We had been thinking about getting solar panels for several months when Mason Pfiefer from Palmetto knocked at our door. He was so knowledgeable, did a great job explaining what would be the best way to get solar panels installed on our roof, the energy savings we would get and so helpful in guiding us through the whole process. Palmetto’s install crew showed up as scheduled, took only a few hours to install the panels and get the system ready for activation. Mason was on top of getting a system up and running within a week. I highly recommend Palmetto if you are thinking of getting solar panels. I can’t imagine going with anyone else and within a month and a half We were seeing phenomenal savings on our electric bill, only paying the service charge of $12.95 a month for the last three months. Palmetto, Mason and the install crew went above and beyond anything we could have hoped for. And we were extremely pleased when I noticed daily output was showing zero so I contacted Palmetto through chat and the technician walked me through a very simple process of rebooting our system. Even though it showed zero we were still producing solar energy so it was just a simple reboot.

Our solar system has been installed for about two months and it is working beautifully. We have produced considerably more electricity than we have used since installation. The only reason I didn’t give a rating of 5 is because the startup of the system was a little disjointed. It took longer than expected and communication with our sales person could have been better. Another representative had to step in and he was great.

The Palmetto Solar people were very easy to talk to and answered every question that we had about the plans, that they provided ahead of time, and the installation of our solar panel system. They were very prompt, calling ahead of time to verify their arrival on sight the day they were scheduled to be at our home for the installation. The workers were polite and respectful, they worked quickly, and they cleaned up thoroughly before leaving when the installation was complete. Promptness of the activation of the system depends on the participation of the electric company that you are currently with and was a bit confusing, but, overall, the activation went well. It took a little longer than expected.Side Note: Be prepared to still pay the electric company for component charges and any overages that may result because of cloudy and/or rainy/snowy days when you do not produce enough electric to completely cover your usage/consumption. This is something we are still working on adjusting to.

Will Dennis was honest and up front about the entire process. He answered all my questions quickly and with documents to back his information. Once I took pictures and a plan was set up for the designation of the panels, the process began. Brandon Chambers was my contact, and he did a great job keeping me up with the process at each completion point. The install happened quickly, and the team of installers were professional, and quick. The entire process took about 4 hours. The lead installer walked me through the process and showed me the equipment that would be used which was fantastic. After the install was completed, I was told the next step was my utility company changing my meter, possibly within 30 days. Well 5 days later a new meter was in. Within 1 week Mr. Chambers called me to walk through the process of turning the panels on. It was so simple and 3 weeks sooner then the projected date. Mr. Chambers also walked me through the application registering so I could see my new investment at work. I was producing almost 2 times my use immediately. Amazing. Know I am checking it every day to see how much I am saving. Even on cloudy days it produces. I did the math, and this system will pay for itself in less than 7 years. I wanted to do this about 5 years ago and wish I had taken the leap. My house has a higher sale value, and I will only pay the customer charge from PECO, maybe not even that. Since, I joined Time of Use rates and hope to actually make some money from this. I would recommend to everyone that has sunlight on top of your property. Palmetto was the very professional and caring about my thoughts and opinions. I was worried at one point and Mr. Chambers called me to discuss my worry and put everything to ease. Very glad I did it and you will too, energy costs are so high with no end in sight.

Ours was 8 months to finish and then another 6 weeks to get the power company to finish all their approvals. I also felt like I was chasing Palmetto several times for updates and to keep progress going.All that said though, the contractors they hired were all great, no complaints there. Im awaiting our first power bill with solar installed but just tracking the usage the savings should pay for themselves completely.So, while the experience wasnt great, its not like Id paid them yet and the final results are great.

There are a few things that I loved about doing business with Palmetto Solar.Their sales person was super helpful, easy-going, and never pressured me..Yes, it seemed like the company had their own timeline of wanting to move forward with the sale, but the sales person respected that I had my own pace, and that I did not want to pressured into a sale. That respect made all the difference for me.Everything the company said, and talked about in the sales process was authentic and true. In the summer I generate at least twice as much electricity as I use. In the winter with our weeks of overcast and clouds, I’m plugging into the grid and get my electricity that way. All my electricity bills are so much cheaper with the solar panels. a tax credit, and for every 1000 kW of power I produce I receive a payment.The team that came to install the solar panels was excellent. They had a project manager who I could talk to at any time with questions and concerns,. After the panels were installed, I had a small leak and Palmetto returned two or three times to work on it until it was fixed.I never felt like it was a hassle to call them or ask them for help. Everyone on their team is super friendly.

Edit:After posting this review I was contacted by another team at Palmetto that was able to work with their subcontractor to get it all worked out.---------Contracted Palmetto for a roof replacement and Solar Panels. (Roof replacement was subcontracted) With the rain this year the roof leaks and Palmetto refuses to get it fixed because its not related to the Solar Panels (even though I paid them for the the full reroof as well).

Our experience with Palmetto has been excellent so far. Our sales representative was very patient and answer everyone of our questions, until we were ready to sign up. After signing up, the process has run very smoothly, with communications and updates coming in frequently and in a timely manner. The installation process was very professional and quick, with very little disruption to our regular activities.
