Update: I was in need of a new water heater. While it wasnt a dire situation, I desired a prompt service. Avery & Sons Plumbing was able to cater to my needs within a couple of days. Earl, their plumber, arrived punctually with the new water heater. It came to light that the former homeowners had used hard pipes instead of the more flexible type for the unit, which increased my expenses. However, Earl had to do some re-piping to remedy this. Despite the additional work, I can now rest easy knowing the job was done right. Impressively, he completed everything within about 4 hours. Update: I was looking to replace a defunct garbage disposal unit with a brand new one. Although the plumber showed up towards the end of the expected arrival window, he efficiently completed the job within about an hour. Earlier: I had previously employed the services of Avery & Sons Plumbing. On this occasion, a clog in my double kitchen sink necessitated their expertise. Initially, I had contacted another plumber, who suggested a complete replacement of the pipes beneath the sink and in the wall. This would involve damaging the drywall and the exterior stucco, as well as procuring a new garbage disposal unit. The estimate stood at a hefty $3,500. Given the situation, I felt it prudent to seek a second opinion, hence I reached out to Avery & Sons Plumbing. We were about to have them come over when we shared our address, and it turned out they were based in a different city. They could service Orem, but it was going to add an extra $79 for travel expenses. We thought it best to find a local plumber. Still uncertain, we chose Avery & Sons Plumbing due to their impressive reviews. We made a call, and landon, the owner, picked up. landon identified the issue over the phone and even figured out that our water heater was still under warranty. He gave us an estimate for the work ($160) and the time he would be available to come over (based on the parts availability). Im not sure what the other company would have charged, but Im certain it would have been more! landon messaged me soon after to inform me that the part was ready and confirmed his visit at the agreed time. He arrived as promised, fixed the water heater swiftly, and the bill was the exact amount he had quoted! Moreover, landon is a kind person who genuinely values his customers. I required some flexibility with my booking time and wyatt made sure to make it happen. wyatt contacted me the day before to verify my schedule and i also got a call informing me that Avery & Sons Plumbing crew was on their way. The two plumbers who showed up, nolan and jamie, were the epitome of professionalism! They had their masks on and put on gloves as soon as they got out of their vehicle. They kept me updated as the work progressed. I couldnt have hoped for a more positive experience. I value such a well-executed task along with the outstanding customer service. Under the new management, Wyatt and his team at Avery & Sons Plumbing in Orem are simply the best!

Grayson and Riley have been complete life savers today! Our bathrooms have been out for a week, with other companies coming in and not being able to get anything done but manage to charge a pretty penny for just their visit. But then here come Grayson and Riley and within 2 hours have gotten the project done for a reasonable cost! They are professional and don’t try to take you for your money. They try possible way to get the work done without having to go straight to the extreme. I appreciate them for helping us out. Highly recommend their services!

Update : Yes responsive when they found out it wasn’t working they arrived out the next day. Now that is good customer service! Called to fix leak coming from drain pipe and an hr after tech left we turned on only to have the leak still there.

My collaboration with Ross from Avery & Sons Plumbing started when he was brought in as a subcontractor for a major overhaul in Orem. Interacting with him was always a pleasure. He was friendly and grounded, always ready to discuss project progress and make key decisions. Even when our schedules didnt align, Ross was reachable via text or email. Ross took on a tremendous amount of work during the plumbing aspects of the renovation. This included managing the new bath and kitchenette plumbing, swapping out an old tub, redirecting the gas lines, shifting the current HVAC unit, and fitting a ducted minisplit HVAC for the new areas. In the midst of the project, the city unexpectedly required us to increase the water line size to the house, which involved upgrading from the original galvanized pipe. This was no minor task on top of everything else. Despite the various challenges, Ross was exceptional at keeping me informed about the progress of each task, along with the problems and potential solutions that came with them. Considering the supply chain issues caused by the pandemic and the fact that the house was built around WW2, complications were bound to happen. Ross even went the extra mile to accommodate my unconventional ideas. For instance, he positioned the new water service lower than usual to allow for the safe construction of a pond later, and rerouted the entire utility stack around my new theater room to ensure an uninterrupted TV wall. I can genuinely state that Ross played a crucial role in turning my extensive renovation project into a reality. Im extremely grateful for the opportunity to have worked with him!

We couldnt be more thrilled with our decision to have Avery & Sons Plumbing install our new heating unit in our vintage Victorian home. We were aware that our old oil heater wouldnt suffice for the upcoming winter months, so we decided to get quotes for a more efficient gas unit, as our home already had a gas line. The quotes we received were comparable, but the way Nolan, the companys owner, explained about the Navien unit we wanted, gave us confidence that they were truly experts. And indeed, they were. While we all hope for a smooth transition when installing new home fixtures, its not always the case. One day, an error message appeared on the heater which caused the system to shut down. We checked the manual and it gave us an idea of what the problem might be, so we reached out to Nolan and explained the situation. He promptly sent Wyatt and Jamie over in just a few hours to rectify the issue. They successfully identified the problem and fixed it efficiently, while maintaining their friendly and courteous demeanor. Then, the very next day, a wire shorted to one of our thermostats, no doubt due to the age of our house. Even though it was New Years Eve and in the middle of the afternoon, Nolan himself made the trip to fix the issue, ensuring we could welcome the new year in a properly heated home. I strongly recommend Avery & Sons Plumbing. Their work quality and customer service surpassed our already high expectations.

Ive never had an issue with the actual plumbing work of Avery & Sons Plumbing, but their administrative side has raised a few questions. Ive had them complete two recent tasks. During the first job, Geoffrey and Anthony, two young and inexperienced plumbers, were sent to my place to install a faucet and garbage disposal. Geoffrey, the head plumber, had never dealt with a quartz sink before. I had to guide them on how to loosen the wire supporting the sink for the installation and then tighten it back up. They charged me $280 for two hours of labor, with Anthony seemingly in a training role and not really assisting Geoffrey. I wasnt told beforehand that I would be paying for two plumbers, and it seemed like they treated the task as a flat rate job. I was also charged a $5 fuel fee, which felt a bit odd considering I dont live far from their base. In the second job, Nolan gave me a verbal estimate. He said that since I already had the parts, I would only be charged for labor ($70/hour). However, I was billed $224 for one hour and twenty minutes of work. When I called their office, the lady on the phone said she didnt have an itemized breakdown of the bill and had Nolan call me back. I found it strange that the administrative team would bill customers without seeing detailed invoices from their plumbers. While I admit that I made some errors in this process, I would strongly suggest getting an itemized estimate in advance and asking questions about each line item. It doesnt seem quite right. Since they bill for a full hour even if they only work for a fraction of that time, I would recommend keeping an eye on the time, noting when they arrive, and possibly giving them extra tasks to fill the full hour youre paying for. After speaking with Avery & Sons Plumbing, they gave me a $20 discount due to the misunderstanding. They explained that they bill by the job (T-Task) and that the rate for most jobs is $180 plus a $60 service call fee. They offer a 15% discount if you join their service plan, which is $99 for the year for either AC or furnace, or $183 for both. They also agreed to provide itemized estimates upon request and added a note to my file to always provide one.
