The home I bought came with an AC unit from the Comfort Authority, so I scheduled my first maintenance service with them and figured I would switch if I didnt like them. However, the stellar customer service I got from Luis Menendez has made the decision to stick with the Comfort Authority very easy. He is super professional and answered all of my intricate questions.

The Comfort Authority sold me a new system about half a dozen years ago and have been providing routine service ever since. I’ve had no issues with my system and love the service I receive. Once a year they reach out to schedule routine service to make sure I don’t find myself in an emergent situation. That convenience is huge, but even better every single person I’ve delt with, be it over the phone or in person, has been exceedingly courteous and professional. Today I had Luis over who took great care of my system and was very respectful of my home. Fantastic company!

I contacted The Comfort Authority to install a reverse osmosis system for my home. The plumber, Eric Clauss, came on time and did an excellent job installing the system. He had to drill through my quartz countertop to install the faucet. He was careful not damage anything in the process. I would recommend this company for plumbing or HVAC needs.

Very polite and professional. Explained everything and answered all my questions.* Update. 11/23/24. Had an issue when ran heat for first time. After calling a few local plumbers, nobody had availability today. I called The Comfort Authority - Plumbing at 8:00 and they had someone here within an hour of our first call. First impression matters and the dispatch team nailed it. They were very communicative and timely with calls and responses. They even send a little introduction to the technician they are sending which is nice personal touch. Eric arrived and asked about the problem (clogged bathtub drain), assessed the situation, and immediately acted on the issue after my approval of rates. He was fast, efficient, and precise. Prior to leaving, he showed me the problem was fixed and also cleaned the area. 10/10 would recommend to anyone in need of a plumbing solution. He also went above and beyond and helped us get the old, stubborn, drain cap undone so we could install a new one. Thank you Eric, keep up the great work! It was a pleasure working with The Comfort Authority for my plumbing issues and I will be using them again if needed.

Top notch service! If HVAC companies were on a dating app, I would swipe right. Professional, timely, respectful of your house, good communication with texts and phone calls. I knew I was going to need to replace my AC after buying my townhome 3 years ago. I initially went with a system check up because it wasn’t running like the beast it used to be (est 2007). Glenn the technician came out and said she needed some work. He kept it real and then I decided to divorce my old one and upgrade to a new younger, prettier, more efficient one. Gary and Uzi came by the next day and swapped the old ex out and now Im living in some vacation temperatures. Also Derek was great and made the whole paperwork process a breeze. I definitely could have gotten it cheaper somewhere else, but so far the quality has been 💯. I’ll add any additional reviews as we live together for the next year.

Can I give Seth 10 stars? Because hes the man you want to come out. Very through, knowledgeable, honest and enjoyable. He gave me a detailed quote after doing the ac tune up (which was only $89! 🤯) It was incredibly reasonable for the services. He didnt want to do anything unnecessary or harmful to my unit. He didnt try to sell me some fancy brand new AC unit, he gave me ALL the options in his report.If you book them, which I recommend, ask for Seth!

They have a maintenance membership, to keep my system problem-free and running great Luis is my tech, and he is professional, friendly, and prompt. April is wonderful at keeping me informed of arrival times, so that I never have to wait around all day for a tech that never shows up-- That is never an issue with The Comfort Authority. They are dependable and courteous!

What a pleasure it was to have Eric and Dane come out for service today. The AC wasnt cooling and I was starting to sweat it, both literally and figuratively, because its a typical hot summer in Tampa. Within minutes they had diagnosed the problem and were able to fix it right away. While they were here they also educated me and answered all my questions. They also helped me diagnose with my broken water heater and gave me an estimate for a new one. Good to know they have payment plans for those inevitable big jobs. Im so grateful I found this company a couple years ago. I recommend them to anyone and I will never use anyone else. And definitely sign up for the care plan so your a/c hums happy all year long.

