Steve’s crew did a great job updating the exterior of our 1921 farmhouse, which hadn’t been painted in almost 30 years. They safely encapsulated exposed lead paint, painted the siding and trim, and replaced the gable rakes and decorative braces.The team was professional, communicative, and efficient. Our house looks so much better and we’re rehiring them to do more work on our porch and install a fence later this year. Thank you so much, Build & Paint Portland!

Our experience with Build and Paint started with Jamie giving us our bid. She was so well informed and thoughtful with her approach. She was always available for any questions we had. After multiple bids from other companies we went with Build and Paint & I’m glad we did. Steve and the crew were awesome. Great communication throughout. The guys were so nice and clean. They showed up at the same time everyday and worked the whole day. They were even able to do some repairs on my 120 year old house. My house looks amazing and I couldn’t be happier!

Steve and his crew were great to work with. He gave us a really fair price for a large old house. The previous paint job was old and flaking off, splitting in places, with nearly a century old oil paint beneath several layers of latex. To do it right, you’d have to take it back down to the wood which is ridiculously pricey. Steve worked with us to make the house look excellent despite the challenging conditions. The crew is really friendly and everyone was really nice and helpful. We love our new looking house!

Very easy to work with. Steve was quick to get the quote back to me and the project started. There were a few small hiccups, as to be expected with an entire interior house painting, but each time Steve was quick to remediate it. We had a great experience with Build & Paint. We got quotes from six companies. The price from Steve Rice with Build & Paint was middle of the road. Some were more, and some were less. We appreciated his comprehensive and detailed quote. Good communication and meticulous painters. Everyone we encountered from the company were very pleasant and responsive to our requests. The only inside painting was to repair a leak in our living room ceiling. I was surprised at the close match to the existing color so that it wasnt necessary to paint the entire ceiling and we cant tell that there was any repair done. They scraped, prepped, and painted our outdoor trim. Also painted the aluminum siding, front porch, security doors, inner front and back doors, an awning, and a couple of hand rails. It looks really nice and were happy.

UPDATED 1/2023: We hired Steve and his crew a second time to paint the inside of our condo in NE Portland. They again did a great job, timely, cost efficient and friendly. The condo looks brand new inside, thank you! :-)Steve and his crew were fantastic! The paint job is EXCELLENT, and they did some fixing of popped nails and fixed a warped windowsill as well. The whole process from bidding to finish was excellent. Very professional, they left my house cleaner than it was! Thank you Steve and crew!!!

I 100% recommend this local business! Thepainters and carpenters are professionaland dependable. They did a beautiful jobprepping and painting my 130 y/o victorianfarmhouse, showing up on time everymorning and cleaning every night. Theywere super thorough with caulking andscraping, and paid great attention to everydetail. The owner Steve is easy to work withand actually shows up when he says he will,which isnt always the case here inportland! Also, very reasonable rates. Cantwait to work with them again!

We moved to Portland from TN to be near our son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter. When the house directly behind them came on the market, we jumped on it. The house needed some work to say the least. Our son recommended Build & Paint Portland. Steve and his crew were great. They showed up every day until the job was done. They are true professionals and performed miracles in our very old house (built in 1926) - nothing was square, and the floors were uneven. We were so pleased with their work we have contracted them to build us a second bathroom. If you want a dependable and professional craftsman, call Build & Paint Portland.

Steve is professional in every sense of the word. He communicated frequently, and finished the work on time and at a reasonable price. Its the only company I will hire for my home improvement projects.

There simply arent enough positive things to say about Stephen, the owner of Build and Paint Portland. Stephen has personally painted the entire exterior of our 2-story & dormered, old Portland home, as well as installed new flooring in a bath as well as finishing sheetrock. He also competely restored the lovely, old wood floors of the 2nd floor of our home that were buried under several coats of paint. He treated each task he took on as if it were his own home. If that wasnt enough, Stephen is one of the most gracious humans we have had the pleasure of knowing.

This crew is excellent! From the estimate process to finishing the work it was a great experience. The team was prompt, friendly, and completed everything on schedule for us. We got most of our windows replaced, siding fixed on our garage and house, exterior paint and a few carpentry odds and ends taken care of by them. It was so nice not to have to worry about scheduling multiple companies to come out. They even gave us some advice about maintenance. I will definitely hire Steve and his team again for future work!

We initially contacted Steve at Build & Paint Portland to paint the exterior of our house, but learned that they also could repair our old double-hung windows, very few of which were working correctly. Because we started the process late in the season for painting, they did the window work first (last fall), then did the painting this spring. They did a wonderful job at both. The window work, done by his employee Jesus, actually came in under the estimate. Jesus, who does masterful work, also did some repair work on our front railing. Our house hadnt been painted in about 15 years and was in pretty bad shape, so there was a lot of prep work. Steve worked with us on the timing, getting the prep work done first, then completing the painting during a stretch of good weather. They did a great job and Steve clearly stands behind his companys work. Their pricing was very reasonable for the amount of work that was needed. I would definitely recommend them and wouldnt hesitate to use them for other projects.
