Chief/Bauer has some great men working for them. I first met with Jeff to discuss the heating and cooling issues I had been experiencing in my home. After a discussion concerning my options, I decided to have a new furnace and A/C unit installed. Jeff was very honest about my options.Today I had the new furnace and A/C unit installed. The technicians (Justin, Doug, and Steven). They were great! A special shout out to Justin… a very polite, hardworking guy. He had great patience when asked questions and did a great job explaining things to me. I took the time to talk to him and discovered he is a military veteran. (Hence, the respectful use of “ yes ma’am”. 😊) Thank you, Justin, for your service.

I just want to say thank you for the work Doug, Buddy, and Justin did here at my home! They put in a new air conditioning unit and furnace in one day. Despite the headaches and some complications they were all able to figure it out and get it done for me successfully! It’s been running great and definitely keeps my house warm even at a low setting! I’m very pleased with the work from these gentlemen and couldn’t ask for a better place to get the job done! My father Vic would be very pleased with the work his work family did here as am I and would willing state his appreciation/gratitude! Thank you Buddy, Doug, and Justin again! When the fan on the furnace started making that Im about to die noise, I called them. They fixed the immediate issue within hours, and a few days later were back with a whole crew to replace all my old system. The new furnace, hot water heater, AC unit, house humidifier, and thermostat were installed over about 6 hours. I cannot say enough good things about the team that came out, Justin, Steven, Gunnar, and Derek knocked the work out efficiently and were even patient with all my husbands questions!

We scheduled our maintenance and they sent Juan Fernandez. Hes awesome for our home, the fact that we have young dogs that are hyper. Juan was great with them, he spoke sternly with them instead of aggressively, He stepped in and let them get his scent then proceeded with his job. He spoke with me and my husband like we were human and not robots. I loved his customer service. I ask him to be our tech more often.

Yesterday, Michael and Bob came out because our furnace blower died so no AC! 2-3 week backorder on a new blower so we decided to replace the 15 year old furnace. Jeff and Michael and Aaron were courteous and knowledgeable today! Our boiler is 100 years old and we needed them to find out why two of the radiators in the house weren’t working in the winter. They investigated the whole system and got the radiators working in no time.We have had other technicians come out in the past, including to install a dishwasher and fix major plumbing issues, and everyone has always been professional and helpful.

Bill was the plumber that needed to remove our hot water heater then reinstall it after our HVAC system was replaced. He was extremely friendly and efficient. He even helped resolve a small issue that had popped up recently and strangely was exacerbated by turning off and on the hot water to the tank. Would definitely call for regular plumbing service.Mark and Dylan installed our HVAC unit and they were great as well. Not only is our new system so quiet we don’t even know it’s running, but they adjusted the duct dampers and the temperature in our house is MUCH more even. A great experience all the way around.

Paul from Chief Bauer was able to come out same day to our house in Homer (not everyone even goes to Homer since its further out from Champaign). The house is over 100 years old so the fix had some twists and turns (and a climb through the basement crawl space to access the pipes under the kitchen). He was polite and professional and kept us informed throughout the process. He even called out a second guy so that the job could be finished same day. Big thank you!

With out going into details. The first time we used chief Bauer was not the best experience, BUT they worked hard to make it right. Fast forward to today after the sewer line replaced from April 2023 we still had a big mountain in the front yard. You guys came out and took the dirt to make it level. The installers were outstanding. Arrived about 8:30 am. They were friendly, thorough and precise in their workmanship. The AC is working well. The temperature in the house has come down from 85 F to a stable 72 F. And the humidity from unbearable to a comfortable range.I have a 10 year warranty from Lennox and a 1 year workmanship warranty from Chief Bauer. No surprises on the bill. I couldn’t be more pleased!

We’ve been Chief Bauer customers for many, many years, and maintenance+ program members for the past several years, and we’ve always had excellent experiences. During my recent M+ checkup, Gunner found several major issues with the a/c (that is almost 20yrs old) that had us questioning if expensive repairs would be a waste of money versus pulling the trigger for full hvac replacement. Within minutes, Jonathan quickly appeared to talk us thru all of our options, pricing, and Advantage program details. We chose full replacement of our systems, and to replace the hot water heater as well, and join as advantage program members…the scheduled installs are happening as I type this! So far so good, the techs have all been excellent! The text notices from when the techs were on the way didn’t say all of their names, so the guys that were here working with Mark & William, sorry we didn’t have your names, and thank you to ALL for your expertise! The hwh crew has just finished and gone, and the ac/furn crew is still working hard. Luckily it’s cool-ish temps today because it’s raining, but we’re excited to turn on the brand new everything & and enjoy the peace of mind of our equipment and service from Chief Bauer!

