We had an exceptional experience working with Jon and his team during our home remodel. They installed new ceiling lighting across 3 bedrooms, changed all switches and installed new light fixtures around the home (and went above and beyond when we had additional requests, including fixing a Chandelier that wasnt part of the project). Jon made some great suggestions on our kitchen lighting, especially the lights under the cabinets. Overall a wonderful experience and we look forward to working with Super Electric again. Lastly, a big shout out to Steve on Jons team whos knowledge and skills are exceptional. Thank you!

OK, I was just the dad handling logistics for a house my kids bought while living abroad. They needed to have knob & tube replaced in about half of their 100-year-old home. What I said to Jon was, “Everything seems great to me and I am super impressed by how few holes there are in the [old-time lath & plaster] walls & ceilings. Your guys were very professional and did a good job keeping me informed.” I still feel this way and if -- as seems inevitable -- we need work done in our own 110+-year old house, I will be sure to reach out to Jon!

I loved working with Super Electric, John and his team have amazing customer service and did great work!I especially loved how easy the quote process was! John came and did a walkthrough of all the things I wanted done around the house, gave a free estimate where he provided a quote on site, and they have good pricing.The whole super electric team were very quick, clean in my space, and really went ABOVE AND BEYOND with my project!I will be using them again in the future and would recommend them to anyone looking for an electrician.

We just purchased a 1950s home this winter and wanted some small updates: bedrooms outlets grounded, a few GFCI updates on outdoor and basement outlets, etc. Jons estimate was super reasonable and he was thorough when checking things out. When he came back to drop his team off, they were able to add in updating the wiring for a dishwasher install thanks to Jon noticing we had a dishwasher waiting for install and asking about its wiring situation (previous 2002 dishwasher was hardwired). The team was great -- super personable, clean, and quick. My hope, as always with house projects, is that I wont have to call them again (lol), but I definitely will call Super Electric!

Phenomenal! I initially hired Super Electric to work on new wiring for an addition to our turn-of-the-century craftsman. Right away, I knew we had the right electricians for the job. Super Electric is an expert at dealing with the peculiarities of old houses. Jon and his team were always on time and friendly, and they made the project a true partnership.I was so impressed we expanded the scope to a complete rewire to remediate our old knob-and-tube and add additional lighting to the existing home. I couldnt be happier with the results!

John and his crew did an amazing job on a huge job in a home that we had bought in the Highland Park area that needed a ton of electrical work that was not expected. It all started with needing an extra outlet for an AC unit. It turned out the home wasn’t even up to code being only at 60 amps versus the required 100. John gave me a fair price and he and his crew did excellent work. We will definitely be using him again! Highly recommend!

In preparation for a kitchen remodel I needed to have an outlet added to my kitchen. I also had a situation where my washer and drier were blowing the circuit all the time and I wanted to change up some ceiling fans. I was shocked at how low the estimate was and immediately decided to go with Jon and his team. They were on time, did great work that I am satisfied with, and even were able to fix the cut-rate recessed lighting the previous owners had installed. He was able to add the recessed lighting part the day they came out to do the work as we had not discussed at the initial visit. They worked quickly and were pleasant to have around the house. They did a nice job of cleaning up before they left. I will definitely be calling them again for any electrical work I need done.

Working with Jon and his electricians was an absolute pleasure. I needed to rewire my 1927 house to get rid of the knob and tube wiring. I called a couple other local companies and they didn’t seem too thrilled to tackle such a job. Jon got a hold of me within a few minutes of reaching out to him and was able to give me an estimate within a day or two. He was extremely thorough in looking over my house, made sure all the fixes & additions were noted, and that I understood the plan of attack and estimate. His electricians were able to start the next week and they arrived on time every morning. It only took five days to rewire my house - that blew my mind! They took care and were extremely creative when needing to go through my plaster walls and ceiling - only a couple holes around the house when it absolutely couldn’t be avoided. When I’d get home from work every day, the house was spotless. They even found some old letters from 1929 in my attic and left them out for me to read. Jon and his team really know their stuff and provide a great customer experience. The estimate was reasonable and only a few tweaks were needed at the end due to some unexpected fixes (a bathroom fan motor that was burnt out and no longer made was fully replaced). If you want the job done correctly, this is the company!

We hired Super Electric to complete an Electrical Panel replacement, rewire a bathroom, install a new outlet, replace 3 light fixtures, & hardwire 3 smoke/CO2 detectors. I called Jon for an estimate & he was out to my home the very next day. He evaluated the work to be completed and gave an estimate on the spot. I accepted the agreement the next day and the work was scheduled to be complete within a couple weeks. Jon & Steve arrive exactly when they said they would. They completed the work in 2 days. The quality of work was top notch. The home was kept clean with drop cloths & cleaned up very well after each project. During the work, we had an additional light fixture replace and they ended up completing more work then planned in the bathroom. Jon could have charged more for this but didnt, he stuck to his original quote. Upon final inspection, the city inspector had nothing but positive comments about Super Electric & told us right away that we hired a good contractor. We highly recommend Super Electric and will use them again for future electrical work.We have hired a variety of contractors to complete different projects in our home & can honestly say our experience with Super Electric was one of the best.

