I do not know what to say other then OUT OF THIS WORLD WORK Mr Rick, Mr Shaun and Mr Reese did a phenomenal job grading my property correctly as it shouldve been done in 2017! The fellows approached every aspect down to the mere inch of their work; correcting the grading (as the builder should have 6yrs ago when building this home) as if this were their home. The years of detailed excellent expertise that Peterson Grading guarantees is exceptional, including a free crash course on the basics of grading, drainage, swells and water remediation; even the receptionist Shannon is outstanding and ensures customers are able to contact the staff and their needs are taken care of. Mr Rick, Mr Shaun and Mr Reese are 3 of the best. Thank you very much I am very very very PLEASED!

Rick and Shaun did an outstanding job! They came up with a grading solution for my yard. They started my project when they said they would start. They left the site in great condition. The grading looks perfect! These guys know what they are doing! They also demolished and hauled off an old shed for me as well. They do great work!

Short review: Hire Peterson Grading Right now!Longer Review: Sometimes you have things in life you just can’t handle yourself & sadly, it seems lately, anyone that is able to help to help is either trying to take advantage of you or they don’t really know what they are doing. Peterson Grading however, knows what they are doing & treat you fairly. My family & I spent a very long time dealing with a drainage problem in our backyard. We built a pool & the “experts” building the pool didn’t take into account the water drainage in our neighborhood. This resulted in our pool flooding with mud & dirt anytime there was a heavy rainstorm. Every time this happened, it cost us hundreds of $$$ to fix the pool. We had no luck getting help from the pool company, so we had to go & look for a third party to fix the issue. We had many people never return our calls, some come out & have no idea what to do & others come out & want to charge us so much that we could put in another pool for the price. Then we were blessed to find out about Peterson Grading. From the very first interaction they showcased their professionalism & knowledge. Rick came out immediately to take a look at our issue & within 5 minutes (no exaggeration) he knew exactly what to do to fix the issue & also for a price that was fair. He came out with his son, Shaun & another member of their team. The 3 of them executed, with perfection, the exact plan that Rick had laid out for us. They did the job quickly, with excellence & best of all they felt like family…like they had our best interest had heart. I watched as they worked & continually discussed & evaluated how things were going throughout the project. Their attention to detail was AMAZING to me. They kept us in the loop on everything they were doing & gave us clear instructions when they left on what to do & what not to do. I mainly waited to write this review so that I could have time to see their work in action. 2 months later, I can tell you that they KNOW what they are talking about. We have had some heavy rainfalls & the way they graded our yard has made it so we have not had to worry about water filling the pool again. We had a problem with the grading around our new home and barn. We called Peterson Grading and Rick Peterson responded quickly, coming out to our property, told us a little about his company, looked over the scope of work and gave his recommendations. All in all he inspired confidence in us to choose his company for the job. Simply put, I am glad we did. From that point Rick, Shaun and Reid did everything they said they would and more. Watching Shaun on a loader and excavator is like watching a ballet. The guys earned our trust and take pride in their work. Their work is evidence that they know what they are doing. We would call them again if we ever needed grading or any of the services they offer.

Rick and his son do an outstanding job. What they tell you it is going to take and how long it is going to take is exactly what happens. They will work to get the job done on time and guarantee their work. Their quote is the price you pay, no add on or extra hidden costs. Rick even delayed installing the drainpipe at the end of the road until after the heavy equipment finished their work to prevent damaging the pipe. I would recommend them and use them again. When contractors dont return your calls, you can count on Rick to be responsive every time.

My 500 foot winding, rocky and barely graveled driveway needed a new layer of gravel, particularly on a steep slope that kept washing out during heavy rains. After 2.5 years of dealing with hauling/grading companies who either didn’t return my calls, couldn’t do the work, or couldn’t make a firm schedule commitment, I found Peterson Grading.Rick Peterson came out to look at my driveway as promised. He gave me a price and firm date for doing the work. Rick and Shaun (his son) showed up on time and by the end of the day, my driveway was re-graveled and packed to stabilize the new material.I’m very happy and so are visitors to my house who didn’t like navigating my bumpy old driveway.