Scott and Jonathon were conducting a preseason check-up on my HVAC central air conditioning unit. When they went out to wash the unit for the new season, they noticed that the aluminum siding was laying on the ground beside my garage. I told them that the high winds last night evidently blew them off. Having prior experience with siding work, they volunteered to replace it. I got two small step stools and they quickly did the repair! I greatly appreciate their kindness that enabled repair without me having to take the time to find a repair source, get an estimate, schedule a repair that took less than 10 minutes to complete and pay for it. Instead, I added and paid for an optional solution to prolong the life of my AC unit. Great company! Marie the dispatcher was kind and efficient - she found a repair person to come within 30 minutes. The two technicians, Scott and James, were polite, friendly and most importantly, tremendous at their jobs. They explained what parts were needed, why they were needed and the cost. And though they didnt have the part, the office sent it immediately to our home. Finally they did not try to sell me other repairs and in fact told me that other possible repairs were not necessary although they could be done. highly recommend the company and Scott and James.

Hi. I have had to use furnace service multiple times during January and February for different things. Staff that came to my home were all very nice, let me stand around and watch and ask questions and took care of everything. David, Jonathon, Mason, Derrick and all the other staff that were in my home were great! Also, they had to come late in the day during that really subzero temperature and ice in January ---- got my furnace going again and were great!!!

The technicians make repairs and tune-ups effectively (the most recent work at my home was by Kurtis and Joe), and the office staff are always really friendly on the phone. C/B installed a new furnace and a/c for me about 5 years ago and I have had absolutely no problems at all. Efficient and friendly service most recently from Scott and Jonathan for a heating tuneup. And a few weeks later, David and James came out to help with an unexpected issue (that turned out to be tiny) and got my heat working again with in just an hour of me noticing the problem!

My second time having a tune up on my HVAC. Scott the technician was incredibly kind and professional. I used Chief Bauer last year in a furnace emergency when my regular business (and installer of a 2 year old furnace) could not provide a timely service. I liked being able to schedule online and get a confirmation within hours of my preferred time. Based on the quality of that emergency service, I signed up for the maintenance program which offers great value for tune ups on furnace and a/c as well as discounts on repairs and new systems-- I have a very old water heater so I anticipate needing this. But my most recent service was exceptional, a tune up on my furnace, and a detailed estimate for cost of a new water heater (with options), and suggestions for additional equipment to improve air quality and efficiency. There were no high pressure tactics and I didnt in fact take any of these suggested, but I appreciated knowing about them and having a written plan so I could research more about them. I appreciated the friendliness and efficiency of the technician, who was very knowledgeable and respectful-- unlike some who talk down to women like we couldnt possibly make a good decision about a man. I also liked how they put booties over their feet and went over everything they did after the service. Terrific service, couldnt be better.

I recently had my boiler heat go out (in retrospect, maybe caused by a small power surge? whos to say) and tried my hand at troubleshooting myself, but ultimately called up Chief/Bauer and they had someone come out very quickly. I talked the service person (shout out to Michael B.!) through the issue and what I had tried so far. He found the true culprit after a couple of rounds of troubleshooting and he got parts ordered quickly so that we could have them overnighted and I wouldnt be without heat any longer than I had to be. I was back up and running the next day! I can be stubborn trying to fix things myself, but if I hadnt called, I would have been without power for a week and learning low voltage circuit design, yada yada yada. In the end, the price was very reasonable for the work done, Michael was great to work with, and Im very glad I called!