Super Electric is excellent and I highly recommend them for any electrical needs. They were professional and kind during the initial quote and at every step of the installation process. I started with a mix of knob & tube and crudely installed updates, and Super Electric rewired the entire house, upgraded my panel and service, installed new outlets & lights, and set me up for any future projects in my 1920s home. The two folks that worked on my home left it as clean if not cleaner than when they came! Worked quickly and had great communication.

I’ve used Super Electric for several jobs now, first when I owned a 1920’s house in Saint Paul and again now that I own a 1950’s house in Minneapolis. What I like about working with them is some electricians will tell you ‘no it can’t be done’ and super electric will out line options, and also offer helpful suggestions. For example, I wanted a ceiling light in the walk in closet of my Saint Paul house. A different electrician told me it wasn’t possible because the closet was right under the eaves. Super electric was able to put in a thin LED and wire a switch. Another time I was having a peninsula installed in the kitchen and Super Electric recommended I get an outlet installed in the end of the peninsula. It’s not a particularly expensive job but it was so incredibly useful to have an outlet there later.

We hired Super Electric to convert our old fuse box to circuit breakers and to do some various other electrical work in our house. I contacted three highly rated electricians for bids, and of these Super Electric had the best price.I am very happy with the work they did and very glad I hired them. The owner, Jon, was polite, professional, and clearly very experienced. The work was done exactly as described, fuses/switches place exactly where I wanted, etc. The new circuit panel is very neatly and cleanly labeled, which is so nice after living with our 100 year old fuse box with a mess of poorly labeled circuits. In addition to the circuit panel, they installed a 3-way switch for our kitchen light, repaired a stairway 3-way switch which wasnt functioning, installed a programmable switch for our porch light, and installed a couple other new circuits and outlets. Everything was well done. They even deducted $75 from my final bill because one of the work items took less time than they originally estimated. I really appreciated that honesty and fairness!Overall I am 100% satisfied with the experience and will definitely be contacting Super Electric the next time I am in need of electrical work.

I have hired Jon twice now and both times was extremely pleased with his professionalism and his work. Both times he was right on time when he said he would be. I had some old-fashioned recessed light fixtures that I needed switched out for some new ones, but the ones they make now are not the same size, and I couldnt figure out how to make them fit. Jon came up with a creative solution that worked beautifully. I also needed some new outlets on the kitchen backsplash, so they had to be cut into existing tile. The job was done without cracking any of the tiles and looks great. They used drop cloths everywhere and cleaned up good after they were finished, too. I would definitely recommend Super Electric.

Jon & his team helped me out with a project in the fall of 2021. We needed 3 ceiling fans/lights installed, a new outlet above my fireplace for a TV where they had to carefully cut through the wall to run a new line from another outlet, install a new panel, fix a few outlets & install/ upgrade some outdoor outlets, etc. They were knowledgeable, courteous, responsive, professional, had very reasonable estimates (the same as the final costs), cleaned up any related mess, & completed the full project in a timely manner &within their stated timeframe. We are still happy with the results 6+ months later. I would definitely use them again & recommend their services.

Absolutely fantastic. We recently had Super Electric do a big job on our older home in St. Paul that consisted of moving and replacing the electric panel, replacing old K&T wiring, installing new outlets, etc. They were always on time, honest, didnt up charge and ultimately did a fantastic job. They even went above and beyond when the situation called for it and did not charge extra. We were lucky to have found them and would use them again in a heartbeat. Highly recommended!

We hired Jon to rewire our kitchen during our remodel project. We found him highly rated on Angies List with very good reviews. We had called a couple of other electrial contractors but the big difference was, when we called Super Electric to come to give us a bid, Jon came out promptly and was right on time. Everybody else seemed bothered that we called. Jons bid seemed fair and reasonable and we decided not to pursue any other bids. When that agreed date & time for Super Electric to start, I looked out the window early and Jon & Steve were out on the street waiting for that start time. They removed the old wiring, roughed in the new wiring and cleaned up the area, probably cleaner than it was when they started. What really impressed me was that the electrical inspector was very fimiliar with Super Electrics work and stated that Jon was one of the last true craftsman of his profession. Jon and Steve just finished up installing the new light fixtures (ceiling & under cabinet), outlets and switches. Jon showed up a little early so he could show the different colors of wall plates & outlets to choose from to best match up to the tiled backsplash, which was really nice that he had those options available. When they were finished, they again cleaned up after themselves better than it was. If we ever have the need for an electrician again, I will be calling Super Electric. I highly recommend them!