What an amazing service and experience. Would highly recommend The Comfort Authority for any Air Conditioning services. Their technician, Luis, was methodical in his approach to the issue my A/C unit was having and within a few minutes figured out what the problem was. My A/C unit has been out for two days. I had a technician from Red Cap, which I had a service contract with, come both days and check the A/C unit they have been servicing for the past two years. Their technician couldn’t figure why the unit was showing a locked rotor code (04) and quoted me $6,700 for replacing the compressor and new refrigerant because more than likely that was the problem. The unit is not even 5 years old and is still under the manufacturer’s warranty for parts and labor. After declining Red Cap’s quote I went to the manufacturer webpage and found an authorized dealer that could verify if the compressor was faulty. That’s when I found The Comfort Authority and what a difference. I’m glad I decided to check for a second opinion even if I would have to pay out of pocket since I didn’t have a service contract with them YET. Luis identified the compressor wasn’t faulty, the fault was a bad starter kit that Red Cap installed this same year and went bad. I called Red Cap to let them know what was wrong and that their technician didn’t identify this issue both previous days and that it was a part they installed under their service warranty. They put me on hold and then told me that part was in order and would take a couple days and would call me back. I knew Red Cap didn’t identify that part was needed and that it’s a common starter kit which every A/C technician have in their vehicle. I told them exactly that and they put me on hold again to check with dispatch, after waiting over 5 minutes on hold Red Cap told me they couldn’t reach dispatch and didn’t want to let me wait on hold for long. I informed them to cancel my service contract at that moment, told them to tell dispatch not to call me as I wouldn’t be needing their services anymore. I would be happier paying out of pocket to replace the starter kit and switch my service contract with The Comfort Authority which I did. The Comfort Authority technician, Luis, was informative, knew what he was doing, showed me everything he was doing, and explained why he was doing it and what it meant. The A/C unit has no issues, the compressor is not faulty and is working as it should and it was within the manufacturers recommended readings. Luis not only checked the outside unit but also the inside unit and thermostat, he also ensured everything else within the unit was working properly and within the recommended readings. Overall, I’m extremely satisfied with their service, I signed up for the service contract which also includes plumbing and would be sleeping comfortably tonight thanks to them.

Michael diagnosed why water was in my overflow pan while the A/C was still running on my 1-yr old system. He came the morning after I phoned. His communication skills were exceptional and his manner comforting in the aftermath of Hurricanes Helene and Milton. He respected my property and cleaned up after his work. He analyzed the system, replaced the bad float switches, cleaned out the drain and installed surge protectors. I like how he showed and explained the problems he saw and what could done to fix them. He was also mindful of insurance and warranty claims.

Update: we were so pleased with the service they provided for our HVAC that we decided to hire them for our water heater replacement (yes they do plumbing too!). Eric was on time, efficient, and communicative throughout the process. Only took him a couple hours from start to finish to complete. Very pleased.Our HVAC had stopped working in the dead of summer. I left a message for Comfort Authority as they were highly recommended by neighbors, and they called me back first thing the following morning to schedule a tech to come out. Michael was fantastic, he was diligent in his diagnosis and gave me a few options. We deemed it necessary to just replace our 22 year-old unit and Michael immediately had Derek come out to draw me up some figures and gave me plenty of options. They got us on the schedule for the following day for the replacement and gave us some portable AC units to hold us over until the new HVAC was up and running. Gary came and installed it for us and was very diligent in showing me exactly what was done. I highly recommend these guys, they are hard-working and very thorough.

We recently hired The Comfort Authority to install 2 new air conditioning systems in our 1926 St. Petersburg, FL. home. It was a huge, multi-faceted, and time-consuming project as three rooms didnt have any AC vents, while all other rooms had vents that were too small for the amount of air being blasted through. This caused the old system to be extremely loud. (It was also completely inefficient as the temperature never went below 80 degrees Fahrenheit.)My husband being a general contractor, we knew from our very first consultation that we were dealing with trustworthy professionals. And now that the project is complete, we simply cannot say enough good things about the entire experience, especially about our outstanding technician, Peter Bates.Considering the extent of the work, the installation and construction involved went incredibly smoothly. Peter and his team arrived on time and worked diligently to get everything set up inside and outside our home. They were so respectful of our property, ensuring minimal disruption and cleaning up thoroughly after themselves every day. My parents are snowbirds and have a condo in Tampa that they only live in half the year. I went to check on it on a Friday and noticed the AC wasn’t working. Comfort Authority was able to get Mike out the next day to diagnose the issue. He found a blown fuse from a recent storm and replaced it, but he also noticed the coolant in the system was very low. Upon further inspection he determined there was a leak at the outside unit. He explained what a repair would entail and the cost. He was also able to get Derek from the sales team to come out the same day and give us a quote on a new unit so we could weigh our cost options. In the end, we decided on a new unit. The team was able to schedule the install the next day. Gary and Ren were our install team. They showed up promptly the next morning, explained the process and the paperwork and then started the install. They wore booties inside and kept the home very clean. Once completed, they walked us through the new system to make sure we understood everything. All of the Comfort Authority staff was courteous and pleasant. They made a very unfortunate event a little more bearable.I would highly recommend Comfort Authority.