Thank you to Peterson Grading for an excellent job! After purchasing his first home, my son quickly discovered that heavy rains would flood his crawl space and would cut ruts into his gravel driveway. I hired Rick Peterson to correct these major issues, and we could not be more pleased with the results. He reshaped the ground contour on the side of the home and the entire back yard, and he also brought in loads of dirt. He installed a new swell along the left rear of the property which properly rerouted the water about 225 feet to the driveway area. He also refurbished the driveway with 5 loads of stone and installed ADS pipe to insure proper water flow. I waited to write this review to see how things worked out. It has been over a year since this work was done, and I am pleased to say that his work stands the test of time!! Rick Peterson is very knowledgeable, and he takes the time to go over the plans with his customers so that there are no surprises. He was prompt getting the project scheduled and completed. He is professional, honest, and is very willing to take the time to explain everything that needed to be done and how he would correct the concerns. After calling numerous companies to have someone come out and give me a quote to have my backyard graded, Shaun not only was professional but also came and checked out my yard ahead of schedule which was awesome. No haggling or anything.. I told him what I wanted done and he told me a price and time. Didnt try to get me to do more than I wanted. Shaun and company ( dont know other crew members names) did a excellent job and will most definitely use in the future. Local guy supporting a local company. Keep it up guys

Peterson grading is top notch!!Our family recently decided to prepare our land to get horses. Rick came to our home within 24 hours of my initial phone call. He was quickly able to offer solutions to three different grading needs on our property to be better prepare us for enjoying our horses and keeping them safe. He promptly discussed our project with his son Shawn the next morning and provided me with a very reasonable quote that afternoon.The following week, he called me the night before to ensure we were still on track for them to begin the project and that all of our questions and concerns had been addressed. Rick and Shawn spent 2 different days working on our 3 different projects. They cleared underbrush in our wooded lot for the large horse paddock. They transformed one of our hills into a completely leveled 50 foot area for our round pen. Finally, they created a new swale for water to be redirected from our front yard toward our front ditch instead of the water draining through our new horse paddock.Rick buried all of the brush to make our new space appear clean and fresh. Shawn unexpectedly delighted my wife by transplanting some blueberry bushes for us. This duo is truly remarkable. There years of experience and hard work ethic are revealed in their finished product.They were consistently professional, precise and positive from beginning to end. It is both rare and refreshing to find a company with their integrity in todays market.We can not more highly recommend Peterson Grading for your grading needs. You will not be disappointed!

Recently I needed some grading and backfilling work performed in the back yard on my property in Cabarrus County. A couple years ago, I had hired Peterson Grading, Concord, NC to grade some drainage terraces on my property and since they performed that work well, I naturally contacted Shaun Peterson with Peterson Grading for this other grading project as well.Shaun came to my residence and evaluated this new project’s needs. It wasn’t long until Shaun, Rick (his dad) and other workers showed up to perform this second project for me. Again, they worked hard and completed the project as Shaun described. I would encourage anyone needing grading work to contact Peterson Grading for those needs.

Peterson Grading is great to work with. They are knowledgeable, skilled and efficient. We had them demolish and remove an old structure and prepare the site for a new structure, prepare another site for a horse riding ring and build a road through the woods to a new home site. They were very helpful with routing and repositioning things to preserve as many large trees as possible and take care of the various drainage issues. Im happy to give them a 5 star review and I will definitely have them back as our project continues.

We searched for some time to find a reliable, responsive contractor for our large backyard project, which included the clearing of very large trees and shrubs, and regrading in preparation for replanting. Shaun was exactly the type of professional we were looking for. Weve used many contractors over the years for various home projects, and Shaun out shined them all with his work ethic! He managed our entire project, even lining up the additional fence and landscape contractors we needed, and the job ran smoothly from start to finish. Excellent family business, nice folks. Provided estimate promptly. Kept me informed of schedule to do my work. Installed a 6 x 20 steel pipe in creek on my property for a bridge. Graded land, reshaped creek for erosion control. Installed rip rap at ends of pipe and gravel on top of pipe and driveway slope. Removed and demolished old wooden bridge. Smoothed, seeded lawn and put down straw. Other extras I did not expect.Very experienced, very professional and organized. Highly recommend.Once I saw what was involved, I knew I got a good deal. I feel very fortunate to have found and used them.

