    I used SFW for both a construction significant dry rot repair on the south side of my 1908 house, and the final painting of it in late August of 2024. The quality of the work was excellent. For the repair, it was time + materials paying hourly, which made me very nervous. The crew leader, Chris, was very communicative and kept me posted on their progress of uncovering so much old house dry rot and then repairing it. I also inspected the project every day, and the communication and actual progress were aligned.The painting part of the project was via a contractual bid, not hourly. At the end of the project, I pointed out key areas which had been missed up high on the wall and on the foundation that the painter perceived shouldnt be included since it wasnt repaired. (But now didnt quite match the new paint!) We had a very constructive, respectful conversation and also communicated with the home office to work through a resolution. He painted up high, and Im tackling the foundation...a fair negotiation.In short, although there were a few bumps along the way, I recommend SFW based on the quality of their work and overall finished project.

    Our Portland house painting looks amazing! Obviously it needed some work and SFW is qualified to handle the painting of these older houses. You can see the before and after. I worked with Jay who helped us adjust the paint colors and accomplish the house painting within our budget. I feel like the process to apply a strong primer and prep the surfaces will give us a paint finish that will last a long time.

    I chose SFW Painting because SFW Construction (see my review on their Google page) replaced the eeeeentire south wall of my house and re-sided it, added insulation, and replaced all of the fascia/trimwork on that wall. That was amazing, professional, on budget, efficient = 5 stars to SFW Construction, thank you.SFW Painting, project managed by Jay, who oversaw this whole deal from start to finish, was equally as amazing. Even as small hiccups came to light, Jay made it right (for example, there was a day where the paint prep crew didnt make as much progress as anticipated. What did Jay/SFW do? They didnt charge us a dime for that day. They also sent us a different crew that next week. Wow. Talk about making it right!)The pictures speak for themselves, it was a huuuge amount of work and it was so professionally done. For paint preppers, ask for Stephen. For the paint crew, ASK FOR LEO! There was so much detail to my 1890s Victorian that Leo was sooo detailed-oriented to do. I credit all of this to Jay for not only coordinating all this work/crews, but staying on budget, making it right if something was a little off (life is inevitable in that way), and being just the most pleasant and professional person to be around. I honestly say to my husband, I cant believe we LIVE here, its so beautiful. Jay is our go-to guy. Thank you for taking care of us and our home!

    Jay and his crew were great to work with and did a great job on my project. Jay is a busy guy but is always within reach and is very responsive. The painters did a great job and took pride in their work. Im sure they deal with all sorts of particular home owners but they were always willing to answer questions and address any concerns I had.

    SFW Painting did a great job on our exterior paint job. The were able to do lots of much needed repair and prep on our old house before painting began and they took care with lead safety precautions, our plants, and checking in about the cost of the prep work. There has been no bubbling or peeling. They were quick to come to a couple of touch ups needed. This was not the least expensive bid we got, but it was worth it. The paint job looks very professional, fresh, and we think it will protect our house and last a long time!

    We had some issues with bubbling on our deck after they had come out, but they cam back and fixed it all. Great job, house looks good. They will also come out anytime before the year is up and correct any further issues. The bubbling was caused by old wood that still had moisture in it, not due to an error on their part.

    This experience was only the prep work for painting. Timely. Good workers. Not happy with SFW for snafu involving scheduling of gutter replacement.

    Both the prep work the final painting met our expectations. The cleanup after the paint prep/removal was spotless as was the cleanup after the painting was completed. The painting of the trim work was done especially well. I would highly recommend SFW for any paint project.

    I see all these glowing reviews from satisfied clients, but I have a bit of a different positive review to leave here. I’m not a client, I’m up in Ottawa, Ontario, where I’ve been researching best ways to get rid of lead paint from the pine floors that I want to expose in my newly purchased circa 1900 home. I’m not a reno pro, but I’m very experienced and capable in woodworking, have refinished floors in the past, etc, just not experienced with safest/proper tools and procedure for lead abatement. The SFW website kept coming up in my searches with all their great info and videos featuring their manager Jay showing some of their process and tools. After researching their tools further, I purchased the same Festool sander and Dust Extraction system. I took a shot in the dark to call them up in Portland and see if they might be able to answer some questions I had. Everyone I spoke to at the SFW office was so helpful and accommodating, passing me on to the right department until Jay called me back for a chat, giving lots of great advice and answering all my questions. He didn’t have to do that, I’m not anybody to them all the way up in Ottawa. But Jay and everyone are clearly very passionate about old home restoration and super experienced and knowledgeable about lead abatement, they really seem to be industry leaders. Plus the fact that they would take the time to help me out just speaks to their professionalism and good nature. I wish we had an SFW in Ottawa, I wouldn’t hesitate to hire them to get the lead out of my house instead of doing it myself. But getting some great advice from 4000km away was the next best thing. Thanks again guys!

    All-around outstanding work. Excellent follow-through and closure (and we have a couple of REAL fussy unit owners). The crews were all very nice people, and they were meticulous with cleanup each day. Were going to have them do our interior, as well
