The work would be done by a third-party contractor, requiring at least two days of our time and a one to two week wait. He installed a new float switch, and then returned to swap the old corroded drain pan for a new one. Despite the tight workspace, he managed to replace the pan alone. Ive been using their services for over two decades, and they continue to enhance their service quality, unlike many other companies. Joels Finest Plumbers were able to schedule an appointment for us promptly the morning after our request. We needed the inspection to take place after 8:15 am, which was accommodated without a hitch. Herbert, our plumber, gave us a heads up when he was about 45 minutes out and arrived promptly by 9:30 am. He was considerate enough to wear shoe covers during his inspection, a gesture we greatly appreciated. He examined our hot water heater, a 15-year-old Bradford White model with a 6-year warranty. We had suspected that the previous owners had not kept up with regular maintenance, and Herbert confirmed our suspicions. He informed us that the clacking sound we had been hearing was due to hard water sediment and the whistling was the heater working overtime because of the sediment. Given its age and condition, Herbert advised us against flushing it due to potential rust, and suggested we prioritize its replacement. However, he noted that it could wait until it started leaking. Apart from the heater, Herbert also inspected our other plumbing fixtures and identified two more issues. One of them was a rag in the toilet tank! Ah, the adventures of homeownership in Tulsa! He provided us with quotes for replacing the hot water heater and addressing the two other issues. After reading some reviews, we knew that some people didnt appreciate large company stickers being left on their hot water heaters. Herbert kindly asked if we wanted a sticker and we happily agreed, as it would make finding the number easier. The sticker was not big at all.