Super Electric rewired the knob and tube on my main floor. They did ~13 outlets and 7 light fixtures, plus added some recessed lighting in my living and dining rooms.The lighting looks great and they did a good job making minimal cuts into the plaster walls and ceiling. Patching up shouldnt be too bad.The inspector had no concerns with their work.I got 3 bids for this job since it was fairly large, and their price was very fair.

We were remodeling our kitchen and we called Jon gave us an estimate to wire a microwave, dishwasher and garbage disposal and under cabinet lighting. After the cabinets were installed I called him and asked to see the undercabinet lighting he recommended. He made an extra trip and left one of the units. We scheduled the work to be done in a couple weeks and Jon and his employee (sorry, cant recall his name) completed it in less than one day. The electrical inspector came today and gave the work a thumbs up!!! Thanks!

We had Super Electric install the electric hookup for our hot tub and would recommend to anyone needing electrical work. Jon was able to work with our schedule and maneuver around the delivery of the hot tub, which was delayed due to complications with the site. City electrical inspector said that the electrician did good work. Would definitely hire again for any electrical work needed.

We hired Jon to update from fuses to breakers, convert from overhead to underground service, install and connect service to an outdoor spa, and install a new outdoor light fixture and GFI outlet. We located Jon on Angies List. After having him and a couple other electricians out for estimates, he was not only the most reasonably priced but made us aware of all updates needed to meet code and asked all the right questions to ensure the job met our expectations. The work was completed on time as promised, working with our busy schedules. He also managed through a few unexpected hiccups professionally and with the level of detail we hoped for. His Journeyman was equally professional. When completed they cleaned up after themselves each day. When the time comes we will call Jon again, and you should too. As for the reviewers post that Jon did not return a call I can not see that happening. Jon was always quick to return our calls and emails and make occasion to answer the phone on our job.

Jon replaced an old circuit breaker panel in my basement that was out of conformance. He was professional and clean and meticulous. After replacing my old circuit panel during his checkout he found an old wall mount outlet that wasn’t grounded it was a saftey hazard. I could not recommend anyone as highly as Jon. When the inspector came to check out his work he passed with flying colors. If I ever need any electrical work done I will call Jon.

I sent an email to the owner of super electric ( Jon) extremely late one evening last week. John did get ahold of me the following day and we met at the home that afternoon John was very knowledgeable and was able to put a estimate together. I did check his availability and he was out until the first week in March I did have a second electrician come out that same day to give me a second estimate the second electrician was able to get me in a little bit quicker.I think John would have done an exceptional job.

I guted the majority of a duplex Ive done this many times before and worked maney electricians. The one inspector said Ive inspected Johns work for 20 years Ive never had any issues with any of it...... If youve ever dealt with inspectors in the City of Minneapolis they are grumpy bureaucratic City employee types for them to say they havent had any trouble with his work in 20 years is quite a compliment this guy is top-notch.

I worked with Super Electric to rewire my whole house (replace all knob and tube) as well as to upgrade my panel and add outlets to support all electric appliances instead of gas. I had a wonderful experience and recommend them wholeheartedly. Communication was prompt, they showed up on schedule, they worked hard, and they did an outstanding job cleaning up after their work each day. I ended up with very minimal patching to do (way less than expected), as they were creative and effective at finding solutions with my old, quirky house. They came in right at their estimate, and they were very reasonable compared to other bids I got. They were also very considerate of my request to wear masks, which I appreciated, and just generally great folks to have in my space—I felt very comfortable with them here. Note that they don’t do small jobs or emergencies—big jobs only. EDIT: please see the owner’s response below, re: smaller jobs. Good to know!

Our house was built in 1912, so surprises often come up when we have work done, and they just handled everything so smoothly - definitely our go-to for electrical work!

Super Electric what can I say but Jon was great when I first called him, I had already had an estimate done and I was calling for a second opinion and based on what I told him over the phone he beat the first estimate by $400 dollars, I was skeptical and asked how can you say that without seeing it first. Jon assured me he had done that kind of work many times but he would not do anything without giving me a written estimate first. So we set up a time and he came out and accessed the situation. Now I need everyone to understand I am no expert and I was depending on what Jon was going to say and if he was going to be comparable to my last estimate. I also want everyone to know that I described to Jon the work that I thought I needed based on my 1st estimate. I have to say that because what I described to Jon he could have easily written his estimate to say whatever he wanted and as long as it was comparable or lower than my last estimate, I would have went with whatever he had said and would have had the feeling that he saved me some money. So getting to the point, not only did not take advantage of my family and I but surprisingly he saved us a minimum of 2 grand yes $2000. I am very grateful that someone like Jon and Super Electric exists. My problem was solved and again I just want to say Thank you Jon very much appreciated !!!
