    Taylor and Jose were excellent in all aspects of the project. First of all communication was great and they were on time as promised. During the project they were respectful and paid attention to being careful and keeping the area as clean as possible. They were polite in any interactions my wife and I had. When one quick question came up after leaving Tony was on the spot and came right back to let us know what to expect overnight. A-1 service start to finish.

    Exceptional work thus far. We had a root clogging our storm drain line that was causing water to overflow at the gutter and get into our crawl space. I called about getting a scope and had an appointment the next day. It was scoped and unclogged in less than 2 hrs. Resolved our issue and now we can address the crawl space. Highly recommend. Extremely careful yet aggressive in their work, a two day project only lasted 5 hours with our home completely returned to pre-work condition as well as a renewed sewer.     Kamryn came out and gave me an estimate. He encouraged me to stand with him while he ran the scope and showed me the issues as he found them. He then explained options and gave me a detailed estimate before he left my house. The offered price was great compared with other offers. All around totally positive experience. I am selling the house and the buyer has agreed to take on the project, but if I had contracted the work I would have gone with Sewer Renewal Specialists for sure.

I had 70 feet of old cast iron pipes that needed fixing (Cured-in-Place-Pipe Lining), plus some repairs underneath the house. Their price was fair, and they were able to schedule and complete the job right away. There were no hassles or hiccups in the process.     SRS did a camera inspection and it appeared that our rain drain lines were clogged. We scheduled a hydrowashing. After Tony spent an hour trying to unclog them it turned out they had been disconnected - which the camera could not show. He said he would charge us nothing for the inspection or unclogging as they wanted to solve our problem but couldnt. When we said we felt we should pay something, he said, were interested in satisfying our customers. He finally agreed to take a fairly nominal payment for their work. Dont get customer service like that very often! We highly recommend.

    I was late but Justin stayed until I arrived. We inspected the job, a possible leak in the water supply, he thoroughly inspected and found no leaks. Even though there was no work, he explained what could have happened. Thanks to Justin I was confident that there was no current leak and it must have been a toilet leak. Thanks for helping me out.

    Our entire experience with Sewer Renewal Specialists couldn’t have gone better. From David’s initial visit coming up with a great plan that 3 other plumbers couldn’t, to the office staff’s amazing communication to the respectful crews who completed our two big projects (big to us). Dylan ran our jobs and was friendly, polite, conscientious, knowledgeable, and assuring that he could get our complex project completed to a good result. All of the crew members were great. Walter and José, again conscientious and respectful and hard working. Taylor was the lead for the liner installation. He was friendly, professional and knowledgeable. He worked his tail off staying until after 8pm the final day to get us all buttoned up. Overall, we are happy with the work done, the fair price and trust that these guys will stand behind their work.     David (Owner), Cindy, Ellie and the whole crew were fabulous to work with on our tricky sewer line repair. We were on a tight time frame because we were selling our home. During the home inspection we were made aware that our sewer line was at the end of its life. We received 3 other bids for the job. Other companies needed to dig up our yard and cut through our concrete patio. David came out and used his high tech equipment to solve our issue with little yard disturbance. Plus his bid was less than the other companies. His equipment and extensive knowledge allowed us to fix our sewer line with in the time frame to sell our home!!     From the moment I spoke to the scheduling agent at Sewer Renewal Specialists, I knew this company had integrity and were going to deliver excellent customer service. I wasnt wrong! They fit me in right away and I had a next-day appointment. As soon as I hung up making the appointment I had a text from them confirming the appointment. The next day I received a text informing me that my technician would be arriving at 1pm. one hour before the appointment I received another text with my technicians name and photo so I knew who was coming.     Our experience with Sewer Renewal and David was fantastic! A plumbing contractor had diagnosed a need for a new sewer line, so I had David come out to assess the sewer line and discuss any needed repairs. He did his research ahead of time about when it was last replaced, was able to show me the sewer line on camera, and was clear and thorough in making sure I understood how each component of the system worked, areas of concern, and potential fixes. His honesty about what work was NOT needed was refreshing and will save us a ton of money on unnecessary repairs. Scheduling was easy and the whole experience couldn’t have been better. Hiring home contractors can be such a hassle, but I will absolutely use David and Sewer Renewal for any future needs.