I am not quite sure how to even begin, or how to describe the magnitude of the excellence that Rick & Shaun Peterson bring to the Grading, Excavating, Drainage, and Erosion Control community, actually to the world. To be honest, these two men (and their team) are unlike any business I have ever worked with.The past few years we have had a drainage issue in our back yard that had become devastating over the last two years. When it would rain, or rain was in the forecast we would hold our breath and pray. Every time it rained our pool would fill with muddy water. In the last year and a half we reached out to numerous landscapers, and companies that listed themselves as Drainage Experts, only to have them stand in our yard scratching their head with no clue, or provide estimates that were so enormous we felt hopeless, many never even returned our calls requesting an estimate. We even reached out to the pool company after one landscaper implied the pool company was responsible. We thought that we would never find someone with a solution, or someone to care.On February 22, 2021, after spending another sleepless night with severe rain in the forecast I continued to search and search the internet for someone (anyone) that might be able to help us. Then, by Devine intervention I found Peterson Grading, LLC. As I looked through their website I wondered if a company that handled so many huge jobs would even have time for a situation like ours. You can tell right away what a business will be like from your first point of contact. That morning I called Peterson Grading, the woman who answered the phone (Shannon) was absolutely amazing! Shannon listened to our issue and had genuine concern. With tears in my eyes, I felt like I had just called a family member and for the first time in years I felt hope.I told Shannon I had plenty of photo’s and video footage of what happened every time it rained. Shannon provided me an email address and asked me to email the photo’s and video to Rick & Shaun. She told me up front, that it was a very busy time but that one of them would get back with me.The day my son and I met with Rick we knew that God had sent him to us. Rick listened to us describe our problem, then he walked the entire back yard. Within 5 minutes he began to describe the exact problem, and based on his experience, he provided the details on the only solution he believed would solve it. His expertise shined through like the sun, his confidence, his reassurance and genuine concern for helping us, left me with incredible hope. As he was leaving, I told him once he provided us an estimate, we would need to contact our HOA/ARC. Rick said he would come back out if my husband or any of the HOA/ARC had any questions or concerns. He even said he would be more than willing to speak with them by phone as well.By March 3 we had a detailed estimate and survey drawing depicting the solution. A member of the ARC requested to come out and discuss our request. We contacted Rick and he went above and beyond to be here to meet with my husband and the ARC member. Because of Rick’s expertise in detailing the situation, the solution and answering all the questions posed to him with complete confidence, our project was approved immediately thereafter and a date was set.On March 30 Rick and his amazing business partner Shaun (his son), along with their crew member Reed, also a hard worker and very polite man arrived at our home with equipment that looked like it came off a showroom floor. The tires on the dump truck were even shined. I truly believe the way someone takes care of their own property is a direct reflection of their work ethic, and a refection of how they will perform any service. Once I began talking to Shaun (a wonderful young man) it was apparent that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Peterson Grading LLC did a wonderful job of listening to what we needed in our driveway area to repair ruts in the existing gravel and address potential erosion issues as well as create a circle for turnarounds. We are thrilled with the one day service!! They were even available to spread mulch we had provided for a moderate up-charge. Highly recommend!

Peterson handled the installation of my driveway which was over 700ft long and required 3 40ft culverts at the road, over a creek, and at the home site. The site was not flat and had water issues around the creek. They did an impeccable job of making sure each aspect of the project was done right going the extra mile paying attention to detail that others may have let go. Peterson does the work as if its their own and that certainly showed true from my perspective. I would use them again and highly recommend them for any project.

After dealing with multiple grading and drainage companies who were quite flakey, my wife and I were thrilled to work with a company who prioritized their clients. Rick and Shaun not only were happy to discuss any questions we had, but also made sure to follow through with the quality of their work.After a few days of rain/storms were glad to say the work that was done has definitely helped. The berms they made around most of our yard diverts the water to flow to the storm water trench instead of directly into our backyard.Would highly recommend and will definitely use for future work.
