Tim’s crew rewired the 2nd story of our old St. Paul house and removed the old knob and tube in advance of an insulation project.The crew was great, worked quickly and efficiently, showed up on time and finished up quickly. They did a great job minimizing damage to the old plaster and lath walls and left the place spotless when they left for the night.Super nice guys on the crew and Tim was great to work with on getting a detailed estimate and explaining our options.We’re super happy with the work that was done and highly recommend Tim.

Weve used Tim Kunkel Electric for several projects, ranging from a couple small jobs like re-feeding a dryer circuit and installing an EV charger to a complete kitchen re-wire and service panel move/upgrade. Of all the contractors weve worked with on our house remodel, theyve been the best by far. Jack was always friendly and courteous and very accommodating with both of us working from home. Theyre very familiar with working with old houses and old wiring, so if youve got knob and tube theyre the ones to call. They know their electrical code and dont cut corners. Tims upfront with the pricing and their pricing is competitive.The thing we appreciated most though is we were always consulted when there were decisions to make. Jack would explain the options and give the pros and cons and let us decide how we wanted to proceed. Weve been burned in the past by this from other contractors just making a decision that made their job easier but complicated the next steps, so this was really refreshing.We cant recommend them highly enough. Weve had a lot of meh experiences, so working with Tim and Jack has truly been a pleasure.

Weve had Tim and his team at our house for two separate projects and both times have been superb. Theyre efficient, friendly, professional, and their rates are the most competitive in the Twin Cities. Ill never use another electrician. Bonus: When we needed other services (plumbing, gutters, etc.), the contractors Tim recommended were equally fantastic. There is nobody better!

He then scheduled an appointment for the same day as my call so that we wouldn’t be without electricity in our bedrooms! I was amazed by the prompt and helpful service. Our landlord hired Tim, and associates, to take the old fuse box out and switch it to circuit breakers. BEST LANDLORD! Tim scheduled the job within days of the original phone call. They promptly arrived, and started working, right away. Upon completion, Tim scheduled an inspection with Xcel for the next morning. Passed the inspection with flying colors! The inspector said that Tim had done a FABULOUS job. We agree! Tim, and associates, were extremely courteous in explaining anything that we had questions about. They didnt assume that we should know everything. Were senior citizens, and they were very cool with us. We would rehire Tim Kunkel, if electrical work is needed, in the future. Tim and his team are beyond professional. These guys are punctual, organized, knowledgeable and considerate. My wife and I were working out of the house all while their crew worked on our kitchen electrical, a few random electrical needs to our second floor, and upgrading our panel. Throughout that time they would ask what our schedules were with video calls/meetings and always ask when they needed to do something loud and disruptive. They always came the day and exact time they specified for the work and when they needed to push times they communicated it effectively. Our kitchen electrical/lighting is a dream and the upgrade from our old 20 breaker panel to the 42 panel we have now is game changing. Well be hiring these guys again for any future electrical work.

I had Tim and his crew do a full overhaul of the electrical system inside my condo and the experience from start to finish was a positive one.During the initial bid Tim treated me kindly, respectfully and didnt talk down to me (even when I clearly showed my ignorance of electrical systems). He used an engaging, helpful tone to talk me through the job, understand my requests, and explain its electrical requirements. It can be frustrating, confusing and expensive to hire electricians (or other well qualified professionals). I was aware my job would not be cheap ( it included a new panel/circuit set-up, several new outlets, a dryer hookup, LED lighting and switches). Tim gave me a complete bid, as well as breaking out individual components in case my budget prevented me from completing the entire project at one time. He was helpful in explaining which segments of the job were tied into other parts.Tim and his team completed the work over a number of days, and while there were a couple minor delays in email communication, Tim remained available to me via text (and calls) promptly & regularly. The project was completed in the timeframe we agreed on and I would definitely use/recommend Tim for any future electrical work!

Called Tim on a Saturday and after coming out to our house to look at something we thought was a breaker issue, it turned out to be an issue with the wires coming into the house. This problem was resolved by Xcel energy, but Time was prompt, ethical and very pleasant to work with. We will be calling Tim for all of our electrical needs in the future.

Tim did an awesome job! Everything connected neat and tidily, sweeping up after himself and even putting an extra GFCI on the panel for free!Hired Tim to replace my service panel, upgrading it from 100 amps to 200 amps and get rid of my udersized, underpowered, improperly wired and unpermitted panel that came with the house. He also put whole home surge protection as well as some specialized power (30amp NEMA twistlock+more) to go to my basement room which he was able to do for a reasonable price and whithin a reasonable timeframe. Everything looks great and no more blowing fuses!!!Nice to see someone who takes real pride in their work and business, it shows from the cool vans and stickers to the professional, clean and neat work he does. Would hire again!

Tim was amazingly responsive with sending an estimate and scheduling the job, he explained everything clearly, and he and his assistant did quick, clean, quality work. It was a complicated job and certainly a long day for them, so we really appreciated the extra time and effort they put in to get it all done and leave everything clean. Can’t recommend them enough.

AMAZING!!! I am so grateful. Our AC wasnt working because of an issue with the breaker. Another electrician said we needed a very expensive solution that involved replacing our entire panel and external wiring. Tim came out the day I called, fixed the issue in about five minutes, and didnt even charge us. I will DEFINITELY use Tim when I need electrical work in the future, and will recommend him to all my friends. THANK YOU TIM!

Im in awe of their service! I called late morning and they were able to see me that afternoon. They were able to get the service in done in a very timely manner and the quality of work was great! We had an outlet burn out in our kitchen and Tims employee Jack was able to come in a few days and replace it and disconnect some wiring that we werent using that wasnt orthodox. Jack also answered my usual peppering of questions with professional courtesy. I recommend them to all my friends that need electrical work. These guys are the best.
