We had a plumbing back up a little over a year ago, and Paul Bunyan was fast and responsive to the issue and worked with us to get it resolved as fast as possible.Had a great experience, so we asked them to come out and give us a quote to replace the water heater and add a water softener. We also had another company do the same. The other company was in and out within 10 minutes, didnt explain much, and provided a baseline quote with little to no detail.Paul Bunyan stayed at the house for at least 2-3 hours, checking all the plumbing, running tests, and went through a huge list of options that we could go with, and explained the differences, etc. Brought up numerous code concerns and incorrect plumbing that the previous company and even our home inspector didnt bother to bring up.Needless to say, we went with Paul Bunyan. Jeremy Petersen went above and beyond to provide us with as much information as possible to make an informed decision. The previous company gave us a bare bones estimate, with no information on the pros and cons of products. We ended up going higher than we were expecting, but thats due to much better products, that fits our lifestyle, which we wouldnt have even known about without them.Theyre also incredibly fast at responding, setting appointments, and install. This all happened today, and we get our new system tomorrow!

I was able to get an appointment quickly for 2 sinks with faucet problems. The plumber was good at explaining the situation and suggesting we might be able to do one part ourselves. Hell be back in a couple days to install what was beyond our ability. Were very happy with the good service.

I woke up to no hot water from the water heater in place when I moved in 2 years ago. Not only was Paul Bunyan Plumbing able to come out promptly, but they were able to replace it that same day as the water heater was leaking all around the bottom! Prices were very reasonable considering where the water heater was located in the back of the utility room, behind some appliances. Chris was professional and compassionate. Definitely recommend.

I had a main line backup and called Paul Bunyan. Jake came out to clean the line and before starting the clean out showed me via his camera all the roots in the line that were causing the issue. He also requested another technician (also named Jake!) to help because the roots were so bad. Both techs were extremely professional and worked for at least 4 hours to clean the line. When complete, they again showed me the line via camera and the results were amazing. They even took the time to use an additional machine to insure every last root was removed. I can’t say enough good things about Jake & Jake! Courteous, professional, extremely knowledgeable and went above & beyond. Highly recommend Paul Bunyan for all your plumbing needs.

Brian has vast experience and knew how to deal with how my house was configured. He did a thorough walk through and left everything better than he found it. I was previously part of the Home Works maintenance program, and I wasnt sure what to expect with the recent merger into Paul Bunyan. Well, I didnt need to worry. Joe C performed a yearly plumbing evaluation and maintenance on my home recently and was great to work with. He listened closely to my questions and descriptions of possible concerns, and provided options for anything I might want to address. I was glad to have his expertise without any pushy sales tactics.The only suggestion (not for Joe, but for the company) would be to proactively reach out to schedule the annual maintenance appointments; that is how the program worked under HomeWorks and I found it much more convenient. Thank you!

I just wish pressure washing a main drain line did not cost almost $1000 per hour. Hot damn I was not ready for that. Excellent work, but pricey.

On 01/07/25 our water heater stopped working. We called Paul Bunyan Plumbing & Drains. A service call was scheduled for that morning. Shane Kaufman came out when he was supposed to and diagnosed the problem right away. The water heater was still under warranty, and Shane removed the old one and replaced it with a new water heater. Shane was alert, he knew what he was talking about, and he was very respectful of us.We would recommend Paul Bunyan Plumbing & Drains to anyone.

I am very pleased with the response from Paul Bunyan. They were able to send a plumber in the early evening to address my plumbing emergency. I was completely satisfied with the plumber, Dimitri, from the moment he called me to tell me he was on his way and through the entire time he was in my house. When he arrived and reviewed the situation it became apparent that the repair would be very costly. Instead of being greedy and pushing me to spend a lot of money tonight, he was able to offer a temporary solution that allowed me to get my water turned back on and then review some options for a long-term solution that could be done during non-emergency hours. Well-done Dmitri and I appreciate your ability to take care of my family in a time of need!I would highly recommend Paul Bunyan and Dmitri for your services!!!

Great service! The plumbers are awesome! We had to have them send a plumber to us twice in 2 days. The first day, Jake Haroldson came and snaked one of our drains. But we were still having problems, he told us to call back when we find the main pipe cap. So we did. Then the next day we had another plumber come out, Jake Kociemba, and he was able to get the clog out and even walked us through how the plumbing works in our house since we had just recently moved in and didnt know much. Both jakes were very kind, and very helpful! The only issue I had was the communication from the company. They gave me a time frame of when they would show up, but everytime it got close to the end of the time frame I had to text their main number if they were still coming. And that was the only way I could get an update on when they would arrive. I understand being late an all as you dont know how long other appointments take. But an update without me having to reach out would have been nice. Theyre prices are also very high, but Jake K. Gave us a coupon that saves us some money. And were very grateful for that! All in all a good experience!

