We woke up to a strange smell in our house. Found out it was one of our outlets caught fire because of a charging cord. My husband cut the power to the outlet and the orange glow went away, but the evidence was there, the outlet blackened, the charging cord box melted the wall black. I got in a chat immediately with Zach for Boulden Bros he had Charlotte call me to make an appointment for Daeron the tech to come out.Daeron explained everything to us in lamen terms. Very informative, friendly, knowledgeable, and our doggy loved him. He went above and beyond and helped me purchase power strips safe for turtle tank and power chair.

I was in a bit of a time crunch as I was leaving for vacation but they made sure I was the first stop. Tech was quick, clean, professional, and helpful. He gave me two different quotes showing the difference between if I did some of the prep work versus if they did it all. I will definitely be moving forward with the project as soon as I return!

We’ve been using Boulden Brothers for years. Their service plan is a great value, pricing is reasonable, and their people are the best. Specifically, Sean has been out to our house at least three times and every time I have complete trust and assurance that he is skilled at what he does and has our best interest at heart. He also always goes above and beyond with his service and trying to explain everything in a way the average homeowner can understand. No reason to look anywhere else. Sean & Lafayette from Boulden Brothers came out to our house SAME DAY to fix our furnace, which they did promptly. They were very professional and patient with questions. They did a very thorough diagnostic and found several other things to watch out for, including providing pictures of what was in disrepair. Boulden Brothers put in a new Daikin AC unit for us 4 yrs ago with no service interruptions since whatsoever.

Had Joe out from Boulden Brothers out for my annual heater check-up and maintenance and he was great. I’ve been told some of the suggested maintenance before but Joe really took the time to explain WHY I shouldn’t be neglecting it and what could happen as a result. He came back out today and fixed some things that were installed wrong (not by Boulden), and cleaned the blower motor till it looked brand new. He fully explained the upgraded filter system showing me step by step how to change the filter going forward. He even gave me stickers to put on my calendar to remind me when to change my filters. So glad I have Boulden caring for my systems now!

They came today to give us an estimate on new fixtures for our bathroom. They were very helpful and friendly, they gave us good solid information, helped us apply for financing, and set a date for the installation within the next couple of weeks. We were very satisfied today, and anticipate that they will do very well when they are here for the actual repairs.

I thought I had an easy job, replacing a cracked hose bib. When John came out he saw it wasn’t so simple and would cost $651!! We just moved into our house and couldn’t swing that. While we didn’t use them to fix the bib I really appreciate John’s honesty in telling me what the problem was and leaving the decision to repair it in my hands. He was great, no pressure, friendly and my cat even liked him. I didn’t use Boulden for this project but will definitely use them in the future, though I hope I don’t need to.

We joined Boulden brothers maintenance program last year. Our heating system didn’t work at the beginning of this year. We called them to have someone come out and take a look at it even though we had paid approximately $600 over the past year and they had never made a call before they wanted to charge us $100 For someone to come out and evaluate the system. They informed us that we needed to replace a valve actuator on our hydronic heating system. The cost was going to be $2300. They would not give us a breakdown of parts and labor. I found the parts online for around $100. A YouTube video showed how to change out the parts in approximately 10 minutes. Since I haven’t done it before I’m sure it’ll take me at least a couple of hours. It’s nowhere near the cost that they quoted us of $2300. I think it’s outrageous.

We had a limited power outage to only 3 rooms in our house but couldn’t locate a blown fuse/tripped circuit. We thought our school fuse box has been wired around — we were wrong. We had a fuse box from the 60s that wasn’t even close to safe. But we would have never known unless Boulder Bros came out quickly and identified the problem. They offered multiple tiers of repairs and never pressured us to “add on.” When they came out to actually rewire the fuse box, they were prompt, courtesy, and fast! They explained the whole process and showed me exactly where everything was wired. Cannot recommend highly enough. Great experience.

