Hartford & Ratliff installed my Boiler in 2010 and I have been very happy with both it and the Service provided. Today’s Service call left me a little disappointed with the way Dante left the work area. He left the buckets I had provided full of water…and didn’t dry up the water left on the boiler room floor. Hopefully he performed the necessary service correctly, but cleaning up after the job is in my opinion an important part of completing the job.

9/16/2024 & 9/23/2024 - Job/Invoice #3372-2 - Mark was thorough and let me know what he needed to do with our pipe leaks in our boiler system and why, and at both appointment dates of replacement, showed me the work he completed when finished. I really appreciated his calm nature and how he took the time to check things and explain answers when I had questions. Its rare to find such good customer service. Thanks for sending Mark to us! We recently had an issue with a clogged dryer vent - it turned out a bird had decided to build a nest inside the duct. We called Hartford & Ratliff and they made arrangements to come out very quickly. The technician (Zack) was extremely courteous and professional, and also found another serious problem with the duct that we were unaware of. All was fixed in a way that this cannot happen again. Further, when we had a brief question about the invoice, the office staff was very helpful. Service was excellent. I would highly recommend this company.

My experience with Hartford & Ratliff was an untypical drawn out affair for a Pool heater repair. Difficulties in diagnosing a moving target issue exactly was accomplished by several Tech visits including the part Owner. All staff were very congenial and good to work with. Several parts were replaced for various reasons. In the end, the Heater is working fairly consistently. Expenditures approached the half way cost to a new Heater.The Staff was very good, no issue there. It remains to be seen if it was a wise investment vs new?

***UPDATE*** I received a call back from RJ regarding my experience and review. He was very responsive and open to listening to my complaints regarding my service experience. I feel my concerns were heard and addressed. This issue was resolved and I would be willing to give them another try.Our pool heater wasn’t working and giving an error code. I called and made an appointment. I was not told to have the pool heater running so they could see the code. So when the technician came out it was not showing what he needed to see? I thought he would hook something up to the pool heater to get a reading? But nothing. He just took the front panel off and stared at it. The technician proceeded to tell me I needed a new heater that would cost me around $6,000. If I wanted to buy the heater I would get it for the same price as they would. I told him yes however they would up charge me for it and is answer was , of course we would. I asked about fixing the heater and he said it would cost half the price of a new heater ($3, 000) and it wouldn’t last. Finally frustrated with the service and not getting anywhere I asked how much I owed just to get him finished since he hadn’t done anything thing except take the front off the heater and stand there looking at it.So I paid $189 for the technician to come give me a quote, stare at the heater and leave. What a waste of money.After that found a referral to another repair person in the area and they fixed it no problem for $180.I would not recommend Hartford and Ratliff ever.

Five Stars due to immediate response, quick (no cost) estimate in person, quick turn around on scheduling the job, and of course the job itself completed with high quality, on time, and as promised.My Technician was Zak K.My job Number: 3299 (Friday, Aug 30, 2024).My very old gas pool heater (in ground pool) finally gave up the ghost. I was recommended a company by my pool tile installer (from a few years back). This company offerred mili-volt heater, with no hook up to my CompPool controller, with uncertain installation timing, and inconsistent call backs to answer questions.Found Hartford & Ratliff from google search. Called on Monday and was offered immediate (same day) free in person estimate. Scheduled estimated for Wednesday. Technician Zak arrived on time, explained the job, quoted electronic ignition heater, did not rush and answered all the questions. Accepted contract. Was offerred job on Friday (same week) - to be me back up and running for Labor Day weekend.Heater installed - everything was cleaned up. Had people in the nice and warm pool by Sunday.Definitely Recommend.

The technician (I believe his name was Zack) could have started his weekend but instead made an extra trip an hour away from his last stop in order to get our heater up and running. I had Hartford & Ratliff out in the spring to check my aged baseboard heater. Carl, the technician, looked everything over and gave it a good bill of health. He suggested I turn the temperature down for the summer. So now that fall is upon us I turned the heat back on. The valves & air tanks groaned & made some awful sounds. Hartford & Ratliff sent the same technician, Carl, as he was somewhat familiar with my system. Carl knew what to do immediately. He opened & closed some valves to release air in the line. Didn’t take long at all to remedy my situation. I recommend this company as they got my tech out within 2 days for a non emergency. Everything is heating & quietly running. Very satisfied customer.