Our A/C stopped working late yesterday afternoon and The Comfort Authority was able to get a technician out first thing this morning.Rick quickly diagnosed the problem, and had the replacement part in stock and brought to the house. While he was waiting for the blower motor part to be delivered, he cleaned the blower wheel. He had cool air blowing and our service call complete within 2 hours. I called the Comfort Authority because I was not happy with my previous HVAC service company. I chose them based on universally positive reviews on Google, Better Business Bureau, Yelp and Angies List. Making an appointment was easy. Rick Haven arrived on schedule and listened patiently as I explained all the problems I was having with my system. He then proceeded to do a thorough examination of our compressor and air handler. He showed us pictures of each component and explained all the readings he obtained in his tests. We now feel confident our system is in good working order. Thanks Rick. Hope you enjoyed the soup.This is a follow-up review. It’s been 2 years since my original post. Unfortunately, time had not been kind to our 10 year old HVAC system. It’s time for a replacement. During our annual checkup, our technician, Tony, pointed out a couple of costly repairs that needed to be done. Rather than sinking $2000 into an old system, we agreed to meet with one of their specialists to discuss a new system. Derrick arrived the same day and spent about 90 minutes evaluating our system and discussing our options. We decided to go with a new system that could be installed the next day. The following morning 2 technicians arrived and began the work of removing our outdoor unit as well as the air handler which is in our second-floor attic. Gary and Rob were excellent. Very thorough, neat and professional. It took more than 8 hours to complete the installation. We now have a reliable system that we hope will keep our home cool for many years to come. Thanks for the hard work.Follow-up review. I called the Comfort Authority since it was the first cold day of the season since our new system was installed. The system was not blowing in warm air, so I gave them a call and they were able to send someone right out to diagnose the problem. Apparently a valve the controls whether the system produces cool or warm air was not tightened properly when the system was installed. Problem quickly solved by technical Glenn Betancourt. Thanks.Follow-up review. Michael Kennedy came out and performed our annual system check-up and maintenance. He was very thorough and communicated well throughout the process. He identified a failed UV unit that has been on the system and its predecessor for a number of years and was able to replace it with a new unit during the same visit. Very happy with Michaels work and the Comfort Authority in general.

From the moment I called and spoke with Gabriel I was comfortable with my decision. She was very friendly and knowledgeable; I could hear her beautiful smile through the phone. The very next day James came out. What a pleasure to meet him. Also very friendly and knowledgeable. A very comfortable person you could envision being your neighbor. He was very honest and provided us the pros and cons of repair verses a new unit. Once we agreed on a new unit, before we knew it Derek was at our door! Another wonderful human, very personable and comfortable to be around. He went over our options, we went with the surge protectors, the air purifying system and of course that amazing 10 yr warranty for parts and services. Both men were very friendly, did not feel like just some random strangers in our home trying to make a sale. Then, installation day came. Peter & Ren YOU ROCK!!! They were both so respectful putting on shoe booties, laying down tarps. Ren even brought in my Amazon delivery package from outside for me; talk about above and beyond! They worked together great and were very efficient. I needed a new slab, the drainage line outside fixed, they did it all. They even cleaned around where the new A/C was installed inside. I am very pleased with the service I received from beginning to end! Honestly, everyone I had the pleasure of working with deserves a gold star and I hope the company works to continue to keep such a fine staff. We called them to our new house to ensure everything was working properly and when they showed up, I immediately recognized Chase Prather, the same technician that provided excellent service at our old house. I was relieved to see a familiar face and he did not disappoint. He checked our new system, made a few adjustments and gave great recommendations in which we chose to move forward with. Let’s just start by saying that I have high standards and I’m not necessarily an “easy” customer. Let’s then add to the situation some previous experiences with various contractors doing horribly ugly things to our house. One more thing to add: the new AC was going to require some custom carpentry because the new unit was not the same size as the old. AC guys are not carpentry experts and let’s just say that I was super nervous.I made the sales guy send me copies of warranties and paperwork before I would sign anything. I got them to agree to not use spray foam in writing before I would sign anything. I “supervised” the installation and asked tons of questions.These guys did great work. They were super polite and even brought me over to “supervise” key points that I might have missed otherwise (because I didn’t stay outside the whole time or anything). They communicated well throughout the whole process. They ordered custom fabricated shrouds to make sure that the new installation looked 10x better than what I had before.It looks great. They said it would probably be in the morning but Chris arrived and rapidly diagnosed the issue and fixed it. They had to disassemble the old air handler to get it out through a very narrow entry. They had to disassemble the new unit to get it into the ceiling and then reassemble it. Replaced the condenser too. Tough job done well. No mess left behind and no collateral damage of any kind. They are my top choice. Teamwork, technical expertise and huge work ethic.