Also the serviceman took note of a small leak and is asking the plumber to also check that out when he comes.Chief power is always very prompt to reply.The 2 time a year maintenance plan is well worth the price. Chief Baur also sends a repair man out any time you have issues for no charge for service or labor. Bottom Line Up Front: I recommend Chief/Bauer HVAC if you need your issue fixed today and cost isnt an issue.Our AC suddenly stopped working on a warm Friday night. We called Chief/Bauer Saturday morning and they had a technician at our door an hour later. Kyle was very friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. He found the issue to be a bad capacitor on the outside AC unit and promptly replaced it. My only complaint, making this a 4-star review instead of 5, is the cost for this service seems quite high.It was roughly $250 just to have a tech come out on a Saturday and the total ended up being roughly $500 to replace the capacitor. They try to convince you theyre giving you a better deal by offering an annual membership but the grand total is only about $20 less with it. You do get two free maintenance visits and 15% off future parts and labor, so that is a nice perk. I didnt question the cost of the part being $300 when Kyle showed me the estimate but after googling it, apparently capacitors are only a $20 part. I am a first time homeowner with no prior knowledge about HVAC systems and their maintenance. I requested for service because I wanted to have the vents checked and have the cigarette smell removed. Their website made scheduling very easy, and within a few hours, my appointment date and time was confirmed. The two technicians, Bob and Gunner, came within the appointment window. They were both surprised about how old my HVAC unit was (almost 50 years old!). Bob explained to me how inefficient the entire system was, and eventually convinced me to replace the system. He offered me a couple of choices and explained the different levels of financing. Gunner, on the other hand, showed me how to replace the filter and what size I should get. When I finally decided to replace the HVAC and go with their offer, the application process for financing was very easy. Bob came back on a separate day to get the paperwork ready, and he was very helpful with making arrangements with the financing company to give a better payment plan. Overall I am very satisfied with the experience.

Kyle Spesard came out to investigate a loud noise coming from our furnace. He quickly diagnosed the issue and performed the necessary repair quickly as well. After that, he assisted with investigating a separate hvac issue that previous technicians had failed to figure out after multiple hours of poking around. Kyle succeeded and solved the issue, and in doing so became my hero.Kyle was extremely professional, courteous, helpful, and patient. He has set the bar extremely high for quality of service. Also, my dog liked him, so he must be a good person. Keep up the good work Kyle!

We needed new a/c installed. they came quickly to talk to us about our options. once choosing the option we wanted, they were here with in a week. they spent an entire day working endlessly to get it installed. due to the odd layout of our home, it was going to take much longer to install. They came the next business day to install the remainder. they were great at keeping me informed on what was going on, explaining my options, and how the new system works. I would highly recommend this company.

Technician arrived today at the appointed time and provided a pre-winter inspection and evaluation on both of our heating and A/C units. Made a few adjustments; did some house-keeping on both, and advised us of a surge protector health and that it may be wise to consider replacing one before it leads to an emergency replacement. We are pleased to hear that it may be time to get out in front of a potential expensive repair. We found Aidan to be friendly, efficient, and thorough. We consider this preventative visit worthy of a 5-star review, and will be purchasing a replacement on the individual surge protector soon.

Found thermostat was missing a wire and he connected as it should be and also found wiring issue on outside AC unit and repalced condenser and wire. System working great now. UPDATE - had Chief Bauer come back two years later, everything is still working great and nothing needed. All good. Quick and on time service.I went online and scheduled an emergency AC repair. Chief/Bauer was able to schedule an appointment the very next day. Chief/Bauer called ahead of time to let me know the HVAC expert was on way giving me 30 minutes notice to get home which I greatly appreciated. Jeremy was professional, polite and personable. Jeremy got to work immediately and quickly diagnosed the problem going over every detail in the billing to explain everything. I appreciated the quick, professional service. Everything is working and Jeremy got it fixed for a reasonable price. Im having them come back this fall to clean and check the furnace. Great service as far as Im concerned. They have replaced 2 furnaces for us in the last 2 years. Last year when they put the new furnace in, it was the coldest day of the year and they were here in a matter of a few hours.They call us to remind us about the bi yearly furnace/air conditioning check ups. They are always very kind, working with our schedule. They do whatever it takes to make us happy.We wanted to put in a new air cleaner because I have severe allergies. The service man did not have one on his truck. He went back to Champaign to get one and came back that evening to put it on after I got home from work a week ago last Friday night. I told him he could wait till the next week but he wanted to do it that day due to my allergy problems that I have. I have not had to go back to the doctor in over a week nor have I had to take any of the medicine that has bad side effects. I feel so much better! Thank you Chief Bauer.

We had Chief out for routine maintenance and they discovered a very serious issue in our furnace, after discussing our options we then decided to have a new furnace installed. The Salesman came out the same day, gave us a price (not an estimate) and scheduled our install. Our HVAC techs came out the next day and after 12+ hours of hard work we had a new and most important a safe furnace system. These guys are great, I researched the price they charged me for the new furnace and install, it was average to low compared to other places. But they also installed a whole home humidifier, a new very nice thermostat, and they reworked some old ducting to maximize airflow, not to mention hauling the old furnace away. All of that for the price of the furnace and install, no charge for the extras! The men who did the work did a great job, cleaned up after themselves, were very polite and a pleasure to have in our home. I recommend them very highly. After this experience they have earned a customer for life...
