They took the time to optimize and reroute the plumbing in my bathroom to make sure it was done right. This fall, I signed a Home Care Club contract that covers maintenance on my HVAC and other systems for a full year. I was a bit frustrated that scheduling our annual furnace check was quite far out in the future. Today that job took place and the service technician performing the work was Dave, who very recently joined the company.It turns out that the wait was worth it! Dave spent several hours performing extensive checks and discovered that both our furnaces had not been properly installed by a different company more than five years ago so that the second stage of our two-stage furnaces had never been working. None of the other technicians or companies in the past had identified this problem.Dave worked diligently to engineer the fixes. Now, for the first time, both of our furnaces are fully operational. Great job and kudos to Dave for all his effort to dedicate the time and effort necessary to fully and expertly complete the job. Thank you!

Chip was very professional, kind, efficient, and knowledgeable. He explained all of my options well. I am so glad he came so quickly!! The three gentleman who came and did my installation did a great job! They installed my furnace very thoughtfully and even turned the humidifier so I can actually get TO it now!! They had a long day, nearly 12 hours for installation - they took the time to be sure it was done right! I am very, very happy with the work they did. And after such a long day, they still took the time to be sure I understood everything. I am so grateful! Donald also was great. It turns out the guys forgot to turn my water heater back on after they were done (who knew there were TWO on-off switches?!?), and in the meantime, it appeared as though my new furnace wasnt working, but it was the new governmental system that had to reset for 5 minutes, blowing cold for that time, before the furnace could take over again. In the meantime, Don taught me some more very important tips to help maintain my furnace and humidifier!Zack came and finished off the electrical to bring my home up to code a week afterwards. He was very respectful, cheerful, efficient, informative, and he was kind enough to take the time to give me a quote on some further work Im considering having them do on my home, too. Overall great experience!

Tech did what he could with the tools he had, spending hours on the first day attempting to restore my kitchen plumbing. Came back out the next day with the proper heavy machinery to finish the job correctly and get drainage restored. Both techs were dedicated and professional. They took the time to answer my questions and keep me informed about what was happening.

Michael M. arrived at my home to do the Camera inspection on my main sewer line. He introduced himself and came right in to get started. He went over all the plumbing in my basement. He is definitely a subject matter expert and knows how to convey it to the customer. He was very thorough, and encouraged me to stick around so he could show me what was going on. He answered all my questions and gave me options. He sent the recorded footage from my sewer line straight to my email at no extra charge. Some companies charge or they allow you to record with your phone. I highly recommend Thornton & Grooms and their team of caring professionals. I will definitely refer them to my friends and family for any plumbing needs! Once my work is completed I’ll circle back with before and after pics. I’m confident the work will be nothing short of amazing from there highly skilled professionals.

After completing his inspection, he then sat down and explained everything to me so I have a very informed understanding of the state of our furnace. We always seem to have excellent professionals from Thornton and Groom, and as long has they continue to maintain that standard they will be our Go-To Plumbing, Heating and Cooling company.

Jordan did an outstanding job! We were in a bit of a panic when our shower was on and wouldnt shutoff. Thornton & Grooms sent someone out within a couple of hours of our initial call. Jordan reviewed the job and gave us a couple of options on how he could repair it for us. He was able to get everything repaired and up and running in less than two hours. He also made sure we checked the temp on our water heater since it was extremely hot and he knew we had small children. He was professional and had a wealth of knowledge. Super customer service!

Trevor was an absolute doll, showing up on New Years Eve day when a sudden problem arose with our toilet and his honesty was second to none, along with his workmanship. Going the extra mile. He not only fixed our toilet he checked if we needed a new shower converter because our hot water took a long time to heat up and after conversing with Rodney ( who like a lot) he adjusted our current converter to make the hot water hotter. I recommend using him.