    TLDR: Hire these guys.Every step of the way, this team has been excellent to us. We went into this project thinking we only needed to adjust a low point on our pipe that was identified when we bought our home 2 years ago. As work progressed, some oddities with our property and sewer were discovered. Despite their team also juggling large emergency jobs elsewhere, they were communicative and even apologetic as our timeline shifted.The scope expanded and my wife and I were concerned this would eat up all our funds for home renovations we got as wedding gifts. Dave, the owner, was incredibly kind and fair to us. His solution added more work for his team. A drill was called in and a new pipe was installed. We now have a sewer line that meets code, has a grade to properly drain, and the work was done with care and attention every step of the way. No corners were cut.Ive been in a home with a backed up sewer before, and I never want to go through that again. The work was done well, explained in detail, they entertained all my curiosities, and we have peace of mind.Doing great work and being a fair business partner kept us calm and satisfied. But what really impressed me were the people that came to work. Every single person on a call, text, or at our home were kind, courteous, and accommodating. I will genuinely miss talking to this crew. They are great people top to bottom.Id say Im excited to hire them next time I need them, but with the level of work they did, I dont think Ill have the opportunity.

    Taylor and Kamryn were great to work with. The damage to our sewer pipe was much more extensive than we thought, but they stuck with it until it was done. They were very flexible about scheduling the work. It cost less than half of the bids that we got from conventional plumbers and it was much less disruptive.     I am currently in the process of buying a new home and the one outstanding item was my initial sewer line inspection as it came back saying the sewer line would need repaired. It was sent for a second opinion. The second inspector said they felt a hydro flush was all that was necessary. My deadline to submit my response to move forward in the buying process was 9:00 p.m. 1/31/24.At the last minute I decided I needed to perform the hydro flush and get a re-scope before I submitted my go/no-go response to move forward. In a frantic search at around 8:15 in the evening (on 1/30/24) I found Sewer Renewal Specialists on-line and submitted a request for service explaining my predicament.Within minutes I received a text from David asking to see the initial scope. His response...thats a tough one and his advice was to have the hydro flush performed and re-scope and arranged next day service.He arrived promptly and I arrived to the property and caught him just as he was leaving and said...it passed with a big smile.I cant thank David enough for the peace of mind he provided during one of the biggest decision making processes of my life.Onward we move to close on the house!

    Having to do a sewer line repair from our house to the street is not something you look forward to doing. But if youve got to do it (and apparently you do or you wouldnt be reading this review), Sewer Renewal Specialists makes it a lot easier to deal with. Initial contact was with Cindy in the office. She was very friendly and helpful. Joe came out to do the estimate. Took the time to show me and explain what he was seeing with the camera. Discussed the process and answered my questions. After receiving the bid, David, the owner, was very responsive to my follow up questions. Joes and Davids professionalism won them the job and the rest of the crew were just as good. Taylor and Jose did the bulk of the work with the excavation and insertion of the pipe lining. Kamryn and William arrived the next day to finish the job with pulling the balloon, closing up the pipe and refilling the hole. Finally came Garrick to do a great job with the concrete to seal the hole. All of them clearly knew what they were doing and worked very well together as teams. And they all let me hang around to watch and ask questions about the process which I enjoyed a lot. I also need to compliment them on the software they use which kept me well informed about appointments and arrival times. The bid and invoice documents were also very clear and easy to read.

    Im so glad I did my research before choosing a company! The first 3 that I looked at ended up having way too many bad reviews. Then I checked out Sewer Renewal Specialists! They had all 5 star reviews and nothing but good things to say. And the reviews were correct. Our kitchen sink was so backed up that it was coming up through the floor drain, covering the floor with sewage and nasty smelling water. Tayler came out and talked with my husband and knew exactly what to do and did it! And it wasnt a super easy job either, being as it was a basement kitchen sink and the plumbing is weird. But he got it done perfectly and affordably which wouldnt have been the case with a couple of those other places who wouldve charged us over 500 dollars for this service. The project was extensive and involved digging a trench across my entire basement floor and digging up most of my bathroom floor. Kohl was an extremely hard worker and, in addition to jackhammering and digging out the trench to access the sewer lines, he had to carry the chunks of old concrete and pipe up the basement stairs, poor man!     I had 3 companies bid relining of my sewer drain pipe. Some companies charged for scoping and estimating the work. Sewer renewal specialists did not charge to scope the pipe even without any specific issues.Sewer Renewal Specialists was the only one that quoted the full length of the pipe to the sewer main under the street. The other 2 companies assured me (incorrectly) that my responsibility ended at the curb.Although the work didnt need to be done right away it was a relief to take care of the issues before it became an emergency.They under-promised and over delivered. I was told the work would take about 8 hours. It was done in just over 5 hours.William and Taylor were friendly, informative, and communicated progress regularly during the work.