Jason was extremely tenacious and kept going until he figured it out. Extremely professional and by the way, loved the rest at troubleshooting breast cancer awareness (pink) booties.This is my first posting. I cant say enough good things about The Comfort Authority. This allowed my to take my time, do a lot of my own research and set up 5 company visits to our home and present their quotes. I selected the five based on what their online reviews (Google, Yelp and BBB) stated, the brands they carried and their websites themselves. The Comfort Authority was number 4 of 5.When I called TCA, the representative (I’ve forgotten her name) was super friendly and energetic. After explaining what I was interested in, she quickly found me an available time slot for a sales rep to meet with us. This first engagement was very customer friendly.The sales rep, Derek, arrived on time with a text sent in advance which included a quick bio about him. To keep this concise, the thing that impressed me most about Derek’s visit was that his first focus was on what was the best option for our 70+ year old, very inefficient home rather than what the highest end options might be. Before he even took a look at the house or the existing system, he sat down at our kitchen table and listened to what our current situation and concerns were. From my research, I figured I would need at larger unit that was either duel stage or inverter technology. After reviewing the situation, Derek actually recommended a less sophisticated (though still vastly better) product than the existing A/C than I thought we would need. He also made sure the unit met the qualifications for the Federal tax credit. Within a couple of hours, I had a quote that was better than I expected - and could have been lower if I were able to have the work done the next day but travel commitments prevented that. He checked in with later that day and the next morning to make sure I didn’t have any lingering questions or concerns. As an added bonus, since both my wife and I work from, Derek committed to supply two portable AC’s to give some relief while the installation occurred. This was definitely one of the best sales interactions I’ve had.The installation team, led by Gary, was also excellent. The crew of three were very professional and polite. They arrived on time - around 8:30 am and quickly got to work which included laying projection for our floors and setting up the portable AC units. From the very beginning, Gary and team walked us through what the entire procedure would be and what to expect through out the day. At regular intervals, Gary would provide updates of the progress by sharing photos taken of the different work steps. A unique concern of ours was that one of our guest bedrooms historically has had little, if any, airflow. Once in the attic, the team identified the issue and corrected it as a normal part of the install. The full install took about 12 hours, but one of the first thing Gary told us in the morning is it takes him however long it takes him to get it right! They finished up running various cooling and heating tests and verifying the thermostat was operating properly.Two days after the install, we are very happy with the results. Our home is far more comfortable and, even though we haven’t seen a utility bill yet, I can already tell the unit is running less. Overall, I will be recommending The Comfort Authority to friends and neighbors in need of new HVAC products.

My AC went out on a Sunday morning and I called The Comfort Authority to schedule a service call. Being a Sunday , I was totally expecting to have to wait until Monday before anyone was available. Much to my surprise I received a call back 20 minutes later telling me a technician was on his way. David Hood arrived at my house and had the unit up and running in no time. After the AC began cooling the house, he stayed a while to monitor the system and ensure it did not go down again. Before leaving he verified the temperature at the vents was correct and told me not to hesitate calling him back if the unit went down again that day. I was extremely impressed with Davids professionalism and I could tell he knew his stuff. He explained to me what he was doing and answered all of my questions. I never once felt like he was being dishonest or trying to sell me some unneeded repair.Comfort Authority has done an excellent job hiring professionals who do a great job and are honest with their customers. I have always had a good experience with them over the years from the time they installed my AC system to the few times Ive had to call for service. If you are looking for a great company that does quality work and treats their customers well. You wont go wrong in hiring The Comfort Authority.

The Comfort Authority installed our unit 7 years ago and we are still very happy with the unit and the professionalism and service they provide. Chase and Romeo were just here today to fix a problem we had and everything was still covered under warranty. We couldnt be happier! Highly recommended