Everyone at Thornton and Grooms was extremely helpful in our rather urgent situation of a hole/significant crack in our cast iron main drain pipe (original to our 1956 home) leaking into our crawl space. Mike came the day after I called to assess the situation and quote the job. Then, due to the nature of the issue, they prioritized the work and were able to schedule someone the very next day.The job spanned over 2 days with Gabe leading the job, and both he and his assistants (2 different men whose names I forgot) worked very hard, the first day in 10-degree weather(!) working outside to dig out the old drain pipe under our deck and to the septic tank. The second day they worked just as hard in the crawl space. The city inspector signed off on the work and all seems well now.We were very happy with the work they performed, the communication all along the way, and the 2-year, no interest financing.It was a top-notch experience for us.

The entire staff is extremely professional and communicates very well from the initial phone call through to job completion. Aaron and Josh did an excellent job of reviewing my plumbing concerns and making recommendations on different resolutions that could be done. Then Steve, Demetrious and Kelsie completed the job same day. At the end, they walked me through the work performed and made sure I was satisfied. They even cleaned up the work area and the entranceway to my house at the end. Great work all around.

I had water coming up into my basement and called Thornton & Grooms. I have used their services in the past and was pleased with their work. This time around was no different. Cody arrived on time and immediately got to work. He was very personable and kept me informed throughout the process. I ended up requiring additional work and Brad made a point to thoroughly explain what the issues are, how they can be fixed, and exactly how much it would cost. He helped me set up an appointment for an install crew to come back in two days. I am very satisfied with the work that was done and every person Thornton & Grooms has sent to my house has been outstanding. He answered all my questions quickly and efficiently, and If I didn’t quite understand he explained further. I would recommend Thornton & Grooms service.Update: Once more T & G came through for my service needs. After a routine service-call A/C Tech Phil Rychlinski updated me about the status of my equipment, and how to proceed. Great guy, very honest, and helpful. Plus, he further advised me; on the best way to save needless expense. Enter: Sales Rep. Dan Eckert, who explained all the various equipment options and price-points, and what would be the best fit for my condo. Dan is another example of great professionalism, and social-skills. He set-up, an install immediately; scheduled for the next day. The install crew showed up the following day. Two pro-installers: Hannah and Jack. They had the old equipment uninstalled, and removed in no time. Both were friendly, and knowledgeable. Answered all questions about the new furnance, and tutored-me on the new thermostat. These are good, hard-working people, who cleaned-up on the way out. Plus stated: if I had any questions or concerns to not hesitate to call. Another big thumbs-up for Thornton & Grooms!

This in reference to Jordan Eberlein. He was pleasant and demonstrated professionalism in all his verbal mannerism.He was dressed appropriately in fresh plumber clothing. He explained what he could do, then gave me options. I had before unpleasant news about my clogged laundry sink drain. The guy before him came to unclog the sink, however he could not. He had all kinds of wonderful snakes, tools, and etc. However, was unable to unclog. Mr. Eberlein, decided to try and unclog. He had only tools that a plumber would just carry everyday. He had 1 small snake, some rags, bucket, 1screw driver (to open missing knob on entrance door) he worked on drain, and somehow he unclog it!!!! I truly, and my family appreciates Mr. Jordan, taking the extended task of unclogging the drain. He took the job of starting back where the job begin. He is definitely an asset to Thornton &Grooms Company

Unfortunately, we had several plumbing issues that couldn’t be taken care of by the initial plumber that was sent out to our home as he was unable to repair the toilet. Two days later, a second (Plumber) Evan, was dispatched to our home but stated he was here to give us a give us a maintenance inspection instead of fixing our toilet. Well, , I guess Evan could see how upset I was and he asked if it would be OK if he took a look at the toilet to see if he could help. I’m grateful to say he was able to quickly diagnose the problem and provided several different options on how to fix the issue. I made the selection at best fit our budget and he completed the work within minutes. Evan was extremely professional and very knowledge he also provided me with useful tips that I will begin to use immediately. I absolutely plan to use the company again and will always request Evan to come out to our home. This young man should be celebrated by Thornton and Grooms as he was really great!

