He gave us a detailed report of his findings and returned later to replace the step-down valve. He was very knowledgeable and explained the issue with our old sump pump as well as what he would be replacing and why. He did not try and upsell us as other companies had. Justin was polite and kind and very sensitive to the fact that we were all working while he was there. I appreciated that I received a text letting me know when he would be arriving as well as a phone call when he was about 20 minutes out. We will be using CroppMetcalfe again and we hope to Justin again as our technician!

Latest guy was David for electric. He was super personable and clearly knew what he was doing. He fixed some wiring and outlet issues that my GC had no idea how to fix. I wanted a second opinion on my water heater. The company that installed it told me I needed a full replacement on a water heater that was installed only 3 years ago. It was a warranty replacement tank that was installed initially around 2014. It was technically out of warranty by now, so I wasn’t expecting a full replacement for free or anything. The original company didn’t even want to come and take a look at it before telling me I needed a full replacement. I called CroppMetcalfe to come take a look at it. Nicholas was great. He looked at the tank and said he didn’t think it needed a full replacement but thought some valve replacements should do the trick. He gave me like 4 different options and didn’t try to pressure or upsell anything not needed. I chose the option that Nicholas thought would get it back in working order. He said that if this doesn’t work that we may have go to the next option up that required some extra part replacements. He did the work and everything seems to be working as it should. Thanks.

He helped solve an ongoing issue with our HVAC after almost 7.5 years of issues with it. He was able to detect the system was originally not wired properly by our home builder. We have had multiple technicians from other companies try to solve our issue with no success over the past 7.5 years. Others even suggested we needed to replace the entire system! Also the task list provided after the service did not address the issue at all. Would like a follow up on this maintenance issue with a unit you installed less than a year ago.

You know the saying of when it rains it pours...well that was my situation. My elderly parents were scheduled to stay with me during my fathers recovery from heart bypass surgery. I had made a ton of arrangements including upgrading a bathroom in preparation for his surgery/recovery. Then a few days before his surgery my 4-year old Carrier HVAC went out and the manufacturer had the part backordered for 45 days. I have to thank CroppMetcalfe for going the extra mile to resolve the issue as 45 days without AC would have been a disaster. I want to say a special thank you to Mac who scrounged all over the eastern coast to find a company with the part and getting it expedited to Virginia and to Will, the technician, who came multiple times trying to come up with alternate solutions and for workingextra late to install the part the day it came in. It is this level of service that has kept me a loyal customer of CroppMetcalfe.

This was our first time with CroppMetcalfe. To my surprise, I received a photograph of the technician that was coming, a link to follow his arrival and the exact time he was to arrive. That alone in itself showed good customer service. Appearance was very pleasing to see. Introduction was very clear with his name and who he represents. Covered his shoes regardless of me saying he did not have to do that. He started with his assessment of what he found was the problem. Explained to me why we encountered the problem and told me this problem was covered under warranty and they would take care of all the paper work for me. I am very pleased with the entire experience. The last repair company, which was needed last winter, left me with a terrible experience. It followed me for months which resulted in a negative experience, costing me hundreds of dollars. To date the issue is still not resolved. I highly recommend this professional company for any of the services they specialize in. Thank you CroppMetcalfe for the wonderful experience.

5 stars is not enough…this was 10 star service! CroppMetcalfe and Ryan Cechvala saved us! Our AC went out on the 4th of July and we called the company we have been using for service. The technician quoted us 2 parts that needed to be replaced at about $4500 which they said were not under warranty. After no response from the previous company I called Cropp Metcalfe and got immediate assistance. Ryan arrived at about 9 pm after a busy day and diagnosed the problem appropriately. Mac worked with the manufacturer to find the warranty coverage information and they scheduled us for first thing on the next business day. Not only did he fix the issue but also corrected previously missed wiring mistakes. He saved us about $4000 and got it done within 2 business days! I cannot recommend this team enough!

Last time I reviewed crop Metcalf it was for an AC technician named Zack and he was a great!Today I used crop Metcalf to fix a plumbing problem I had. The technician was Justin and he truly went above and beyond expectations. He was here to replace the front and rear hose Bibbs on my house. When Zach was here he mentioned that my water pressure seemed high and I might want to ask a plumber about it. I mentioned it to Justin and he quickly tested the incoming pressure and found it to be well above code. Since I was his last customer for the day, he offered to stay late and fix the problem so I didnt need to make a new appointment. While he was laying out how he was going to put in the pressure reducing valve he found a leak in the copper pipe. He adjusted his plans so the installation of the pressure reducing valve would also eliminate the section of pipe with the leak in it. He also replaced replaced a few shut off valves that were not working properly and starting to leak. He went as far as color coding the shutoff handles so that it would be easier to understand which valves did what.So he stayed late, fixed everything on the original ticket, Was willing to open a second ticket and fix those items the same day because it would be easier for me not to wait for a plumber again, and he color-coded things so itd be easier to understand. He was also friendly and professional. I couldnt have hoped for more.

This included new fixtures, garbage disposal, water valves, outdoor faucets and flushing our hot water heater. Doug patiently answered all of my many questions and even took his time late on a Friday afternoon to assist me with locating a rare and unique part that allows our shower to work properly. Have you used these guys several times over the years to work on my HVAC system and now called them to check out my hot water heater. Got a text and phone call saying when my technician, Nicholas, would be arriving and was able to track where he was and when he would arrive.Nicholas did a great job! Didnt try to upsell me and just gave me the facts and recommendations. He found that the water pressure valve for the main line coming into the house wasnt functioning properly and was sending too much pressure through the pipes and found that my thermal expansion tank wasnt working properly either so had those two things replaced and got things done pretty quickly with no issues. He walked me through all my options and did a great job!I highly recommend these guys for any Home Maintenance jobs around the house!

Ryan was able to idea the cause of the issue and recommend several options for the repair and the different cost points. He also did a once over of the system after discussing an issue I was having with the heat pump over the winter and identified a fire hazard with the electrical disconnect that I had not been aware of. His dedication and thorough inspection identifed the hazard before it became something worse and he literally prevented a house fire! Cant thank him enough!

In early January this year-I had signed up for a HVAC check up for my furnace. Will C. mechanic, was very professional, courteous and honest and explained things well. I ended up signing up for a one-year maintenance contract which will include my cooling system check-up this summer and also offer discounts through the year if parts are needed.Yesterday June 18, David Young mechanic came and did the AC part of the maintenance contract to check things over and make sure everything was working correctly. System still running but on it’s last legs it’s over 25 years old so over twice it’s lifetime and I’m likely going to have to replace the whole system… not happy about that but very grateful to have a company that I know I can count on and be honest with me about what needs to be taken care of. We love the expertise and time considerate professionalism of Cropp. Ryan even diagnosed and fixed an unknown gas leak during his evaluation completely unrelated to the issue he was called for!