    February 2024I’ll be blunt: Sewer Renewal Specialists is the only contractor in Portland that I’d trust to do this kind of sewer renewal. This is the second project I’ve had SRS do for me (review of the first one is below this review). SRS applied an epoxy spin coat to a worn out 70 yr old, nearly horizontal 2” cast iron kitchen drain line that runs 25ft under the floor of three rooms in my finished, daylight basement. My first experience was so positive that I had them do this job and this experience was just as excellent as the first.Details: Kamryn did the bid and also did the prep at the cleanout access near the water heater. Taylor did the spray epoxy application and worked very carefully throughout the process with a high level of attention to detail. He closely monitored the epoxy application via real-time video. He did a careful inspection after each coating cycle and saw to it that the quality was very high and consistent over the entire length. The before and after videos tell the whole story. This kind of job, inside the home, can create a big mess and a lot of noise, but that was not the case. After he was done, youd never know he was there. I received excellent support from Cindy and Ellie for scheduling the job and managing the financials and also for the formal follow-up after the job was completed. Aside from everyone I had contact with being very customer oriented, everyone also does an excellent job with attention to detail and a commitment to doing their best work at every step. I also trust their materials. They use a low VOC epoxy that does not out gas and is safe for them to handle and safe for use in a home environment. Its a huge relief for me that this drain is stabilized and likely to outlast me.______________________________________________August 2023SRS is one of the absolute best, highest performing contractors I’ve ever used in 40yrs of homeownership. Their experience, professionalism, expertise, work habits, attention to detail and corporate culture deliver absolute top quality results.Summary: SRS did a superb job on my complex sewer relining that required installing CIPP in three laterals all at once. Absolutely every detail of the job came out perfect and there is not one aspect of the job that could have come out better – including the customer relations and support.The details: I solicited four contractors to bid on my complex sewer relining of two adjacent homes with private laterals that meet at the sidewalk and then join as a common lateral and go under the street to the main sewer under that sidewalk, for a total of 140 ft of 70yr old, 4” Transite sewer line with roots in both lines, exposed joints and other problems. They did the entire job with one 13ft deep excavation at the sidewalk and no disturbance of our finished basements. The team clearly enjoy working together and the fact that they are doing this process and just this process was apparent in how they worked together and executed the relining process – Cole and Camryn on excavation, Taylor, Jose, William on relining and Cole and Jacob on reconnect, backfill and landscape. SRS uses vinyl-ester epoxy resin which is superior to the styrene resin most others are using and far, far safer for the workers and anyone else who could be exposed to very harmful styrene outgassing. The Washington County (Oregon) plumbing inspector had only the highest praise for the quality of the work and approved both laterals with no conditions. I’m a retired mechanical engineer and did my homework on the technology, the process and the materials and watched the entire effort all three days. It’s very satisfying to have such a positive experience on such a critical item that directly impacts two families. It doesn’t get better than this.

Work was completed on time. Communication was great. Everything was perfect. He came right out on his anniversary (Happy Anniversary!) and checked the line, ensuring he didnt cause the damage, and even helped my neighbors diagnose where their issue was.     We randomly had our sewer back up. We called out a competitor to clear the blockage (we wish we had known about sewer renewal specialists right off the bat). They told us we had a tree root grow through our sewer line. They quoted us an astronomical price to repair the line. We decided to get another quote and luckily our friends recommended sewer renewal specialists. They were excellent to deal with from first contact. Excellent and prompt communication. Gave us great advice and was able to repair our sewer line quickly. We cannot recommend sewer renewal specialist highly enough. Hopefully we don’t have another sewer line issue but if we do Sewer Renewal will be our first and final call.