Hartford and Ratcliff answered a boiler emergency in the middle of a freezing December night when no other company (about 10 called!) was able to accommodate our request. Add to that the fact that we were out of the country and therefore unable to be physically present to assess the situation. Their technician, Dante, was very prompt in answering the call and making it to our house. He diagnosed the problem immediately and offered options which helped temporize the situation until we could get more definitive resolution. Five-star service hands down!

First class!! We have had different companies come to (try) fix our Navien tankless water heater over the years but no one seemed to get it right. We have been living with inconsistent hot water - sometimes it worked, usually not. Wasted a lot of water. Hartford and Ratliff came right over, investigated, hypothesized, and diagnosed. He even improved our situation while we waited for their return visit with the necessary part. (The temporary fix was the best we’ve had for about 4 years.) They returned the next day WITH their master plumber and ensured all the angles were covered and that they had it all correct before leaving. FIRST time we’ve had hot water on demand consistently in years. I am delighted. My family is happy. Just wish I’d found this wonderful company sooner. Thank you, Hartford and Ratliff.

Had a water leak on one of the plumbing connections of my pool heater and also a leak in the gas tubing to the igniter. Tech showed up. Fixed the water leak and replaced the tubing. Very pleased. Ran for a couple of weeks and I noticed a problem. Something was burning inside. I figure some sort of debris had got inside after some harsh storms we had so I turned it off. Water temp was fine and with the solar cover on I wasnt to worried. A week or so later, my neighbor noticed the heater was off but the box was really hot. We popped it open and there was a huge flame near the pilot. So I shut the gas off and called Hartford back out for a second visit. Cam showed up. He took thing apart, ran some new tubing to the igniter cleaned it up, and it fired right up! Excellent job. Before I let him go, I wanted to check to make sure there wasnt still a big flame, so we both took a peak and the big flame was there. It turns out a small part called the orifice must have fallen out of the igniter on the first tech visit so a new igniter went in. Runs perfectly now! Very pleased with the service provided. When the first tech came it was the end of a exceptionally hot day and it was honest mishap. I worked in construction for over 20 years and understand nothing goes perfect every time. Im not upset, Hartford made it right. I was very pleased with the work and the professionalism of both techs and the office staff. I definitely plan on calling for any future work I will have and highly recommend them to anyone who asks.

I had a Raypak pool heater installed 12 months ago by another company. The machine still under warranty had some display issues but otherwise worked great. Paul quickly replaced the Raypak motherboard and gave me a few pointers to prolong the life of the unit. H&R took care of dealing with Raypak warranty department and completed the job quickly. In one case, a master plumber they sent over just happened to be able to cut thru a lock my Township crew lost the key to enabling my business to run on time that day. Outdoor, water main was rusted over.These guys arent bargain priced, if thats what youre looking for. Theyre very fare, meaning, at more than one instance, I saved money because they shared straight up info with me. And, I feel Im not being cheated.They can file paperwork with the city/Township, as well. They have for me, everytime. In advance, too.These guys, Beth included, watch out for your business.

I am so impressed with the service I received from Chuck at Hartford & Ratliff Co. Chuck was so polite, knowledgeable, professional and personable. It would be my pleasure to work with him again and refer anyone who asks, to this wonderful company. My pool heater had not been working for the last month. I was on a wait list for two weeks with another company. I called them back twice, each time it was another two weeks before anyone could come out. I called Hartford & Ratliff and they came out the NEXT DAY! Wow. Chuck explained everything to my level of understanding. Thank you for helping me heat my pool.

Timothy Lutheran Churchs boiler returns were leaking under a concrete floor. Hartford & Ratliff provided the lowest quote. Mark Stebbins led the H & R team installing about 150 Ft of new pipe bypassing the leaking returns. The team arrived on time, worked well together, came prepared for the job, and were very professional and thorough in their work.