Overall pretty good, but definitely not exceptional. Replaced polybutylene (gray) water pipers. Work was done within the expected time and there were no leaks after they were done.What could have been improved?1) they put extra holes in drywall that were unnecessary2) the cuts they did in drywall were done only to find water pipes and they were curvy, which eventually made it more difficult to fix drywall. it looked like they were speed cuts3) we asked if they could recommend a drywall person (given that they did not do drywall) and they said sure, but then opened up google on their phone and just started looking4) water pipes into bathroom vanity cabinets came up through floor, rather than through the wall (as they were originally). They also did not ask us if we had a preference.5) in one bathroom our toilet tank had to be taken off in order to access the dry wall. no problem there, but tank hardware was quite old, so we would need a new hardware set. Originally I said that I could do it, but they asked them for a quote since they were already here. Their quote was $400 and they would only be installing the $20 kit from home depot , which included the flush valve, a couple of screws, floater bulb (NOT toilet or tank). We then opted to do it ourselves and it took only 25 minutes.6) initially we had asked if they could include clearing a 8 foot drain pipe from our kitchen, which we had full access to in the basement. they forgot to include in quote, but they said they could do it for free. on the day of the PEX install it suddenly became $600, so we opted not to do it.My recommendation is to get everything in the estimate and then watch out for any extras, which in my case were way overpriced (e.g., equivalent of $960/hr to replace toilet hardware only)

Boulden Brothers was mentioned a few times with positive comments.I decided to give them a call....and from the beginning my experience with their TEAM was phenomenal !!!* The initial conversation and scheduling of an appointment were pleasurable.* Next Chad Hipsher (HVAC technician) arrived on time and spent over 2 hours assessing/cleaning/ and explaining my units.I should have taken a picture when I saw him upside down in my air conditioner.... cleaning out accumulated debris.Chad was knowledgeable/ VERY efficient and so pleasant in his communication with me.* I decided to replace my units due to age and efficiency.*Next on the scene was Jon Rivers (HVAC project manager), arriving on time and examining/ calculating/ and offering me a variety of options. He was extremely thorough and left the appointment 3 hours later. I now have a good understanding of my HVAC system. (maybe I will apply for a position at Boulden Brothers !!)* The day of installation brings Eric and Brenden to my doorstep.Talk about efficiency..... these 2 were fantastic !!! They were courteous/SKILLED and wasted NO time with the job ahead of them. Totally happy with this service visit for our heating system. Johnny arrived at the promised time (actually a few minutes early, which was even better). He listened carefully to my description of the problem and came up with a tentative diagnosis. He then did several tests which confirmed his diagnosis.He also did a full check-up on the rest of the system. The system is now running as it should.Im very pleased with the work Johnny did. I had 3 ceiling fans that all wobbled to the point I was not able to set them on high without worrying that they might fall. I called the Boulden Brothers to set up an appointment to fix the fans. Process was easy and they called the day before to remind me as well as 30 minutes before arriving which is nice since the window is between 4 hours. Dan the electrician arrived and was very respectful and eager to help. He went right to fixing the fans and was able to fix all 3 of them. The price was also reasonable. She explained what she was doing & why.10/8: We had purchased the Preventive Maintenance Plan when we purchased the furnace last winter. We called to have Boulden Bros come out early in October to do the preseason check. As usual, the Tech was super. But we were really pleased when he informed us that the Maintenance Plan, was a whole house plan, that included an Electrical check (every 2 years) & a Plumbing check (every 3 years). We had both done today and couldnt be any more pleased. John (Electrical) & Coulton (Plumbing) were professional, personable & knowledgeable. We asked about a total system surge protector & he was able to install it today, along with a couple of other minor issues that he discovered while he was here. We continue to be impressed with everyone weve dealt with in every department at Bouldin Brothers. March 2020: We were totally impressed with everyone weve dealt with from Boulden Brothers. Their use of technology in diagnosing the problems and in the estimation of the size of the unit adds to the professionalism they exhibit. Bob, the Tech who come out, was able to show me, via a camera, the problem with the heat exchanger. He explained everything he was doing & why. John came out later that day, and he also explained what he was doing, what the options were in terms of features/benefits. We called on Wednesday, & the installers are here on Friday to install the new furnace. We couldnt be more pleased.