It was Saturday night before our final week of school before Christmas. I was doing laundry and when I checked on things, found a flooded laundry room. I knew the week ahead would not allow any time for me to have someone come out, so I called Paul Bunyan. I was able to get an appointment on Sunday. Jake contacted me, letting me know he was on his way, and I could not have asked for better service. Jake did an awesome job, explaining things thoroughly and taking care of my problem quickly and efficiently. I was so impressed that I joined the Legendary Care Club. VERY knowledgeable professionals. They were able to diagnose my issues, reconfirm some previous work that we chose not to do, and help gameplan for how to resolve the issue once and for all.The only reason I cannot give 5 stars is the last couple of visits, the reps could have been less chatty. I feel sheepish saying so because the guys were legit nice, but the calls should have been more to the point of getting the work done, exhibit their excellent customer service, which they did, and allow me (and them) to get on with the day. The conversation was pleasant, however adding more than 20 minutes to the call to chat about personal matters wasnt necessary. A little rapport building is one thing, however it was a bit much. That being said, I do recommend their professional services over and over again.

My basement started flooding on Thanksgiving...3 hours before everyone was supposed to come over as I was hosting. My home is only 2 years old and I have constant problems. I called the plumber from our builder and it took him 2 hours to call me back after calling their emergency line twice. I decided to call Paul Bunyan to see if I could get help. The operator was fantastic and took all my detailed information. I got a call within 15-minutes and had someone over within 40-minutes of that. He was able to fix the problem right away, however, I was hoping they could find something wrong since the basement has flooded multiple times from the drain. The plumber did a camera scope and didnt charge me for it as it didnt show anything wrong. Paul Bunyan was fantastic!! I highly recommend! Erik was great!

Matt was friendly, professional and competent. He clearly knew what he was doing. In addition to doing the work requested, he gave me several plumbing related tips regarding an upcoming renovation we are planning to do in our kitchen. I appreciated that very much. The cost — $850 — was a lot higher than I anticipated to remove an old hot water dispenser and swap out four old water valves for new ones, but I have no idea if any professional plumber would charge the same for a 90-minute job. For smaller jobs one doesn’t typically get multiple estimates. That said, I approved the work and the price before it proceeded so I really cant complain. I appreciated his work.

I had bathroom sink, tub and tiles replaced by Paul Bunyan Plumbing & Howard Bros. Tiling. Their work was amazing. It has given a good new feel to the entire house.On day 1, Tony arrived and so did 4-5 others. They looked over the job & discussed. Two remained, Dave (I think) & Scott. (Chris stayed awhile too.)They covered the carpeted stairs with a triple layer of canvas tarp & removed the old tub, sink & surrounding tiles. They did this fast and with hardly a sound. They moved the old stuff out and into the truck in what seemed to me a twinkling of an eye. At the end of the day they left not a molecule of dust or debris.On day 2 Chris installed the new sink and tub. He reinforced the floor under the old tub. He’s a perfectionist obvious by the beautiful copper piping he installed & the perfect placement of the tub in the old sagging house.On day 3, Scott and Tracy removed the remaining tile and retiled around the tub and above the sink. They’re perfectionists too. Their work is beautiful.I’m grateful to Paul Bunyan for providing these friendly, respectful, professional men to renew my bathroom. I recommend them for any plumbing project.I’m also grateful for the fine work of Howard Bros. tilers.

Update: On 08/29/2024 I had Paul Bunyan come out to do a free Hot Water heater flush and fill under their Honor Program for Veterans and First Responders. But, my water softener was on its last legs as it was 20+ years old. Had a new one put in plus some pipe repairs which cost about $3100.Called this company for a project in my laundry room that cost $2700 and change. Had a laundry tub replaced with new piping, and new faucet. Had two ball valves installed in both hot and cold lines to the upstairs bathtub. Got tired of Hero and Bonfe not having decent times for appointments being a disabled veteran who takes a boatload of meds. Paul Bunyan came out as promised between 8-10am Friday January 5, 2024. Gave an estimate, did the work without any issues overall happy disabled veteran with a lighter wallet. Lol. Lastly, Paul Bunyan also has an honors program for military folks which isnt a bad deal. I would definitely recommend them. Plus, they love to label everything. Lol.

I called in a panic at 7pm on a Monday after walking into a floor of water in my home. I could hear water running at full blast, but couldnt see where it was coming from. Nor could I see the main valve (to turn the water off).I received an ETA of 8-9:30pm. David M. called at 7:50pm saying he was on his way. He asked for pictures so he could direct me to the main valve before he showed up. (Nothing was clearly marked and my equipment space is very cramped.)I got the water turned off and David showed up about 10 minutes later. He determined the issue right away and proceeded to write several quote options for replacing my equipment.David was knowledgeable and answered all my questions. More importantly, he didnt make me feel as clueless as I know I am. David was kind and put me at ease from start to finish. I would highly recommend him to anyone I know.