    Thank you so much!!! We discovered that our 2-inch kitchen/laundry drain pipes were fairly rotted after water started backing up and we got a scope. The pipes were so rotted that traditional repair of the worst sections didnt work, since every time they were touched they crumbled. To make matters worse, the pipes were in a concrete slab and ran both under our brand new bathroom, but also under asbestos tile that we didnt not want to cut/disturb. Sewer Renewal Specialists was the only company who would coat a 2-inch drain line in place and they did fabulous work from start to finish. The person who came out to do the bid (sorry...I forget his name) was super reassuring and professional, and Taylor, who did the actual coating, was fabulous all-around.     David (the owner) came out to scope my sewer. He was on-time, professional, knowledgeable, and efficient! And generally good natured on top of all that - it was very pleasant to chat with him as he worked to diagnose the problem. The equipment hes using is top notch - great camera view, bluetooth, I got to watch while it was being scoped. He quickly found where the break in the sewer line was (on City of Portlands side) and so... its actually out of our hands, they have to repair it, and he will send the video to the City. Cleanup was fast, not smelly (I mean, sewer line, you expect a little bit), and just well done.     Our home failed sewer inspection due to a deteriorating concrete line running to the city main. We had 2 companies give us quotes that differed by over $10k. Due to this discrepancy we decided to seek a 3rd opinion so we called Sewer Renewal Specialists. Thank goodness we did! Not only did they come in with the cheapest quote, but their CIPP technology meant only excavating a single small trench next to the house. This not only preserved our landscaping, but our driveway as well and prevented any need for flaggers/asphalt cuts in the roadway. Taylor and Willie were professional, timely, and efficient. A complicated project that involved deep excavation inside a tiny landscaped yard coupled with a required last minute replacement of the water main. Joe was very thorough in discussing site preparation and options making it simple preparing for the actual project. The onsite repair team (Taylor, Jose, John, and Kamryn) were top notch in their performance and got the job done with professionalism, skill, and care. They worked hard to get the necessary work complete and have our service back by the days end. Site was put back together as expected for such intrusive project.     After getting a $1600 flat fee for clearing our clogged sewer line, I decided to call a company that could fix our onqoing problem with a lining of our 60 year-old cast iron pipes. I was pleased to find out that the owner, David, would come out the next morning and give us a bid on re-sleeving the existing pipe and clean out the current clog at the same time. Unfortunately, he was unsuccessful at clearing the clog, so he gave us a referral to Retro Drain Cleaning. David did not charge us and said he would come back out again after the drain was cleared to hydro-jet the entire sewer line and give us a bid for the relining of the pipe, again at no charge. He said we could then decide if we wanted to have the work done. Our choice would be to continue paying drain cleaners to clear the clog every 1 or 2 years, or have Sewer Renewal do the work with a 20 year guarantee. As of today, we now have an unclogged sewer line and have contacted David to come out and give us the estimate. More to come. He is scheduled for tomorrow for a bid to fix us permanently!

    I had tree roots blocking my pipes and backing up my toilet into the sink on a Sunday. Roto Rooter came out and cleared the pipe, but they suggested that the pipe was not level so it would have to be replaced rather than cleared out and lined with a resin. When I told Sewer Renewal Specialists (I wish I could remember the persons name; he was great), he encouraged me to let him come out no charge and confirm this, because he suspected it was not true. Sure enough, he found nothing wrong with the pipe, spent more time clearing it out and then shot the resin in so it wouldnt happen again. All for half of what I would have had to pay for the Roto Rooter digging up my line and putting in new pipes. Ive had no problem since. Sewer Renewal even came out and extended the release pipe(?) for free when I had a retaining was put in. I cant praise them enough.

    We are expanding into our basement and decided to scope our sewer line to be sure it was still in good condition as to avoid needing to rip out sewer lines in a finished basement later on. However the problem was in our front yard where we had a product that was quickly found to be an inferior product (orangeburg) years ago. It needed to be replaced ASAP.Learning more about our options, David and his crew came highly recommended as an option. Instead of needing to rip up our front yard David was able to line our existing sewer line from the street to just inside our foundation after cleaning and de-scaling our entire underground sewer line. The cost was more affordable and far less intrusive than trenching a new line in. They could have come while we were gone for the day and would never have known the work had been done! All the members of his crew, David included, were friendly, happy to answer questions, and worked quickly and methodically. They cleaned up when they were done to the point I wouldn’t have known they were there. Our yard looks no different t as there is no trench. They are a well oiled machine.We are happy to have avoided any plumbing issues and also happy with the end result as we are confident this job was done at a top notch professional level as by the looks of the product and its install requirements demand.Down the road, if the rest of the sewer line under our house needs replacement, lining it is still our go to option and would certainly call Dave back.

    Clogged washer drain on an old mid century ranch. 1 regular plumber, and a drain specialist company couldnt clear the drain. I do believe they were both decent outfits, but they didnt know where the drain went, and the drain specialist recommended a very expensive and intrusive re-routing solution. David came out with a camera and locator to do a 2nd opinion estimate - no charge, very nice! Quoted a much less intrusive solution at least half the price of the previous quote, because he had the skill/tools & desire to figure out the drain system. Still, I asked him if he thought they could cut the galvy drain line in the laundry room to get a better/straight shot with a snake and a cutter head. He thought it was worth a try before doing the major job. Bingo, they did it and cleared the drain, working very well again. It may need the drain line work down the line someday on this old house, well see how it goes, but I will definitely be calling them for the major repair if and when. Love the idea of the pipe liner/renewal option for sewer lines. It is always refreshing to find a business like this. Old Portland style quality/value. Call them for sewer or drain clog quotes, you will quickly pick up on the difference.