Daniel J. from Thornton & Grooms did an Outstanding job on my heating system today! A couple of weeks ago, I had a service check done on my 5 year old Lennox heating system. Daniel presented a very thorough evaluation and said the system could use a cleaning and that the motor was leaking. Fortunately, the motor was covered by the Manufacturer’s warranty and I would just have to pay labor and the cleaning. I decided to go ahead with both. Daniel said he would order the part and when it came in, I would be called to set up a date. I received the call yesterday and Daniel came back today and switched the motor out and cleaned the furnace. He is very honest and thorough and I truly appreciated his courtesy, knowledge and timeliness. I would not hesitate to request Daniel in the future👍👍👍

Thornton and Grooms was incredibly prompt! We had an issue with our water heater that our developer (Robertson Brothers) refused to cover, even though the work was completed negligently at install. Robertson told us it passed inspection, so it wasn’t their problem. We were at risk of having a far more serious problem on our hands by the time we caught it. I called T&G on Thursday afternoon, and Matthew V. showed up quite literally first thing on Friday morning! He quickly identified the problem and replaced the incorrect work, while providing us information as to why it happened. We have a friend who is a plumber and we sent him photos of the work, he complimented it and said he did a good job, and he doesn’t often think other people have done a good job - so that says a lot! A little pricey, but sometimes you get what you pay for.

He thought it was a gas flow issue and had us call Consumers Energy out on an urgent visit. Sure enough our gas meter had to be repaired as it had stopped working. Great job all around and now we have heat and hot water again!

I’m incredibly happy with the services Mr Wellman provided at my home. He was very personable, my cats loved him and most importantly, he took care of all of the services that come with the complementary hot water tank flush and fill, including testing the water for hardness and chlorine quickly and without leaving a mess.I mentioned to him that I needed help finding the main water turn-off valve for my house. He not only found and labeled it for me, but he labeled all of the valves in my basement as a courtesy. He also did some repair work and didn’t leave a mess behind. Updating the sump pump drain pipe cleaning: As a continuation of the sump pump , Stephanie and her crew did a fantastic job of finally cleaning out the cement like deposits in my sump pump drainage pipe. There is apparently no way to prevent the buildup so every 10 years the service will need to be done.The buildup was thick enough a clean out rod with chains needed to be used. Followed up by a powerful jet wash. They confirmed proper cleaning was done but had to jet wash a second time. Videos confirmed clean pipe.The before and after videos were provided to me.Thank you Thornton and Grooms for always doing a great job.Michael was here at house to discuss raising the discharge location of sump pump. This summer the ditch has had been getting flooded with water from high rainfall amounts and thus overtopping the drain point. Standing in pouring rain we discussed options available.I pointed out landscaping I did not want damaged, he assured me the crew would do everything they could to avoid damaging my mature flowering plants. So instead of using a trencher, they would dig by hand and raise the pipe. The trench machine would have crushed and destroyed the landscaping and plants. I agreed to very reasonable price. I later texted him with another solution to raising the pipe even more so. He responded within 10 minutes and told me it was good idea but city codes would need to approve.I will definitely ask for Michael for any drain issues in future!Being disabled, I am glad I found a honest reputable company that will come out when we need them and do jobs that myself and wife as the homeowners can’t do.I can’t figure out how to leave reviews on other jobs: but this is related to same job anyway and continued repairs. Brennon Byrne and his partner did excellent job of adding a pipe to raise the end of discharge line! They were very considerate of my landscaping and no plants were damaged. A tarp was laid down to keep dirt off the lawn as they dug.I made a request to separate the clay as I needed it for building up dirt on back of house to keep water away from foundation. Clay is better as natural waterproofing material. I provided buckets and they carried them to rear yard and even helped spread dirt out. This act helped me considerably.Except for replacing the dug up lawn the dug up area looks untouched.They suggested I get a clean out for the calcium deposits in the pipe they found. Great job