Had an issue with a pressurized toilet over a weekend (inherited the system when I bought my home) as well as the water shut off valve to that toilet. Our technician, Matt, was wonderful- very kind and knowledgeable. Turns out the valve was soldered closed by a previous owner! Anyway he replaced and fixed the valve so it is functional and after discussing options decided to have the toilet replaced/installed a new one -so in the future any repairs will be straightforward and not dangerous. Highly recommended!

Josh was my plumber, and I would give him more than five stars if it was an option. I had started a job replacing a wax ring on an existing toilet, it quickly turned ugly when I found a small hairline crack in the existing toilet. Then upon removing the toilet I found a crack in the flange the toilet connects to. The cracks in the flange clearly had been there for a while as someone tried to repair them at one point, Instead of just replacing the flange. The flange was on a concrete Tile floor. Josh notified me he was on his way within the first hour of the window I was given. Josh arrived looked over the job, Listened to my needs and concerns, and got to work. He made short work of chiseling out The old flange and installed a new one. He also replaced the turn off. Turns out the original flange was not installed correctly by The builder. It was installed Too high and crooked. Joshs installof the new flange he was able to get it flush with tile floor. Now the new toilet is rock solid sitting on the tile floor. The nightmare of having a leaky wobbly toilet is over. Thank you Josh!

Found out we had a defective water heater about 8pm one might. not just a repairable issue, but it needed replacement. They said we can replace the product the next morning before noon. They arrived at 8:30 am . I still had Jammies on.... They made every way they could to lay down a coverage rug every place they new the would need to walk on.They checked with us to make sure they were not going to up set us. Took the old one out and the new one ln the basement in no time. Every thing went with Great service and great directions for us on how to take care of the new unit. Thanked us for our business and away they went. Every thing was cleaner then when they came. Made us so comfortable and we still; are. There was no charge because it was still under warranty. How could you be happier. They even made a point to give us the number for us to use if we had any question after they left

We had a gas leak and had to shut our gas off. We called and Bryan showed up on a Sunday and explained the issue.He was courteous and although it was an expensive issue, said he could get it done that day as we didnt have gas for our furnace, to cook, etc.On a Sunday, he stayed until well after dark (and late) working on the issue and got us back up and running.I believe he went above and beyond to fix our issue as I believe a lot of people would have stated that they didnt have time to do the project before they had to go home.We couldnt be happier or more impressed with Bryan and Paul Bunyans Plumbing & Drains. I cannot say enough good things about Nathan with Paul Bunyan. We needed to have a water heater replaced, which fortunately, was still under warranty. Nathan came to our son’s townhome to assess and do the replacement. Unfortunately, the builder of this townhome property did a disservice to homeowners by making the utility area in the confines of what would be equivalent to a small closet area with bifold doors. This space includes all of the pipes, water heater (at the back far right corner) and furnace to the left. Water softener system could only be installed at the front blocking the furnace and water heater. Nathan, in his twenty years of experience as a Journeyman Plumber was able to work around the extremely blocked/congested area to remove the faulty water heater and replace with the warranty heater and chose to use a taller unit and two inches less in diameter to help it install somewhat easier for him. His knowledge and expertise was very evident in the way he completed this very cumbersome and arduous task to replace the heater that was leaking. He is extremely patient and has a very high work ethic. His demeanor in talking with us was very professional and he is certainly a credit to Paul Bunyan’s organization. He also had an apprentice with him (Kaitlin) who has been learning the trade with PB technicians and she was very fortunate to be with Nathan whom I’m sure was able to teach and guide her to grow her grow in this trade. She was very helpful and also wonderful to work with. I sincerely hope this review is read by upper management/ownership because they need to know about the kind and professional workmanship Nathan provides. He was extremely helpful and very kind. Jake was the technician that came out to my house. My water heater had failed overnight and was leaking everywhere. He pulled out the old water heater and replaced it, within a few hours. I had a appointment and the person called me and said he was on his way and would be here in about 30 minutes, this was inside the times they gave me for my appointment. He arrived and introduced himself and asked the best way to get into my basement to do the drain exam. told him the back door, he went and got his equipment and went to work. I watched him as he was using a camera to check my main drain. When he was all the way to the street he turned the screen to show me that to my surprise the drain was completely empty. The main thing besides showing me was the way he cleaned up after he was done so I could not tell he had been here at all. Great Job.

