all of the discussions we had and was very patient with me to do the work. Our timeline to do the repairs from the time we moved in was unknown because I had to wait for the HVAC replacements until my old house sold. The install went very smooth and there were only a couple issues Chris and I had to discuss to help their crew provide even better service for the next customer. Overall, all went well and I do not expect any issues in the near future. The equipment installed was of a little higher than standard level, and has performed beyond my expectations.Greg was helpful with the electrical repairs/replacements we wanted and helped talk me through any questions I had prior to the work being performed. His installers were very professional and helped me with another issue while they were there without question. One of the new attic exhaust fans began making noise a month or so after the initial install. Within a day or so, a tech was onsite to repair and did so quickly and professionally. Unfortunately, that same fan again began making noise a few weeks later. After coming home from work late one afternoon, I texted a video of the noisy fan to Greg asking if it was normal or still something wrong. Without challenge, he offered to send a tech over that evening to make the repair. The fan likely had manufacturing issues, so they decided to swap out the unit that evening. Another example of taking care of the customer and standing behind their work.For those of you who are hoping to find a company that will be up front, honest and customer service oriented, look no further. Of course, you will find cheaper options on the market with salesmen who promise the best for the least and the quickest. It could be out there, but if you’re not interested in wasting time searching and risking finding the right company then you have a great option with JH Coleman.

A big thank you to John H. Coleman employees Michael and Richard for the installation of a new heat pump unit and thermostat for the upstairs. After many weeks of no heat or air, the company brought over a portable air unit while we waited for installation of the new Lennox heat pump. The employees worked all day and by the afternoon we had a new unit installed and cooling. Thank you to Michael and Richard for their dedication to their job. I would highly recommend this company for all your HVAC services as well as electrical needs. So glad to have found a reliable company.