Update: had them come out again for a clogged main drain. I had tried everything so we called the professionals. Gavin P. was able to unclog the main line within an hour. It was a hair clog that looks like a rat. Only issue we had was in order to save $700, I had to remove and set the toilet myself. I think this service of resetting the toilet should be cheaper. Another than that, great service and highly professional.Great service. They dropped the service fee ($89) because they couldn’t fix our toilet completely but it is much better than before. Due to our own negligence, our toilet did not work because we don’t have a water softener so it is not Paul Bunyan’s fault that they could not fix our toilet 100%. They recommended a water softener and they sent the estimate directly to my email. They are technologically advanced compared to other businesses and I enjoyed that aspect very much.

Chris was called at the end of his day for a leaky pipe repair on my 1957 home. The plumbing system is original and outdated, and many water shutoff valves are corroded and almost impossible to turn even 90 degrees. I had spent a few days troubleshooting, trying to loosen rusted, corroded shutoff fixtures, but afterwards I had a continuous leak in the pipe leading to the water main. I have three outside faucets and couldn’t find the shutoff valve for one of them. Chris looked in every conceivable place for that shutoff but it doesn’t seem to exist. Luckily that particular outside faucet is “freeze-proof” and city water code doesn’t require a shut-off valve.Chris explained the options available to stop the leak and explained the pricing involved in each option. This helped me make a decision that was right for me—taking care of the matter at hand and saving the other possible updates until later. I explained that I was on a very tight budget and that I had just had to have my furnace and A/C replaced. Chris figured out the most economical solution and did the job quickly and beautifully. Then he walked me through the whole winterization checklist to ensure I could take care of this myself in future years. I can’t say enough good things about him. He was professional, kind, patient with my many questions, and did a splendid job replacing the leaking valve with a modern, easy-to-turn handle (brass ball valve).He really went over and above the call of duty for me, and I am very grateful to have had him perform my repair.

I am glad I went with Paul Bunyan plumbing. We had a issue with our current (and over decade old) water softner and had called in to place a service. The technician, Jake, was 100% communicative with me and did a really great job! Called me first before arriving and got to my place within their time frame. Great service! Also really sleek and modern looking water softner unit, I really love the look of it.

I was very happy that the work was done in just a few hours. On time, friendly and professional. That being said...i was floored at the price of one small toilet. $1,410. Im my opinion extremely over priced. But I had to have the work done immediately so i had no choice. The price is the only reason I could not give 5 stars.

Gavin did a great job of explaining his findings in the end. He didn’t locate the main drain at the beginning so he pulled my toilet and charged me $250. In the end he found the main drain and completed the job so I paid for no reason. I’m disappointed about that.I wasn’t planning on having my old toilet pulled and put back. When my appt was first booked I was not told there would be a $250 charge if they needed to go through the toilet. Gavin did a good job in replacing everything in the end.

Paul Bunyan/Homeworks installed a hot water heater and furnace two days after Christmas last year. Last week, our hot water heater broke. As it was under warranty, Paul Bunyan/Homeworks came to my house the same day I called, found a new water heater at their distributor a half hour before the distributor closed and installed it. They arrived at 2 PM. I took a hot shower at 6PM. Since they has installed it a year earlier and it was under warranty, there was no charge for the service or the new hot water heater. No haggling, no arguing - they just came and installed a new one at no charge.

I purchased a water softener from Lowe’s many years ago. It never worked after being installed by their recommended plumber. I had it looked at several times over the years & no one was ever able to figure out the problem until today. Tom determined very quickly that it was never plumbed for cold water, only hot water. It was never installed properly. Kudos to sending an experienced person.

We had a back-flow out of our basement drain and Sam and Gavin came out to clear the line. Which they did without problem. While they were here we asked them to camera our main sewer line. They showed us a significant blockage about 55 feet down the line. They recommended a high-pressure water cleaning of the line rather than a typical rotor cleaning because of the age of our house. Sam said this was a more costly operation than the traditional rotor cleaning and he clearly set out the costs.The next day, promptly at 8am, a crew comprised of another Sam and a Jake showed up. Sam and Jake high-pressure washed the line while sending a camera down the line. They allowed us to watch the operation at intervals to note the progress and view our line. Our line was successfully cleaned all the way to the city main.All four representatives of Paul Bunyan were well trained, courteous, and evidenced great concern for us as customers. Some reviewers of your firm have commented on the cost of your service compared to competitors. We believe you get what you pay for. In your case we feel the service was well worth the cost!Mary Jo and Galen Severson

Called PBP due to an outside faucet that would not completely shut and dripped I called on Wednesday and they were able to schedule appointment for Thursday afternoon! Brian assessed the situation and shared 2 options. We tried the first, less invasive, and when that did not take care of dripping, I okayed the next. Careful measurements were taken, Brian cut one hole in my basement ceiling and replaced the faucet. Cleanup and cover on hole was done and work was complete.He suggested that I replace a cracked connection on an outside hose. Assessed the other outdoor faucet at my request and found it ok.Good job, Brian!
